Morning all!

Well goodness knows how but I seem I have got away with yesterday's blowout as today my scales say 10st 6lb!! So 2.5lb less than last Sunday, and also means 1/2 stone loss in total Smile I don't look any thinner though Confused

I'm not completely unaffected by all that bad food yesterday though as I feel crap this morning and just thinking about all the snacks I ate makes me feel physically sick. It has reminded me that I used to feel sick and bloated and uncomfortable most mornings but in the last 2 weeks of calorie counting, I don't recall feeling like that at all. So that is an excellent thing to remind myself of next time I feel like eating a pile of junk and will hopefully make me steer clear of it!

I am part way through my 5k on the exercise bike as I type (the discovery that I can mnet whilst I pedal is a revelation that makes it much more enjoyable!) and I am definitely going to be back to better food today. No idea yet what lunch and dinner will be but breakfast when I finish cycling will be tea with porridge and banana.

Fingers crossed on some weight loss for everyone else.

zizza · 04/12/2016 08:27

Forgot to report in after weigh-in yesterday (I actually weigh every couple of days or so, but Michael Mosley says that people who weigh more often are more successful, so I don't mind admitting that!)

Starting weight (this time... My weight this time last year was 13st 3): 12st 8
Week 1: 12st 6
Week 2: 12st 4
Week 3: 12st 4 grrr
Week 4: 12st 1 phew

So, won't be a stone off for Christmas but started a bit late for that really. Will just be happy to be under 12st but hoping for maybe another 4lbs by Christmas.

I don't go overboard with eating/drinking over the festive period bit I don't want to be turning down some treats - mainly chocolate Baileys and Lindor balls!!!

So then I'll be trying to get under 11st in time for my holiday at the end of Feb. Haven't seen that on the scales for many years! But if I'm at the low 11s and fitter, I'll be happy.

Then next step will be to get into healthy BMI range which means being under 10st 11. Will have a party when that happens lol. Started in the obese (or whatever they politely call it) range.

Dh still away this week so think I might try a very low carb week. Better go shopping for meat, eggs and veg...

MillieMoodle · 04/12/2016 09:34

Wench I feel exactly the same after all my sugary snacks yesterday. Bloated, sicky and lethargic. I've had a lot more energy the past couple of weeks, when I've been avoiding or cutting back on the sugary snacks. So am back on it this morning with renewed enthusiasm!

Breakfast was actimel, tea and rice crispies. Not sure about lunch yet. Dinner will probably be omelette.

Weigh in this morning was an utter disaster. 11st 9lbs so up 2lbs. Aargh. At least now I know the biscuits have got to stop. So annoyed with myself for messing it up yesterday. Angry

MillieMoodle · 04/12/2016 10:01

Well I tried my wedding ring on again this morning, got it over my knuckle, then it got stuck. I panicked, managed to get it into the right place but it's quite tight and I don't think I'll be able to get it off again! Will definitely have to lose weight now so that it feels more comfortable. Blush hopefully I'll lose weight from my fingers first!

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 04/12/2016 10:43

Morning, great loss wench. I weighed in at 69.3kg - 1.1kgs down. Very pleased as that's my first target of 70kg gone through. I've calculated to be at a healthy BMI I need to be under 62.7kg so my new target is 62.6kg by end of March (allows for the damage of Christmas!).
Dorset cereal porridge for breakfast, going shopping with teenage DD in a bit, may be stress eating later!!!

Ice3 · 04/12/2016 10:51

Congrats Good and zizza Smile Glad you got your ring on Millie. It could just be water retention if you ate "bad" food yesterday? Hopefully it will be off again in a few days.

Start: 172
Week one: 168.6
Week two: 167.0
Week three: No scales
Week four: 162.4
Week five: 159.6

It's my totm next week which means hunger and water retention which I'm prepared for. I'm having a maintenance day today with all the food.

Ice3 · 04/12/2016 10:53

That took me so long to type out that I missed your post Loki, Congrats to you too.

Notsoskinnyminny · 04/12/2016 11:30

3/4lb off for me this week so I've managed 1/2 a stone. I was hoping for more seeing as I've been struggling to eat but all the nibbling and milky coffees mount up. School Christmas dinner this week but I'm hoping to stick to salads the rest of the time and try to avoid the staffroom goodies.

Pork marinating in the fridge so pulled pork carnitas for Monday and Tuesday nights tea. Its really easy and smells delicious - roughly chop a pork joint, cover with a good tablespoon of paprika and cumin stir and leave overnight. Chuck in the slow cooker in the morning and add a tin of chopped tomatoes and cook on low all day, shred with 2 forks and try not to eat too much before serving. I'd normally have it with rice but I'll be good and have shredded savoy cabbage instead.

Well done on all the loses so far and enjoy your shopping trip Loki my DDs got expensive tastes so I vicariously shop through her now. Thankfully she works her ar*se off between studies to fund her designer habit - in fairness she's tiny and a natural size 2-4 so its either designer brands or the kids section when shopping in the UK.

My losses to date are

S - 10st 0
Wk1 - 9st 9.75
Wk2 - 9st 8.75
Wk3 - 9st 7.75
Wk4 - 9st 7.25
Wk5 - 9st 6.5

Right time to put the xmas tree up - fingers crossed the lights still work.

happychristmasbum · 04/12/2016 12:16

Well done to the losers. Millie I find I always lose weight from my fingers first!!! One of rings is now spinning and I am going to have to change the finger it's on.

As suspected, I haven't lost again this week o something is obviously wrong. TBH I think I have absolutely fucked up my metabolism over the years, and 1200 calories is my maintenance intake. So I will go under and try to stick to 1000. A friend who is really into health and nutrition suggested I need to eat more to lose, but I absolutely daren't.

If anyone has any good ideas please do let me know - I won't be offended.

Week 1 12.13
Week 2 12.8
Week 3 12.5
Week 4 12.5
Week 5 12.4
Week 6 12.4

MillieMoodle · 04/12/2016 14:55

Happy I am hoping that I will too, I'll never be able to take the ring off again if I don't!

We've been for a wander round the shops today but my steps aren't as high as I would like. Got some housework to do this afternoon, so hopefully that will increase them. Lunch was KFC - Diet Coke, 3 chicken strips and a medium fries. Have also had 2 Cadbury festive cake things. Not the best food to have but not planning on having any dinner. DH is a bad influence on me, I'm very good when he's at work!

zizza · 04/12/2016 19:20

happy Have a look at the Blood Sugar Diet - might help you to get moving...

Scarzo · 05/12/2016 06:03

Grr. Frustrated this week as I've stayed within my 1200 calorie allowance, but haven't lost any weight.

So this week, I again weigh 66.9kg. Earlier in the week I was 66.5, but it crept up again on Wednesday and stayed there. At least the bottle of wine Blush I drank yesterday at a party didn't push it up even more.

I really wanted to be 64kg before I flew back to the UK for Christmas, but I'm a bit worried I wont manage that now.

Fingers crossed for this week. On the positive side I really feel like I've got my appetite under control, and instead of going to bed hungry, the smaller portions fill me up. (Hmm, maybe I need to think about cutting back to 1000 cal as well?)

Hope you're feeling a bit better ready.

Well done all you losers!

SmellTheGlove · 05/12/2016 07:31

happy I don't know your stats but 1000 is very low. Are you quite light already? I do know how you feel - I don't lose at all unless I stick to 1300 and manage about an hours walking too. If I don't get the steps in I don't lose. I think the reason I'm losing a bit now is that I am walking loads - nearly 2 hours yesterday! AND sticking to my calories. I take antidepressants too which I'm convinced don't help with my metabolism. So maybe try walking more? Sorry if you can't I know one poster wasn't well enough to. Gym etc didn't do much for me- walking does. Good luck. I'm happy to report I am now 11.13 so 5 pounds down. Is it 5 or 6 weeks since we started this thread?

MillieMoodle · 05/12/2016 07:48

Morning all and well done to the losers. Am back to 11st 7lbs this morning so I think yesterday's extra 2lbs on was just a blip (hopefully!).

Have been a bit slack in allowing myself more than one treat a day the last week or so, but I'm going back to that from today as it seems to work!

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 05/12/2016 09:15

Wow my 5k on the bike felt really hard going this morning. I've had an ache in my left hip/lower back for a few days so I don't think that helps. Breakfast today was 2 weetabix with milk and a cup of tea. Not sure about rest of today's food yet. I really need to do some meal planning!

I was just 40cals over my allowance yesterday, due to having to sample a cake each that the dcs made (well it wouldn't have been fair to try one of theirs but not the other, would it?!). Lunch was poached eggs on toast with some ham & tomatoes. Dinner was country vegetable soup and some crackers.

Keep going everyone!

Bibs2014 · 05/12/2016 13:48

Hi everyone!

I am back! Didn't weigh as I knew it would be horrendous.

menu so far:

porridge and ss milk
fruit
butternut squash soup and a wholemeal roll with pork and salad
a sliver of cake... damn this office!!

happychristmasbum · 05/12/2016 20:31

zizza I will look at the blood sugar diet - I have very low blood pressure though and am prone to fainting so I have to be careful about that.

Smell NO!!! I wish!!! It doesn't make any sense. I am 5ft 5 and weigh 12 st 4lbs so my bmi is about 28.5. I shouldn't have to decrease to so few calories but I will try it out and see what happens.

I have hypermobility so exercise has to be in short bursts, so I tend to do 20 mins on the exercise bike about 5 times a week. I can't walk for longer than about 20 minutes without the pain overwhelming me. I did put myself as totally sedentary on MFP but maybe that still assumes a higher level of mobility than I have?

Thanks for all the support. I have still lost 9lbs in 6 weeks but I want to keep losing!!

Bibs2014 · 05/12/2016 21:44

Dinner was mayflower Chinese chicken curry and brown rice.

A galaxy cake bar and a handful of chilli Doritos.

FireflyGirl · 05/12/2016 22:02

I appear to have missed a day yesterday, oops Xmas Blush

Well done to all the losers! We are all doing so well!

happy that really is very few calories! Hopefully it's just a glitch and your body catches up with you!

Can't you tell it's Christmas - lots of cakes creeping their way into our lives!

Well done on sticking with it scarzo

I didn't get to weigh in yesterday, but managed on Saturday, and was down to 11 3.6. Despite Tuesday, I have had my best loss to date! Whoever said last week maybe I need to eat more, you may be onto something!

Today I've had:
B : cereal bar and an apple
L : 2 boiled eggs, bread and hummous (I had a lovely lunch planned but didn't get chance to eat it!)
T : spag bol with a small amount of pasta and courgetti, followed by some dinky deckers.

Under my calories for today, and managed quite a bit of walking, so all going smoothly at the moment.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 05/12/2016 22:32

Fast day today but stressed at work so had a cake for someone's birthday, I never eat cakes in the office! So am 200 calories over my fast day allowance. Oh well tomorrow is another day, mind you I have a Christmas social event tomorrow evening, so goodness only knows how that will go!
To those of you who are sticking on a weight, give it another week sometimes you plateau. Happy 1000 calories sounds too low for someone of your height and weight. Looking at your stats you lost 8 lbs between week 1 and 3, that a big loss, I think your weight loss will start again. 1000 calories is hard to sustain over a period of time. I manage (mostly) the 5:2 diet as I'm only strictly restricting calories on 2 days. For the rest of the time I'm eating around 1400 to 1500 calories per day, a little more at weekends.

Bibs2014 · 06/12/2016 10:50

I've started this morning with two slices of seeded bread with bacon and egg - yummy!

Going to Santa's Grotto later! DH wants Five Guys argh!!

MillieMoodle · 06/12/2016 11:01

Lunch yesterday was roast chicken sandwich with tomatoes and watercress. Dinner was nachos and southern fried chicken strips. Also had a chocolate swirl cakey thing.

Today have had rice crispies, actimel and tea for breakfast. Lunch will be cottage cheese, crackerbread and tomatoes. Dinner will be either pork chops and veg or chicken curry.

Have been quite busy round the house doing stuff the last couple of days so step count has been quite good for me.

Have got a cold though, DS2 is quite unsettled and have a poorly house bunny, so we're feeling a bit sorry for ourselves today. Just need to resist the cakes!

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 06/12/2016 13:00

I wish I'd resisted the cake Millie ... currently sat in Costa having a flavoured skinny latte (fine) and a Belgian chocolate tiffin triangle (483 calories - not fine Blushyummy though)

Also had banana first thing then met a friend for late breakfast and had bacon, mushrooms, tomato, scrambled egg and one slice of brown toast.

So all very yummy but only leaves my 280 calories for dinner later Confused

5k on the bike this morning - might have to do another 5k this evening to burn off some of this cake!

zizza · 06/12/2016 13:30

Need you to keep me focussed! I'm on a fast day and there are Jaffa cakes in this office!!!!

So frustrated that nothing's happened for about a week, but I've been exercising more (running and some general toning stuff) and I do feel like my legs are getting firmer so hopefully it really is one of those "muscle weighs more than fat" weeks.

Bibs2014 · 06/12/2016 13:44

Jus had a bag of wotsits and a tiny portion of leftover curry with 100g rice. Going to have fruit too.
