Anybody else doing Exante or some other VLCD and wants to buddy up?

I started Exante on Monday so on day 4 now. I'm not in ketosis yet though, which I find odd because normally it kicks in roundabout day 3 (I've done plenty of ketogenic diets before).
I don't have anyone in real life who wouldn't totally condemn me for doing a VLCD so looking for someone on here Grin

A really good tip for those of you staring a VLCD is t get yourself into ketosis before you start! Do 2-3 days of protein only - you can have as much as you like and not be hungry and then you'll be in ketosis (ie. not hungry) by the time you start having the packs. Works really well for me! Not sure how healthy it is but hey ho :) (Google Dukan attack phase for info).

I've got a few Slim & Save packs left and am trying to decide whether to do that again or do WeightWatchers. I actually really enjoy the S&S meals and the weight goes sooooo quickly but I can't cope without wine at the weekend!

Hi,

Hello to all newbies - hope everyone is getting on well. I had a weigh in this morning on day 9 and am 15lbs down which makes me a very happy lady! I started at 17.3 though so do have a lot to lose. My next challenge is to make the scales say 15 something (about the weight I thought i was Sad )

Have a good day!

Ketosis is basically achieved through consuming less than 70g of carbs per day so cereal bars are unlikely to be a good choice I'm afraid. S&S limits you to one cereal bar a day.

Wallywobbles · 15/09/2016 11:11

Ok so some answers. Feeling good. Sleeping better than in my entire life. I do get tired now.
Always do over 10k steps.
I ride (or do something pony related) or swim and walk the dogs most days.
Skins good. Last period was lighter than usual.
Not getting cold yet.
My IBS is bloody brilliant. That is a life changer.
Sex is a bit different - I can feel more somehow.
No bad breath, zero headaches.
Bit grumpy and short tempered-but that's probably having 4 kids and unrelated to the diet! I'm probably like this all the time! I'm also possibly premenstrual at the mo.

Great losses ladies

Highlandfling80 · 15/09/2016 15:22

I am all or nothing too. Taking real food out of the equation works for me.

princessconsuelabannahammock · 15/09/2016 16:09

Feeling a bit low and bored of it all today. I have a gnarly empty feeling in my tummy and thinking of doing this for another 4-5 weeks seems frankly like torture. I know this diet is mainly a head game but struggling today. Any words of wisdom?

So I caved sort of.. I had 3 slices of cheese - 300 kcals but low carb. Then I made a spicy salty Chinese soup with tonnes of chilli in. I feel much better now, I think the chilli, salt and warmth really helped. Prof Taylor on his 600 kcal diet suggests 250g of veg a day to prevent constipation. I have tried to stay 100% on the diet but this might be a useful standby in desperate times. I figured a small cheat is better than messing up the diet totally.

Mine can too but it was a small one today or else I was going to fall head first into a loaf of bread and jam. Hopefully I can be 100% tom. Don't want to give up now this is my only hope, can't do conventional dieting too slow and I just gain and lose the same 5lbs over and over again!

Bigbongos123 · 15/09/2016 20:24

Wally I am Shock at you managing to exercise on such little kcals but ShockShockShock you find time to have sex with 4 kids Grin I'm exhausted and I basically spend my days high on sugar and with half the amount of kids!

Just eaten more ARRGGHH but all low carb so hopefully won't throw me out of ketosis.

Daily weighing does make me deranged but somehow I can't help myself. This week I have been 14.1 yay and 14.4 boo so a 3 lb fluctuation. If you can wait a month you will see a huge number and can do a happy dance around your scales.

What's the dealio with Diet Coke/Pepsi and sugar free squashes...? Yay or nay?

Princess sounds like you're on a tricky blip, you can do it... Come on 💪

princessconsuelabannahammock · 16/09/2016 15:58

I think the only one allowed is coke zero. The others have a different type of acid in which can knock you out of ketosis. When I did Cambridge they recommended only 1 can max a day. I used to have one as a weekend treat.

Had a strong word with myself and back on it - this is a very unforgiving diet and I know that. I am over myself now after all its only bloody food and I am doing this for my health.

FleshEmoji · 16/09/2016 17:17

Hello, may I join in?

Started Cambridge on Monday, first few days very tough, but got better yesterday as ketosis kicked in.

The weekend's going to be tough though. I suppose other people have lives where fun doesn't revolve around food and drink. The only thing I can think of to do is the cinema, and then we feel guilty about leaving the dog alone again as we went on Wednesday.

Hi,

Not been on for a few days, have been manic busy and so so tired! Hello to everyone who has started in the last few days - I hope the hardest part is getting behind you and ketosis is kicking in!

I can't help but weigh daily and a couple of times this week there's been no movement but then a jump the next day. Really shold wait a week but the only thing that gets me through is seeing those numbers. Currently on day 12 and 16lbs down so seeing that certainly helps!

DH's birthday this week though - must not eat cake! Have a good weekend guys

sammyj85 · 20/09/2016 09:45

It's gone very quiet.... Hope everyone is plodding on OK?
