Once again I am going to embark on a renewed attempt at weight loss. I can't bring myself to weigh at the moment but I'm sure I've got in the region of 6 stone to lose Blush

Does anybody want to join me in an accountability thread? We have 6 months of 2016 left, and this will be the year I weigh considerably less than what I started out at!

Well done glitter and banana on your loses and welcome Candy!

I had a fall on my bike last week and it has set me back, I did lose 2lbs on weigh in though!

I now need to get back on the bike (literally and metaphorically) and not let this set back last week's and months like it has in the past.

Thanks glitter, a car pulled out on me and it was a choice between getting hit or breaking sharply and getting out of the way (unfortunately that meant falling to the ground!). I'm still a bit sore but recovering and I'm trying to not let it set me back.

My main problem is I'm really all or nothing, so when I'm cycling, calorie counting and making good choices it all comes together so well. But if any one thing isn't in place it falls apart. It's like oh I can't cycle today, I'll just have one glass of coke as a treat, oh I've messed up my day I may as well get a take away, well I had a takeaway last night another can't hurt... How the hell do I break this cycle?!

Welcome aboard emptynest, happy to have you!

The more the merrier emptynest

I know exactly what you mean thumbsup I find it really hard to stay on track once one thing starts to slip and then I end up saying sod it I'll start again on Monday! Trying to tackle 1 day at a time at the moment and hoping that if I see a good result next week it will motivate me to keep going!

Anyone else feel like they are thinking about food more than ever?!

After being super strict with my calorie counting all week I had relatives visiting this evening so went to my parents for a meal and I now feel awful! I was fine for the meal and even weighed my desert so I didn't go over my calories but then the cheese and crackers came out and any self-control disappeared!

Now in bed feeling bloated and disappointed in myself Blush

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to resist in future?

Day 5, Ive given up drinking the nasty slim fast milkshakes. Im going to have a 200cal breakfast and lunch instead.

Glitter no suggestions for the future but I would say just draw a line under it now the best you can and get back on track straight away. One meal won't undo all the other healthy choices you have made!

Candy you lasted long than I would have on those things! Are you using myfitnesspal at all? It's great for tracking calories.

Thanks thumbsup

I am feeling less annoyed with myself today and it did motivate me to push myself harder at the gym this morning.

Think I just need to be bolder with saying no! Or plan better in advance!

Well done Candy! What plan have you been following? Would be good to get some tips from you!

If you are still prepared to continue it does not count as a fail thumbsup Weightloss is a difficult journey otherwise we wouldn't be looking for support from others! What plan have you followed this week? Is there anything that we can do to help for next week?

Am very late but can I join?
Successfully lost 3 stone last year after having gestational diabetes, then had a super stressful 6 months (2 house moves with 2 under 3). Am a comfort eater (and drinker Blush) and have put it all back on. And then some.
Am planning a hopefully realistic calorie intake of about 1400-1500 per day with MFP, aiming to lose 1-2 lb per week.
Currently 14st 6 at 5"6. Aiming to be 10st10. Interim goal- 12st by my birthday in November.

Aiming for 2lb at least this week!

I'll be starting next week.

Well done Candy, I also had a week McD moment and its made worse by it being up the road. Tried to convince myself that the walk up would negate the calories, spent 20 mins on MFP trying to make calories work and find out what was lowest things in fat.... in the end I ate pasta instead.
Tomorrow we have a family BBQ, dreading it as I cant normally get through these things without lots of carby beige food and a few Buds!
How has everyone else done this week?

GlitterandSequins · 13/08/2016 10:29

I'm struggling with suitable snacks at the moment, I seem to be planning and cooking nice healthy low calorie meals and then snacking on crisps or biscuits which defeats the object entirely (although I am staying within my calorie allowance so I guess it shouldn't matter too much?!)

I think I'm going to make drinking more water and finding better snacks my priority for next week.

How about everyone else?

Hi all, apologies for my absence it's been a really busy week!

Welcome to Mrsboathook, soon2b and happyvalley!

I have recovered from my crappy week and lost 3lbs this week, being fully back on the bike has helped, I cycled 40 miles this week (which is excellent for me!).

This week I'll be aiming to do the same, I've found planning out everything I'm going to eat in the morning to be helpful as it doesn't leave much room for temptation. It also allows me to plan one treat which I look forward to as opposed to caving on something that isn't really worth the calories, like biscuits at work.
