Anybody else doing Exante or some other VLCD and wants to buddy up?

I started Exante on Monday so on day 4 now. I'm not in ketosis yet though, which I find odd because normally it kicks in roundabout day 3 (I've done plenty of ketogenic diets before).
I don't have anyone in real life who wouldn't totally condemn me for doing a VLCD so looking for someone on here Grin

Doing ok today I am not as hungry as I thought I might be. Just prepped dinner for the kids and it smells great but not even tempted. Being so full of water that I a slosh when I walk helps. 2 shakes down I will have my last one later when the kids go to bed.

On Sunday I was craving something got so I blended a choc shake with proper coffee and whilst it was a bit strange it was tasty and filling - not really like mocha but warm.

I am def feeling colder and have taken to wearing a gillet indoors. Not looking forwards to winter brrr

Glad you are feeling it today, it really helps when those hunger pains disappear!

Weigh in day tomorrow - got my fingers crossed for a double digit number. Stuck to plan 100% so will feel disappointed if it's not!

Tentatively restarting exante today. Lost about 2 1/2 stone by calorie counting and a bout 6 weeks of exante. Disgusted with myself as I managed to regain a stone since July.
Started today but had a disaster as little one chose a sandwich he didn't like so I ate it. Still on less than 1000 calories though. Starting properly tomorrow.
Weigh 13 stone. Want to be 9 stone long term

I'm starting tomorrow. One of my autistic child had a meltdown today and I sought comfort in food but I have to stop. I feel disgusting.

Have had a rubbish few days. Fell off the wagon spectacularly over the weekend and have just eaten a bag of crisps - what is wrong with me?? And I saw a big fat photo of me in Facebook today that someone took at a party yesterday. You'd think it would spur me on. Will recommit tomorrow Sad

Hi high, welcome. When do you think you will get to goal. I am starting at 14.7st and want to be 10st - so need to lose a similar amount. Are you exercising as well? Next week I plan on starting 30 day shred - God help me!

Oh dear pixi- just get back on it and drink loads of water. I am terrible, one little slip and it takes me at least a week to start again so I feel your pain. I keep reminding myself of this every time I think I will just have one little treat. Luckily feeling in the zone but my mind does keep wandering through the kitchen cupboards.

Hello msqueen, good luck with your start tomorrow, it will be easier by the weekend. I hope the next few days are kind to you.

Thank you. Would like to be 10 stone something by Christmas . Than I guess 9 stone by May.
I am going to try and get back to the gym and swimming but the next few weeks are crazy busy

OMG just weighed in and I am 14.1. That is 12lbs in 10 days or so! I cannot believe how fast it is coming off. I know most of the first part is water weight but it feels so good to be seeing the numbers go down.
No one has noticed I am losing weight yet that will be the next milestone.

Bugger I got far too cocky and had a series of nibbles gah I am very good at sabotaging myself. I am off to bed soon so I don't turn a little slip into a landslide. Tomorrow is going to be tough now.

On the plus side having my hair cut in the morning so that should trim a bit of weight off! Hope everyone is having a better day than me.

Been mulling this all over and I'm thinking, can I do without signing up to a shake replacement, use mfp and keep to 500-800 kcals and just take floradix or something?! What do we think?

Thanks big. I have 2 weeks with nothing on so I am going to get back on it. I can not have one little nibble as that leads to loads of nibbles.

Big that sounds like a good idea. I did try that but I struggled with portion control. Got sick of weighing and measuring and worried about getting enough nutrients. I like exante as I don't have to worry about food. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I'm thinking I'd probably do cereal bar for breakfast and lunch (like the low cal ones) and then grilled chicken salad in the evening, so minimal planning.

I just want it off as fast as possible.

I am scared about being hungry though. This ketosis I hear people talking about... What is this?

Big that sounds good.

Ketosis is when you reduce your carbs to a low enough level you start burning fat for fuel and it reduces your appetite. Ketosis rocks! Check out diet Dr website loads of great info there.

Had a good day today felt like I had loads of energy and luckily didn't feel hungry. Considering doing some HIIT but might just paint my nails instead!

2 stone target reached in 7 weeks so there's hope.

Next target another stone in the next month. Wonder if that's possible. 19.11kgs which would take me down to 79.7kgs. I'll still weigh more than DP who currently loosing weight everyday just because he's not nibbling on any of my usual bits of this and that. And the no drinking and no nibbles.

Well done wally that's an amazing result. We usually low carb and hubby cheats like mad - porridge for breakfast, sweets in car, beer etc and still loses weight and I think a lot of it less cider, crisps and junk that I bring in. Still loses more weight than me. Argh.

Had a cheeky weigh in and 4lb on! I know it's just water or something - off to bin scales

A stone should be easy on a vlcd. Are you exercising as well?

Holy crap 2st in 7 weeks? Incredible! How do you feel in yourself health wise?

I googled ketosis can't decide if they're saying its a good thing or not. On the one hand I'd lose a shit tonne of wait. Or on the other I could die. Shock

Haha you won't die. I have done a vlcd diet for my wedding and low carbed for 18 months and didn't die. Ketosis is a natural state some cultures live on a very low carb diet innuits for example. Check out marks daily apple, diet Dr or the boot camp threads on here. Google prof Taylor and the Newcastle diet - proper rigorous science publicised by Michael Mosley. Atkins is a ketogenic diet as is south beach. Don't get it confused with acidic ketogenisis

Hi qwerty you could easily lose 3st by then. I lost 10lbs in 9 days and will probably lose a stone a month. Wally lost 2st in 7 weeks!

Okay, I think I'm ready to do this!

We are about to do a big move, so I'm gonna research and plan and start Monday after next.

How do I make sure my carbs are low enough to hit ketosis? Will using cereal bars stop that?

Go for it qwerty just drink loads of water. The first few days are hard but it gets easier.

Big- I THINK the bars might be too sugary you could try the was a or Tesco ultra slim bars - I think they are like exante but lots cheaper. Usually to be in ketosis you need to be under 50g of carbs a day but exante seems to work on 60g.
You should check out Michael Mosley blood sugar diet, it's a med fat Mediterranean style diet that works out at 800kcals a day. He has a book and a forum - this is what I tried but couldn't stick to it. I am a bit all or nothing so shakes suit me. Good luck. We are all going to be slim by Xmas
