I'd like to lose about a stone. So I'm going back to my old system of writing down everything I eat, to make myself more accountable and stop eating random unhealthy stuff that I forget about twenty minutes later. The next few months of cold will be featuring lots of soup, and herbal tea instead of hot chocolate. This method usually works for me, so I need to get back on it.

Mamashark I have just downloaded an app called 7MWC it is 7 minute workouts. My fitness is terrible since having a baby 12 weeks ago but I managed the full workout (just)!

TwatteryFlowers · 31/12/2016 14:10

That's exactly it wet paint. I end up thinking that I may as well carry on and start again tomorrow but then the cycle continues and I get nowhere so I need to break that habit!
Namesstress is there anything else that you could do instead of reaching for the food? Anything that will occupy your hands or mind such as colouring, knitting or something else crafty?

TwatteryFlowers · 31/12/2016 14:22

rockchick yes to filling up on crap rather than actual meals! I am getting better at that though, especially with foods that contain more in the way of protein. Today so far I've had a mushroom omelette, a pretzel dip thing and a double decker and we're going to have a special new year's eve meal tonight.

GlitterandSequins · 31/12/2016 14:57

Is anyone else going to be weighing in on a Monday? I find it the best day for me as it motivates me to keep on track over the weekend. Trying to get back on track with my eating but finding it had with so many treats still floating about!

Mamashark · 31/12/2016 16:04

Thanks gabbysolis ! Wil check that out

Dizzywizz · 31/12/2016 16:29

Glitterandsequins perhaps I'll weigh in on a Monday - to keep on track as you say!

Snorfig · 31/12/2016 18:07

Can I join please? I'm on the dry January thread too. My drinking leads to eating shit, however good my intentions might be. I'm not huge but at 4'10" I am overweight if I go over 8st7lb. Every pound shows. I've done the baby years and am now going to get back into my running properly and shift the flab.

Alfieisnoisy · 31/12/2016 18:52

It's actually hard eating shit even tonight as I am just so sick of it. DS has eaten loads of Pringles and chocolate....he now wants me to do microwave popcorn, I think not Hmm.

Am sipping Diet Coke and planning some healthy meals at the moment. Can't wait to start.

GhostOfChristmasYetToCome · 31/12/2016 19:17

Glitter I'll weigh in on a Monday too. I've lost interest in all the rich Christmassy food. I made spicy carrot and lentil soup for lunch and that's fine. I find it only takes 3 or 4 days of eating badly before I start craving the healthy stuff again!

It's my portion size that's the problem...

SuperFlyHigh · 31/12/2016 19:46

Checking in again, had avocado on Vogel soya and linseed bread for lunch (I think) and evening chicken with Mediterranean veggies (courgette, aubergine and pepper) plus rice and a small glass white wine. Had orange for dessert and remainder of Doritos and salsa. Also had about 2 thorntons chocolates.

This morning had Doritos salsa (small leftover bit) with ryvita cracked pepper and cheese flatbreads (about 5) and provamel soya yogurt and nectarine for breakfast plus about 2-3 large cups tea with skim milk. Had new Covent Garden half carton veggie soup and sainsbos taste the different wholemeal bread baton 2 small slices. Had 1 cup tea with semi skim milk plus chocolate cornflake cake with white choc star. Also had roast chicken meal with 3 roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and gravy for dinner and 1 small glass white wine. Eating another nectarine for dessert. Also had 3 chocolate lepCuchen stars and a chocolate Santa small. Walking has been about 40-50 mins total today. If I get time will do a weigh in tomorrow, think about 11 stone and got at least 2 stone to lose.

Have brand new trainers and yoga gear, next week if I can manage it (mum in hospital so evenings spent there) will do yoga and also join gym or start a 5k.

Past couple of days have deliberately stayed off crisp bread and cheese snacks and biscuits.

Snorfig · 31/12/2016 21:17

Monday weigh-ins sound good. Dreading the first one. Just undertaking the 'housework' of eating all the shit and drinking all the crap before bing bong 'sort-your-shit-out' time.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 31/12/2016 21:23

Weighed in today

Changed the scales to lbs only

Didnt help as my stupid brain guestimated....and as guestimates go it was pretty spot on...stupid treacherous brain

HandsomeDevil · 31/12/2016 21:29

starting monday
just disposing of the last of the stilton and celebrations before then.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 31/12/2016 21:29

I'll weigh in on Monday morning too.

lastqueenofscotland · 31/12/2016 22:47

Can I join? Starting "officially" on Tuesday, not cause I need a blow out but because im at my PIL till then and they don't have any scales so j can't weigh myself.

Chelazla · 31/12/2016 22:50

I'm in I'm starting on the 3rd when I go back to work infant to go from a size16 to a 10 eventually! I'm also keeping a food diary!

Snorfig · 01/01/2017 07:46

Couldn't resist a weigh in this morning. Ulp. At least Monday's weigh in will be less of a shock??

addstudentdinners2 · 01/01/2017 07:49

Can I join? Go back to work end of March and still nearly 2 stone over my prepregnancy weight (and that was 10st already)!

I'd like to be about 9st. Don't want to diet as I know they don't work long term for me - want to change my attitude! My major two issues are portion size and eating when bored or out of habit.

Starting officially tomorrow. Only rules are eating when hungry and stopping when full!!!

InteriorLulu · 01/01/2017 10:22

Weighed in this morning. As expected I've gained a couple of lbs. Monday will be my weigh in day from now onward as I find it keeps me in control over the weekend.

Felt rubbish yesterday, fat, out of breath and nauseous. I'm going to use that feeling to keep me motivated. Not hungover today and planning to go for a walk in a bit. The actual plan was to run this morning, but I've got a chesty cough at the moment so I'll wait until that goes.

Menu planning today, along with getting a few things done around the place.

Happy New Year all, have a good one.

addstudentdinners2 · 01/01/2017 10:34

What healthy meals are you all cooking?

GreenBudgie · 01/01/2017 10:45

Weighed in this morning -I have 12 pounds to lose. We are staying with friends so not in control of food, and it would be rude to refuse. I'll stick to Monday weigh in, as Lulu says it will keep me on plan over the weekend. Happy New Year to all.

Dizzywizz · 01/01/2017 10:49

I'll be doing some stir fries with fish, prawns or chicken, have to make food the children will eat too...tuna pasta bake, jacket potatoes, reduced fat pesto with pasta...same old for me just making healthy changes.

And avoiding mac Donald's...a new one just opened really near me which I drive past every day!!

I'm giving up dairy (struggling with an alternative with coffee though, and processed food. Reducing meat and eating lots of fish.

Let's keep each other motivated!!

SheFeedsYouTeaAndOranges · 01/01/2017 10:50

Ugh, weighed in this morning. I want to lose 20lb. I can do it Wink

SheFeedsYouTeaAndOranges · 01/01/2017 10:53

I've reactivated my old MFP account and I'm ready to go.

Although I had planned on a big long walk this morning and the weather seems to have other ideas!

Snorfig · 01/01/2017 11:23

10lbs to lose here, to be genuinely trim and healthy. Or 8lb to be pretty much content with my weight. 5.5mile run this morning, listening to Serial (amazing true crime podcast) which is so engrossing the time flies. Party food lunch for the kids, ill ration myself to a few samosas and plenty of chicken breast and veggies. Good luck everyone!
