I'm just within the healthy weight range, but would love to lose 15lbs as that is where I felt best. Ideally I'd like to lose 1 lb per week, and be at my goal weight by Summer as we are planning a beachieve holiday - but mainly I just want to feel and look better as I haven't been taking care of myself lately. I will weigh myself every Sunday.
Today's weight: 9st4lbs (130lbs)
Goal weight: 8st3lbs (115lbs)
Lbs to go: 15

Anyone like to join?

Gettingthere7 I might go for a sauna today Grin.
I'm struggling a bit with exercise as I see a physio for a bad back, and have been advised only low impact exercises. I'm pretty limited to cycling, swimming and yoga/Pilates which is fine but I get a bit bored.
Anyway... DH is making pancakes for breakfast but I'm just going to cover mine in strawberries/raspberries and blueberries.

littlemissM92 · 28/02/2017 08:15

My plan is

Porridge with blueberries and quite abit of melon ( already had)

Water

Lunch omelette with cherry toms spinach and pepper
Orange apple grapes
Belvita biscuit bar

Water

Tea spag boo with tonnes of veg and brown pasta no garlic bread

Water

Morning ladies!

Plan for today: two poached eggs on once slice of homemade wholegrain toast for breakfast.
Root veg salad for lunch.
Stuffed mushroom with bacon and leek, with roasted cauliflower for dinner.
Pancakes for dessert!

Snacks, grapes and small bowl of branflakes if desperate.

Exercise: 2 mile run home, Jillian Michaels workout (I love her and have loads of her DVDs!)

Drinks decaf tea with skimmed milk, water.

Flashinthepan · 28/02/2017 08:54

I'm also going to try an epsom salts bath as that is supposed to be good for drawing out impurities/excess water!

RosieCat79 · 28/02/2017 11:39

Oooh not to late for me to join is it?

I'm 10st 2lbs and only 5'2, so not only is my BMI now officially in the overweight category, but I really do look heavier and none of my old clothes fit. What's really unnerved me is the speed with which it's crept on - when I got married 18 months ago I was 8st 4lbs!

The funny thing with me is that I actually love healthy foods and eat a pretty good diet nutritionally speaking - I'm not really one for buying junk food. My downfall is portion control - and wine! When I am cooking I will taste and nibble away, usually with a glass of wine in hand, so by the time it comes to dish up I will have probably consumed my quota of dinner calories already.

REALLY need to get a handle on the situation, I don't feel good about myself and also want to be a healthy weight for TTC this year.

40g Porridge oats with with milk, banana and 2 tsps of peanut butter for breakfast this morning.

Flashinthepan · 28/02/2017 14:24

Just a tip, which helped me lose some excess weight after recovery from emergency surgery last year, I made a chart where I tick off if I've had a healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, there's also a column for whether i've had any alcohol, and exercised that day. I have it stuck on the fridge and then at the end of a week/two weeks, I do a weigh and measure and right it next to that day on the chart, then keep going.

It's obviously not as detailed as things like my fitness pal but it does help to make you mindful every day and force you to see what you've done that day/helps you to be a bit stricter as you know you'll have to write it down.

Sorry if that seems obvious but thought it might help someone!

littlemissM92 · 28/02/2017 15:44

Good idea I'll Defo do that !

Thingsgettingstranger · 28/02/2017 16:16

Not at all Rosie! Glad to have you here. And yes, portion control is one of my downfalls too.

Flash thats a great idea! Will give it a go.

Have stuck to my plan today and am feeling amazing. Craving a bit of junk but going to settle for a coffee instead.

Can I join, please?

Recently lost 1/2 stone then kids got sick, then I got sick and I'm still struggling with some kind of virus so I can't be bothered cooking for myself and end up living on toast/ biscuits. I'm pretty sure I've put that 1/2 stone back on again!

Really like the idea of not being too detailed because want to make sure that the changes I'm making now will stick forever. Love your tip flash - sounds a good way of staying generally on track without becoming obsessive.

Going to start tomorrow and weigh in on Sunday for the first time.

LisaAlexander · 28/02/2017 16:28

Let's do this!

How should we track it all? Exercise and diet?

sandymcallister · 28/02/2017 16:32

We should ALL get in a huge Flex tribe. That way we can see who needs lifting up.

redpickle · 28/02/2017 18:34

Hello!
I'd like to join too.
I am exactly the same starting weight as you OP and would like to lose the same amount by the end of July.
I keep losing the same 4lbs over and over.

redpickle · 28/02/2017 18:40

Oh and I'm ok on exercise but I eat too much and I'm terrible at drinking water.

Does anyone have any tips to increase water - I just find it physically hard to drink much and I forget Blush

Gettingthere7 · 28/02/2017 20:15

Day 2 done.

Cereal
Banana
Tuna salad with wholemeal wrap
Apple
Salmon, vegetable rice and asparagus
Protein bar
(3 cups of tea)

I never drink tea either but had some clients where it's the done thing...

1500 calories roundabout.

Also done a circuits class tonight.

Really impressed by what people are eating so far...simple, healthy no fuss.

Gettingthere7 · 28/02/2017 20:18

Red pickle...re water

I made a big shift October time re water. I basically stopped drinking anything else but water (fizzy stuff as plain is too boring). If you replace what you would ordinarily drink (mine was full fat coke mostly!) with h20 it's much easier to fit in...I drink about 3 litres a day now.

Thingsgettingstranger · 28/02/2017 20:36

Hi Hester! Glad to have you here. Well done on the 1/2 stone weigt loss, and sorry to hear you and the kids have been ill lately.

Hi pickle Smile I too struggle to drink a lot of water. I've started drinking at least 100 ml per hour. So if you were awake from 7am-10pm for example, that's 1.5L at least. Making it a habit makes it so much easier.

That's a brilliant day getting! Admittedly I've gone a bit off track with pancakes Sad feeling a bit sick now. BUT tomorrow is the beginning of March and a fresh start. Hoping for tomorrow to be better.

HesterGreysGarden · 28/02/2017 21:04

Thanks OP! Totally with you on the pancakes... that's why I'm starting proper tomorrow. I'm interested: do you measure out 100ml of water p/hr, e.g. use a specific glass? It sounds the right way to do it, drinking little and often, but I think I'd get muddled. FWIW redpickle I have found that getting a good water bottle that I like and find easy to tote around has made me better at remembering to drink water. Does that make me shallow? 😆

Thingsgettingstranger · 28/02/2017 21:19

Hester when I first started trying to drink more water I would measure put 100 ml every hour into the same cup, but now Im used to it and can do it without measuring exactly. I also carry a 750ml bottle around with me all day and drink that whenever I'm thirsty Smile

Flashinthepan · 28/02/2017 21:23

Ooo glad my idea sounds good to you guys!

So today was two poached eggs with two pieces whole grain toast, parsnip and carrot mash, shortbread finger, bowl of bran flakes, mushroom stuffed with leek and bacon and kale pesto, roasted cauliflower, and 2 pancakes. Wow that sounds like a lot. Didn't feel like it though.

Ran 2 miles and did Jillian Michaels killer abs workout.

Somehowsomewhere · 01/03/2017 07:29

Day 2 was a bit of a write off (pancakes!) but back on it today. A poached egg on wholemeal toast for breakfast, not sure about lunch as I go to my dads for lunch on a weds (it's always pretty healthy though!) then pork fillet with homemade coleslaw and corn on the cob for dinner.
I'm not religious so don't usually do Lent but contemplating giving up wine Confused Wine

littlemissM92 · 01/03/2017 08:18

3.5k run done having weetabix now then straight up to muck horse out and ride him. It's my day off today so usually terrible for eating everything but I'm feeling focused ! Not sure about lunch but tea it butternut squash chickpea curry with brown rice x

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 01/03/2017 09:11

I was pretty good yesterday. I had
B - 2 hard boiled eggs
L - chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber
D - chicken, mushrooms, aubergines, courgettes (oven roasted)

Went to the gym for 2 hours after dinner then came home and had a really small bit of cheese whilst family stuffed their faces on pancakes with Nutella.

I drank lots of water and a couple of coffees (no milk).

Hopefully I'll be a 1lb down by the end of the week. We are going to a dinner party on Friday so will have to be very controlled about what I eat. Trouble is I will lose my will power after a couple of glasses of wine!

Flashinthepan · 01/03/2017 10:22

Today: bowl of branflakes with skimmed milk; grapes; cheese and pickle sandwich on wholegrain bread; carrot sticks with homemade kale pesto; and, pasta with mushroom, bacon and leek.

Can I get a view on whether that sounds like a lot of food? Pasta will be a cereal bowl quantity rather than a plateful.

Also will do a 2 mile run and Jillian 30 day shred or ripped in 30.

Thingsgettingstranger · 01/03/2017 16:35

Hey everyone, hope today's been good for you all.

Flash it doesn't sound like loads, but does sound a sufficient amount of healthy food Smile

Today for me haso been appalling. I've been ill so have eaten any crap that I can manage to keep down Sad Hope to be good tomorrow
