Need to lose 2 stone (at least)

I have no idea how it's gotten this bad. I had a baby almost 7 months ago and I'm still 2 stone overweight. It's awful, I hardly have any pictures of me with my baby as I'm so disgustingly fat.
I have no time to exercise except walking with the pram so really it's just all down to eating.
I'm 5"4 and a size 12, ideally for my frame I should be a size 8/10 but would be happy to get back into my size 10 jeans.
Anyone else in a similar situation that would like to swap tips? My meal plan for tomorrow is;

Breakfast: Porridge with semi skimmed milk
Snack: Apple
Lunch: leek & potato soup
Snack: carrot sticks & hummus
Dinner: Beans on wholemeal toast with a small amount of cheese

I think that comes to around 1200 calories but sounds quite filling? I don't have time to make a better dinner as husband will be out and I also have my 2yo nephew to look after so thought that was the easiest, healthy thing to make.

Raspberry ketone? What are they meant to do? I've nosed at those detox tea drinks (which are basically laxatives) which I think might actually help me as I go the toilet very infrequently. Haven't bought anything like that yet x

fatmummy87* I love the idea of the banana pancakes - how do you make them?

My husband made himself and DD1 American pancakes with Nutella & sliced bananas this morning. I have no idea where I found the willpower to decline them! Your version sounds like a good alternative

fatmummy87 · 26/02/2017 13:30

pugwall you get one medium ripe banana and mush it in a bowl with a fork until its pretty smooth, beat 2 large eggs until well mixed then pour into the banana and give a good mix. Heat oil or butter on a pan until hot then spoon the mixture on, 2 table spoons does for a pancake. Flip with a fish slice once the edges are looking cooked. The mixture makes 8 pancakes.

I had 3 pancakes at about 8.30 this morning and only just getting hungry now so they are pretty filling.

I'll definitely give them a go. Thanks!

Thingsgettingstranger · 26/02/2017 16:26

Can I join? I started at 138lbs. Am now 130. Goal is 115. My plan this week is:
Breakfast - 2/3 poached eggs with spinach or porridge or fruit
Lunch - Wholemeal sandwich with tuna/chicken/egg and big tub of salad
Tea - something healthy from my meal plan, with a protein, lots of veg and some carbs.
Also have 1 cup of coffee daily and maybe an extra fruit portion.
Trying to up cardio and also have some weights here too.

PugwallsSummer · 26/02/2017 20:46

Today's eating:

Breakfast - scrambled eggs (2) on wholemeal toast. A satsuma
Lunch - bowl of shredded wheat with SS milk and a banana
Dinner - homemade veggie pizza and an apple

I have also had a spritzer with a small amount of wine and some diet lemonade, as a Sunday evening treat.

Hope you lot don't mind me posting what I've eaten - I've done this on another forum in the past and it helped me stay on track.

FreshStart2017 · 26/02/2017 22:32

I've eaten 1200 calories today, no exercise unless 2 baskets of clothes being ironed and carried upstairs counts as exercise Grin.

It's my weigh day tomorrow so fingers crossed the scales show a good result since I've stuck to between 1000-1200cals all week. This is my 3rd WI, the 1st week I lost 3lbs, 2nd week 2lbs.

Thingsgettingstranger · 27/02/2017 07:01

Not at all Pug! That's a brilliant day!

Fresh well done on the weight loss so far and fingers crossed for this morning!

fatmummy87 · 27/02/2017 07:02

Morning all - today I'm having porridge for breakfast, ham & cheese sandwich for lunch, chilli con carne for dinner, satsumas for snacks.
Moving up to level 2 of the Chris Powell work outs.
Would be really pleased if another 2 or 3lbs came off this week.

Morning all!

Trying really hard to avoid stepping on the scales this morning - I prefer to do it weekly to see the result, but I'm always tempted to weigh myself every morning which can be a bit soul destroying!

Off for a blood test today. I have an under active thyroid and my meds went up in pregnancy. Worried that my dosage will be reduced to the point where I lose energy and start storing the calories again. Aaarrgghh.

Let us know how your weigh in goes, fresh - good luck! :)

PugwallsSummer · 27/02/2017 09:38

Morning ruby :)

FreshStart2017 · 27/02/2017 10:23

Morning everyone!

Weighed myself and I got 3lbs off this week Smile so that's 7lbs in 3 weeks. I'm so glad when I was ordering a Indian takeaway last night for my DH and DC's I stuck with tuna pasta salad that I made.

I'm doing small goals for myself so my next goal is losing 4lbs to get me into the next stone bracket. Hopefully I'll lose that in 2 weeks.

Good luck for your test today pugs

PugwallsSummer · 27/02/2017 12:47

That's a brilliant loss, fresh! Well done 👍

Angrybird123 · 27/02/2017 15:44

3lb is great. The raspberry ketones are appetite suppresants is all. I think at least part of it is that taking them helps me remember I am trying to lose weight. You are meant to drink 2l of water a day too but i am failing at that!

Rubyslippers7780 · 27/02/2017 16:39

Declined a chocolate eclaire today!! Did have a piece of tray bake later on...but am so craving sugar..wee one up since 4:30 am....

PugwallsSummer · 27/02/2017 17:30

Being offered treats, or being the only person not indulging in a treat - watching everyone else enjoy it - is just awful. DH is constantly buying/making sugary or carby treats for him & DD1 - it's a killer.

I don't think I could've resisted the chocolate eclair ruby!

DartmoorDoughnut · 27/02/2017 17:37

Can I join? I'm 5'2" and about 10st12lb, (scales aren't the most accurate!) just ordered The Body Coach books to get here tomorrow as low carbing works well for me, but I'm bf'ing so can't do really low carb sort of thing. Have zero time to myself other than occasionally at weekends so other than walking the dogs (which is getting slow now as toddler refuses to use his chair!) I can't really exercise in the week - baby is not quite 3months so not going down in the evenings yet plus I'm blinking shattered by then!

That's a lot of excuses Blush

fatmummy87 · 27/02/2017 19:58

Well done fresh!
dartmoor I don't have time for the gym or anything either so I've been doing Chris Powell's workouts from YouTube. Level one is 15 minutes, I'm now on level two which is 30 minutes.

Good day today :) saved myself enough calories to have a hot chocolate which I will have soon. I make it with 100% cocoa powder - it's lovely.

Tomorrow:

Breakfast: 2 oatcakes, Apple & cheese
Lunch: beans on toast
Dinner: garlic & herb chicken, corn on the cob & sweet potato fries
Snacks: satsumas if needed

OP posts:
PugwallsSummer · 27/02/2017 20:20

Today:

Breakfast: 2 weetabix with SS milk and a small drizzle of honey, a satsuma

Snack: Naked bar - cashew & date

Lunch: wholemeal sandwich with lean ham, fresh pineapple

Snack: pear

Dinner: homemade Thai green curry made with low fat coconut milk (was v watery. Disappointing)

Tomorrow will be bad. A friend is visiting and she has just text to tell me she has baked a chocolate cake 😫. And it's pancake day! Was planning to save calories for my pancakes but won't be able to now.

Batch74 · 27/02/2017 21:08

Can I join too?
I'm a lot bigger than most of you ladies; I'm 100kg and 5'10. I normally sit around the 80kg size 14. In fairness, I only had my little man 4 weeks ago but I've got to try and lose some of this weight - I hate being this big. It's not really my belly I'm worried about - I accept that will take a while but my legs look like tree stumps!! 😩 I know I shouldn't really start losing weight till 6 weeks but it's really depressing me. DS is on formula due to him not feeding on breast so I haven't got to keep my calorie up for him.
I'm trying to walk everyday but having had c section I'm not really able to start much other exercise just yet.

DartmoorDoughnut · 27/02/2017 21:11

Thanks for the recommendation fm87 the body coach does HIIT workouts too so will be following his YouTube ones at the weekends, figure something is better than nothing!

Not meal planning yet as have too much junk in the house Blush

TomHardyswife · 27/02/2017 23:03

Hi everyone!

Can I join? I'm 5ft 5 and I am the heaviest I have ever been unless pregnant. I spent last year on meds which ballooned me to well over a stone and a half heavier than my usual weight. As a result I now want to lose at least a stone and a half before I'm happy with my weight and can fit into my clothes. Despite being miserable slopping around in leggings and clothes nearly two sizes bigger than I usually am, my willpower is a joke. I've tried every single diet under the sun.. Am a member of a gym, have all the latest activity trackers, home gym equipment, have rejoined WW yet again four weeks ago but have only made it to one meeting as I just can't get used to the app and calculating points!

So here I am. I have watched my DH doing dry February using iron willpower ( I don't drink much so I didn't bother joining him) and have agreed to do "sugar free March" with him. This will KILL me as chocolate is my downfall, along with peanut butter. However, by cutting out chocolate and peanut butter this will save me a gazillion calories and hopefully I will start seeing results. That's my theory anyway.

Wish me luck! Smile
