I know there is a thread for active weight loss but a quick look shows its already started and seems to be followed by those who have 1 to 2 stone to lose. This positive support thread is for us heavier ones with the short term goal to lose 2 stone by Christmas.

Some will remember my weight loss journey. Several stones lost and several more to go. I thought it might be nice for us to boast about our losses or cry about our gains together. Support with no judgement.

I'm in. I lost nearly 4st after having dd2 (5st from my heaviest) but then gave up for Christmas last year and haven't been able to get back on it Sad

I've now put 1.4st back on Shock Sad and really want to lose it plus the rest!

Salutarychoring · 11/09/2016 13:03

Oops First post here badly worded! Just came back on to say I have much more than a 1/2 stone to lose!!

ilovesooty · 11/09/2016 13:29

I lost a couple of stones two years ago and need to take it off again just for starters. I'm going to a friend's wedding in Mexico possibly in early 2018 and I'd like to be a reasonable weight by then.

MrsJen3 · 11/09/2016 13:43

I would love to join. I'm huge (need to lose half my body weight) and think about losing weight day in and day out but I'm just too lazy to actually put down the biscuits/crisp/crap and make a myself bloody decent healthy nutritious meal. Two stone by Christmas would be fantastic, three would be bloody amazing!

allnewredfairy · 11/09/2016 13:58

I'm in. I've lost 2st on SW since june so need to set an interim target. Overall I have about another 6st to go but I'll save the other 4st for after Christmas (as a treat Hmm)
I want to be a regular person for my 50th in August (as opposed to 2 regular peopleGrin)

ChopsticksandChilliCrab · 11/09/2016 14:38

I'm in. I have lost 2 stone since Easter, not by counting calories or weighing anything but by following a low carb diet. So no potatoes, rice, pasta, sugar or alcohol, except on very special occasions. It is getting harder and harder to keep going so any help and encouragement would be great.

scratchypoopants · 11/09/2016 17:00

Hello ChopsticksandChilliCrab (and everyone else -waves-) sounds like you are doing similar to me - no bread, pasta, rice etc here either - and 800 calories a day at the mo Shock. I just love carbs, especially bread, but I felt much better when I did the same in the spring/early summer, so am hoping it works again. Looking forward to roast lemon chicken and salad for tea GrinGrin!

ChopsticksandChilliCrab · 11/09/2016 18:34

Hi scratchy, I'm interested to hear about your diet- losing 3 stones in 8 weeks is amazing! I've only managed 2 stones in 20 weeks. A wedding incentive is lovely- I will hopefully have DD's graduation to go to next year and would like to look as good as possible for that.

MrsHam13 · 11/09/2016 18:46

Can I join please. I'm at my heaviest iv ever been and totally disgusted by myself when I look in the mirror. iv no idea what I weigh and scared to look but going to actively start dieting and exercising tomorrow. Would like to lose three stone by Xmas.

It's my brothers wedding on the 6th November. Two stone by then would be great!

user1471462290 · 11/09/2016 18:56

Good luck to everyone xx

Loulou2kent · 11/09/2016 19:06

I'm in please. Actually scared to weigh myself Sad I know it's around 15st something.... I really struggle getting DP on side. I cook twice everynight anyway so really don't want to cook a 3rd separate meal!

Loulou2kent · 11/09/2016 19:15

Also just to add I want to cut the carbs completely too & be a healthy size for my 30th next year!

Starface · 11/09/2016 19:18

I'll join in and try to keep up too. Started at beginning of Aug at 84 kg. Now 79.4 kg. Had DD2 in June and baby weight x2 is distressing plus none of my clothes fit. Planning to get back well below pre DD1 weight. Target is 64kg. I'm currently breastfeeding and moving more, plus carrying baby as extra weight. Calorie counting but with a generous 1900 allowance. Have dropped of the tracking wagon slightly but hoping to get back on.

scratchypoopants · 11/09/2016 20:13

Hello again chopsticks. I've pasted a link to the diet I'm following below. I'm not diabetic, but seem to tick quite a few of the boxes for carb "addiction". Also I like the idea of hitting it hard for a defined period of time as that suits me better than slow and steady. I do intend to try and continue with low carbs once I get down to a sensible weight. I probably lost a lot because I am very big. Like allnew I need to lose about half my body weight to achieve a BMI in the healthy range. Also 800 calories a day is quite drastic, but I need drastic and have spoken to my gp.

Can I join please? In 2014 I lost 6 stone 4lbs but have recently gain over a stone back and am horrified. I still have about 4 stone to lose in total I think. Two by the end of the year would be perfect. I've just lost 8lbs in 7 days after appendicitis but imagine some will reappear as I start eating again. I need to keep it moving downwards!

MagdaMagyarMadam · 11/09/2016 23:19

May I join please? I am about to sign up with SW and have a lot to lose. Would really appreciate support outside of the weekly meetings.

ChopsticksandChilliCrab · 12/09/2016 06:39

Thank you scratchy- I'm taking a look!

LottieDoubtie · 12/09/2016 06:55

Ok I'm in!

I too have a lot to lose but 2st by Christmas would be a cracking start.

My lovely friends frogmarched me to SW last week. I haven't actually read the book yet... but I have been trying to eat healthily and generally 'less' this week. Second Weigh in tonight so we shall see...

Laniakea · 12/09/2016 08:14

Can I join too? I lost 60lbs doing 5:2 in 2015 but have been rubbish this year & obvious put some (well lots!) back on!

I'm doing the blood sugar diet this time - just for a bit of variety! I need to lose 40lbs, then I'm planning to get the last bit off by 5:2 again. Doing it 10lbs at a time

PinkFreesia · 12/09/2016 13:12

Welcome to everyone who's recently joined us...I really enjoyed reading your little stories, its good to see that there's so many of us.

So, How did everyone's weekend go? I weigh everyday but aim for weekly loss. This weekend I stayed the same but overall loss is looking good. My main problem over the weekend wasn't so much the different foods but the lack of exercise. Does anybody else find that running around Monday to Friday burn the cals but come a lazy weekend and it slows down?

Can I join you all as well? I have a lot to lose (as in a whole person). But if I can get the ball rolling by losing 2 stone by Christmas I would be extremely happy.

I've been doing WW, but don't really like it and struggle to get to meetings. I think I will cancel my membership and use this group as the motivator to keep to a plan. I weighed in on the scales in Boots this morning and will carry on doing this on a Friday for the weekly weight-loss (hopefully not being too optimistic here) report. I'm going to log using MFP - but I really like your way of eating PinkFresia - think I will work on developing a way like this that works for me.

Good luck everyone

I use my fitness pal as well. My name on there is darkswanx, if anyone wants to be friends on there. If you're friends you can cheer each other on and see progress etc

Laniakea · 12/09/2016 18:56

Finished 24 calories under today with 29g of carbs. I had a veggie stir fry instead of the burritos that I made for everyone else this evening.

I'm bloody knackered, was up half the night with ds2 ... I am planning a very early night then the same again tomorrow!

notagiraffe · 12/09/2016 19:04

OP I stepped on the scales last week and realised I no longer have a stone to lose but two stone, so I'll join you. Your meal plan sounds really healthy and quite strict - the pounds should fall off.
My problem is willpower, and I hate dieting. I just have to decide to diet and it triggers a bag of jelly babies and half a tub of ben and Jerry's. So I need to go for 'healthy eating' lifestyle change. Loved Rosemary Conley when I was younger, and SW was OK, but never stuck it for more than two weeks.
