Lose half a stone in June? Anyone want to join me?

I need to lose weight. I have a BMI of 24.5 so only just in normal range. I would like to shift a stone as I'm far too flabby at my current weight.
Anyway, I'm starting off by aiming for half a stone weight loss during June, through increased activity (Fitbit at the ready!) and sensible eating.
Anyone want to join me?

Today went well less than 1000 calories and I also did a short run and pilates on top of it and 3 l of water because it's sweltering at the moment.
I really hope I lose something this week.

Zazu44 · 02/06/2016 21:46

A friend of mine lost lots of weight on celebrity slim has anyone tried it? I know it's not ideal but thinking it may be good as a kick start Confused

IgglePiggleIsDead · 02/06/2016 22:03

Under 900 cals again today eating the same as yesterday in preparation for a heavy weekend.
Another day of the shred done.
Weigh day tomorrow, hoping for a pound off.

SanityAssassin · 02/06/2016 23:14

Am I too late to the party?? I could do with losing a stone nut a half would be great and any motivation welcome.
I am about 9St 4 but am a shorty so although in "normal" BMI I feel a bit chunky and I carry it all on my chest which looks awful.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 03/06/2016 00:40

Zazu, I've downloaded GH Ultimate Weight Loss.

It's basically a half hour relaxation recording trying to get you to focus us on your weight loss goals.

Can't hurt if I'm tackling things on a conscious and subconscious level!

Zazu44 · 03/06/2016 07:24

Sissyspacek im going to give this a try seems to have fantastic reviews and will hopefully help with how I look at food and out of control eating sometimes.

I've got the virtual gastric band app too :-) haven't actually listened yet but I could really do with an attitude change to food esp snacking and emotional eating.
Good news today though :-) I weigh in on a Friday and I'm 147.4lb - 3.8lb off since last Friday! Yeah! Just need to keep it off and keep going....I have a history of 1 week off 1 week on so I'm not getting too excited till its 2 weeks in a row at least. Happy Friday everyone xx

MegBusset · 03/06/2016 07:33

Today's weight : 9st 10lb
Target: 9st 4lb

Yes, I am a daily weigher. I know I shouldn't but can't stop myself!

bugsyburge · 03/06/2016 08:23

Also a daily weigher.
Yesterday: 10.5
Today 10.3.8

Yesterday was a fast day though so I'd expect the weekend to level it out until another fast day on Monday.
Downwards is good though!!

Got a big drinking session planned tomorrow that has been arranged for months so I must make sure I don't have a complete blow out!!

HairyMaclary · 03/06/2016 08:50

63.6kg today Whoo hoo! A kg in two days! I'm sure it's all water etc but it does help with the motivation.

I've got my day planned out food wise so should be fine, hope so...

twobambinos · 03/06/2016 08:58

I thought I had posted too but apparently not.
Down to 9St 7 today wahoo. It is great motivation indeed. Well done to all the losers. Grinkeep up the good work everyone

Saymwa · 03/06/2016 09:02

Hi there,
Good reading everyone's posts - sharing similar situations.
Glad to know I'm not the only one fending off all the sweets and crsips.

At the beginning of the week I weighed in at 67 kg. Now I'm 66.1kg. So I 've almost lost a kilo of the 3 I'm planning to lose by June.
I'm aiming for 64kg by the end of June.

I hardly dare go for more because, over the years, I've specialized in not reaching my weight goals. So I need to watch how I go and to take care.

This week I had 2 fast days and was satisfied with myself at the end of the day because I didn't sabotage them.

This next part is where I habitually go backwards.
Over the weekend I relax and often eat high calorie food and too much of it.

This weekend I am making a contract with myself to eat reasonable siized portions.

If I can do that between today and Monday I'll should be on track for good results next week too.

Can anyone keep me company on the having a reasonable weekend score ?

Smile
jojotunny · 03/06/2016 11:35

I'm only 10 stone and 5'2 not big but doing a diet with my other half as he is 18 stone and needs to loose 4 stone or so to get the lung transplant he desperately needs so we will both be in Smile

jojotunny · 03/06/2016 11:37

My other half has just started on fat binders with a low cal diet has lost a stone so far in 1month

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 03/06/2016 12:02

Cornflakes for breakfast after 30 day shred day 2.

Still need to get some decent electronic scales.

RedMapleLeaf · 03/06/2016 13:10

After making very good choices at last night's buffet, I'm working from home today and struggling a bit. By 11 O'Clock I'd eaten my dinner. I've decided to opt for a Diet Coke or two, and managed to buy them and only them at the shops. ( Does sweetener help or hinder sugar-withdrawal?).

Ok, got to stay strong until tea time now and not comfort eat.

jojotunny · 03/06/2016 13:38

Defoe gets rid of my sweet craving

almostthirty · 03/06/2016 15:31

The app is great, you listen to it when you're in bed and check in a couple.of times a day. It also teaches you ways of not relying on food as an emotional crutch.

I think it must be working as there was loads of cake and chocolate etc in the staff room at work yesterday for us to help ourselves to, but I didn't touch any of it! I have no will power and would usually be the first to dig in, but I just didn't fancy any if it!

RedMapleLeaf · 03/06/2016 16:35

Ok, been a bit of an emotional day and the habit of comfort eating threatened to creep in. Instead of eating sugary crap I have drunk both Diet Cokes, done a bit of cupboard-tidying (to keep my hands busier than if I was sat at the laptop) and eventually had a bag of frazzles (my first bit of junk food since Tuesday). Now I just have to last two more hours and I'm having a slim version of a Jamie Oliver veggie chilli (the man puts 1l of olive oil in everything).

Can anyone recommend a decent set of scales? Not too pricey.

RedMapleLeaf · 03/06/2016 18:12

I noticed that they had some kitchen scales in Lidl today. Or did you mean bathroom scales?

RedMapleLeaf · 03/06/2016 18:16

3rd June

Sugary crap consumed - none. Major achievement
Calories eaten - 1301.
Exercise - none.

Good day, pleased with myself but motivation middling. Gym tomorrow.

gillyginger · 03/06/2016 18:18

Personally would stay of the diet coke, just don't think it is good for you diet or not , I would recommend ice tea , pukka has a fantastic range just make some up, chill and loads of ice ,
I usually find I go a bit lax over the weekend so this one I have to be good , I have a fridge full of salad , we are having a hot spell here so not inclined to eat much at one go , but I do feel like picking a lot !!!

Thebigredcar · 03/06/2016 18:19

I'm finding this so hard at the moment gone over today by about 100 cals so not loads though and eaten very healthily. Not sure if I just don't care enough at the moment? I definitely care about not putting on more weight and like eating healthily but don't seem to have much motivation to lose Confused.

I'll keep going though and hopefully this way I may at least lose weight slowly and make changes that are going stick
