I'd like to lose about a stone. So I'm going back to my old system of writing down everything I eat, to make myself more accountable and stop eating random unhealthy stuff that I forget about twenty minutes later. The next few months of cold will be featuring lots of soup, and herbal tea instead of hot chocolate. This method usually works for me, so I need to get back on it.

Count me in too please.

I'm pregnant with DC2, but am also obese (BMI 34). My aim is to gain as little or no weight during the pregnancy by eating sensibly, roughly following a SW style eating plan, along with some low GI tips to try and keep my blood sugar as healthy as I can (family history of type 2 diabetes).

WetPaint4 · 26/12/2016 11:45

I'm in. I have 9 stones to lose. Back to Slimming World in Jan.

GhostOfChristmasYetToCome · 26/12/2016 12:57

Me too. One and a half stone here.

Lost a stone last year without much effort on 5:2. I'm guessing this next stone and a half will be a bit more of a challenge...

Corneliagoescamping · 26/12/2016 13:04

I'm in. About 9lb to lose.

vinoandbrie · 26/12/2016 13:43

I'm in. Two stone to lose, sessions with a nutritionist start in Jan, I've lost all sight of how to even eat healthily, it's scary.

TwatteryFlowers · 26/12/2016 16:50

I weighed myself today and have put on just over 4lb this week Xmas Shock
I was in the healthy weight bracket but am now classed as overweight again having gone from 9st5 to 9st8!
We went for a carvery today but I didn't eat much of it (it was horrible: overcooked veg galette thing, a soggy Yorkshire pudding, under-done parsnips and gelatinous gravy). I am going to be fairly reserved between now and nye and then start again properly on the 2nd January. I have so far lost the weight not by following a specific diet but by reducing my portions; I am still eating all the foods I normally do but less of it. I found it easy until December!

Badgerloco · 26/12/2016 18:39

Two stone for me, 1 would make a big difference two would be fantastic, by the summer hopefully. Considering SW but not sure if I can make time for meetings and going to the gym / swimming as I'm self employed and struggle to take time out for myself. Determined not to spend another year covering up my bumpy bits in baggy tops!!

sansoucitherednosedcariboo · 27/12/2016 05:10

So, I'm taking my first step towards my goal. I've eaten my last mince pie, my last bite of chocolate, my last splosh of Baileys until I am well on the way to shifting this excess weight. The sugary stuff has to go. I can do this! I want to feel good about my body again and prove to myself that I can control my eating. Okay? Please help...

PaperdollCartoon · 27/12/2016 09:17

Im starting Monday for whichever PP asked. Too many cakes and chocs in the house which need eating first. Ive tried half heartedly to lose the weight the last couple of year, but just go up and down by a few lbs. I'm feeling far more confident I can do it this time for some reason. DP is also supportive and will eat whatever I eat, no kids so no chance I can finish their half eaten plates and such like. I know exactly how to do this, just have to stick to it and make no excuses.

PaperdollCartoon · 27/12/2016 09:17

And yes getting this loved where it can last longer than 90 days would be great

PaperdollCartoon · 27/12/2016 09:55

MNHQ have kindly moved this to weightloss chat so we can keep going beyond 90 days.

How is everyone gearing themselves up for success?

TwatteryFlowers · 27/12/2016 10:25

I buggered up last night. I had two croissants, two of the dc's chocolate coins and stole all the fried eggs out of the Haribo tub. I was really hungry, tired and bored. Not a good combination.

Today I'm going to start again and eat properly. We have a meal plan but haven't been following it for the last few days which means I'm getting hungry at odd times and we have nothing in except sweet and sugary stuff so I've been filling up on that rather than eating proper meals.

Maracattack · 27/12/2016 11:42

I'd love to join in...

I need to lose about 5 1/2 stone... I've had so many 'fresh starts' this year and end it exactly the same weight as I did last year so obviously I need to focus on sustainable change. 1lb a week would be brilliant if I could actually do it.

I've lost large amounts of weight before but couldn't keep it off after a pregnancy and difficult first year of DD's life... hoping this thread will inspire me!

GhostOfChristmasYetToCome · 27/12/2016 13:49

I'm starting Monday. I think I'll be setting myself up to fail if I stsrt before that.

However, I am clearing out/sorting the pantry today and batch cooking this week to get ready for it...

GreenBudgie · 27/12/2016 13:56

I am in if there is room for one more please. This time last year I was a stone lighter and weight training twice a week. I scoffed the last of the sweets and pudding yesterday, ate so much I woke up queasy and desperate to get back on planned, portion controlled meals. I will aim for 1350 cals per day, plus pick up and put down some weights tonight. Best wishes to all.

CancellyMcChequeface · 27/12/2016 14:41

I've started today. It's difficult as there is so much sugary food in the house! I'm not counting calories but am limiting carbs and cutting out sugar. I haven't weighed myself as I have the feeling that the number will be very discouraging today! I'll wait a week or so.

Megsmcgoo · 27/12/2016 14:56

I'd love to start too please if theres room! I have put on about 2 stone since moving in with my boyfriend 6 months ago, cry. I have semi started today but the real work starts when i go back home after visiting my parents on the 4th January. i think i'm 12 and a half stone but will be weighing myself tomorrow to confirm this.

Overall plan is be eat low carb unless after exercise and will be combining weights with cardio exercise. Theres a Pure gym near me thats £10 a month and does spin classes which i love and i want to buy some bar bell weights to do pump classes at home.

Depending on the weight in tomorrow i'd like to lose 2 and a half stone and seriously tone up more!

Bungleboggs · 27/12/2016 15:09

Limurz · 27/12/2016 17:56

I would like to lose a stone. I am almost 49, weight has crept up to 11 stone (I am 5ft t in) and want to be fabulous at 50! I have downloaded the British Heart Foundation's 'Facts Not Fads' booklet and aim to follow that.

crazyhead · 27/12/2016 18:41

I'd like to lose a stone - not to my thinnest weight but aiming to lift to build muscle too. Have got fitter in last month (running, PT, body pump) will add calorie counting on My fitness pal from Jan. Want very gradual, sustainable fat loss. Am 40. Good luck all!

Gaybiesftw · 27/12/2016 18:59

6 stone to lose... have GERD so need to be careful with dieting too quickly etc

Juliehelsby1969 · 27/12/2016 20:17

I'm in too, I'm out of control and need support so hopefully this will help

GreenBudgie · 27/12/2016 21:05

Have just spent 34 minutes picking up weights and putting them down again. After years of running my knees are not fit for anything with high impact. My plan is to spend the remaining days of December getting into the habit of 3 meals a day and drinking plenty of water. On 1st Jan I will weigh myself , take a picture then repeat 1st Feb to compare. Would love to hear updates from the rest of you.

SSYMONDS · 27/12/2016 21:19

I've been feeling a bit yuck today - eating stuff just cause it's there. I've decided there's no point in clearning out the cupboards into my body until January 1st... I've got a few meals over the next few days where I will have a drink and eat what I feel like, but that doesn't mean I need to eat chocolate orange for breakfast. Going to try and eat more sensibly and increase exercise from now. Anyone else?
