Welcome to a brand new shiny thread to help us all onwards and downwards through March.

Here's a link to the last February thread

You see I wouldn't be too upset if I never ate another biscuit again. Savoury all the way in this house

Hi everyone, I was a bit absent on the last thread so sorry if I'm not caught up with everyone. Well I'm a bit disappointed as I ended Feb only 2lb down so 10st 5lb, I'm blaming 2 DC birthdays and half term for my lack of focus and too much cake eating!

So, bring it on March - anything over 2 lbs is a bonus Grin

I would never eat a biscuit again if the calories in wine could be cut in half.......
I think I have lost around 7 lindas since joining this thread in mid January and have had a couple of nice NSVs.Smile
My target for March is to lose the full 7 Lindas and get to 12st 5 but in reality 12st 7 is probably what I should be aiming at

I'm with TV. Wine is my downfall...and chocolate and potatoes and all associated products and cheese. In fact biscuits are about the only thing I can take or leave. Might give them up for lent Grin
I think I will give up crisps for lent!
Sent dh to Tesco to get some tea in. Not only did he buy pasta bake (I'm low carbing) but it's in a white sauce (more fattening and I'm not that fond) so I've not eaten it and actually don't feel hungry. I've only had a falafel salad today. I know eat when hungry but surely it isn't healthy to do that?

Weighed in at 9 st 10 this morning. I would love to lose 3 lbs this month to be 9 and a half stone. Going to have to apply more radical approach though as the 16:8 fast isn't delivering. Maybe 5:2 or alcohol abstinence. I don't have enough time in my life for calorie counting.

Wine is my constant frenemy... I gave up cakes and biscuits 2.5 years ago and haven't really missed them (have had the occasional biscuit but pretty much no cake). Wine I can't seem to let go of...

I am another not too fussed with potatoes - never that bothered by roasties, can take or leave them. But my lovely PIL were Irish and MIL would serve three kinds of potatoes with every meal. I don't think FIL went a day in his life without eating potatoes, he would have been in potato heaven in that place BOOP! DS1 one has a saying - 'What did Grandad have with his chips? More chips!'

Quim it must be really tricky to eat in a normal way without a kitchen, no wonder you have stalled a bit. I predict great things (and lots of fresh cooking) in March.

I popped in to take my mind off snacking and you are all talking about cracking! And cheese! And wine!

I'm off to look at flights to Berlin.

Arsey I'm sure I read something about diet drinks not helping with weight loss but I can't recall the science. If I can find the link I'll post it.

Grin Stellar I will come with you, I really fancy the idea of all that crackling.

In slightly healthier news I have done baked cauliflower in tomatoes, delicious and very filling for not many calories. Great side to have with chicken or fish.

I want to go to a potato restaurant! Sounds amazing .

And i would give up chocolate and biscuits in a heartbeat of I could swap it for no cal beer and bread (classy)

What would Berlin be like for a sad singleton alone? Are people friendly?

Report
BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2017 22:17

Very friendly and welcoming. I've travelled alone many times and I wouldn't hesitate to go to Berlin on my own. It's not sad at all. I love solo travel

Cheddar Topshop sizing is obscene, don't be a silly! A 12 there is like an 8 anywhere else!

Good to have you back August Smile

Wooooop, hit too soon - August was going to say I've maintained since the beginning of the YEAR so you're up on me Grin

will I strongly believe there's nothing wrong with skipping a meal if you're not hungry. It's just psychological. You often see with little kids and pets (those sophisticated dieters Grin) that they just don't eat if they don't fancy it, it's actually more counterintuitive to eat to a timetable regardless of how you feel than it is to listen to your body. I quite often struggle with the same thing, and have to ask myself very sternly if I need food, or just want it. We are not really evolved to deal with that dilemma!

Badly timed NSV!
I have a job interview today and my usual go to smart dress is too big - I look like a little girl playing dress up wearing it. Eek.

Report
QuimReaper · 02/03/2017 07:07

Ha aueenie I had a similar thing when I was getting dressed to go to a posh dinner, all my stuff was in boxes so I'd just taken out one dress and it made me look like a tree trunk! I didn't know quite how to feel Grin

Good luck on the job interview! Flowers

I've been up all night vomiting Confused I had drinks with friends last night but certainly wasn't rip-roaringly drunk. I was home before midnight and had toast and chamomile tea to settle the stomach (was already feeling a bit queasy). I keep thinking about some questionable chicken I ate on Tuesday evening, I reeeeally hope it wasn't that...

Sounds like a great weekend in Berlin! It is such a lovely place. My sisters had pork knuckle when we went back in 2008 - they still talk about them Grin

Not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow, will see how much is gone for feb.

Morning all. I'm trying something different exercise-wise and heading off for a swim. I hate our pool though - the water and changing rooms are freezing - so I'll probably return in a grump.

Hope you are feeling better Quim. Envy

Morning all 11.6 this morning so already -1lb for the month, 6 more to go and I will not be ruining it at the weekend!

Potato restaurant sounds incredible, we went to a similar swiss themed tourist trap restaurant, all they served was 15 types of fondue! Plus the walls were painted to look like the Alps in summer and there was very much a log cabin aesthetic going on!

I didn't tell you about my birthday gifts at risk of sounding like a child, but there are no children from my generation in our families yet so we are the babies and as such we get spoiled! Plus all my mates are in the throes of first grownup jobs no kids and we like pressies!

I got a new sewing machine from my parents, a prosecco hamper from MIL and FIL, a beatrix potter coin collection from my sister, a Lush gift box and fondue set from DP perfume from my aunt, a sew your own christmas bunting set and a silver bracelet from my maternal grandparents and a gift voucher for a spa day from my paternal grandparents.
Best mate bought me pistachio truffles and hand cream, I got nice bath stuff off another friend and a bottle of prosecco off work Grin
Seeing another few friends from uni at the weekend and they have also mentioned pressies!

I am very spoiled Grin I know no one asked for that long list, but it is nice to brag occasionally Grin

queen good luck with interview and once job is secured a new dress in smaller size will be certainly due. An NSV is an NSV and should be celebratedSmile

I seem to be on a roll this last few days and have badminton tonight and a realitively alcohol free weekend coming upHalo

Just realised we're going out for our anniversary this weekend, to a restaurant with a 7 course taster menu. I picked a really stupid time to join a weightless thread! Oh well, best be on my best behaviour until then so I can have an evening off.
