Lose half a stone in June? Anyone want to join me?

I need to lose weight. I have a BMI of 24.5 so only just in normal range. I would like to shift a stone as I'm far too flabby at my current weight.
Anyway, I'm starting off by aiming for half a stone weight loss during June, through increased activity (Fitbit at the ready!) and sensible eating.
Anyone want to join me?

Good morning, I am going to quietly join in this thread if nobody minds. I am a mature Uni student, full time, and as such, copious amounts of sitting on one's arse reading and writing has produced enough arse to sustain me in an apocalypse for at least three months before my situation became dire enough to have to worry about starvation... I don't have any fandangled things like fitbit and I don't have a weighing scale, so I will never weigh in or tell you how many steps I have taken. But the day my jeans fit again, by God you'll all know about it! I need to lose 1 stone and 2 if I am completely honest, but what bothers me the most is how unfit I have become. I walked yesterday for 2 hours and slept for an entire 10 after it, I am aching today and I struggled to walk yesterday - I hate that. And finding clothes to wear while exercising? Depressing. So I am in.... I like low carb but I am hopelessly useless, I never learned to cook, I like my food simple and straight and easy. I am currently trying to find a way to be better at this.

threebats, I don't cook much (depression, laziness), quite like low carb too, but can't really afford it these days and worry about stinky breath . It's too easy to grab convenience food. Which generally is not healthy.

I will join too please. Have been losing and gaining the same few pounds forever. Feeling very fat and bloated today after weekend of being super lenient.
Have been doing the No S diet but I just ending up eating crazily at the weekends. Have got Fitbit and under utilised gym membership!

Hello all, just returned from a brilliant holiday and together with a new relationship I've put on about 9lb. It's a very stubborn 9lb. I am happy at about 9st 7lb, but would like to dip below that just to check that I can.

I'm in.

My other goals for June are to seriously cut down on the processed sugar that I eat and to do 12 sessions at the gym focussing on my arm strength.

Great to see so many of us here :-) I weighed in yesterday at 151.2lb. I've completed level 1 shred with weights this morning (really low impact) and some yoga. Will try and run later and keep below 1200cal xx

I think I need to join please , I am going on holiday soon and need to lose some weight. My BMI is 27.4 !!! I have already lost about 5lbs but seem to have stopped. I am 5ft 3 and weigh 11st 1lb. This is the heaviest I have ever been and I look terrible. Large size 14. I would like to get to 10st but would be happy with 10.5. I have health probs and am on 2 drugs that are known to stimulate appetite so I have to be extra strict. I get terrible hypogylcaemia too if I dont eat regularly so I need to eat more healthy items and less biscuits. Grin

Can I join you please?! I have about 2.5 stone to lose and would like to do it sooner rather than later, aiming for around 2lbs a week, joined slimming world a few weeks ago and not really stuck to it but got dp on plan now too so hopefully it will start shifting soon. I want to not be so flabby I'm too short to be fat!

Me. I need to lose 3 stone. I'll do mfp and some exercise. Anyone want to volunteer to kick me up the backside if I disappear?

Me please! I have half a stone to lose and aim to do it with the help of MFP and my Fitbit. I need to cut out junk food altogether (especially sugar) and cut back on carbs.

Hello all. I've started again properly today on the no s diet after a guests and cake blip for the last days of may. I had lunch at 12:30 so will be very hungry by my dinner out at 20:30 but hopefully some tea or water will sort that out. Next event is a wedding in going to on 18 June so focusing on that and losing another couple of kilos by then. Really must do some proper exercise this month.

Why does low carb give you bad breath? I'm eating less carbs, about a quarter of my plate but don't want to be stinky?!

Hi Lexie, we have similar June goals Smile

It's great to read you all here.

I am going to lose by doing 2 fast days a week. I'll also be using kilos.

I can do fast days ok. But, to loose weight I need to have reasonable days during the week too. I want to see if I can combine those two things and loose if I still have 1 'couldn't care less' day per week.

In fact that's been my problem if I'm honest.
I've been doing 2 fast days a week for a while now. But then all the other says of the week have been silly days.

I need to plan a bit more. And I need to behave more wisely around crisps and sweets.

I used to do a fair bit of exercise. But now I'm soooo busy !!! So in short I believe In will only lose if I eat more reasonably at the moment.

I'm in. Have been doing this alone but could do with some group motivation.

Had started 30 day shred utility quit so want to start again.

Will make tomorrow day 1!

I want to lose another stone all together and would be happy to get rid of half of it in June if not all!

I'm in too.

Could do with losing 1.5 in total but 0.5 would be a good start.

Also need to get fitter. Feeling ridiculously unfit at the moment. Aiming for doing more walking, swimming 3 times a week and generally being on my feet more during the day to start with.

0th June

Sugary crap consumed - none.
Calories eaten - just under 1000 I reckon by the end of the day.
Exercise - 1st weights session of the month and 1 yoga class.

Obviously got June off to a great start with the zeal of a recent convert. The lack of calories isn't great, but I'm not going to worry due to the 1000s I've eaten daily for the last week or so. The lack of sugary crap is a really big success for me as I can't think of the last time I didn't eat a chocolate bar or packet of biscuits or three.

Today hasn't been great. Stayed just under calories but snacked too much and also finished off DC's leftovers Hmm I really need to sort the snacking out.
No cals left for the evening so just sipping on camomile tea.
No shred today either as I felt too hot, bothered and tired to do it, but it's the first rest day I've have in a week.
Today WILL be better...meals are planned, small and sensible afternoon snack and back onto the shred.
I need to be strict for these next few days as I'm away with family over the weekend and lots of meals out are planned so damage control before and after is needed.

A two hour walk this afternoon with slappings of suncream on. It was so hot, it felt like a harder walk than yesterday, I walked about 8 miles. I ache far more than yesterday and walked 10 miles then. Yet to tackle a hill. I fear a hill will kill me, and I have yet to write a will, do not want my pesky dc's to run off with all my worldly goods while they throw my carcass over a hedge (assuming they can lift it that is) and allow me to rot in peace. Went with younger dd who is a military marching machine - quite unfair really on day two of get fit or die trying, the latter almost nearly came true and she ate an ice-cream as I sipped (gulped) water. My hands got swollen, she informs me this is heat and dehydration - so I have upped the water consumption considerably and will continue to do so throughout daytime, not only when I walk. Next exercise this evening is hauling the bins out, about 10 steps each way, this sounds easy but seriously, my legs are in ribbons. If I do not check in tomorrow? The cardboard collection night finished me off.

A good thing it's not June yet... 3 packets of crisps and 2.5 glasses of wine today. A bit extra at lunch too but not too bad.
Tomorrow however is June, will weigh in properly and start MFPing everything.
Anyone got good, no cook, ideas for breakfast. Have to be out of the house by 7.10 with 2 children having made packed lunches etc most days. There is no time to cook but I don't know what to eat!
