I'd like to lose about a stone. So I'm going back to my old system of writing down everything I eat, to make myself more accountable and stop eating random unhealthy stuff that I forget about twenty minutes later. The next few months of cold will be featuring lots of soup, and herbal tea instead of hot chocolate. This method usually works for me, so I need to get back on it.

Twattery I always used to gain 2-3 lbs pre-period so I wouldn't take that reading too seriously at all. Just keep on it and try weighing again in a few days. Smile

CancellyMcChequeface · 26/01/2017 18:47

Twattery Mine has just started too, and I've put on 2lbs. It's difficult to stay motivated when that happens, but at least you know it isn't just you! Hopefully by next week we'll both be back to normal.

I've just got back from walking/jogging 4 miles (mostly walking, to be fair Wink ) and I feel really good! I signed up for a Race for Life 10k in a few months time, so that's a good incentive to keep going.

Welcome Did I really. Today's food was All brand, seeds and yoghurt, pasta with veg and feta, mackerel with veg and pasta. Sounds a lot but if you weigh the food before you cook it you stay within calorie goal. I roasted 2 big trays of veg with herbs and spices at the weekend, which left enough leftovers for lunch for 3 days, the prepping kept me on plan. Love the fact that people are fitting meals out into their day by choosing wisely. Best wishes to all.

Hi. Joining the thread. Late, a month into 2017 but better than never.

Have been trying to do this alone. 1st Jan - 5'3" and weighed 10st4lbs, my heaviest ever. Now down to about 9st12lbs.

Bingeing massively today and need somewhere to vent I'm so annoyed with myself.

JacquelineChan · 27/01/2017 10:36

Pheonix don't beat yourself up .... but Greenbudgie holds the key. It's all about the prep ! Meal planning , having the right ingredients in stock , and things in the fridge and cupboards you can eat when you are peckish instead of junk.
Are you able to go for a run/ walk / do an exercise dvd at home today. That always makes me feel like i am doing something towards cancelling out the bingeing.
In fact it's probably just a great stress release and you can think clearly and say to yourself ''right today was bad but tomorrow is another day''
Good luck
PS i am pretty much your weight and height twin !

KitKat1985 · 28/01/2017 09:51

Wahoo! Lost another pound and a half at weigh in this morning. It's slow progress each week, but it's progress! Smile

Dizzywizz · 28/01/2017 12:34

Kitkat 1.5lbs is really good! Well done

CancellyMcChequeface · 28/01/2017 19:25

Well done, KitKat! That's great progress for a week. Smile It's a sustainable amount, and heading in the right direction!

Slight TMI but I've noticed that my period has been much lighter and less painful than usual this month - I wonder if that's a fortunate side-effect of either the healthier eating or the weight loss!

TwatteryFlowers · 29/01/2017 10:13

Well done kitkat, that's great progress!
I've had a rubbish week, food-wise, but the 3lb + I had gained when I weighed myself on Thursday had all but gone so I'm only half a pound more than I was despite eating pizza, chocolate and crisps. Going to eat more healthily this week though!

Dh is down by 1st 2 since about November, too, which is good. He's no longer obese! Yay!

HandsomeDevil · 30/01/2017 08:10

nice work kitkat Smile

By some utter miracle I've lost 2lbs, despite a night out midweek, and a weekend away on the sauce. The only thing I can think is that the beer has yet to be turned into fat, so I'll have to work hard THIS week to offset that. No run today as I need to go into work to sort something out, but hoping to squeeze in a quick Shred if I can finish at lunchtime.

Start weight 12st 4lb
This week's loss 2lb
total loss 9lb

JacquelineChan · 30/01/2017 09:08

everyone is doing so well with their weight loss !

i've been at this for a month now but after the initial 6lb loss the scales have not budged. I don't know what i am doing wrong , i feel a bit disheartened really .

i guess i just need to ramp up the work outs and cut down on what i am eating even more .

Maybe i should join some classes to give me motivation , i will look and see what is in the area

TwatteryFlowers · 30/01/2017 13:36

Are you weighing and measuring everything and noting down how much you're eating and counting your calorie intake, making sure you're not accidentally overeating? Or could it be that your body is changing but just not showing on the scales, as in, are your clothes getting loose? That might be a better indication of progress than the scales?

JacquelineChan · 30/01/2017 15:15

thanks Twattery .... my clothes did get a little looser ...but stopped !

I have lots of spare note books so I think I may start writing it down , good tip . Maybe I am deluding myself about how much i have ''cut down''. I just don't understand how I can;t be losing the pounds , i feel like I have made big lifestyle changes .

thesockgap · 30/01/2017 16:32

1.2lbs off this week, bringing total loss to 8lbs.

Faries · 30/01/2017 16:35

Blush I had a whole pack of Oreos today. Work is crap is my excuse.

InteriorLulu · 30/01/2017 17:17

Off to WW tonight to get myself weighed. This last week was going well until I fell off the wagon on Friday....I have no-one to blame but myself. Had a massive row with DD (who's 12, and so knows it all) which kind of dented my new-found confidence. I think I need to find a better coping strategy than the biscuit tin. Added to that there has been a few tricky days over the past week and my attention has slipped away from writing it all down. I'm looking at a gain tonight I think.

I'll find out the damage and take it from there.

Fantastic loss thesockgap!

JacquelineChan - I know it's a controversial subject and often the topic of heated debate, but are you eating enough? What about fluid intake - are you getting plenty of water? Fruit and veg?

Definitely worth writing it down as Twattery says - I find that I get a gain if I don't (see above).

Right, I'm off to face the music. D'you think they'd let me weigh in a swimming costume.... Grin

HandsomeDevil · 30/01/2017 17:35

Fries I am AWFUL for eating my way through work crises. Am thinking about locking my wallet in the glovebox of the car so I can't raid the vending machines.

ludog · 31/01/2017 10:04

I'm another 1/2 lb down. Not much but they all add up 😁

Faries · 31/01/2017 13:53

Thanks* @HandsomeDevil .* I had another crap work thing happen and all I want is red velvet cake. Sigh. T

JacquelineChan · 31/01/2017 14:51

Lulu i am definitely eating enough - i think I am not being honest with myself about all those ''handful of nuts'' each time i pass the kitchen , working from home is murder for ''picking'' ! I am not drinking enough water either so I am going down the route of writing stuff down as suggested ..... except for today as I have woken up with the vomiting bug so this is great for weight loss but i would not recommend it haha

thanks all , i'm going back to the sofa to watch the whole series of Walking with Dinosaurs and try to sip flat coke x

Dizzywizz · 31/01/2017 15:27

0.75lb of a lb ON this week, but was expecting more!! I need to get back on it, my weeks of hardly losing any have disheartened me like Jaqueline Chan

JacquelineChan · 31/01/2017 16:01

Dizzy would you like a dose of this bug ....I am hoping this will guarantee I lose pounds by friday !

not sure how to send it , DHL or royal mail hahaha

try not to be disheartened. it is hard i know because i feel the same but i realise i have been deluding myself. Not sure how old you are but I am 41 and it is harder to lose weight now than it was when i was younger. Well when i was younger I ate what i wanted and remained 8 and a half stone - I hate that bitch now LOL

TwatteryFlowers · 31/01/2017 16:15

I've gained this week too Dizzy - I blame my period and the water gain and cravings that come with it. I'm using myfitnesspal and logging everything and for the last two weeks, not a day has gone by when I haven't gone over. I've only gained by a pound so it's nothing really and I know that as I get nearer to my rough target that it'll get more difficult to lose but it's still disheartening.

Dh brought home some biscuits yesterday and I had 6 of them (those really thin ones by mcvities so probably 3 normal sized ones). I really struggle not to eat a full pack once I've started so I made him take them to work!

I sometimes secretly wish for a d&v bug - nothing serious, just enough to take my appetite away for a day or two. The problem is, when I get better I end up thinking, "Yay, I have two or three days worth of calories that I can add on to the next few days!" and end up balancing out!

Seriously though, d&v is shit (literally lol) so I hope you recover quickly Jacqueline.

PaintingOwls · 31/01/2017 16:21

I'm in! 30 day shred is my weapon of choice. Today is day 3 and my legs are hurting much less thanks to a massage from DP.

KitKat1985 · 31/01/2017 18:39

Well done on all the losses and sympathies to all those frustrated. I second writing everything down and weighing stuff. It's really easy to consume more calories than you think otherwise.

Not a brilliant weekend here but back on the wagon this week. Not been doing much exercise though.
