Nothing like a new month to provide motivation! (And feeling like a pig after too many pancakes). I'm not committing to giving up chocolate but good luck to those who do!

Notsoskinnyminny · 01/03/2017 14:00

I'm with you triangular if I give something up I want it more! 2lb of my weekend binge fest gone so hopefully the rest will come off by the weekend before my belated birthday night out with DD - theatre tickets and cocktails - only problem is there's no trains running to Liverpool and the last bus to where we live (out in the sticks) is 8pm so it'll either be mocktails for me or a £40 taxi bill.

Bibs2014 · 01/03/2017 17:04

I didn't think it was humanely possible to walk past a multipack of Mini Cheddars that were on sale for £1 without buying them, but apparently it is 😃. Go me!

It definitely was because it's the first day of the month. My head told me I couldn't really fail on the first day so keep walking!

Had a massive salad for lunch - spinach, cucumber, tomato, sweet corn, onion with brown rice and quinoa and lentils and chickpea curry.

Bibs2014 · 01/03/2017 17:04

I also had a mullerlight.

MillieMoodle · 01/03/2017 17:40

Had actimel, tea and cornflakes for breakfast. 2 wholemeal rolls with smoked salmon for lunch, with 2 small tomatoes and some watercress. No snacks so far. Did have a latte this morning as caught up with a friend for coffee. Dinner will either be pork chops, sweet potato fries and veg or chilli, jacket potato and veg.

Lapinlapin · 01/03/2017 19:29

Well done Bibs
I've been resisting temptation too, but it's hard.
Had some granola for breakfast, cup a soup and a roll for lunch and macaroni cheese for dinner.

And now I'm ravenous Blush
So used to snacking in the evening...

However, I've decided to stick to the no sugar thing until I'm at my target weight. It's ridiculous really - I could probably get there in about 10 weeks, and yet I've been unhappy at my current weight for ages, but do nothing to change. Am really determined now though. Just need to lose the weight and get back to 'normal' again.

Bibs2014 · 01/03/2017 21:23

Dinner was beef and black bean chilli, brown rice and salad.

Bibs2014 · 01/03/2017 21:25

I'm so like that too lapinlapin, could be at goal in no time if I stuck to it for more than 5 minutes!

MillieMoodle · 01/03/2017 21:52

Lapin I am exactly the same. Not happy with my current weight, wasn't happy with my weight after DS1 either but kind of got used to it and did absolutely nothing to try and change it. I have to do it now otherwise I'll be miserable about my weight forever!

Bibs2014 · 02/03/2017 09:44

I've joined the 10-a-day fruit and veg challenge on here and I tell you I was stuffed yesterday! No room to eat anything else!!

Today so far i have had yoghurt with chia seeds and porridge with blueberries and honey. lunch is chicken, brown rice & quinoa mix and salad, dinner is heck chicken sausages probably chopped into pasta and homemade sauce.

Bibs2014 · 02/03/2017 18:52

Oh bugger I ate half a brownie and a bag of wotsits - out of sheer boredom!

Bibs2014 · 02/03/2017 21:24

Pizza 🍕 for dinner 😬

Notsoskinnyminny · 02/03/2017 23:01

Bibs some kind person who's given up sugar and chocolate for lent put boxes of millionaires shortbread, cornflake cakes and mini roll bites in the staffroom needless to say my fruit is still on your desk. Try again tomorrow!!

SmellTheGlove · 03/03/2017 07:56

Ah notso the evilness of the staffroom. Although my downfall at work yesterday was the posh sandwich delivery van that now comes calling every lunchtime. I got carried away with my reintroduction of gluten and had a giant tuna ciabatta and a flapjack!! As pleased as I am that my ibs is improving and I can eat gluten again it's not helping my diet...

Bibs2014 · 03/03/2017 10:23

Staffroom food is so tempting!

I don't think I'll be eating pizza and chips for dinner again any time soon. Was thirsty all night and felt very uncomfortable and bloated! I know why I succumbed too - usually I eat dinner as soon as I get in, but I got in late, was sorting DS out and by that time it was 8.15 and the lure of pizza being ready in 10 minutes swung me! Mustn't do that again!

Started the day with a cereal bar, fruit and a latte. Salad for lunch. Chilli for dinner.

Bibs2014 · 03/03/2017 15:02

I had a ham salad flatbread from Subway - needed to eat something fresh tasting! And I've had a chocolate digestive.

Wenchelda · 03/03/2017 18:34

Sorry I've been awol for a few days. Really struggling with my anxiety at the moment and to be honest I'm finding it hard enough to get through each day without crying, never mind be strict with myself about food Sad I thought I was coming out of this anxiety episode but unfortunately it seems to be hanging around Sad

Bibs2014 · 03/03/2017 18:43

FlowersFlowersFlowerswench x

Lapinlapin · 03/03/2017 20:16

Wench, so sorry to hear you are struggling FlowersFlowers

Wenchelda · 03/03/2017 22:01

Thanks x I find it really hard to talk about in real life and only really talk to my mum about it (well DH too but I think he really struggles to understand it. Jeez I don't even understand it so I can't expect him to) thankfully my mum is amazing at calming me down and talking sense, but it's also good to be able to mention it here. It's too hard to cope with if I try and bottle it up. I don't know why I'm struggling so much now. I've been doing so well.

SmellTheGlove · 04/03/2017 07:32

wench anxiety is a horrible horrible thing. Poor you. I've suffered from anxiety and depression my whole life, and it's the anxiety I hate most. Are you taking any medication or getting any other help? If you don't want to put it on here you can pm me. Look after yourself.

MillieMoodle · 04/03/2017 08:57

FlowersFlowersWench FlowersFlowers sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment. Anxiety is horrible. Sending you some virtual hugs.

I've been not too bad the last couple of days. Have given up chocolate for Lent but yesterday had 2 oat and raisin cookies and two cherry bakewells instead. No breakfast and lunch and dinner were OK. Thursday I did really well, no snacks at all but I did have two lattes.

So far today have had tea, actimel and cornflakes.

happypoobum · 04/03/2017 11:56

Flowers wench I hope the anxiety puts itself way soon. I also suffer when things get too stressful at work and I feel overwhelmed and panicky. I also suffer from raging imposter syndrome so I am always expecting a senior manager to come and tap me on the shoulder and say "We've realised you're useless and don't know what you're doing, so could you just pack up and leave quietly please?"

Anyway - back to the food. ARRRRRGGGHHHH!! I managed to put on five pounds in Italy. Five bloody pounds!!!! It was bloody lovely though - the pastries, the risotto, the grissini..................the tiramisu!!!

So - hoping I can shift a stone by Easter still - it's 2lb a week over 7 weeks. I can do that - I have to really or I won't be able to wear nice clothes in Italy when I go on holiday at Easter.

So I have been shopping and bought lots of healthy stuff. Having a peppered beef and boiled egg salad for lunch and salmon with stir fried veg for dinner. Am out tonight but will drive so no alcohol calories.

Will also try to get back on the exercise bike.

So - weighed in today at 11:13 Angry

Wenchelda · 04/03/2017 12:12

Thanks for all your supportive messages. I'm finally feeling like I'm coming out the other side as although I still feel anxious today, it's not nearly as bad as the last couple of days.

smelltheglove I'm not taking any medication but I have had a years worth of CBT sessions. My last one was around May last year and They helped me immensely. I think I was finally feeling so good and on top of things that I slacked off from keeping up with the things that keep me on track, and that's probably why I've lapsed now. I had a long chat with my mum last night and she reminded me of all the techniques I learnt from CBT so that has helped me calm down greatly. I also know I need to make sure I keep up with the mindfulness, breathing techniques, positive affirmations, exercise, vitamins etc even when I'm feeling ok. So that is definitely extra motivation for me to start up - and stick to - the daily exercise bike again.

I cannot remember food for the last few days so will try and start afresh tomorrow. Today I've had a banana and toast for breakfast; soup and yogurt for lunch. Going to a friend's for dinner so that will likely be buffet style party food so I'll try and get back on track with food and exercise after that.

SmellTheGlove · 04/03/2017 20:12

wench I'm a great fan of CBT. It is easy to stop practising it though once you are feeling better. Breathing is also very important I realise I've been shallow breathing when I'm stressed. Try and take the time to practice your techniques and be gentle with yourself. I had so many lavender oil baths when I was feeling anxious I nearly grew flippers!
