Once again I am going to embark on a renewed attempt at weight loss. I can't bring myself to weigh at the moment but I'm sure I've got in the region of 6 stone to lose Blush

Does anybody want to join me in an accountability thread? We have 6 months of 2016 left, and this will be the year I weigh considerably less than what I started out at!

1lb lost this week but my scales are teasing me and flicking between 5 and 6lb only to settle on the 6! Not brilliant but still a pound and i had a bad weekend with a family bbq. initial loss was great but slowing down now would like to keep going at 1lb per week.

however I found on MPF that i had updated my weight on 08-06-2016 at 13st 3lb so if I use my actual start weight I have lost 11lbs so far Grin

Start 08-06-20 13st 3lb
1st weigh in - 22-07-2016 13st
2nd weigh in - 04-08-2016 12st 7lb
3rd weigh in - 14-08-2016 - 12st 6lb

How's everyone getting on?

I had a huge gain on Monday after being away for the week but have put myself on a soup and juice Detox for the week to try and pull back the control.

Also drinking green/herbal tea by the gallon which really seems to help with feeling bloated and also keeps me feeling full between meals.

Good luck with you all losing weight!
Fwiw, DH was getting paranoid about his belly so bought an elliptical trainer, he's on it for about an hour a day and in a month has gone from a 34" waist to a 32" - new jeans although he thinks a 30" would be better! For the first week he ate salads and healthy food, now he's back on normal helpings of what we all eat.

Really proud of him.

Hi id like to join also :) i used to do slimming world etc and my fitness pal etc but iv started a new plan called i can make you thin by paul mckenna,,has any of you heard this??i found it brilliant although its been only a week..i can eat what i want no matter what it is with no counting cals etc..

Ok il explain more..i didnt give much detail..so their are four golden rules

  1. Eat when you are hungry

2..eat what you really want
3..eat consiously
4.. Stop when your full

So what you do is you look in your fridge and presses and get rid of food you dont really want to eat that includes sugar free and diet free unless you really like it..
Next... You can eat whatever you like whether its chips burger or cake... Aslong as you follow those 4 rules...
Get to know your body when its truly hungry and wants food,,i myself found out i was eating more so out of boredom and craving than actually enjoying what was going in..and iv tried numerous diets were i was miserable and felt guilty for havin any chocolate even on a cheat day and the diets made me focus on food way to much and the more i wanted to eat of the food forbidden to me the more i ate and craved it..it was absolute agony feeling guilty and goin to bed thinkn oh i can start tomoro and knew in my heart id fail again

Now iv been doin this 6 days iv listened to my body..iv sat down and consiously ate and chewed one mouthful 20 times and its best to put knife an fork down after each mouthfull,, and i noticed i was eatin 1/3 or what i would have normally eating..if an hour or 2 passed and i felt peckish id drink water and if after 20 mins i felt the same i would eat the same way again no matter wat it was aslong as i stopped wen i had enough and not stuffed

There is also a craving technique in the book were you tap certain places in your body to distract you and take your mind of something sugary you wanted..this is not a diet as you will eventually get used to eating healthier choices but dont have the guilt if you eat chocolate...

If your peckish or in a situation wer food is everywhere,, ask yourself... Am i hungry...do i really want to eat this...if any of you would like to do this with me it would be brilliant and i hope you will as u will never let food control you the way it controlled me.. Now you can be in control and not be held bk by the guilt xxx

5lb off!!

Finally things are going in the right direction! And would possibly have been more if it weren't for the birthday meal and christening this weekend. Feel like this was the boost that I needed and I have already mapped out this week's meals to keep me on track! Grin Grin Grin

I'd like to join please. Have just had a significant birthday and really feel it's now or never. I need to turn my life around.

Am on day 3 of a health kick after just joining a rather posh gym.

Met with one of the resident PTs yesterday and she's given me a programme. We also had a bit of a chat about food but for now she's told me to concentrate on getting into the exercise habit. However I did buy a Joe Wicks book a few weeks ago so and am enjoying finding healthy recipe ideas on Pinterest. I do need to change my food habits, am a total carb queen and chocoholic.

I had a Boditrax scan yesterday. I weigh 87kg. It tells you all your fat percentage, muscle percentage, etc so I can see what changes (hopefully) happen.

Gym is only 3 min drive away so no excuses!

So yesterday I did a spin class and had a PT session. Today I did a body conditionng class and then my set programme.

Programme consists of a load of weights and then 30 mins of cardio.

Hi Rochellen. Food wise I think I went ok''ish today.

Belvita breakfast biscuits for lunch which I know isn't great.
Left over macaroni cheese for lunch which is too carry.
But then had creamy spinach chicken with butternut squash noodles for dinner which I think was healthy.

Had a banana and a pear for snacks. So no chocolate!

I think I will find the healthy eating harder than the exercise! I need to not get a mind set of "ive had two hours in the gym so I can stuff myself" which is what ive done before.

If you've only got just over a stone to go you should be able to do that. Have you got a target date?

That sounds like very healthy choices although a bit of chocolate even a square will get your cravings away and you wont be thinkn of it..i wrote in a post before you did about diets etc..was doin slimming world etc but found i was constantly thinkn of food and what i could and couldnt have so i started a program by chance wen i bought a book in a charity shop called i can make you thin in 90 days by paul mckenna..so im on it a week but only weighed myself on thursday so il have to wait till thirsfay morning to weigh again to see if it made a difference..its very simple i wait till im slightly hungry-hungry and eat whatever i want, counting no calories etc and it doesnt hav to be fat free either,, and eat slow and chew 20 times on eat mouthful and stop when i feel iv had enough but not stuffed..same goes for cake if your hungry eat it..but slowly...for the first time in four yrs this week of doing this has stopped food controlling me..i used to wake up an think wat will i eat and how many calories i can have,,and now noticed i used to eat when i wasnt even hungry just if i was stressed or upset and boredom.. No i havent even set a goal but my birthday is in four weeks my 30th so i would be delighted to get down to 10.7 or lower and carry on after although even if it came off slowly id still be happy coz it would be a loss..have you set a time??

I'd just been reading your earlier post about eating slowing and when hungry and will take it on board. I'm guilty of eating and watching TV, etc too much.

I haven't set myself time goals. At the minute I have a mini goal of wanting to get my bmi to 30.

I'm going to book another PT session for 4 weeks time and I know she will weigh me there so that is going to give me the incentive not to slack.

Dont worry i done the same,,is so hard not too i find when my bf has it in the house,,iv weighed my self early couldnt resist..it says iv lost 2lbs in 5 days an i havent been exercising yet as i pulled my back out 3 weeks ago..so il weigh again on thursday morning an will know what iv lost in a week and know its working..

Thats a good target to set!! And something to push you with your appointment..Well you could def lose a few lbs in 4 weeks:) how do u find spinning classes??

Well I wore padded shorts but blimey my arse/fanny still hurt. I'm quite used to cycling so found the class ok. But the saddles aren't as good as on my road bike.
