I know there is a thread for active weight loss but a quick look shows its already started and seems to be followed by those who have 1 to 2 stone to lose. This positive support thread is for us heavier ones with the short term goal to lose 2 stone by Christmas.

Some will remember my weight loss journey. Several stones lost and several more to go. I thought it might be nice for us to boast about our losses or cry about our gains together. Support with no judgement.

Ha if only!

Hi all...late to the party but do you mind if I join?

I'm teetering on 12st but used to be 9st...keen to get back there but I always lose focus. Scary thing for me is the sudden lack of mobility and back pains. My tummy seems to get in the way of the simplest tasks Sad

I'm doing the warrior way of eating as I binge at night and think this could be a good Solution! I've been trying it for a few days and it's feeling OK so far. I'm going to try and exercise lots too...maybe add in some posture or pilates as I'm hunched with the big heavy boobs and constant laptop position.

1st day of exercise for me today. Bit worried but I'm determined to change this body back!

Hello all, and welcome to Afro, Mountain and 3dogs. Well this week has been a tough one thanks to it being half term and good old AF showing her ugly face. With my lovely menstrual bloat and lack of walking this week, I fully expected the scales to stay still, or even show a slight increase...

I am delighted to say I have lost 2lb since last Friday and I am now 12st 9.5lb. In just under two months I have 1.5lb short of 2st! Even better was the fact I went to Sainsbury's with my DM and she convinced me to try on a pair of size 14 skinny fit jeans and they actually fit me, menstrual bloat and all! They are stretchy jeans and I've got a hell of a long way to go, but 2 months ago my size 18 jeans were getting rather tight and now I'm in size 14s!

I'm also taking part in the Offtober thread and I think I've lost 10lb this month. My original aim was to be under 12st by 2017, which would be 1lb a week between now and then. If I'm very disciplined I might manage a bit more...

Wow bunny that's amazing. Welcome newcomers.

I am very off wagon still, mainly binging at night. I am very bored in the evenings. TV is rubbish. I am busy in the day, but none of it is especially mentally stimulating. I am quite bored during the day too. But I just seem to want to whinge and moan with dissatisfaction, even though I in fact have a very good life. Hmm. The evenings are my danger time.

I did have to buy new jeans this week as nothing fits me anymore (hurrah). But not totally happy, even though this is the best I've looked in years. Need to keep my focus on that. Loving the idea of a photo on the fridge.

Bunnyjo · 30/10/2016 09:18

Ah, starface, thank you. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling unhappy and off the wagon.

I was talking about weight loss with a few friends yesterday and we all concluded that is exceptionally difficult to stay motivated as the nights get longer and Xmas is around the corner. The shops are FULL of festive nibbles, sweets and chocolates, and Baileys liqueurs of an ever increasing variety are on every aisle-end. Then there's the evenings - now it is dark by early evenings and soon it will be dark during late afternoon (I live in the far-north of England) - who wants to run/walk/cycle in the dark?! It's hard enough to do it in the cold, wet and miserable daylight, let alone adding darkness to the mix! It's far easier and more palatable to sit in front of a lovely fire with a glass of something 'warming' and a handful of the aforementioned nibbles. Then there's food - stews, casseroles, huge roasts and stodgy puddings with custard are all far more enticing than something-with-salad... who wants to eat salad when it's colder outside than it is in the fridge?

I fully expect to hit a 'wall' between now and Xmas. I've only been losing weight for 2 months and, at the moment, my weight is still falling steadily. As such, it is easier to stay motivated, but soon I will plateau and I need to work out how I am going to cope with that without resorting to the previous paragraph...

Welcome newcomers!

So my 'mixed' week is at an end... weigh in tonight. I've been firmly on the wagon since Friday lunchtime, and been for 2 runs this week (I've now finished my C25k programme!!!) and a walk this morning out of desperation. Fingers firmly crossed for weigh in!

Lost an inexplicable 5lbs!!! Shock

Which brings my total weight loss to 2stone!! I think I might have just won the thread Wink

I'm going to keep it going now - see if I can lose another stone by Christmas...

scratchypoopants · 31/10/2016 22:47

Wow lottie well done! I told you your willpower was impressive Grin I think you have, actually, just won the thread Star Star Star

Bunnyjo · 01/11/2016 06:51

Wowzers! Well done, Lottie! I weighed myself yesterday for the Offtober thread and I'm now 12st 8.5lb giving me a total weight loss of 27.5lb.

LottieDoubtie · 01/11/2016 07:40

Well done bunny that's great! Well done you- it's harder at your end of the scales too- I've still got a very very long way to go!

MountainDweller · 02/11/2016 00:37

Well done Lottie and Bunny! Gives me hope to read about your success!

I lost a kilo in my first week! Really pleased. Somehow I was skeptical about whether the dieting would work, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a good result.

Starface · 02/11/2016 08:21

Thanks bunny. Yes increasing coldness doesn't help. I've done a bit better this week - i think due to the return to school. I got some jobs done, had some space from the kids (we had an intense few weeks previously with sickness etc) and feel it's all about getting back on track.

Well done Lottie. Onwards and upwards for all of us.

Bunnyjo · 13/11/2016 16:01

Hello all, It's been very quiet here so I thought I would post to see how everyone is getting on.

I've been very busy with my research masters and my youngest came down with dreaded norovirus this week along with 13 of his class AND the class teacher, so it's been a rubbish week or so. Calorie wise, I've stayed around 1200Kcal, but the lack of exercise and activity had me worried. Before yesterday, I hadn't weighed myself for almost 2 weeks and I was fully expecting to see no loss - however, I am pleased to report the scales showed a 3lb weight loss since the start of the month, taking my weight down to 12st 5.5lb. I've now lost a total of 30.5lb!

My original target was to be under 12st by the end of the year, and just another few lbs takes me from the obese BMI category to the overweight one. I am hoping that this is enough to carry me through the next few weeks until my motivation returns.
