Hello,

I've mentioned this on a couple of other threads but I hope you don't mind if I start my own thread as I have 2 really important goals this year and want to tackle them both, together.

This morning, I am 14 stone exactly. I'm 5'1' and have never even had kids! (I'm 33). I gave up booze 2 years ago so now time to tackle the cake/takeaway habit. If I lose 2lbs a month, I can be 10 stone in time for (hopefully!) going to Wimbledon this year.

I have taken some "before" shots of myself nekkid in the mirror and entered my weight on fitbit. And am stocking up on healthy food (low GI type idea). I also have a wee stepper machine in the living room so I need to get on that.

RE the debt - long story short this was due to slight overspending mounting up and then being out of work for a while. It's partly overdraft, rest credit card. I should be able to pay this off if I just stop filling my trolley with things I don't need, esp in Tesco. And if I stop buying clothes/random crap. So Lidl it is, going forward! I probably won't clear the lot but if I could get it under 5k that would be great.

So here we go any followers and support is much appreciated.

I wish you luck in whatever goals you have for yourself!

I look forward to Boxing Day 2017 when I should be slim, healthy and financially sound.

WE CAN DO THIS!

Oh, Row, cherry and walnut sound delicious. Smile
I think I'm sabotaging myself for tomorrow. Sad I've just had the biggest meal I've had since starting. Lots of it were peas and baby carrots though. I hope one day doesn't mess up my reading.
Hi WholeL0ttaRosie. Damn those pesky scales! Wink Grin

Rowgtfc72 · 05/02/2017 18:00

Oh yes WholeL0ttaRosie, UTM indeed. With or without BogleWink

WholeL0ttaRosie · 05/02/2017 19:33

Rowgtfc I was looking at your username and wondering if that's what it was. I'm not a fan myself but have been to BP (many, many years ago)

Hello comrades! There's some excellent work going on here. This is the time when most people's resolutions are long forgotten, but we are staying the course.

I seem to be a bit stuck at 13st 1...and need to weigh myself about 10 times before I get a consistent reading...so I've put a new battery in the scales...will see what they say tomorrow.

I've got some olive oil spray from tesco to assist with scrambled eggs. Trying to vary my breakfasts though - got some lean bacon and some venison sausages from Lidl...also Greek yoghurt (full fat) for when I'm running late or not hungry ...although I find I need to go easy on that stuff or it can interfere with weight loss.

I've invested in some new tupperware to try and make packed lunches easier. And done a bit of housework today so I feel clean and motivated!

February is a short month so hoping to not be up to the max of my overdraft this month for the first time in several months! Am keeping a careful note of my overtime and expenses as well. Grin

Life was shit without pepsi max though, so I'm back on it!
And not been to the gym for at least a fortnight! Had some family problems which took up all my energy.

I've booked my annual leave for April and July though so at least i have something to look forward to. Grin

Here's to a good week, guys!

5 stone and £13k....argh...

ChickenVindaloo2 · 05/02/2017 22:00

Do you have an aim, Costalot, for the next month/6months?

ChickenVindaloo2 · 06/02/2017 20:05

I used those scales in boots today and they seem to indicate my home scales are pretty accurate. I weighed 13 st 0lbs at home nekkid this morning and 13st 4lbs in boots (fully clothed, fed and with boots on)

It also said I was 42% fat ie 5st 7lbs of me is fat.

Hi everyone. Smile Well, I got weighed today and I was a bit disappointed. I lost 9lbs. I know that's better than gaining but it works out at 2 1/4lbs per week. I gave up so many crisps, cakes and chocolate for that! I used to eat about 4 chocolate bars a day as well as cake. Maybe I tried too hard. Didn't eat enough and my metabolism slowed down? Anyway, I was pleased with my inch loss from my waist, 3 1/2 ", one from my bust and 2 from my hips.
I'm investing in a stepper this weekend so hopefully that will help as well.
Good luck all, hope you are doing ok?

ChickenVindaloo2 · 06/02/2017 22:01

What was your start weight kitty? And your age? What diet are you using? Is it 9lbs in a month? If so that's pretty darn good. Remember a pound of fat is 3500 cals ie 10-15 choc bars!

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 07/02/2017 00:16

Start weight was 15 stone, am 43 years old, diet wise I'm kind of doing Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin. (Listening to the CD, trying to eat when I'm hungry, apart from breakfast.) I've cut down the portion size on my evening meal. Trying to stop when I feel full. Eating low cal/fat when I can. Don't usually have a third meal, usually just a piece of fruit or a Soreen bar or something.
It was 9lbs in a month yes. Thank you for showing me how many choc bars equal a calorie, it has helped. Smile

ChickenVindaloo2 · 07/02/2017 04:05

Hmmm...fruit and soreen loaf are sugars. Eaten alone they will make u hungry and mess with your blood sugar. Have you considered reducing sugar rather than fat?

Rowgtfc72 · 07/02/2017 09:31

Cracked last night and had oven chips and homedone chicken burger. Carb hangover this morning! No text for work either so lbs up and £s down.

73kittycat73, thats a good maintainable weight loss. Well done on the inch loss.

Chicken, may brave the fat measurer on Sat in boots!

73kittycat73 · 07/02/2017 14:29

I'd like to reduce my sugar Chicken but don't know how. I know that sounds silly. I'm vegie so already restricted there on what I eat. I don't know what I'd eat instead of fruit and snacks.
Thanks Row. Smile

ChickenVindaloo2 · 07/02/2017 19:43

Hey kitty - how about nuts/cheese/yoghurt/Crudites&hummous? If you're having something sugary, try and have some fat or protein with it.

I'm back up 2lbs from yesterday but been the the toilet and AF is almost upon us once more. Trying not to let a plateua deter me or put me in a bad mood! Trying to think long term!

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 08/02/2017 01:22

Thanks Chicken. I do eat yogurts and occasionally cheese. I do like nuts too, specially cashews! Smile
I hope you are doing better than me tonight. I have successfully fallen off the wagon! Yesterday I had 2 slices of chocolate cake. Today I have pigged on white chocolate (Lots of) a packet of crisps, and a really big bowl of frosted shredded wheats. Just come to my senses and realised I'm undoing all my hard work, so back on it tomorrow!
Hope you manage to keep your mood up. Tell AF to sod off! (If only! lol.) Grin

Lucysdiamonds · 08/02/2017 01:42

I'll join in .. I'm 12 stone 11 and 5 foot 7 .. could do with getting down to 10 stone but would be happy with 10 and a half.

I've no debt but could do with cutting down on buying random crap and spending so much on food.

73kittycat73 · 08/02/2017 03:15

I've no debt but could do with cutting down on buying random crap and spending so much on food.

I could have written that myself! Grin I get a kick out of online grocery shopping (Am agoraphobic so can't go out to the supermarkets.). I look forward to it being delivered and seeing my 'goodies.'
Hi btw! Smile
Well, I obviously haven't finished my binge as I ate two more yogurts. Not the low cal ones either. Hmm

Lucysdiamonds · 08/02/2017 10:30

73 me too ... I'm not agoraphobic but struggle to go out sometimes due to severe anxiety and depression.

I eat too much bread and junk.

Rowgtfc72 · 08/02/2017 13:03

Got to do a quick tesco run Fri straight after work. Must avoid nice food. Cracked today and had 2 slices of toast mid morning. No work again today so my body doesn't know if it's breakfast ,dinner or teatime! Had a call for work tomorrow so guaranteed to be starving Angry

73kittycat73 · 09/02/2017 01:05

How has your day gone Row? I had a slightly bigger tea but I haven't had any chocolate, crisps or cake. Grin The most I've had is a 10 calorie jelly. Was dying to eat something earlier but I think it's wearing off a bit now.

Harriedharriet · 09/02/2017 14:28

Chicken how is your spending? Do you use a credit card or Debit? I was in a bad way a couple of years ago and besides earning more ect. the most important change was NOT SPENDING. It was very difficult actually, especially the dribs and drabs.
What had the most impact was a cash withdrawal once a week and a credit card that I did not know the number of. Both cards were left at home in a safe place. If I saw something I wanted to buy I could have it....tomorrow. It rarely came! I stopped on line consumption. As I got used to this I noticed that my friends with good financial health don't spend without thinking it through.
Also, have a look at the interest you are paying on that overdraft.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 09/02/2017 20:39

Hey all,

I was 13st 2 again today...up from 13.0...but again, ahem...went to the toilet later in the morning...

I think I might have to knock the Greek yoghurt on the head. It's delicious and I can take in too many calories that way.

I got a wee unexpected cash bonus today of £100 (long story) Grin

I use a debit card for anything more than £10. My one credit card is maxed out so can't use that anyway.

What with overtime money, I should pay off overdraft in the next few months then can start hammering down that credit card.

Hi Chicken. Smile Did you weigh yourself after (Almost wrote done the deed, but that has a whole different meaning on here! Shock lol )?
Nice one on the cash. Are you going to buy anything nice with it?

ChickenVindaloo2 · 10/02/2017 19:09

Hi Kitty, I was 13st 3!!!!! (TWAF?!!!) this am! I ate late last night though, constipated and nearly TOTM.

I have been VERY strict today though. In fact, work laid on a free buffet lunch today and I didn't have any! Just stuck to my packed lunch. So hoping for one of those typical "suddenly lose 4lbs overnight" moments that seems to happen on low carb diets!

Re the cash - I filled up the car with petrol and stashed the rest in a tin for emergencies!

How is everyone else doing, 6 weeks in?

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 10/02/2017 22:36

Well, well done on not giving in at lunch time. Smile Star Have you tried measuring yourself? Rather than loosing pounds you might be losing inches?
Sorry to hear about your constipation, I know from experience that's not fun! Do you have anything in for it?
I've brought a stepper from Argos, arrived today. Then I saw a deal on dumbbells so brought them too. lol I have the motivation in my head, lets just see if it translates to my body! Grin
Good luck everyone, lets keep going!
