Anybody else doing Exante or some other VLCD and wants to buddy up?

I started Exante on Monday so on day 4 now. I'm not in ketosis yet though, which I find odd because normally it kicks in roundabout day 3 (I've done plenty of ketogenic diets before).
I don't have anyone in real life who wouldn't totally condemn me for doing a VLCD so looking for someone on here Grin

Don't worry I don't have anything planned full stop! I blame the babies...

I'm just looking at it like 'when I'm ready to debut my lovely thin self I will. Until then you can all wait' Grin

Hi,

I kind of fell off this thread as it got very quiet so was so pleased to see it pop up today! I started 18 weeks ago and have lost 68lbs so far. 17 stone 4 to 12 stone 6. After a kick start on Lighter life I now use MFP to track my food - I'm still aiming for 800 calories and less than 30g of carbs a day. Seems to be working and I hope to be at target (10 stone 3) by April.

Well done on all the losses ladies!

Wallywobbles · 13/01/2017 21:29

I have now lost 26 kgs or so so about 4,5 stone. Put 3kg back on over Christmas and gave myself piles in the process and brought back my IBS too.

Back on for another 12 weeks from Jan 1st. I'd ideally like to lose another 10 kg. It's gone a tad pear shaped this week with some serious hunger creeping in. But I try to keep it protein based when I'm off on one.

Stil not drinking enough.

Moanranger · 14/01/2017 16:45

Hi, can I join? sammy I just started Lighter Life today. Did this in 2008 & was v successful.
For the last 3yrs & 11 mo I have been ensnarled in an awful, awful divorce. On Thurs it was settled, with a Consent Order that says he can never, ever take legal action against me in any way. ( That was his specialty, legal harassment.) So now I have promised myself to focus on losing weight. I am giving myself 3 months & would like to drop 3 stone. In terms of modelling success I reckon what I went thru with divorce can help, it was very difficult & I felt I was never going to get shot of ex, but here I am, free!
I am on day 1 & have had two meals, so far.

FizzBombBathTime · 14/01/2017 19:00

Wow your losses are amazing!

Keep on trucking people

sammyj85 · 14/01/2017 19:11

Very best of luck Moan, it sounds like you are ready to kick-start living free and for you again - so positive and in control. Cant say I was a fan of the food packs but those scale movements keep me motivated. If I slip, I know I will get straight back on. So pleased I started this journey.

You can do it!!

amusedbush · 16/01/2017 06:54

Had a day out with DH yesterday and had a burger from Five Guys, though nothing else all day and I'm actually down on the scales this morning Grin

Bodies are weird!

FizzBombBathTime · 16/01/2017 08:22

Well done amused! What burger did you have?!

amusedbush · 16/01/2017 08:46

A bacon double cheeseburger with pickles, ketchup and mustard, plus a handful of chips Blush

I left about a fifth of the burger though, and I had a diet drink with it! It was bloody good and I regret nothing Grin

My scales said 13st 11.8, official weigh in with my consultant this morning was 13st 13 so at least I'm in the 13's on my weigh in card.

FizzBombBathTime · 16/01/2017 17:05

Well done!!!! (And absolute hero for the burger dude Grin)

sammyj85 · 16/01/2017 19:34

That burger sounds amazing! Sometimes you just need to remind yourself of the yummies we can have when the weight has gone. And even excellent news about the 13s!

amusedbush · 17/01/2017 10:40

I'm 13st 11 exactly this morning so apparently fat bastard burgers = excellent weight loss Grin

What's weird is that having the cheat meal has reset my feelings about this diet. I was getting itchy feet and was looking to move to Weight Watchers or something but my cravings are gone now and I'm feeling more focused. I've got my eye on my three stone sticker and I WILL have it this month!

sammyj85 · 19/01/2017 16:02

Yay, good work amused! Might try the burger trick this weekend! I know what you mean about resetting- eating something off plan makes me realise that it's enjoyable but I just want to get back to it.

Managed to get to 12.3 so have got 5 stone gone. Really can't wait for the scales to say 11 something.

FizzBombBathTime · 19/01/2017 16:05

I ate some chocolate today. Slap my wrist!

Moanranger · 19/01/2017 19:58

Still early days for me, coping so far. Had the telephone meeting that LL offers on Mon night. Helpful, in that they give you these little sayings to keep in your head & some on the conference call had some amazing losses. It is a bit long tho, & I think had too many people in it.
My mantra still is -I can do this! Also, frees up a huge amount of time, and I suddenly have bags of time on my hands which I would normally fill with snacking as a displacement activity.

Tootyfilou · 22/01/2017 14:13

Hi all, please can I join ? Starting tomorrow on Slim and Save. Never done a VLCD before. feeling pretty desperate as weigh over 15st and only 5ft 3.
Hope to use this thread for advise and support, you are quite inspirational!

Feel very determined, and have the added impetuous of meeting an old friend in 10 weeks. Last time I saw them I was young, thin and gorgeous!

Tootyfilou · 24/01/2017 13:02

So yesterday went really well. Shake for breakfast (vanilla), soup for lunch and pasta meal for supper. All tasted ok, better in fact than I was expecting.
I had no problem drinking and drank 3 + litres of water.

By the end of the day however I had a terrible headache and this morning had an orange and mango shake for breakfast that has left me feeling really nauseous. Its the hideous synthetic aftertaste that everything has!

Still I have to keep going and I am determined to make this work, I do not think I can face lunch however, hopefully will feel a bit better later today.
Is this nausea normal? has anyone else felt like this?

Please inspire me.

nickdrakeslovechild · 25/01/2017 10:20

I fell off the diet wagon and now back with a consultant to get me back on track I have 2 stone to lose, the problem is - I really don't like my new consultant, Is that really awful?

She is much, much bigger than I am anyway so her giving me diet advice seemed a bit Hmm and she is really abrupt and you have to buy so many packets a week or she charges you Shock

I am looking on the cambridge website, but there are not too many options near me. If you are doing it online what products are you using?

nickdrakeslovechild · 25/01/2017 10:21

Reading back, I sound like a cow, I am not honestly.

ohbollox22 · 25/01/2017 15:39

nickdrakeslovechild have you looked at Slim and Save? I'm using them at the moment. I can't do a complete meal replacement diet but I am replacing breakfast and lunch with either a shake/bar/meal and then having a normal evening meal. I've lost 7lb in 3 weeks with 1 1/2 stone still to go to get to my first target.
There are lots of varieties and they have all tasted really nice.

FizzBombBathTime · 25/01/2017 16:23

tooty well done on getting started! My headaches went after about day three Smile

I am doing exante, its 3 weeks since I started today and I've lost

1 stone and 5 pounds!

Keep on trucking you lot! We can do this

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 28/01/2017 12:25

reporting for duty, if I may? Was v successful at the weight losing part many years ago with Cambridge, but life intervened and I never managed the reintroducing foods part Sad. Have lost several times with Slim and Save, but never quite got my head round maintenance (combined with a tendency to binge on chocolate, crisps and cake), but I now have a medial condition which I may actually get to the bottom of after three years of investigations getting nowhere next month, and I KNOW that the first thing I'll be told is to lose weight. So this morning I took delivery of a massive box of shakes and bars, and I'm starting again, this time I WILL be successful Grin.

So a starting BMI of 32.9, and I'm not far off my heaviest ever (which was at 9 months pregnant with DC3 Blush).

At least this time round I know which shakes and bars I like (orange and mango is particularly nasty, I agree, but Key Lime Pie and Lemon Yoghurt are amazing).

My targets are - a stone off before my appointment on 21st Feb, and another stone off before we go on holiday at Easter. That takes me down to just overweight, then I need to look at the final stone and a half, and how to manage maintenance.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 01/02/2017 17:01

Day 5 and it's going OK so far - I managed not to buy chocolate when I was out yesterday, and hopefully I can avoid real food on Saturday when I'm out at a thing (when usually i'd have a bacon sandwich for second late breakfast, then southern fired chicken and chips for lunch, and last time we ended up having cake in the afternoon Blush). Interim weigh-in says 7 lbs down, 2 more days of this week to go Smile.

How is everyone else doing?

Catlady1976 · 06/02/2017 09:52

Hi. I am restarting exante today. Lost 3 stone last year but I have put quite alot of it back on. I seem to have so little self control when it comes to food. So best to take it out of the equation. Not weighed myself yet but reckon I am about 13 stone. Long term I want to get down to 9 so about 4 stone to lose.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 06/02/2017 18:53

best of luck Catlady, once you're over the first few days, should be easy to get a chunk off Smile.

Week 1 was 7lbs off, I had a bit of a chocolate wobble one day, otherwise it would have been a bit more, and i know i'm not drinking enough water - it's hard when I'm out and about rather than at home. But, I have a run of "at home" for the rest of this week, so the water should be easier. Loss not noticeable yet, I'll need to get the rest of this first stone off I think before I cna really start to see a difference
