I know there is a thread for active weight loss but a quick look shows its already started and seems to be followed by those who have 1 to 2 stone to lose. This positive support thread is for us heavier ones with the short term goal to lose 2 stone by Christmas.

Some will remember my weight loss journey. Several stones lost and several more to go. I thought it might be nice for us to boast about our losses or cry about our gains together. Support with no judgement.

Well, 1st day on SW. I just couldn't make my mind up what to eat. I felt quite confused and overwhelmed. I have previously been a member of WW but on my last attempt I couldn't stand the 2 local leaders, they were just full of bullshit and plain wrong.

I travel quite a bit for work so this is going to be a challenge but with 6 stone to lose (that's the first time I have written that down and I feel sick), it's now or never really.

Starface · 14/09/2016 19:21

So today the scales said 79kg! Hurrah. Though they go up and down quite a bit and I expect that to go up again. And that is with a very relaxed weekend.

But overall I need to pick the pace up.

Sleeplessinmybedroom · 14/09/2016 19:24

Had to weigh tonight at a different group instead of my usual Thursday night weigh in because Dp is working late tomorrow. I lost 1.5lbs. That's 2.5lbs so far for September and 4st 4lbs in total. I really want 3lb off this week to get my 4.5st award and I'll be in another stone bracket.

MrsWOLF1 · 14/09/2016 21:04

Hi can I join in ,I joined sw two weeks ago and have lost 15lb .I have heaps to lose and am under no illusion that its going to take time .10 stone ,well technically 9 now

Laniakea · 14/09/2016 21:22

meh ... been crap today ... 150 over. I'm premenstrual & ravenous.

Imnotaslimjim · 14/09/2016 23:51

Well done wolf 15lb in 2 weeks is awesome!

I set myself a goal off 1400 cals, I don't seem to function well in les than that. I've managed to stay under it since I started on Sunday so I'm doing ok. Next HIIT class tomorrow, not really looking forward too it but it's worth it.

Salutarychoring · 15/09/2016 08:51

Well done to everyone who lost weight so far!

I am using all of your examples to give me some inspiration!

Even though I could hardly do up my linen trousers this morning I am still lacking in motivation (although rapidly coming to the conclusion that motivation comes after action and not the other way around!)

LottieDoubtie · 15/09/2016 08:52

Motivation seems to be almost entirely random for me. It's either there or it isn't.

Right now I'm on track and hoping it continues. I even went for a run last night Shock I'm attempting c25k at the moment.

Sleeplessinmybedroom · 15/09/2016 10:35

Well done Wolf that's an amazing loss.

I'm all or nothing too, either positively saintly or really bad. I've just done day one of the shred. The only exercise ive done so far is walking and I need to start toning up.

user1473935485 · 15/09/2016 11:36

I would like to join in with this, but i'd like to go down two dress sizes, rather than have a goal weight. I have no motivation! I need help! Sad

Imnotaslimjim · 15/09/2016 12:31

User14 have you an outfit you want to get into or an event you're wanting to slim down for? Working towards a goal can give the boost you need. If it's an outfit, hang it somewhere you can see it every day. If it's an event, count back from it. Keep in mind that it is roughly 1st to 1 dress size and divide the loss by the amount of weeks to give you an idea of if it's possible.

magicpie · 15/09/2016 14:06

Imnotaslimjim yeah it's a wedding where I'm a bridesmaid and as all the family will be there I'd like to feel good about myself when I look back at the pictures. I guess it's about 2 stone I would like to lose then, so it works for this thread! :) 2 stone in 2.5 months should be do able I think...? I'd just like some people to talk to, to keep me motivated :)

((Sorry for the change in usernames, I didn't know how to set my username when I originally posted))

Imnotaslimjim · 15/09/2016 15:48

2.5lb a week or thereabouts. Very doable. I'm aiming for 3lb a week but I have a lot more to lose. I'm sure you'll do it.

DavidPuddy · 15/09/2016 16:03

There is some very inspiring weight loss going on! I won't join you regularly because I need to lose weight a bit more slowly (still breastfeeding), but I wanted to share that what helps me lose weight most effectively is to keep on top of hydration levels. I drink a min of 2 litres of water a day and since doing so I have lost weight steadily and I also look much better, skin hair, nails etc.

Good luck!

Sewblunt · 15/09/2016 18:12

Just had my first SW weigh in and I lost 6lb in my first week! I'm over the moon!

Howlongtillbedtime · 15/09/2016 18:18

That's fantastic sewblunt you must be delighted !

magicpie · 15/09/2016 18:46

Wow! 6lb! That's amazing! Congrats! :)

Sewblunt · 15/09/2016 18:54

I am soooooo pleased! I'm breast feeding still though and part of that success is down to my DS being a calorie drain! If my second week is half as successful as that I will be delighted!

alabasterangel · 15/09/2016 20:18

Day 2 back on MFP. Counted meticulously. Had banana for late breakfast, udon noodle soup and fruit for lunch, twiglets, chickpea soup with salad and flatbread for supper. One small measured white wine, water, sugar free squash.

I'm bloody famished and tired and grumpy. Going to bed to avoid thinking about it. Sustainable? Unlikely!

MagdaMagyarMadam · 15/09/2016 21:43

Sewblunt - Fantastic - Well done! I hope I have a similar success on SW. Not sure though; I'm on day 2 and had a mahoosive bowl of pasta with chicken for dinner. How can I lose weight eating like this???

Sewblunt · 15/09/2016 23:10

magda it really does work! I was doing SW before I got pregnant with DS and it worked for me then too. Just measure all your syns and HE's and make 1/3 of your plate speed food. If you do that then you will lose plenty this week. Are you breastfeeding too? If so then do make sure to eat all your dairy healthy extras. I take calcium and vit d too, just to be safe. Good luck, I'm excited for you!

MagdaMagyarMadam · 15/09/2016 23:30

I think you're right - I need to up the speed food and have it as a distinct ad separate portion on the plate/dish. There was loads of mushrooms and chicken in the pasta but I didn't have anything extra. I'll look for a plate to make my very own and mark it out.

sneezeandclench · 16/09/2016 06:27

I jumped on the scales this morning and was very disappointed to have stayed the same weight as last week. I'm going to have to really knuckle down this week to shed some lard. I can't get away with little cheats now like I did when I was younger and I really do want to lose 2stone before Christmas. Salad it is then Sad

Sleeplessinmybedroom · 16/09/2016 07:16

Well done sew.

Imnotaslimjim · 16/09/2016 07:26

Well done Sue that's awesome

I've had a weigh (promised myself I would get obsessed but can't seem to not weigh myself mid week) I've lost 4lb so far. Chuffed to bits!
