Lose half a stone in June? Anyone want to join me?

I need to lose weight. I have a BMI of 24.5 so only just in normal range. I would like to shift a stone as I'm far too flabby at my current weight.
Anyway, I'm starting off by aiming for half a stone weight loss during June, through increased activity (Fitbit at the ready!) and sensible eating.
Anyone want to join me?

Just got a £10 set of bathroom scales from Sainsbury's. Will let you know if they're any good when I weigh myself in the morning!

MegBusset · 03/06/2016 19:59

Day two for me, another good one :

Soya porridge and blueberries
Veg soup and ryvita
Banana
Salmon with herb and bean salad

Successfully resisted DH luring me towards a Friday night glass of wine. Off to our caravan tomorrow so will probably be a bit more relaxed but hopefully still within my allowance.

HairyMaclary · 03/06/2016 21:10

Did v well today until my sister in law bought me a delicious, huge, lamington after a minor operation I had today. I managed to only eat half, but actually I wasn't hungry but felt compelled to eat it as it was there! Think I'm still under 1400 though but hard to measure the calories in the cake!

bugsyburge · 03/06/2016 21:31

Fairly naff day here, under calories I reckon but totally not nutritious!

Handful of Cheerios
1.5 seeded toast with PB and half banana
Jacket potato and tuna mayo
Icing and raisins from a slice of carrot cake ( thanks toddler Envy)
Wholemeal pitta with hummus
2 slices of garlic bread

Trying to drink gallons of green tea because I'm so bloated from all the carbs Shock

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 03/06/2016 22:01

I was doing really well today. Had worked out full meal plan but have family round and drinking red wine.

Therefore evening get meal is now a liquid one.

Still within calories but possibly not the most nutritious although grapes are fruit.

notagiraffe · 03/06/2016 22:30

Please can I join you? Really need to sort myself out. 1.5 stone overweight. BMI of 26.4.

Today had: 50g sugar free nut muesli, 30g oat flakes, semi skimmed milk, apple, 2 mugs coffee with milk
4 cups herbal tea
1 slice polenta orange cake
100g spaghetti with homemade veg and tomato sauce
lettuce, cucumber, chicory
2 mugs of tea.
MFP says this is 1500 cals today.

Will need to exercise a lot more and eat a bit less to reach the target!

MsColouring · 03/06/2016 23:29

Beans on toast for breakfast, cup a soup and a couple of crackers for lunch, snack of a banana, pizza and salad for tea. Came in at just below 1200 calories - bit low on protein. Managed an hour run plus a walk with dh this eve as he is building up his exercise slowly.

Bin85 · 04/06/2016 10:54

Couple of pounds down after week of cutting down a bit
Still need to lose at least a stone sadly

Cocolepew · 04/06/2016 12:17

Yes bathroom scales. Thanks Sissy.
Went out last night and had a pudding but hadnt eaten too much during the day so decided it was ok Grin
I was driving so staying off the booze .

MsColouring · 04/06/2016 13:48

Bin - two pounds down is great progress!

Still waiting for the scales to move this month but I know I've lost lots before now and eating is still under control so not worrying. Round a friend's for drinks and pizza tonight so know I will be over my calories - the challenge will be to make sure I'm not too far over. Any ideas what to drink (alcohol) which isn't desperately high in calories.

notagiraffe · 04/06/2016 13:57

Mscolouring Gin and slimline tonic or dry white wine spritzer, heavy on the soda water are safe bets. Steer clear of cocktails!

MsColouring · 04/06/2016 14:19

Thank you notagirraffe

Cocolepew · 04/06/2016 16:07

I got scales in Home Bargains for £4.99, they are actually George at Adda ones and should be a tenner.

I think I'm in the zone, I'm not looking for chocolate etc. So hopefully might start to lose. I'd love to lose 2lbs!

MsColouring · 04/06/2016 17:42

Gotta love Home Bargains! Just picked up some crispbread things in there for 69p which only have 30cals each in. And sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds for 70p a bag.

Sounds like you are in the zone Cocolepew - cake just isn't appealing to me at the moment!

Cocolepew · 04/06/2016 18:04

Unfortunately these scales are saying Im much heavier than the olds ones.
Im way fatty than I thought they are obviously faulty

MsColouring · 04/06/2016 18:54

Obviously! But at least you can track your progress.

Cocolepew · 04/06/2016 19:15

Suppose

HairyMaclary · 05/06/2016 07:09

Gah! 63.2 today, up 0.1 from yesterday. Can't say I'm surprised due to the enormous pasty I had for lunch and no activity due to recuperating from a small op on Friday. Hope to get a family cycle in today and sensible food choices.

Well done everyone with all your losses!

RedMapleLeaf · 05/06/2016 07:51

Relaxed the diet a bit yesterday. Felt great, and today I feel motivated to be back on the wagon. Best thing is only half a pound on this morning.

twobambinos · 05/06/2016 09:55

Yesterday wasn't great had two glasses of wine and a few bits of baguette with butter. Going for a long run this morning and hopefully will be good today

gillyginger · 05/06/2016 11:58

Have gone just below the 11st markSmile, this is when though I get a bit lax and think I am doing ok and start to pick a little more!! Just had late breakfast low cal bread toast and marmite, having chicken curry tonight so must not go over board on rice ( does curry and salad work!!)
Drink water is my mantra for today,

MsColouring · 05/06/2016 13:03

Gillyginger, I had that problem last time I lost weight - hit 11st, felt more comfortable and then kind of gave up and slowly put the weight back on. Determined not to do that this time.

Plenty of non-scale victories: C25K completed - started on the 10K trainer, friends commenting on how much I've lost weight, size 14 jeans now need a belt, managed to not go overboard on pizza last night. Now I would quite like the scales to move as they've been sat on 10st 9lb for the last week!

Cocolepew · 05/06/2016 17:30

Well done to everyone who has lost weight.

Ive been pretty good today.
Three oatcakes with peanut butter and an apple.
A bap with ham and egg in it.
A chicken omelet with two eggs.
A low calorie jelly.

Drinks have been two grapefruit juices , a diet coke and a green tea. Ive been drinking water too..

MegBusset · 05/06/2016 19:42

Well done everyone for the losses and non scale victories :)

Managed to be reasonably good yesterday at the caravan :

Soya porridge
Salad pot for lunch
Strawberry split (lowest calorie ice cream there was!)
BBQ in the evening, I had two Veggie sausages, one veggie burger, lots of salad and no bread. Had one bottle of light cider

Today have been for a long walk and only had :

Oatibix and soya milk
Salad pot
Apple
Tea will be spicy root vegetable casserole, again passing on the bread

But! My period has arrived a few days early, grr. So that may halt any weight loss for a few days. I just need to avoid falling face first into the chocolate like I usually do!

HairyMaclary · 05/06/2016 19:45

Back on track today, despite a day at the beach and temping ice creams etc.

Yoghurt with nuts/seeds and raisins
Pitta bread with 2 spinach falafels hummus and lettuce
Small piece of tea cake
Chilli bean and mushroom casserole with broccoli and 0.25 cup rice.

LOADS of water!

Hope to have gone back down even though I didn't cycle today - beach was too tempting!
