Hello,

I've mentioned this on a couple of other threads but I hope you don't mind if I start my own thread as I have 2 really important goals this year and want to tackle them both, together.

This morning, I am 14 stone exactly. I'm 5'1' and have never even had kids! (I'm 33). I gave up booze 2 years ago so now time to tackle the cake/takeaway habit. If I lose 2lbs a month, I can be 10 stone in time for (hopefully!) going to Wimbledon this year.

I have taken some "before" shots of myself nekkid in the mirror and entered my weight on fitbit. And am stocking up on healthy food (low GI type idea). I also have a wee stepper machine in the living room so I need to get on that.

RE the debt - long story short this was due to slight overspending mounting up and then being out of work for a while. It's partly overdraft, rest credit card. I should be able to pay this off if I just stop filling my trolley with things I don't need, esp in Tesco. And if I stop buying clothes/random crap. So Lidl it is, going forward! I probably won't clear the lot but if I could get it under 5k that would be great.

So here we go any followers and support is much appreciated.

I wish you luck in whatever goals you have for yourself!

I look forward to Boxing Day 2017 when I should be slim, healthy and financially sound.

WE CAN DO THIS!

Hey guys, oh yes, I'm completely committed. I don't cheat even a tiny bit eg not even one bit of a sweet or anything.

But it's not hard - I'm eating plenty of nice meat, fish, eggs, nuts, berries, salad, cheese and some dark chocolate. I don't feel deprived at all.

Now I've been paid I'm going for a big shop at Lidl!

Good luck to all you other losers, let's keep this shit going. We wanna post our fabulous figures on here in a few months time. :-)

Very well done chicken Flowers

I've been wondering if a stone in a month is doable. February here I come. This weekend I am eating complete rubbish. I need to get it out of my system. Yesterday I ate too much and have woken up with stomach ache and with what feels like the worst hangover ever. This has prompted me to not diet but try the lifestyle change.
Going to make five days worth of food and shove it in the freezer. Any ideas what i can do for a snack when i get in from work at half two? Was thinking ryvita and soft cheese?

Will post my weight Mon then I may need some arse kicking to get me through February Grin

ChickenVindaloo2 · 28/01/2017 06:40

Hey Rowtgc - a stone is doable in a month if you are as overweight as me! Probably easier if you chuck in some exercise but it's 80% diet.

For me, Ryvita just screams "I'm on a diet" and makes me want chips. If you like it, that's cool. I personally also find Iose more weight when I keep my dairy low-ish but some options for a snack/small meal at 2.30:

Walnuts & blueberries
Greek yoghurt
Cheese cubes & pickled onion & pineapple (1970s style!)
Smoked salmon & cream cheese
scrambled eggs
fresh soup
Tuna & avocado

see...I know what to do...I just don't do it! (Until now!)

Good luck, I think planning and food prep are the key to success. And eggs for breakfast!

Rowgtfc72 · 28/01/2017 06:52

Thanks. I do actually like ryvita. I love all the healthy stuff, I just love the unhealthy stuff more! Breakfast is oats, plain oats and water nuked in the microwave because I don't actually have a sweet tooth. Gets me to dinner time. It's teatime it all goes wrong. I live off jacket potatoes, just don't have healthy stuff with them.

I bike 55 miles a week but all that does is maintains my weight, I'm not losing. I have a skipping rope, punchbag and enthusiastic nine yr old as a personal trainer. She could do with losing a bit too so she doesn't know she's coming along for the ride.

I'm the same, I know what to do, it's just actually doing it! Have got that magic 1 stone in my head, people at work are going yeah, right. I love a challenge. And yes I'm lucky in the sense I am big enough for a few changes to make a lot of differenceGrin

Hi Row, have you heard of these: www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/soreen-banana-lunchbox-loaves-x5
I first saw them here, on Mumsnet, tried them, they are delicious! Only 94 cals a bar. They are very stodgy, don't let the small size fool you, they are filling. Doesn't feel like 'diet' food either. Smile

Rowgtfc72 · 29/01/2017 12:35

Not sure my stomach would like those. It has a list of things that send me running to the loo! Soreen is something I used to eat by the whole pack-not sure id trust myself with that, but thanks anyway for the suggestion.
I've been making walnut and cherry flapjack. Just have a problem with eating only one piece. Might keep it in the freezerSmile

73kittycat73 · 29/01/2017 17:37

No problem. Smile Just in case it helps anyone else, there are also 10 calorie jellies, like this from Asda: groceries.asda.com/search/10%20calorie%20jelly

Rowgtfc72 · 30/01/2017 06:21

Ok. Healthy living starts today!

Declaring 15st. Not declaring my waist size, nearly hit the floor in shockShock

Cup of tea and porridge for breakfast it is.

Mfp all set up.

73kittycat73 · 30/01/2017 15:03

I was (Hopefully) 15 stone when I started too Row. My waist was 48". Blush I get weighed and measured next Monday so hopefully, will report less! Grin

Rowgtfc72 · 30/01/2017 19:34

Mine was 45! Last time I measured it I was mortified it was 39!

Well, 45 calories under my allowance, hungry but i can live with it. Went out for lunch and chose healthy and survived. Currently eating a low fat small yoghurt while dh and the ninja eat my birthday cake Angry

73kittycat73 · 31/01/2017 16:24

Hi everyone. How are we all doing? Can't wait to get weighed on Monday. Smile

Rowgtfc72 · 31/01/2017 18:10

Two days in, so far so good! Keeping out of the fridge and getting more hours at work so February's direct debits will go out.

Going for Sun morning weigh ins.

Have a good week everyoneSmile

ChickenVindaloo2 · 31/01/2017 20:18

My waist was 38 inches when I started on Boxing Day.
It's at least 2 inches smaller now but my official measuring day will be tomorrow.
Good luck to those weighing in soon!
And well done to everyone who is still on course - this is the time of the year that most New Year Resolutions give up!

A month in, 13lbs down and 2k paid off the CC.

God it's been a long month though.

Plan going forward is 1300 cals per day, 10k steps a day, weigh-in Saturday and I am allowed a 'free evening' if I've had a loss. So a take away and a few glasses of wine... nothing major.... but I need a bit of leeway otherwise I wont stay with it.

73kittycat73 · 01/02/2017 01:39

Congrats CV with the inch loss, and loosing 13lbs crunchymum! Star
I've just had a packet of crisps, but it's ok, I've taken it into my calorie allowance. First one I've had in weeks too, and very tasty it was. Grin

Darlink · 01/02/2017 03:58

Well done OP.
What a great start!

Rowgtfc72 · 01/02/2017 17:44

Well done Chicken and Crunchy.

Day three and starving. Couple more days and my body should adjust to not getting so many calories. Only two more days,

73kittycat73 · 01/02/2017 18:06

You can do it Row! What kind of diet are you doing? Calorie counting?
I'm doing a combination of counting, and Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin.

NapQueen · 01/02/2017 18:09

Can I join? Same, 4 stone to lose, and only 5'2

We owe 7k so aiming for that too.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 01/02/2017 18:48

Hey comrades, all welcome aboard!

I weighed 13st 2 today irritatingly - 2lbs up from last Friday. But then I, ahem, went to the toilet so hoping for a better weight tomorrow Grin

Here are my measurements: (inches)
Waist Tum Hips Leg
Month 1 38 44 44 29
Month 2 36.5 43 42 27

73kittycat73 · 01/02/2017 18:50

At least you can see you're loosing inches CV. Smile I understand how disheartening it is to diet all week and it not show on the scales. It's so hard to loose, so very easy to put on! Confused

Rowgtfc72 · 01/02/2017 18:59

Hormones mess with weight Wink

Inch loss shows more than weight loss I've found.

Just watching what I eat, eating less than I used to and trying to make healthier choices. Hence I'm hungry. Not used to normal sized portions!

ChickenVindaloo2 · 01/02/2017 19:02

Thanks guys! I shall not give up! I shall not be daunted! If I keep going I will be slim!

I'd thought about getting some body fat percentage scales eg the fitbit ones but the reviews seem pretty mixed.

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 02/02/2017 17:46

I was looking at digital scales myself the other day. I have a bog standard one and when I'm down to loosing a few pounds at a time I want to be able to read the scales accurately. It's a bit hard to do on my current ones.
