Help me MN, I have 4 stone to lose and 10k debt to pay off!

Hello,

I've mentioned this on a couple of other threads but I hope you don't mind if I start my own thread as I have 2 really important goals this year and want to tackle them both, together.

This morning, I am 14 stone exactly. I'm 5'1' and have never even had kids! (I'm 33). I gave up booze 2 years ago so now time to tackle the cake/takeaway habit. If I lose 2lbs a month, I can be 10 stone in time for (hopefully!) going to Wimbledon this year.

I have taken some "before" shots of myself nekkid in the mirror and entered my weight on fitbit. And am stocking up on healthy food (low GI type idea). I also have a wee stepper machine in the living room so I need to get on that.

RE the debt - long story short this was due to slight overspending mounting up and then being out of work for a while. It's partly overdraft, rest credit card. I should be able to pay this off if I just stop filling my trolley with things I don't need, esp in Tesco. And if I stop buying clothes/random crap. So Lidl it is, going forward! I probably won't clear the lot but if I could get it under 5k that would be great.

So here we go any followers and support is much appreciated.

I wish you luck in whatever goals you have for yourself!

I look forward to Boxing Day 2017 when I should be slim, healthy and financially sound.

WE CAN DO THIS!

Bike five miles to work, work on a production line stood for seven hours lifting and carrying and then bike five miles home. Need a certain amount of calories to sustain this!
According to Mfp I'm doing between 1400 and 1600 calories a day. All is well when I'm at work, porridge (oats and water no milk or sugar) at ream. First break I have half a homemade cheese ham salad wrap. Second break other half of wrap and a banana.
When I get home I have a small piece of homemade cherry and walnut flapjack with a cup of tea.
Unfortunately by teatime I'm knackered and tea is usually jacket potato with either chicken nuggets or chicken dippers. Ive bought plastic containers to batch cook healthy food but thats as far as that got!

Well done ChickenVindaloo. First time is always the hardest one.

Annandale, luckily cakes are not my thing. Crisps and pastries however.....

Rowgtfc72 · 14/01/2017 16:41

Mon I weighed in at 15st 2. Today I'm 14st 11.

Being at work and away from the fridge is a dealbreaker Grin

ChickenVindaloo2 · 14/01/2017 19:02

Excellent work, Rowgtfc72!

I'm down to 13st 5lbs which is 9lbs off.
I've actually decided to quit pepsi max in an effort to be healthy and also save money. So today is headache central!

I'm still a bit sore from the gym and have been working long hours.

I have a very strict shopping list for until I get paid on 27th as I only have £45 for food! That should be enough for eggs, nuts and cheese though and a bit of fish and meat!

Crunchymum · 14/01/2017 19:05

Well done OP.

I'm 9lbs down too, although I'm a pretty big drinker (especially over xmas) so my loss has been mainly down to Dry January. I am a terrible snacker with wine so it all goes hand in hand for me.

No booze has been a massive kick up the arse. I was 13lb 5oz on NYD and am 12st 10lb today.

Crunchymum · 14/01/2017 19:07

Debt wise I'll be doing a balance transfer at the end of this month. I should have about £ 1000 to put down on it as well as I have some monies owed which I have requested back.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 17/01/2017 22:33

Nice to see you again, Crunchymum, aka my twin!

I'm still at 9lbs down but I've just started my period and should lose a few pounds I think as I have felt a little bloated eg in the boobs. I'd had period pain for a couple of weeks and no period - think it was due to stress and this sudden change in diet.

Still off the pepsi but feel thirsty all the time.

And re money: I should be getting some overtime pay (about £500) next Friday. I'm desperate to be paid though, it's been a long month and there is barely any food in the house! I have enough money for one small shop to get me through to the glorious 27th!

OP posts:
Rowgtfc72 · 18/01/2017 14:24

Chicken, hope the money comes through for you soon!

I've written January off. What with trying to eat all the Christmas food at the beginning and my birthday at the end it just isn't happening and I'm 10lb heavier than I was on Jan 1st!
Going for Feb, no nice food in, healthy food in freezer. Hopefully work will pick up so I get more than two days a week and I have spare cash to go swimming.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 18/01/2017 22:24

Sorry to hear that you've struggled this month, Rowtgc. Sounds like you'll be prepared when Feb hits though. Still plenty of time to get weight shifted before the summer.

I'm now 13st 4 so 10lbs down. And it's only been 3 and a bit weeks since Boxing Day! I was getting sick to death of boiled eggs so have picked up some sausages for breakfast instead (to be grilled on the George Foreman). I've actually been so busy at work at lunchtimes that I've just been having a handful of nuts for lunch but I've now been to the supermarket and got some meat/tomatoes/olives for a sort of mediterranean packed lunch!

Several people have already commented that my stomach is smaller and my profile (face/neck) is slimmer. I know my colleagues are watching to see how I do so I can't disappoint!

Looking forward to hearing progress from all following the journey!

I find batch cooking helpful. When I get around to doing it I have proper food when I come home from work so don't gorge on junk, and it's cheaper too.

Kitkatchunkie · 19/01/2017 00:06

This is great! Please can I join? I started on Tuesday and weighed in at 12stone 9lbs. I'm looking to drop 2.5-3 stone to be a healthy weight for my height.

Been doing fairly well except for today where i ate 6 rice crackers with a chocolate coating and a caramax bar. But I will not be deterred. I am off to the gym early tomorrow morning.

tiredvommachine · 19/01/2017 00:32

Place marking.
Will be back with stats once I can brave the scales Sad

tiredvommachine · 19/01/2017 11:57

10st 10! Shock
Two stone needed to go.
At least I know the damage now and can hopefully start to track it downwards.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 19/01/2017 21:41

Welcome one and all! I am just back from a legs bums and tums class. Very 1980s aerobics style!

I'm so busy and so poor atm that it's not hard at all to keep my food intake relatively low!

OP posts:
Doodlebug5 · 19/01/2017 22:06

Can I join? 10 stone and £10k to lose.

Currently at half a stone loss and £9100 in debt

annandale · 20/01/2017 01:24

All jogging along I hope.

I'm attempting to lose the same bloody kilo for the fourth time. Think I need to bump up my exercise, and stop buying hummus.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 20/01/2017 21:30

I'm down to 13st 3lbs so 11lbs down in 3 and a bit weeks so really pleased with that. Fitbit says I'm on track to be 10st on 29 June this year (a few days before Wimbledon starts).

My only moan is that I'm working such long hours that I'm not getting much time for the gym. I am keeping a careful note of my overtime though so I get paid for it. Even when I "only" do 9 hours a day though, I'm busting a gut the whole time so I think I'm due a payrise anyway!! After all, no point penny-pinching if you're not being paid well enough in the first place!

OP posts:
ChickenVindaloo2 · 20/01/2017 21:31

A little sore (just the right amount!) after my BLT class yesterday. Grin

OP posts:
annandale · 20/01/2017 23:19

WOOP chicken that's fantastic!

ChickenVindaloo2 · 22/01/2017 14:43

Well period is over but I'm still sore from my LBT class on Thursday.

But down to 13st 1! So nearly my first stone off!
Also been off the pepsi max for a week in the hope that that helps.

Absolutely desperate for Friday when I get paid!

ChickenVindaloo2 · 22/01/2017 14:44

Should also say I've downloaded some music videos from itunes to keep me going in the gym! All the good shit like Britney, Kylie, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna! Hopefully I will have a gorjus body soon too!

FIRST MONTH OVER AND I HAVE LOST 1 STONE!

Started 26 Dec - 14st exactly, this morning I am 13st exactly!
Grin

My winter coat is loose now and my cardigans are not straining over my tummy!

How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
ChickenVindaloo2 · 27/01/2017 08:38

I also got paid this morning - overtime money! Hoping to take a chunk out of my overdraft this month. It's a short month too but I have been feeling quite deprived recently. I was down to my last £14!

OP posts:
tiredvommachine · 27/01/2017 10:39

Well done chicken, that's fantastic!!
Still need to have a weigh in myself, have been walking loads and trying to eat more healthily.
So pleased for you Grin
