Anybody else doing Exante or some other VLCD and wants to buddy up?

I started Exante on Monday so on day 4 now. I'm not in ketosis yet though, which I find odd because normally it kicks in roundabout day 3 (I've done plenty of ketogenic diets before).
I don't have anyone in real life who wouldn't totally condemn me for doing a VLCD so looking for someone on here Grin

That's freaking amazing! You must be overjoyed. I do hope when I finally can start up again you girls will help me out, I love LL but if the exante food can do the business at half the price count me in!

Msqueen I could kiss you! I had a peak at that slim and save site, the prices are amazing! Seeing as it was £70 a week with LL, I think I'll be going with them

See, I found that Slim and Save tasted sooo chemically and I couldn't choke down the meals at all. The only things I could stomach were the orange bar, the mint bar and the cookies and cream shake.

Exante tasted salty to me, I didn't find a single product that I liked! Blush

Happy to help Gipsydanger. I did look at Cambridge but the price really put me off. Slim and save also have two Facebook groups aswell.

I think it takes taste buds a while to adjust. I found when I broke off from doing it and have come back that I obviously prefer real food but I'll adjust and I don't find it too bad. Some products weren't for me but I am quite fussy. I love dark chocolate and found their dark chocolate bars actually really nice. Slowed me down putting them in the freezer too. My hairdresser also remarked that my hair seemed thicker. I see her every eight weeks and have very thin hair. So for me that's something slim and save have helped with.

Thank you everyone!
I've never heard of Slim and Save, need to look into it. My friend at work showed me some stuff she got from Boots, 3 days worth of meal replacement stuff which looked lovely but she'd spent £47 on it. I nearly fell off the chair. I could not afford anything in that price range.

Cambridge is in that price range, I think my new consultant is around £46 a week Sad

I've tried Exante, Slim and Save and Saints and Slimmers but I just can't bear their products. Cambridge also do the ready made tetras which are so handy for work. I did have a blender in the office but I only like the packet shakes when blended with loads of ice and it's sooo noisy to make them that way Blush

I met with my consultant last night and she's really nice. She weighed me (ouch), took a photo (hideous) and took my measurements (run for the hills) so we'll see what this week brings. 11 weeks until DH and I go to Paris and he has promised that he'll buy me the trainers I want if I lose 2st before we go Grin

Day one is going well. I managed to hold out until 12pm before I had my first shake and I had another just after 3. I've done 2L of water and a tea so far and I'm feeling okay. I'm meeting a friend for coffee after work but I have a bar and I'll get a herbal tea instead of a latte

I lost 22 lbs on Exante in the Spring. Am taking a small break & back at it in September to lose another stone & a half.
It saved me a lot of money. There is quite a wide variety in the foods, so surprised posters didn't find a few things they liked. My favourites are: veg daal pots, which I have with cauliflower or broccoli; pancakes, which are very nice, quite a few of the bars & cookies are fine & filling; shepherds pie, pizza, Apple & cinnamon porridge, Shakes are ok-ish, some taste salty.
I add loads of veg, salad to evening meal, as calories are not significant & it fills me up.

Moanranger

I have AS and sensory issues so texture is a big thing with me. That rules out all of the savoury meals and porridge, which made me physically gag. So did the pancakes. None of the bars were to my taste (weird, salty aftertaste) and most of the shakes were very chemically. I loved the chocolate mint shake a couple of years ago but they changed the formula (which they confirmed via email, so not my imagination!)

I'm very limited on Cambridge too because of this but I tend to stick to 2x chocolate ready made shakes and an orange or mint or plain chocolate bar every day.

Also, the calories aren't significant but there could be lots of carbs in the veg you're adding, depending on how much and which veg.

I've had a crappy 3 days. Variety of issues and ended up comfort eating again. Back on the diet again tomorrow.
Who knows, maybe I'm destined to be a fatarse forever.

I'm starting Cambridge tomorrow. Please can I join you guys?

Done LL a few years ago but put it all back on and more after DS2. Determined not to allow history to repeat itself.

I feel so fucking fat and frumpy.

I just started slim n save today and am looking for some moral support! Have piled on two stone in the last few months and I need to stop because I feel so ugly, especially in this warm weather. Not looking forward to the fruity breath though 😂

Hello everyone!! The hunger in the first few days is the worst, isn't it? Luckily it passes very soon.
Just reading all the posts, I started thinking how easy it is to pile on weight. I was size 12 after I had my wee boy..3.5 years ago. And then gradually "grew" to size 18. I can't even tell when it happened.

Hi guys, I'm looking at starting a meal replacement diet as I have reached the 15 stone range and feel dreadful, I don't have lots of spare money so looks like Cambridge is out and having looked at the slim and save website I am not convinced, is exante my way forward??

I have been overweight most of my adult life, but it's only now I feel really unhealthy like my body isn't my own anymore so need a right kick up the arse.

Report
Disappearingchocolates · 18/08/2016 09:11

Shyoyster I'm the same. I was a size 12, then suddenly I was a size 18-20...I knew I was growing but I didn't realise quite how much til it was too late Shock

On slim and save they advise you stick to just water but you are allowed some other drinks. Last night (day 1) it was really getting to me I couldn't eat anything so had a coke Zero which you're allowed. I normally hate fizzy drinks and of course its really unhealthy but it was on the allowed list and it filled me up and got me through the night. DP has got me a few cans so think I will have that on standby for times I really need to have something but have had all my shakes/bars and water just wont do it..

Report
Iloveyoujenny · 18/08/2016 10:58

Are you really allowed Coke Zero on Slim n Save? I'm going to stock up to get me through the next couple of days until I get into ketosis in that case!
Day 2 for me today. Frankly I'm thoroughly disappointed that I still look exactly the same 😂
