Just got back from holiday this morning and while I feel like I've stayed the same or even lost a bit ( I don't weigh myself as I don't want reasons to celebrate or commiserate) I want to continue with the healthy eating I did while there

I was pretty careful . Limited myself to one treat a day, a gluten free cake , ice cream lolly with chocolate and nuts around.

I never bought any chocolate ( unusual for me). Very few potatoes. I found veg and protein was enough in that heat.
Not a big drinker. A gin and tonic for me is a tonic with a splash of gin a couple of times a day and we walked for miles.

So....I have a wedding coming up next year and I have four lovely dresses to choose from. Two I got married in ( knee length rather than bridal). One champagne, other a kindd of French beige. I can get them zipped but can't breathe in them.

Then I have a pale green and a pale pink. They are unworn as they were new last year and I couldn't wear them as I'd put some weight on.

So...my plan is to practice healthy eating and intermittent fasting till Christmas.

My usual breakfast omelette but this time allowing more than 13 hours of fasting between dinner the night before and breakfast. Green soup. Today's looked putrid but tasted fine. It was a rich dark blue green as a teaspoon of spirulina went in as well. Plus a few cashews and a bit of feta

Tonight will be homemade turkey curry. Eaten by 7 to allow for the fast.

I don't want to go back to chocolate or crisps when I snack.
It's going to be painful as Im Already gluten and mostly dairy free, so I can only cut back on sugary snacks and it's so much cooler here so I want to eat.

I'm also going to look into mindful eating.

Anyone with me till Christmas.

Then it will be a couple of days off. Then back on till our next break in march where I'll have to watch myself for the wedding in may.

I like to have a goal.

Brill I can only think that you must have been wearing the wrong size bra? How long is it since you were last measured? I feel your pain I'm a 32h too, I hate it! When I was breastfeeding I went up to a JJ I didn't even know that size existed! 😳 Don't be too disheartened.. I know its not a great feeling but you are doing so well with the weight loss.. and just think millions of women pay to have the size we have! ( I'm not sure if that's comforting or frightening!)

RonBurgundysMoustache · 11/11/2016 21:28

I didn't mean that to sound patronising Brill I just know I had been measured professionally and thought I was obviously int be right size but was measured again 6months later and was a size bigger.. so sometimes they get it wrong!

BrillianaHarvey · 11/11/2016 21:43

Oh goodness, not feeling patronised! No, I think 32G was the right size when I was last measured - maybe 2 years ago, but definitely heavier. And at times when I've weighed about a stone more than now I've been 34e or F. But I know different bras fit differently, etc etc.
I just find it so depressing to have to wear freakmonster bras when the rest of me is a size 12. Honestly, two of the three I ended up with could you only be described as 'contraptions'.
So new weight loss target is to wear a bra that doesn't make me feel suicidal.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 11/11/2016 22:15

Yes I know what you mean! I wish I could just wear some lovely small bra's! I've actually been referred to see a consultant about having a Breast reduction.. as they cause me so many problems.. is that maybe something you could look into if they make you so unhappy?

BrillianaHarvey · 11/11/2016 23:01

I have thought about it but not seriously. I'm put off by the thought of wonky nipples.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 11/11/2016 23:12

Yeah that is a consideration, but as it's only my husband that ever sees them I can live with that! If they are smaller and suit my body better I would be so much happier!

Dowser · 12/11/2016 10:34

Back on track now.
Yesterday ate the tops of three small pieces of quiche
Mince stew
5 quality street

Today after a fifteen hour fast, just had my breakfast omelette.
Going back to Tenerife is 3 weeks so that might spur me on a bit.
( couldn't resist the £45 flights)

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 12/11/2016 13:45

Gosh Dowser that's not a lot for one day, remember your body does need food to operate Smile Great deal on your flights, that's very tempting after the horrid night we had last night!

How is everyone else doing? Brill I share your horror of 'contraptions', but will admit I had a little giggle at the wonky nipple chat Grin

I'm still feeling rubbish, but have been strangely productive - the kitchen has had a deep clean, the beds are all changed and I've made (yet) another vat of cauliflower soup Blush. Feeling like I'm running out of energy now, so I'm on the sofa, with a duvet and DH is about to take the DCs out somewhere so I can have a bit of peace and quiet Smile

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/11/2016 11:19

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Scales are up 1lb this morning, but I think that's just a random fluctuation so I'm not too concerned about it - if they don't move down again during the coming week, I may cut down a bit on my dairy intake less cheese and up the leafy veg a bit more.

I'm meeting an old friend for lunch, but I'm fairly certain he's going to be very hungover, so I will have a chicken caesar salad, with no croutons but plenty of dressing, and a fizzy water, and feel very smug Grin

Dowser · 13/11/2016 11:52

Had the headache from hell yesterday though the night and a bit this morning.
Had omelette for breakfast yesterday
mince stew , small portion no potato for lunch,
M and s chicken with roast veg for dinner
3-4 quality street
Millionaires shortbread without the crumbs at the bottom

I'll skip breakfast today and go straight to lunch as a penance for the sugar yesterday

Anyone thinking of one of these for Christmas . Have a look at that article .

Hope the headache is faded now Dowser

Lunch out with old friend was lovely, and well-behaved. It's been a few years since we last saw each other and so had lots to catch up on. Lots of reminiscing and gossiping about mutual friends!

Now sitting with a glass of actually quite drinkable non-alcoholic white wine, while DH finishes cooking dinner Smile

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/11/2016 18:22

Arg, pressed post too soon - carbs-wise, I'm ok for the day, but think I will make a more concerted effort to reduce the amount of dairy I'm eating, to help the scales move downwards Smile

BrillianaHarvey · 13/11/2016 18:41

Have had a rather relaxed weekend. Scales ok this morning, but out for lunch today: was not particularly restrained, also had two glasses of wine. Suspect I will pay the price when I get on the scales tomorrow morning.
Tractors, your self-control is admirable!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/11/2016 19:54

Ha, Brill - self-control is definitely not a virtue of mine! I think the low-carbing is helping me think differently - I'd normally have been face-down in a bowl of pasta! It just felt easy to ignore it, and the bread basket. I think that's probably the first time in my life that's happened Shock

I will admit that the AF wine is only because DH picked it up by mistake at the supermarket Blush

RonBurgundysMoustache · 13/11/2016 19:54

Evening ladies.. all doing well I see!

Dowser hope your head is feeling better now!

Tractors well done, you sound like you have had a good weekend!

Brill hope you had a nice lunch? You have lost so much so don't worry about one day of indulgence!

I've had an ok day had a few glasses of wine but was way under calories so it helped me make those up! So hopefully by end of next week will see a few pounds gone again!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/11/2016 19:55

gah, and again pressed post too soon - hope the scales are kind to you tomorrow, I'm sure you won't have derailed your fab progress so far!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/11/2016 20:02

Ron - that sounds like a good day for you too Smile

Dowser · 13/11/2016 23:15

Much better thanks. Maybe the amino acids in the meat helped to repair some damage. Also took tissue salts which help to get minerals you are lacking into the cells.
Will have a quick dowse of my stash before bed...I don't want that back in a hurry.

I've undereaten today and am starving now....too late to start eating now
:-(

Hope the weigh ins tomorrow are good.

Horrace, I totally sympathise. I am up 1lb from Friday after the weekend's indulgences.
Also am going out on Wednesday and Friday nights.
Must must stay resolute. I've definitely lost enough to feel different but not enough for clothes not to fit, so I really need to stay on the wagon for at least another couple of weeks.

Dowser · 14/11/2016 08:50

If you go low calorie today you could claw it back
Don't forget a lot of it will be water weight.
I'm not holding much water at the moment because I'm fasting but as soon as I go off track I just bloat out

Been thinking of the tissue salts I've just bought. With what I already had I nearly have the full set.
I'm going to dowse them to see if I'm deficient in anything. And top up with those.
I think th body has a way of getting us to eat what it needs and that's why cravings are so strong especially for salty foods if we are deficient in a certain salt..
There's 12 tissue salts and they are all potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium based which are the main constituents of our cells and silica.
Just thinking aloud but it maybe why some of us lean towards salty, savoury snacks. Salty chocolate caramel...yum

I kept getting ferrum phos in my dowsing which is an iron salt. Maybe a lack of it was the reason for my headache. I don't know. I had lamb for lunch. Red meats are supposed to be rich in iron and my head certainly cleared after I'd eaten my lunch.

I find the science behind good nutrition fascinating. I wish I knew more or had the time to study it properly.
My dil thinks she's getting a sickness bug and has an interview to our. If she came to me I'd have her sorted by this evening l certainly she'd be well enough to put her best foot forward for the interview.

Morning ladies.

I had a bit of a bad night too, far too many wines! Did well food wise but then just kept drinking! So no more of that.. I'm doing well so mustn't sabotage myself now!!

We can all get back on the wagon together!!

Dowser glad you are feeling better

Dowser · 14/11/2016 09:54

Thanks Ron

Yes I'm on the band wagon.
3.5 weeks to holidays.
That should be three pounds off shouldn't it.
Maybe 5 if I try really hard.

Hi Ron! Let's both stay resolved not to start sliding this week. I've had my morning porridge- it really helps that the small boy is really into it as I make it for both of us. I need to make sure I have a sensible lunch and then The momentum is there for the evening.
