Lose half a stone in June? Anyone want to join me?

I need to lose weight. I have a BMI of 24.5 so only just in normal range. I would like to shift a stone as I'm far too flabby at my current weight.
Anyway, I'm starting off by aiming for half a stone weight loss during June, through increased activity (Fitbit at the ready!) and sensible eating.
Anyone want to join me?

Think I'm back on track after the birthday blip. At least I've managed not to put anything back on. Working this weekend has probably helped with that.

Walked the last 4 miles home rather than getting the bus all the way. Might go out again for a shorter walk in a bit. 10,000 steps have definitely been achieved today.

Well done on all the loses.

MsColouring · 06/06/2016 06:40

1lb off this morning!

MegBusset · 06/06/2016 07:28

I'm 9st 9lb this morning (same as Saturday, to be expected with it being TOTM)

Target 9st 4lb

Five pounds to go!

Chillipowderpuff · 06/06/2016 07:46

I know I'm late to this thread but I'd love to join. I'm 10s13 and would like to lose as much as I can before the end of June, at least 5 pounds. I'm just about to do Shred for the first time! I'm going shopping today so will buy lots of fruit and drinks for the fridge.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 06/06/2016 09:31

Welcome Chilli.

Finally made it swimming. 25 lengths done.

Now trying to resist the urge to eat my own body weight in food. Forgot swimming always makes me hungry.

RedMapleLeaf · 06/06/2016 09:53

Hello to new losers and well done to the those like me who are still going strong.

I'm weighing-in tomorrow as I started last Tuesday. Had a relaxed weekend, but didn't go silly at all. Lots of cakes and seconds refused. Feeling very motivated today (despite the Monday Work Blues).

Emma7793pink · 06/06/2016 10:13

Can I join in too please started yesterday :) my bmi is 25.5 but I really don't hold my weight well. Some people look gorgous at whatever weight, I keep skinny legs no matter what and just get a moon face and muffin top Confused my little girls birthday is on the 5th of July and I would really like to lose some weight so that I'm not worrying about my double chin in the pics!
Yesterday I
Managed to eat 1000 cals and drank around 3l of water also went for a 5k run which burned 370kals so im hoping to see some quick results if I can keep up
Like this 😊 x

HairyMaclary · 06/06/2016 18:24

Feeling tempted today, have fallen out of he 'zone' but not off the wagon!
Ate well, no exercise still due to post op recovery but was only down 0.1 kg this morning. Hoping for more tomorrow!
Yoghurt with nuts/seeds/raisins
Green salad with half an avocado some smoked salmon and lemon juice
Mini road in the hole with braised cabbage

Snacks - more nits/ seeds
Two falafel with 1 tbsp hummus

Got to keep my head in the right place though, anyone got any ideas for helping with that?

Cocolepew · 06/06/2016 19:16

I've lost 3 lbs 😇😁!
I've done sod all exercise so I need to give myself a shake and start walking more.

bugsyburge · 06/06/2016 19:23

I haven't weighed in since last Friday but will weigh in the morning. Today was a fast day so I'm hoping to be under 10.4 despite a Saturday spent boozing. Thankfully I avoided late night chips or hangover crap yday so hoping the scales won't be too harsh to me Confused

twobambinos · 06/06/2016 19:31

Well done Coco that is a super loss.
Today went OK. Calories around 1300 but not the healthiest of food. Managed a 6km walk as well so I'm happy. Currently trying to finish my 2l plus of water sooooo boring

MsColouring · 06/06/2016 20:20

Hairy - bit concerned about your snack of nits!

Re keeping head in the right place- I'm not sure how I got myself in the zone but I find tracking my food on mfp helps as I always feel proud of myself when I stay within my calories - especially if I hit some nutrition goals too. Looking at a slice of cake and realising that will be the same amount of calories as a meal. Chewing gum helps stave off snacking as does drinking tea (with semi-skimmed milk). Reminding myself how far I've come helps keep me on track. Also, planning interesting meals that keep me within my calories - I think I'm eating a more exciting diet now than when I wasn't calorie counting.

Cocolepew · 06/06/2016 20:28

Thanks twobambinos Smile

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 06/06/2016 20:47

I think nits are fairly low calorie, so should be OK for snacking. Grin

Hasn't been a bad day today. About 1300 calories, 25 lengths swum and no snacking, just meals.

Week 1 of 52 small changes was to drink more water, which I think I might have failed a bit on, but still time to fix that today.

As the sun is shining and it's still light, might go out for a quick walk before setlling down in front of the TV.

MegBusset · 06/06/2016 23:45

Today has been a bit of a curate's egg. It started well (oatibix for breakfast, veg soup for lunch)and I've done 2hrs walking but DH tempted me to drink wine with dinner (pesto pasta) which was inevitably followed by a load of chocolate Hmm

I didn't even want a drink, it's just so hard to be the party pooper! Anyone else struggle with this?

Anyway back on track tomorrow and hopefully not too much damage done!

bugsyburge · 07/06/2016 08:27

Weighed in this morning at 10.4.8...was hoping for a touch more but next FD should drop the number down a bit (here's hoping!!!)

MegBusset · 07/06/2016 09:06

Weighed in at 9st 8.25lb this morning, bizarrely down after last night's shenanigans! We'll see if it sticks!

RainbowFlower24 · 07/06/2016 09:27

Morning all. Motivation is high at the moment as I completed a fitness blender 5 day challenge yesterday. It was manageable so I've signed up for an eight week program with them. The end of it will coincide with the startt of our summer holidays so I'm hoping for good results. I'm down 1-2lbs this morning on last week. I'm going to buy some heavier dumbbell weights as my little 1kg ones are probably not challenging enough and a proper digital scale today.

Have a great week everyone.

RedMapleLeaf · 07/06/2016 09:59

2lb lost in week one. A bit disappointing as midweek I'd lost a lot more. Nevermind, onwards and upwards for week two.

(Motivation low today).

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 07/06/2016 10:16

Another swim managed. Bit slower today though and more resting between sets of lengths. Bloody hell my legs ache though. In a good way though, rather than an 'I've injured myself way'.

Chillipowderpuff · 07/06/2016 12:49

RedMapleLeaf well done on your 2 pound loss. I'd be really pleased with that and hopefully you'll lose another 2 for next week too.

I'm really on the right frame of mind now and keep thinking of my bikini I've got to wear in August. Tonight my DC's and DH are having southern fried chicken so I'm going to eat something different before they eat so I'm not tempted to snack on the left overs.

propergood · 07/06/2016 14:14

Hey everyone. I guess I'm a week late! I really need some pushing to eat healthier and less. I have let my body do its own thing and when I look back at old photos I can see such a marked difference, especially in my legs!
Snacking has been my downfall. Yesterday I did well and just had 3 normal meals, no snacks!
Right now I'm having chopped kiwi and banana for breakfast (different time zone!)
I think I will have an egg salad for lunch.
And dinner? Not sure yet! So I will be reading up this thread for inspiration.

Cocolepew · 07/06/2016 17:18

Well done on all the weightlosses, a pound or two is great!

Was not good today. I went on a day out with my class and knew we were going to Burker King. I had a small bowl of cornflakes, with stevia.
In BK I had four chicken strips with fries and a diet coke.
Have some raspberries and blackberries to eat later

MegBusset · 07/06/2016 21:53

Good day today:

Soya porridge
Bean salad
An apple
Quorn sausage casserole
No booze or chocolate

Chillipowderpuff · 08/06/2016 08:06

Well done Meg.

My day started so well yesterday, but ended badly and I ate all the DCs leftovers and snacked too!Sad

Today has to be a good day. I'm hot so I'm wearing just underwear (!) and trainers and just off downstairs to do 30 day shred.

I'll post tomorrow and hopefully it'll have been a good day.
