Well I managed to occupy myself with housework until 1045, when I sat down to bacon, scrambled egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and a slice of seeded toast. It was delish Smile Thought no need for lunch as I ate that so late in the morning and decided that if I got all my housework done then I'd reward myself with a proper coffee and a cake when I had to pop out to the shops. It would just about keep my under my calories. So here I am in the coffee shop and it was a total waste of calories Angry I'm normally a Costa girl but not near one today so I am in the cafe in a shop (which I've used before and always liked) but the coffee today was disappointing and the shortbread cookie thing was a total waste of 240 cals! Don't you hate it when you're really looking forward to something and it's a complete letdown?

Ah well. I've got sausage, mash and veg for dinner plus my bedtime got chocolate to look forward to and as long as I don't have anything else, I'll still be under my allowance for today.

Ice3 · 01/12/2016 16:22

That's a shame Wench.

I got a new planner to keep track of it all as a reward for losing 2st. It's so pretty! Is any one else rewarding themselves?

I've only had 146cal so far. Fruit teacake with butter as a snack soon and then I have loads left for a late dinner Halo

Bibs2014 · 01/12/2016 17:07

CAKE - I'm awful for eating DS's leftovers. I'm just brutal now and chuck them before I have a chance to pic. It's all cold and nasty anyway really if you think about it?! Grin

Eurgh left myself no cals for dinner again Angry. Have my work Xmas do tomorrow night then another party on Saturday so going to plan mfp menus from Sunday I think!

Bibs2014 · 01/12/2016 17:14

Sorry firefly forgot to answer you - I had my normal dinner of 100g brown rice and chicken curry and a bowl of pineapple and that kept me full all evening.

I need to buy more variety when it comes to fruit as I love it and it keeps me full.

This week I have not been as good as I should be because I have not been food shopping Shock

readyforsunshine · 02/12/2016 06:57

Thanks for asking firefly Smile hopefully better today. Unfortunately I have some strange undiagnosed illness that causes terrible lethargy amongst other symptoms. My flares are reduced now but when I'm bad I crave carbs for energy. This is what caused my weight gain in the first place, along with my having to give up exercise. Sadly if I overdo things it seems to make it worse. Still, I seem to be coming out of the latest flare, fingers xed, will be good today but am out tonight & it's a calorific set meal.
Very impressed at all of you, can definitely see some habits changing even though you have some ups & downs. I'm reading all your posts to see if you've been naughty or niceWink

FireflyGirl · 02/12/2016 10:07

I'm definitely nice at the moment, ready. Hopefully you are over this latest flare Flowers. Do you have a plan for tonight?

So, yesterday I had:
B : Egg and soldiers with mushrooms
L : Chicken salad with feta and feta stuffed peppers
T : Spanish chicken with chorizo, served with butternut squash spaghetti. I didn't cook the squash long enough, was a complete guess, so it was a bit rubbish, but was definitely a good one to serve with the chicken.

Snacks: I had some more florentines Blush Only 3, 138 calories, but I didn't need them so I am now going to hide them out in the garage with the rest of the Christmas food!

Enjoy your work's Christmas party Bibs. We'll only start to worry if we haven't heard from you by Monday Wink

Ice I was thinking of buying myself a non-chocolate advent calendar to open a door for every lb lost, but couldn't decide what type so I think I've missed the boat...

How disappointing, Wench. I know what you mean about a waste of calories, though. You start thinking of all the nicer things you could have had instead. But, it's all part of the journey, and should help you to say no in future to the things you don't really want.

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 02/12/2016 12:18

Afternoon all Smile

I'm working today so no exercise bike but I did cycle to work, 2.5k in around 15mins, plus same to go home later. So far today I've had tea and banana v v early, instant coffee and some toast with honey at normal breakfast time, flavoured latte mid morning (but I forgot to ask for skinny milk Envy). Lunch is carrot and coriander soup, yogurt and some grapes. Dinner tonight is a slow cooked pork stew thing. Should just be under my allowance today as long as I don't succumb to cake at the school Xmas fare later!

Notsoskinnyminny · 02/12/2016 18:18

Right ladies I am officially this week's biggest loser - a whopping 235lbs Grin I cracked a tooth on Wednesday and need a crown Sad ironically I did it on a stick of sugar-free gum in an attempt to avoid the chocolatey goodies in the staffroom. I am hoping for a decent loss on Sunday morning because I can hardly eat a thing due to the ulcers on my tongue. DH said he'd pay for it as my xmas present - you can imagine the look he got and I won't be sharing my wine with him later.

Well done on the 2 stone loss Firefly

Oooh I've not done pulled pork in the slow cooker for ages Wench, that's next week's dinners sorted for a couple of days.

zizza · 02/12/2016 19:54

I usually do 5:2 and I've found that works brilliantly for me (when I do it properly! and exercise!!). But I've just heard about Michael Mosley's latest "thing" - Blood Sugar Diet. Much more drastic but looks fantastic for people who have type 2 diabetes, are pre-diabetic or generally have trouble with blood sugar levels. Worth a read...

In the meantime, I've been for another run and can nearly do the whole thing without walking (but not quite) and an about to eat a Count On Us chilli with extra veg. Weigh in tomorrow

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 02/12/2016 19:55

Gah! I should've stayed away from the Xmas fare cake stall. One chocolate cupcake and a slice of apple pie has sent me way over my allowance for today Angry where's my willpower when I need it?! Ah well. Back to it tomorrow.

FireflyGirl · 02/12/2016 21:09

It's only going to get harder the closer we get to Christmas, Wench Sad

That's great about the running, zizza. All starting to come together!

Thanks Notso, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a good loss for you. I didn't eat for 10 days a couple of years ago when I got an horrendous infection in my mouth (I had a missed miscarriage which they only found when they sent me for a scan because I had a raging fever due to the infection, and they don't know if the mmc weakened my immune system and increased the severity of the infection). Anyway, after 10 days of not being able to open my mouth to put anything in, I lost a grand total of... 4lb. 4 fecking pounds. Hence why I said having lost 6lb last month was a nigh-on miracle for me.

B : cinnamon bagel with Lurpak, an apple and some grapes
L : Chicken salad with feta and feta stuffed peppers
T : cajun chicken tray bake, followed by 6 dinky deckers.

Under my calories today. And quite pleased generally because a mid-week weigh in at the gym last night suggests I will still have a loss this week despite Tuesday's splurge.

And my smaller jeans are starting to get loose; I need a belt on with them now. That's a nice feeling Grin

OP posts:
Ice3 · 02/12/2016 21:20

Eurgh the fact that I've been losing a fair bit this week has weakened my willpower massively today. I just made 4 pieces of bacon as a 'snack' Blush

Think I need to have a fresh start tomorrow.

MillieMoodle · 02/12/2016 23:00

Well done everyone on your willpower! I need some sent my way please. Today has been mediocre.

B: actimel, tea and rice crispies
L: baked beans (1/3 tin) on 2 slices of wholemeal toast.
D: fish & chips from chip van as DS1 had football training so we eat late on a Friday.

Also had an Options hot chocolate orange drink (39 cals!), a hot dog at DS1's school Xmas fair and a crispie cake. But I did do over 9,000 steps which is pretty good for me at the moment. I am definitely finding it easier than I was not to snack. I just need to make sure I stick to it as I do feel like I've achieved something each time I lose a pound. If I feel hungry I have a cup of tea and then do something to try and make myself busy.

My wedding ring still doesn't fit though; I'm not sure my clothes are any looser and I haven't lost anything yet this week. Aargh.

Will start on the exercise bike tomorrow as I don't think this next 1/2 is going to be as easy to shift as the first 1/2 stone was!

cakegoblin · 03/12/2016 00:24

Hello everyone,
Well my first day on MFP was fine, yesterday was fantastic and I thought I'd cracked it! Rang my mum to tell her I'm on a diet and everything. This morning, inspired by your post Bibs2014, I even binned my two-year-old's untouched slice of jam on toast Halo Unfortunately his only request for today's activities was to 'do baking' on his home day today and before I know it I'm doing gingerbread men and the Christmas cake. I held out for a while but in the end, obviously I had to try some... haven't even counted since lunchtime tbh but I had a small dinner to make up for it (do 3 surplus fish fingers and a glass of wine count as dinner?) Impossible to count not loads of food volume-wise but the picking!! Bloody rum-soaked glacé cherries. Seeing my parents tomorrow which is always a minefield but I will attempt to keep at it.
Zizza I like 5:2 too, but takes a lot of concentration for me not to habitually pop stuff in my mouth while cooking though and then I feel I've spoiled it! (sensing a pattern here) Might have a look at the Blood Sugar Diet thing, when I have been off sugar in the past I have zero cravings for anything, it's like magic. Ooh Notso thanks for the pulled pork plan! On list for next week.
Starting again tomorrow. The important thing is not to beat ourselves up about the small things, right?

SmellTheGlove · 03/12/2016 07:34

Sneaky unofficial weigh in today and I'm down another pound! So I've actually lost 5lbs. It's a bit pathetic but I'm actually so happy I could cry! I feel like I've just been stuck for the last 6 months and it's been really frustrating and demoralising. So I'm now just under 12 stone and only 2 pounds off being in the healthy weight bmi! I'd still like to lose another 5/6 pounds after that but I feel quite positive for a change!

FireflyGirl · 03/12/2016 07:44

Exactly right, cake. And you're only just starting, at the worst time of year for temptation appearing out of nowhere!

Today is a new day! Hopefully, your mum will get on side with your plan and not tempt you too much.

Millie, please don't be too downhearted. You're still only a couple of months from giving birth, aren't you? And your body probably hasn't gone back to its normal shape yet. You are on the right track, but your body might just need to readjust itself a little. There's still time for a loss, and even if not, you might have a whoosh next week instead.

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 03/12/2016 08:11

That's brilliant, smell, very well done. And not pathetic at all - think we're all the same here. We'll celebrate every victory!

OP posts:
happychristmasbum · 03/12/2016 10:25

I did a sneaky unofficial weigh in today and haven't lost anything again. I really don't know what t do other than reducing to 1000 calories.

I honestly haven't cheated so I just don't get it. Will do official weigh in tomorrow and will report back. I can't believe I have to cut back that much in order to lose weight but 1200 calories is obviously my maintenance intake Sad

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 03/12/2016 11:41

Well done smell
Cheesy scrambled eggs with a little chorizo for me for brunch. Will keep me going until dinner hopefully.
This really is the danger time of year - some kind person gave me some chocolates yesterday as an early Christmas present as I won't see them again before Christmas. I've had to get DH to put them in the loft with the other Christmas grub!

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 03/12/2016 17:48

Waaaaah! I've failed miserably today Blush it all started to go wrong with that cupcake at the school Xmas fare yesterday. Today I've been at work and it was so so busy I just had to grab some food a delicious but very naughty nut toffee flapjack, then missed a proper lunch, snacked on more very delicious cheese and crackers when I got in. Then have been to a kids birthday party and am ashamed to say I nibbled some party food. Now just having my real dinner of hard boiled eggs with grilled bacon and mushroooms. I am around 2000 cals today so way over my 1400 allowance. I do not hold out much hope for weigh in tomorrow Envy

So annoyed with myself and feel like I've undone all the food I've achieved over the last 2 weeks (which I know isn't totally true but I feel like such a pig atm)

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 03/12/2016 18:10

^^ all the good I've achieved, not all the food (though all the food is definitely more appropriate for the last 2 days Blush)

FireflyGirl · 03/12/2016 19:29

Deep breath, Wench. Weigh in tomorrow, suck it up if it's bad, and move on. Life is too short.

happy wait and see tomorrow. It could be any of a number of things, including your scales being wrong! Stick with it! You'll feel so much better, you really will.

Loki that's great will power. Did DH follow your bidding?

Today I've had:
B : apple
L : stuffed peppers with zesty quinoa (from Iceland) and salad
T : chili with rice
Have also had half a bottle of asti and a small bottle of white zinfandel. Still under my calories, but it's a good thing I went to the gym this morning Xmas Grin

Will see what the scales say tomorrow...

OP posts:
Ice3 · 03/12/2016 22:48

I had a good day today. Eggs, chicken, veggies and soup. Hopefully it shows tomorrow on the scale. I have already planned out all of my food for tomorrow. I'm going to eat at my maintenance calories for the day which looks like loads now.

MillieMoodle · 03/12/2016 22:51

Oh dear god today has been awful! Wench, you're not alone! I haven't even recorded all my food today yet, I dread to think what the calories will be. I'll be honest with you all though, here goes:

B: sausage, bacon, fried egg, baked beans, mushrooms, hash brown.

L: corned beef roll, tomato, a few pombears, jam doughnut.

D: McDonalds festive cheese feast burger (only ate half as it was gross), medium fries, Coke Zero.

Snacks Blush: options salted caramel hot chocolate, another jam doughnut, 4 chocolate fingers, 2 Jaffa cakes, nesquik hot chocolate.

I will have to do a LOT of walking next week and am already dreading my weigh in tomorrow morning. Aargh. So annoyed with myself for falling off the wagon so spectacularly.

Firefly yes DS2 is 11 weeks so it's not that long ago that I had him. My stomach in particular has taken a battering! He was 9lbs 6oz so my bump was massive and still hasn't gone completely. He's so worth it though Grin

Right. Tomorrow is another day and I will be back on it properly!

Bibs2014 · 03/12/2016 22:55

Well done cakegoblin!

I'll be back on it tomorrow Smile
