Once again I am going to embark on a renewed attempt at weight loss. I can't bring myself to weigh at the moment but I'm sure I've got in the region of 6 stone to lose Blush

Does anybody want to join me in an accountability thread? We have 6 months of 2016 left, and this will be the year I weigh considerably less than what I started out at!

Maintained this week, but with the amount of eating out and entertaining this week, pleased with that.
When I started 17 weeks ago, would have been pleased with 2 stones by Xmas, but have lost 2 stone 12 lbs.
Onwards to loose the final 30lbs next year Smile
Good luck everybody

2lbs this week, so 40lbs in total down, 30 to go!
Thought it may had been less than 2 as weighed less than 12 hours after a 3 course Xmas meal.
If I can loose 2lbs this week, it will be 3 stone in total, and 3lbs means the weight starts with a 10

2.5lbs down, 38lbs in total. BMI down to overweight, 29.8 started at 38. 32lbs to go

Hello, as you can tell by my name I am not a mum but a dad. Sorry if I'm not allowed here lol. So my dw suggested I join mum's net, as I want to lose weight and could really do with some support and help. I'm not fat but a bit podgy. But at 6ft 5 I guess I pull it off well. I'm looking at doing the 30 day shred and was wondering if any of you ladies had tried it and what were ur results if u don't mind me asking

Aurorie it's so funny you've typed that as I fear the same fate is waiting for me this week and I've been eating no differently than previous weeks so I just don't understand! I've read up quite a bit about the myth that is weight plateaus, people are usually not following their diet strictly which is why they don't lose the weight. It is true that as you eat less your body adjusts by lowering your metabolism so weight loss may slow down but this only happens after months or dieting. Also your body doesn't go into starvation mode, it is a simple fact that if you eat less calories than your body expends you will lose weight. Perhaps water retention had affected you this week (hormones play a huge role in this) and if you stick with the same eating plan, the effects will show up on the scale next week. Sometimes it takes your body a few days to 'catch up' and for the results to show on the scales... I'm hoping this is the case for me but we will see come official weigh in Monday! Good luck Smile

0.5lbs down this week. Don't understand it as been 1000 calories down a day. Would understand if close to healthy bmi but hovering on the obese/overweight border

Been out to an Indian restaurant for my Dad's birthday, but no starter or dessert. Had tandoori meat, salad, few tablespoons of rice and a 1/5th of a plain naan. Had about 500 calories apart from that all day. I'm not banning eating out but making sensible choices (I hope). Bumped into a friend there who was getting a takeaway who said she'd hardly recognised me due to weight loss Smile

Well done you two, over 5lbs is awesome Glitter. What is your secret?! Aurorie, you may feel disappointed but go hold one pound of sugar and feel how heavy that actually is! And the number on the scales is heading down which equals progress. My WI isn't until Monday so will let you know but I'm still motivated and sticking religiously to 1200 cals so hoping for a few lbs loss again... Do any of you have cheat days/meals? I haven't as worry they would lead me down the wrong path again.

Only 1lb down this week, so exactly 2.5 stone in 13 weeks. Bit disappointed as good with calories and steps up this week. But still a loss. Aiming for another half stone by Christmas Eve (4 weeks!!)

Hi all, weigh in this morning and am down another 4lbs! That is a grand total of 14lbs in three weeks! Am now 12 6lbs. I'm thrilled as have been so strict keeping myself to 1200 and no bread, potatoes, pasta, pizza! I can't wait to get into the 11 stone something category! Hopefully by Xmas.

Glitter congrats on the wedding, and don't worry that you've started too late, you've started and kept to it which is the main thing!

Aurorie it must feel amazing to get rid of clothes that are now too big. Mine all still fit (kind of thought I would have gone down a size) but they feel much looser. Can't wait to go shopping once I've reached my target (it's my treat to myself a new wardrobe when I reach 11 stones).

Hi Glitter
This week, 1lb would make it half way
3lbs would make me ecstatic (but don't think another 3lb week is likely) as I would then be overweight and not obese.
How are you doing with clothes? I filled 2 bin bags yesterday with stuff that's far too big

Hello Darkest, Yes it's my wedding, feels to be approaching very quickly and kicking myself for leaving it so late to get this weight off but it is keeping me on track!

Also weigh in for me tomorrow and I am desperately hoping to have moved down into the next stone bracket!!

What are you both hoping for this weekind?

Report
DarkestBeforeDawn · 20/11/2016 17:30

Hi Glitter, hope everything is getting back on track for you now and you're well. Weigh in tomorrow and trying to be super virtuous today just to nudge those scales even more in my favour! #wishfulthinking

Is it your upcoming wedding glitter? That must be a great motivation.

Hello all, Apologies for my absence recently had a tough few weeks and struggled to keep my head above water.

In terms of weightloss things are going well although not perhaps in the healthiest of ways. Now 24lb off since starting and hoping that I can get back on track in a positive way with only 14 weeks to the wedding I would love another stone at least!

Well Done to you both with your losses, I hope you don't mind me rejoining you!

Hi Dawn, wow 4 in 4 years you must have your hands full.
It's averaging 2 or 3lbs most weeks for me. I don't think loosing 4-5lbs every week is sustainable unless you've got masses to loose. I'm just under half way, want to get to 9 stone, but expecting this to take 4-5 months
I do step on to the scales outside of Saturday weigh ins, but only log Saturdays weight.

Oh and 34lbs is so impressive!! Well done. I would love to see similar results! My goal weight is 11 stones.

Thanks for replying aurorie. It's funny isn't it, I have been overweight (actually my bmi was obese) for a few years now, having four children in four years has made sure of it, but now I feel ready to make a permanent change and get my body back! A big part of that is wanting to feel like more than just a mummy!

So you lost about 2lbs a week after the first two weeks? Are the first two weeks typically 'big' weight loss weeks then? Should I expect more like 2 lbs this week ? I don't want to feel disappointed when I step on the scales on Monday! Do you manage to hold off weighing yourself only once a week?! It's hard to resist!

Am looking forward to having this thread as something to be accountable for.
