Need to lose 2 stone (at least)

I have no idea how it's gotten this bad. I had a baby almost 7 months ago and I'm still 2 stone overweight. It's awful, I hardly have any pictures of me with my baby as I'm so disgustingly fat.
I have no time to exercise except walking with the pram so really it's just all down to eating.
I'm 5"4 and a size 12, ideally for my frame I should be a size 8/10 but would be happy to get back into my size 10 jeans.
Anyone else in a similar situation that would like to swap tips? My meal plan for tomorrow is;

Breakfast: Porridge with semi skimmed milk
Snack: Apple
Lunch: leek & potato soup
Snack: carrot sticks & hummus
Dinner: Beans on wholemeal toast with a small amount of cheese

I think that comes to around 1200 calories but sounds quite filling? I don't have time to make a better dinner as husband will be out and I also have my 2yo nephew to look after so thought that was the easiest, healthy thing to make.

Oh and btw just a warning - squats are rear but they build your legs rather than your bum and can lead to fairly bulky thighs - clamshells, lunging squats and abductors are better . I think there's a YouTube video about how to build bum without legs or something xx

Good day today. Turned down chocolate cake dessert, mil cut me a piece anyway so had to turn it down twice. 1200-1300 calories today and don't actually feel hungry. Short work out video in the morning and walked a couple of miles.

Meal plan for tomorrow:

Breakfast: porridge
Lunch: 2 boiled eggs & ham salad
Dinner: Mince & potatoes
Snacks: fruit / carrot sticks & hummus if req.

Well done turning down chocolate cake!

I've done ok today, I need to cut down on bread tomorrow I think so instead of a sandwich for lunch I'll have salad.

My time of the month has just started, very surprised I had the willpower to turn cake down tonight! I don't think my Friday morning weigh in is going to be accurate now but I will do it anyway.

TheEdge thanks for the good advice. I've used your formula and I'm aiming for 1400-1500 a day. I think previously I've tried to eat too little which has resulted in failure. So probably best to not deprive myself too much and not to go mad on an unsustainable exercise regime. Went swimming for 30 mins this evening, then had a reasonably small roast dinner with lots of veg.

purplepandas · 22/02/2017 21:52

Still going and checking in to report that I have been pretty restrained and sensible. Off for work tomorrow and Fri so hopefully will be ok. Always find that harder.

Loving the HIT workouts for 8 mins. Going to give those a shot. Thanks!

fatmummy87 · 23/02/2017 08:30

Welcome edge thanks for all the info!

Morning everyone. Today is going to be a good day! Pretty heavy snow here so a day in the house for us.

Will do the you tube workout this morning (think I will do it twice as it's not too hard) and maybe a bit of yoga / stretching this afternoon.

I have a night out 3 weeks on Saturday (so almost 4 weeks after starting), I wonder if I can lose half a stone before then. Seems like a reasonable short term target.

purple I hope you enjoy your days off.

And beans and cheese on toast TBH isn't really that healthy - around 200 kcals of mainly carbs in one slice of bread, 400kcals ( and 25g of carbs) in one can of baked beans and cheese is mostly fat ( 35g fat and 25g carbs in just 100g) and is also 200kcals in just 50g !!!

Eek no way is mine that many calories. My bread is 138 per slice (I didn't have butter), I only had half a can of beans and 25g of cheese. It was defo a convenience food rather than a normal dinner though as usually I would have 2 vegetables in my dinner as a minimum.

Day two was a bit bad (not terrible but it was a stressful day and I'd necked a glas sof wine DH poured me before remembering my plan was to be alcohol free! Grin ) But day 3 was fine.
So far, walked between 5-11km each day
Also done Zumba on Day 1, Power yoga on Day 3 and will do yoga day 4 and swim 50 lengths on Day 6.

KatieKaboom · 23/02/2017 13:59

Beans on toast is great for you.

FreshStart2017 · 23/02/2017 15:51

For lunch I had 2 boiled eggs and salad. 100g grapes and 1 litre of water so far. I'm trying to decide on a WW meal or beans on toast Grin for dinner.

fatmummy87 · 23/02/2017 15:59

freshstart snap on the lunch.

Our dinner will be mince and potatoes - we half the amount of meat, double the amount of veg and do half white potato, half sweet potato. It's lovely!

Had no chocolate, crisps, biscuits, cakes or anything like that since Sunday. My husband had gotten into the habit of bringing home a dessert for every dinner when previously we might have just had one on a Sunday - I asked him to stop so that helps.

geordie I'm jealous of all the exercise you've managed - well done! I probably won't have a drink until 18th march but I've only drank a couple of times since having ds so more bothered about no 🍫 Cake

Thursday is the night we all eat at different times due to work/DC's hobbies so it's always something quick.

I've done no exercise today so I'll need to work harder on the exercise bike tonight.

I know what you mean about dessert, my DH bought a cheesecake on monday and it was delicious but so many calories along with cream and ice-cream Blush. I've decided that monday nights I'll allow myself a treat, I can't be too strict as I had a dodgy gallbladder so I know if I eat too little it will cause me to be ill again.

LexieLulu · 23/02/2017 16:20

Just come across this thread and feel
The need to join in.

I'm about 5' 1" or 2" weighed myself this morning and I'm a bit gutted 10stone on the dot.

In the summer I started slimming world. Mid November I was 9s 2lb and I lost myself with Christmas and just life. My target was 9s, I was so close!

I do a lot of sport and I'm very active normally (I say normally as today I've not left the house due to this storm). But I eat so much chocolate and bread. I know I'm doing it but I always think "one bar of chocolate won't harm me" or "I'll eat good tomorrow" and tomorrow never comes.

Recently started work after maternity leave, occasionally chaotic and I don't prep lunch due to babies being hard work in morning... end up eating a sausage roll.

It's not like I don't know where I'm going wrong, it's that I keep doing it regardless.

So going to start from Monday (DH is taking me out for a meal tomorrow and Sunday I am seeing friends for drinks for the first time since Xmas).

Anyone got any good filling lunch meal ideas for work? They have a microwave and a toaster?

LexieLulu · 23/02/2017 16:23

I'm thinking of going to m&s to check out their healthy ready meals. Failing that I will try iceland slimming world meals (never really found a ready meal I like) x

toffeeboffin · 23/02/2017 18:15

I'll join you lot if you don't mind?

I've got exactly two stone to lose. It's brutal! Combination of baby weight and Christmas weight.

I've been really watching what I'm eating for the past month and only today managed to fit into my size 14 jeans. But it's an incentive to keep going! I'm so sick of wearing leggings and long tops, I've hundreds of clothes that I can't fit into.

My plan is to stick to 1500 cals per day and reduce crappy carbs, no bread or pasta. Lots of walking and eventually cycling when weather gets better /baby starts sleeping more.

Today so far I've eaten :
Porridge, ff milk
Loads of coffee
Big bowl of homemade lentil and veg soup, chicken and cottage cheese salad with chick peas

Dinner will be either fajitas or chicken salad.

Lots of water.

Am so tempted by a leftover slice of birthday cake on the fridge : it's a salted caramel biscuit base with choc mousse ConfusedCake

fatmummy87 · 24/02/2017 07:44

Drumroll please..... 2lbs off Smile

Plan today:

Toast & peanut butter
Lentil soup
Chicken & lots of veg
Fruit for snacks

Exercise video and a long walk.

Happy Friday everyone!

Hello toffee! How old is your little one? I'm desperate to get back on my bike but not much time, I might be able to squeeze an odd weekend cycle in but that would be it, love swimming too but going with the baby doesn't get me much exercise haha.

Hi, can I join? I lost a lot of weight before Christmas, but I still have around a stone and a half to 2 stone to loose. I think I'm around 11 stone (5ft 9) at the moment, but have been mainlining sugarden and booze before lent, so possibly a bit higher just now. I'm ignoring it until Monday though, which will be my weighing day. At 9 to 9.5 stone I'm a comfortable size 8, I'm a 10/12 are the moment. A lot better than this time last year (13.5 stone ) but still far from ideal. . .

fatmummy87 · 24/02/2017 07:59

horace you've done brilliantly losing that weight! You can give us tips.

I weighed in this morning ..
10st7!! Whoop! That's 3lb lost in just under a week!
I feel very slim today Grin
Struggled last night and ended up having a wispa hot chocolate , which was surprisingly only 110 cals! Took the edge of my choc cravings. Normally I would have had a share bag of minstrels Blush

fatmummy87 · 24/02/2017 08:33

Well done live!

3lbs off for me, partly down to TOTM but still pleased. Was 11st 4, now 11st 1, so I'm aiming to be 10-something next week.
Well done everyone 😀
