Need to lose 2 stone (at least)

fatmummy87 · 19/02/2017 20:26

I have no idea how it's gotten this bad. I had a baby almost 7 months ago and I'm still 2 stone overweight. It's awful, I hardly have any pictures of me with my baby as I'm so disgustingly fat.
I have no time to exercise except walking with the pram so really it's just all down to eating.
I'm 5"4 and a size 12, ideally for my frame I should be a size 8/10 but would be happy to get back into my size 10 jeans.
Anyone else in a similar situation that would like to swap tips? My meal plan for tomorrow is;

Breakfast: Porridge with semi skimmed milk
Snack: Apple
Lunch: leek & potato soup
Snack: carrot sticks & hummus
Dinner: Beans on wholemeal toast with a small amount of cheese

I think that comes to around 1200 calories but sounds quite filling? I don't have time to make a better dinner as husband will be out and I also have my 2yo nephew to look after so thought that was the easiest, healthy thing to make.

Brilliant, well done everyone!

geordiedench · 24/02/2017 14:26

Hi Horace, welcome!

Well done everyone.
3lb loss here too. Down from 11 st 3lb to 11 st. But I feel enormous for some reason. :(
I've done a fair bit of exercise this week, but had a few days off work which made it easier.

Penrithtearooms · 24/02/2017 14:42

Hiya, can I join please? I'm 5'5 and around 11stone. Don't have scales so can only weigh in around mil s house. I've read through most of the thread. I too have a baby.
I've been reading Paul McKenna books to lose weight.. so as well as eating only healthy things and trying to cut out sugar (apart from my vice hot chocolate) the idea is to stop eating when you are full and the weight theoretically should fall off slowly. You are supposed to put your fork down until your mouthful has been eaten. And drink lots of water. And always leave a bit on your plate.

Had a relapse a week ago because I was ill...but back on it. Does anyone use a pedometer?

blueteatowel · 24/02/2017 14:43

Can I join too please
I'm hoping by putting it down on paper (OK, the WWW) I'll be prompted to do something about my weight and stay committed.

I'm 11.7 stone and 5'2 Blush. I have a love affair with cheese and wine and mainly work from home so not even getting the walk-to-the-station exercise. I rather like being curvy so my first aim is 10 stone and then ideally 9.5.

I've just got myself an exercise DVD that I aim to do 3-4 times a week and to try and eat less cheese and wine and biscuits and crisps

fatmummy87 · 24/02/2017 15:00

Have a stinker of a headache this afternoon, don't know if it's tiredness (ds would only sleep in my arms from 2am-5am 😭) or the sugar detox I've been having this week.

FreshStart2017 · 24/02/2017 18:42

Welcome to all the new peep's 👋

mummy87 I felt like utter crap when I went cold turkey with fizzy juice, the headaches were unbelievable. I now allow myself a can of diet Pepsi at dinner, I don't feel so bad about 1 can as I'm drinking 2 litres of water too whereas before I'd probably have 6 cans in one day Blush

Chicken breast with garlic bread and salad for my dinner tonight.

I'm tempted to buy a fitbit and new scales to keep me on track! ......or maybe a cheaper version of a fitbit.

toffeeboffin · 24/02/2017 20:08

She's 7 weeks today mummy 87 and currently asleep in front of Breaking Bad! (bad mother alert) Blush

Today has been OK so far. I've been out for a long walk with the pram and done loads of bobbing about the house, laundry, cooking, up and down the stairs etc, so that counts as exercise, right?

Porridge for breakfast, two hard boiled eggs, two pears.

I couldn't be bothered to cook an omelette for lunch so had leftover pork casserole and rice : I never learn because rice makes me hungry so lo and behold I had a bowl of soup a bit later on. Not so bad but still.

DD has miraculously been sleeping today so I made a big chicken and lentil soup and also a big chicken casserole with red pepper and lentils, we'll have this for supper with either mash or pasta for DH and DS and probably just the casserole for me.

Everyone's doing so great, KOKO Smile

fatmummy87 · 24/02/2017 20:29

God toffee at 7 weeks you're doing well to have done any of that! Take it easy Smile

Morning all!
Have done exercise video this morning and had toast & peanut butter for breakfast. Probably just have a salad for lunch as we are going out for burgers later Shock

I know I shouldn't have but I weighed myself again this morning to see if the time of the month water weight had come off and sure enough I'm another pound down so 3lbs this week Grin

LexieLulu · 25/02/2017 10:46

I had a crappy night last night with the kids (awake till after 10pm, DH at work), so ended up eating chocolate.

This is what I do all the bloody time! Sad annoyed with myself.

Going to rugby training at 12, I don't want to go, it's been raining all morning so it will be a mud bath, but I have a holiday booked in 10 weeks that I need to sort my body out for.

Anyone got any recommendations that really work to fade stretch marks too? I have been using bio oil but no success. I recall the sun faded them loads last holiday? So I'm debating sunbeds

fatmummy87 · 25/02/2017 10:49

lexie oils and creams etc don't work on stretch marks. Time and a tan help (even a fake tan). My stretch marks are horrendous - look like I've been attacked by a tiger (even have them on my thighs!) I think if I was slimmer I might not mind them as much but I think I will be buying some one piece swimsuits for my holiday in august!

OP posts:
LexieLulu · 25/02/2017 11:04

As I'm slimming mine are going more like crepe paper. I don't know what I prefer!

I'm def going for a nice one piece. I might get nosing on ASOS tonight.

Who'd have bloody kids! I have tits like spaniels ears, a belly that's been maul by a tiger and a destroyed vagina Grin

fatmummy87 · 25/02/2017 18:58

Well I had a chicken burger (didn't eat the bun) & sweet potato fries - turned down an Oreo milkshake but I was very tempted. Going out for lunch again tomorrow Confused

lexie I have to buy mine from Freya / bravissimo etc as I have 34GGs (32G before ds, I thought they were meant to get smaller after breastfeeding!). They're £££ so I'm annoyed I won't be able to wear the lovely bikinis I already have.

Holà everyone,

Wow mummy 87, three pounds, good job! Haven't bothered with the scales though coat feels looser ... optimistic

Just been out for a walk with DS so at least that's a bit of exercise. Might take DD out later on in the pram (only 2pm here).

Had a bit of a rough night with DD, could have slept for another hour or seven but once I'd had my usual four cups of coffee I felt better!

Had peanut butter and banana toast and porridge for breakfast then soup and a small salad for lunch. Dinner will be sausage and mash and loads of veg.

No wine tonight even though I fancy it!

Grumpbum · 25/02/2017 19:47

Today hasn't been full of kids parties ending with prosecco with the mums, oops back in it tomorrow

FreshStart2017 · 25/02/2017 21:34

I've had 1000 calories in food and worked off 400 calories on the exercise bike.

Food wasn't very healthy tho - 2 slices of toast and cheese spread for lunch, spaghetti and toast for dinner Blush, snacks was a fredo and popcorn. It's my food shop day tomorrow so the fridge and cupboards are bare.

PugwallsSummer · 25/02/2017 21:52

Please can I join?

I had a baby on Boxing Day. I gained 3 stone during the pregnancy (I'm only 5 feet tall so can't pull off weight gain at all!!). So far I have lost a stone & 5Ibs but still nearly 2 stone to go. This would get me back in my size 8/10 clothes.

Really fed up with having nothing to wear and feeling a mess, so I am committed to losing this weight!

Today I ate:
Breakfast - banana
Lunch - rice & veg and a nectarine
Dinner - (skipped a proper dinner as I caved and had a chocolate brownie while shopping with DD1 😫)

I am going to try to walk as many of the school runs as possible next week, perhaps with DD in sling...

seven201 · 25/02/2017 22:08

I'm joining too please. I should want to lose 2 stone but am aiming for 1 for now. My dd is 8 and a bit months and I'm having an operation in June so I want to be healthier for then. I want a doctor to tell me my operation will be less dangerous and/or I'll recover more quickly if I am in or least nearly in the 'normal' bmi range, but I've been too scared/embarrassed to ask them. I think I actually eat ok meals etc. But I cannot resist treats AT ALL! I am a comfort eater. If I have no biscuits in I will make a cake and then eat the whole thing in less than 2 days. If I do buy a pack of biscuits they will often be gone within half a day Blush. My will power is shit. To begin with I lost quite a lot of weight through breastfeeding, but I've used the excuse of having a difficult baby to eat any crap I want between meals. I need to get my shit together. I hate my chins and belly the most. I am ashamed of myself really. Tomorrow I am going to weigh myself and log through my fitness pal. I should probably start running again (I got a few weeks into couch to 5k before I became pregnant) or joining fitness classes etc. Will be easier now the weather isn't so yuk and dark.

WE CAN DO IT!!!

fatmummy87 · 25/02/2017 22:11

Hi pugwall I gained 3 stone during my pregnancy too Sad I've lost 2 stone of it but was a stone heavier than I wanted to be pre pregnancy anyway.

I'm planning banana pancakes for breakfast - they're literally just made with banana & eggs so I can give ds them too Smile he'll be happy getting the same food as mummy & daddy for once!

Can i join you all on this thread please? I have two DC aged 3 and 1 and have at least 2 stone to lose Blush. I've just been so exhausted since my littlest arrived that I have no motivation to exercise and just sit about in the evening eating chocolate. I feel very fat, unglamorous and have found myself avoiding social events because I feel so embarrassed as I used to be really athletic and sporty. Meh!

fatmummy87 · 26/02/2017 08:48

Hello seven & cg!

So today I've had banana pancakes for breakfast, we're going out for lunch and I will have chilli con carne, then for dinner later I will just have oatcakes with an apple & small bit of cheese. Satsumas for snacks if needed. Going to do my exercise video soon - moving up to level 2 tomorrow.

Hi all - can i join? Single mum 2 dcs and work full time. I am usually fine during the day but hit the wine and snacks after they are in bed. Am short and at least 2 stone over. Exercise is difficult as no childcare so YouTube stuff best (have Shredded in the past). Planning a 6 week bootcamp of weetabix, soup , omellettes etc am also taking raspberry ketone tablets and powercleanse..does seem to work in supressing appetite. Has anyone else tried them? I've lost about 5lb in a month using them do far but now I want to up the loss. No booze or chocolate I think!

Sallyswot1 · 26/02/2017 09:29

I drift in and out of slimming world. It's basically healthy eating, and you eat yourself thin. It does involve being organised, and cooking from scratch. There aren't the red and green days of old, it's much easier now. I found the classes supportive, and when I had to pay £5 a week, I made damn sure I lost weight. I'm too mean to pay £5 and not succeed!! I went after last dd was born as I was almost 40. The weight has more or less stayed off since. I have slight gains, but then reign myself back in!
Doesn't work for everyone, but I found it great.

FreshStart2017 · 26/02/2017 11:14

Angrybird I was reading about raspberry ketone tablets a few weeks ago and I was tempted to try them but I just haven't got around to buying yet!

I put my details into the BMI calculator last night and I'm so shocked the result said I was obese Sad. Obviously I'm overweight, I'm a size 14 but didn't think I was in the obese range!
