I bought some frozen mini sausage rolls for the first time in years this week. I was only going to have two (89cal) but ate six because they were surprisingly good. I've hidden the rest of the packet at the back of the freezer now!

Going to have beef and vegetable casserole for dinner tonight. Though I'm making it with far less red wine than usual to save on the calories so will see how it turns out.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 08/12/2016 18:29

Fast day for me today. Shouldn't exceed target of 500 cals as along as I don't snack later.

MillieMoodle · 08/12/2016 18:39

Atrocious day here. I daren't weigh myself for the next few days. I've barely stopped eating as it's the only thing which seems to make my nose unblocked. Have had a rough day with this awful cold and with DS2 who had his jabs yesterday and who also has a cold. He's also been sick after every bottle. DH has also come home from work with a cold, which means I won't get a break (a cold usually renders him completely incapable to help with either child). And we're having a takeaway for dinner as I can't be arsed to cook. I will have to do a hell of a lot of walking next week to make up for today. Aargh!

Notsoskinnyminny · 08/12/2016 18:49

Well xmas dinner was lovely but small - proper turkey, 2 tidgy roasties and 1 chipolata - just my luck to be served by the horrible and intimidating dinner lady. She's got a face like a slapped arse at the best of times so there was no way I was going to ask for more Xmas Grin The others on my table had loads more than me.

But there is a positive side to it - I've made a pasta bake for the menfolk and was going to have a salad but I reckon I've got enough calories left over as I'd estimated 800 for lunch but reckon I probably only had 400 max.

ice are they the greggs ones from Coldland? DCs love the full-sized ones but I've not bought the cocktail ones as I was worried they'd be all pastry.

FleshEmoji · 09/12/2016 06:19

NotSoSkinny - father not husband. Husband would have lied to have saved being decked :-)*

Bibs* - mmm, love pigs in blankets, will have to search out an Eat.

Yesterday was my main weigh day, and I lost 1lb over the week which I'm happy with as I'm kind of in maintenance. Had my 200 calorie salad as planned but then went out for an Indian instead of eating my 300 calorie dinner. No carbs though except in the wine, a non-creamy prawn dish with aubergines - and I left a fair bit - I think I'm OK.

Today is a planned non fast day - 2 coffees for breakfast, 200 cal salad for lunch followed by my nephew & his fiancée arriving & DH's Korean BBQ meal (which knowing him we'll eat at midnight). Again only wine carbs are planned - though I might not drink and save myself for Saturday.

Ice3 · 09/12/2016 13:47

They aren't. They were just the cheap Tesco party food mini ones. I haven't had a warm sausage roll in so long though. I wanted to try the Greggs ones but there isn't an Iceland anywhere near me.

Cheesy scrambled eggs soon and then soup for dinner today.

Bibs2014 · 09/12/2016 14:38

I've had porridge with chia seeds for breakfast
Fruit
Lunch was soup from Pret and a roll with pork slices and salad.
Snacked on a couple of crackers.

Notsoskinnyminny · 09/12/2016 17:43

Hands up if you want to go to Flesh's for dinner My XHs colleague is Korean and I used to love going to theirs for a meal although I never forgave him for the time he took us to a proper Chinese restaurant - the sort with tanks full of fish and lobsters and various birds hanging from hooks . We were the only westerners in there and the kids were getting lots of attention as they were very blonde at the time. They were getting bored so he took them (then 5 & 8) to look at the lobsters. DD named one Sebastian and he thought it'd be funny to order it. A bit later she noticed the tank was empty and for years she thought Sebastian had gone to live in Kim's house Grin

Not eat much today as its Friday and that means Wine but I did have a mini stollen and an after eight mint so no calories for evening nibbles crisps pinched from DHs bag don't count

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 09/12/2016 18:23

I was doing well today until someone brought mini chocolate and salted caramel tarts into work. Then had the munchies late afternoon so had a small bag of quavers and a handful of walnuts. I will be almost 300 cals over today Blush

Might do my weekly weigh in tomorrow morning as I'm going out for curry with friends tomorrow night which I don't think will be a positive influence on my usual Sunday morning weigh in!

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 09/12/2016 18:59

Bacon butty for brunch, pizza and salad for dinner with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. Will be slightly over calories today.

Bibs2014 · 09/12/2016 22:34

Handful of crisps in the office as worked till 7.30 Angry

Dinner was Indian takeaway - chicken shashlick which is dry chicken (not in sauce), 100g plain boiled rice, chapati and a poppodom.

FireflyGirl · 09/12/2016 22:45

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm glad I'm not the only one with Christmas treats sneaking in Xmas Blush Am trying to stick to my calories, though!

DH's best friend when we met was married to a Malaysian lady - I used to drop all sorts of hints about being invited for dinner! We've still got 90 mins to get to you for the bbq, right Flesh? Or did DH manage to get it on the table earlier than anticipated?

Notso - maybe your dinner lady yesterday is a secret member of this thread, and was actually looking out for you?

Good plan to weigh early, Wench - the volume might affect the scales Xmas Wink

Today I've had:
B : cereal bar and an apple
L : Chicken sandwich on malted bread with 2 boiled eggs (Morrisons meal deal)
T : beef and broccoli with a small portion of rice.

Snacks: two party rings - only 28 cals each! Definitely better calories-wise than chocolate hobnobs!

Been hard tonight - DH had friends round while I was out for a couple of hours, and they've had pizza. I've come home to the whole house smelling of pizza, and I had my tea 4.5 hours ago! I stole the party rings from them as vengeance Xmas Grin

Actually while I'm thinking about it - what would be the least damaging thing I could have at the curry house? - bearing in mind I only like very mild stuff and would usually have a korma.

Ice3 · 10/12/2016 00:05

I don't know. I've never had a curry Blush

I think I have become addicted to extra light Laughing Cow. I can't stop eating them.

FireflyGirl · 10/12/2016 06:50

Wench the best are usually tomato based sauces with lots of veggies eg bhuna/jalfrezi, but they are usually quite spicy too. Might be worth asking if they can do you a mild version?

Have it with boiled rice and avoid the naan breads. For starters, they usually do chicken tikka pieces or a chicken leg with tandoori spices, which is better than the fried starters like samosas and bhajis.

I love curries! The spicier the better for me Xmas Grin

DH decided to really test my willpower last night - when I went for a wee late on, they were having garlic bread! One thing guaranteed to make me feel hungry is the smell of cooking garlic...

FireflyGirl · 10/12/2016 06:53

And I've just found a fridge full of leftover pizza!

SmellTheGlove · 10/12/2016 07:11

There is too much chocolate around! Temptation everywhere! Thought I had been okay yesterday but was a pound up todaySad. Had very salty mussels (£1.49 from Aldi!) last night though and maybe choc catching up with me. Have to be careful today.

happychristmasbum · 10/12/2016 08:04

I've done it!!!

Can't quite believe it but weighed in a day early as won't be at home tomorrow morning, and I am a stone down from start of November when we began.

Starting weight 12:13
Week 6 11:13

So after plateauing (sp?) for three weeks stuck around 12:4/5 I have finally managed to shift 5lbs in a week. I guess I will never know whether those extra pounds were lost due to reducing cals to 1000 or due to what shall henceforth be known as the "Senna related incident" but I am so happy Xmas Smile

Thank you so much to everyone on this thread for sharing and encouraging each other. Previously I have plateaued and given up, but this time I kept going and that is all due to you.

If it's OK I will stay with the thread as I feel there is particular danger over Christmas of putting the whole stone and more back on over the holidays. Also, ideally I would like to lose another stone by Feb half term. The top end of BMI normal weight for me is 10 stone 9 which is my ultimate aim. Being in my fifties, I don't look too great of I lose too much weight from my face, so being at the top BMI range would be fine I think.

firefly you need to get rid of that pizza. Is there anyone convenient you can give it to for Breakfast? dog?

queen I often have a tandoori chicken dish that comes all sizzling and impressive on a skillet along with a salad. No rice. It sounds boring but it's really yummy and filling, and because it makes such a dramatic entrance it makes you feel like you are eating something special.I have just checked and it's called Tikka Chicken Tandoori in my local.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. I am off out for my first Christmas lunch today with an old friend. Will drive so can't drink (saves at least half the cals!) and will have soup to start but won't touch the roll, will eat all my turkey (won't touch yorkie if there is one) and just a couple of spoons of pud. Won't eat anything else all day.

MillieMoodle · 10/12/2016 09:20

Wow, well done happy that's amazing!

I've had a dreadful couple of days and haven't logged food or weighed myself as I'd rather not know! Still have a cold but it's better than it was and I have moments of feeling almost human again.

Back on the wagon from today; I've eaten so much crap the last couple of days that I feel really sluggish and yuck. Let's hope I can stick to it!

Bibs2014 · 10/12/2016 10:14

Happy that's amazing, well done!!

Queen - tandoori dishes are cooked in the oven using yoghurt and spices, they are the best calorie wise.

I'm disappearing for the day. Have Xmas lunch with friends and all the kids, secret Santa, Xmas jumpers, the lot! Lots of fun and this is the third year we've done it. Back tomorrow! Really must get some exercise in at some point!

happychristmasbum · 10/12/2016 10:38

Have fun Bibs

Millie I always eat like a horse when I have a cold. Just concentrate on getting better and get back on it when you are recovered.

Notsoskinnyminny · 10/12/2016 11:42

Well done happy enjoy your lunch, Bibs have a great day and Queen enjoy your meal - I never know what to order at an Indian either and would love to sample bits of everyone's plates to see what I like instead of playing safe with a bhuna.

So jealous of everyone going out I'm MNing instead of starting my coursework. I got a referral for the last module because I mislabelled an appendix - DS is responsible for proofreading so I've blamed him but ffs how chuffing petty Mr Assessor.

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 10/12/2016 12:01

Well done happy - that's brilliant!

I weighed this morning ... 10st 5. Is 1lb less than last week. Not entirely happy with that as I was nearer 10st 4 midweek but I guess at least it's heading in the right direction not sure I'll make a stone by Xmas especially as the nearer it gets, the more yummy treats seems to be appearing!

Food today :
Breakfast - tea and banana
Snack - 2 hard boiled eggs, latte
Lunch - tinned mackerel on toast
Dinner - curry ... not sure yet what I'll have but will try and avoid anything too creamy. Thanks for all the suggestions of what to go for Smile

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 10/12/2016 13:24

Well done happy great result! Wench a pound is still a pound that you haven't got anymore. I don't expect to make a stone off for Christmas but thanks in part to this thread I will have lost not far off that, which is a great start for the New Year.
No breakfast for me today as had a lie in. Cheesy scrambled eggs for lunch, I think we will be having Cajun chicken, potato wedges and salad tonight.

Ice3 · 10/12/2016 16:10

That's awesome happy! Well done.
