Lose half a stone in June? Anyone want to join me?

I need to lose weight. I have a BMI of 24.5 so only just in normal range. I would like to shift a stone as I'm far too flabby at my current weight.
Anyway, I'm starting off by aiming for half a stone weight loss during June, through increased activity (Fitbit at the ready!) and sensible eating.
Anyone want to join me?

When loosing weight I weigh in every morning so today I'm 64.3kg this morning so 0.3 down. Pleased with that - phew - 1 day down 29 to go!

Hope everyone has a good day today. I've got my meals planned out including a wimpy burger and fries for lunch as I promised the DSes one after swimming this morning. Hope the rubbishy food is cancelled out by still being under calories, not sure about that though!

Thebigredcar · 02/06/2016 06:56

I'm trying to do the same mscolouring start new habits I'll continue with when I maintain. I've successfully lost with mfp before but put some back on after a bout of illness.

I have to say I'm on 1400 Cals a day and I am finding it hard this time. I am hungry in the evening and I'm craving sweet stuff.

My diet is quite healthy I think most of the time but my downfall is picking and snacking. I want to eat all the time! Yesterday I ate skyr yogurt with and apple chopped in, with cinnamon and unsalted peanuts sprinkled on. Lunch was pitta bread with feta, watercress and tomato. Dinner was roast veg, new potatoes, feta and salad. Snack on carrots, cucumber and cherry toms and 3 nuts. I weighed everything and included milk for drinks. I came in at 1350,

Out today where we get fed at a school fun day so I don't know what I'll eat there.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 02/06/2016 06:56

I definitely find that planning the meals on MFP the day before is massively helpful. Stops me snacking and keeps me focused on what I can have for the day.

If I do fancy a treat, then I just make sure it's logged.

Love my Actifry too, as can have lots of chips!

Zazu44 · 02/06/2016 07:42

Thanks everyone, I don't have breakfast before work as too early, so eat when I get there, around 8 or at break 10.30. Sometimes not time for lunch or if organised a salad, hungry around 5 so tend to have some chicken or fruit then which results in not hungry at dinner so don't eat then, and try to last til the next day. Trying to cut sugar and carbs also but tricky. Crap willpower I guess! Lost weight last yr on SW, but put it back on and need to fit into those summer clothes in 7 weeks Confused
Just need to woman up and get going, someone give me a kiss up the arse please

OctopusArmEnvy · 02/06/2016 07:59

Zazu44 - not sure about a kiss up the arse but I'll give you a kick to get into those summer clothes 😜
Not too bad yesterday. I shredded in the morning and ate 1400 calories so over my aim but not a complete catastrophe.
Off to the gym tonight and hoping to stay below 1200....
Good luck everyone xx

Blush should have worn my specs! Sorry for the typo, I'm on it todayBiscuit

almostthirty · 02/06/2016 08:20

I'm in! I have been stuck on 10 st for 6 months now after losing 3st . I now need to lose anther 1/2 to be comfortably in the normal bmi range.
I have started using the Paul mkenna app to try and rejig my thoughts around eating. I'm really enjoying it and if nothing else it puts me to sleep within 10min which is great for me!

aghjmyrtle · 02/06/2016 09:13

Can I join you, please? I am desperate to lose at least a stone and I need some motivation! I have been a Weight Watcher on and off for the last 8 years and have never managed to maintain the weight loss so I have decided not to throw away any more money on WW and do it myself but it is so hard!! I am going to cut out the snacking as I feel that is my downfall. I love the Hairy Dieters cook book, has anyone tried their recipes? I also have Paul Mckenna's book 'I can make you thin', unfortunately he hasn't managed it yet! Good luck to everyone else.

Diamondangel8 · 02/06/2016 09:38

Hello

Id like to join. I've lost 3 stone since February, only 1 more stone to go til I am not at target and not overweight anymore.

MegBusset · 02/06/2016 09:43

Hello! I'm in. Been failing to lose half a stone since Christmas but really need to fit into last year's summer clothes! Am starting with a few days' detox - no sugar, bread or wine. I have a new job next week which will mean a new routine including an hour or so walking a day so hoping that will cover me for exercise.

Weight this morning: 9st 11.75lb
Target weight: 9st 4lb

Let's do this!

bugsyburge · 02/06/2016 09:54

Can I join you? I'm also on the 5:2 threads but some extra motivation won't hurt. I tend to hover around 10.5- 10.7. I'm happier at 10st but my preferable is 9.7.

This morning I am 10.5. I have a wedding at the end of July and would like to be as close to 9.7 as possible...if I could be half a stone down by the end of June then that would be amazing!!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 02/06/2016 11:34

Planning meals is one thing, sticking to it is another.

Weighed myself this morning. Am 11st exactly which is 1.5lb lighter than 10 days ago.

Today likely to be a disaster in terms of healthy eating and will probably involve alcohol too. I might just remove it from the calendar. Grin

RedMapleLeaf · 02/06/2016 18:15

2nd June

Sugary crap consumed (so far) - none.
Calories eaten (so far) - 500.
Exercise - rest day.

Once again avoided sugary crap during the day, including plates of biscuits at training event. Tonight I'm out for a meal with friends, with all you can eat buffet (including puddings). My plan is to taste everything I fancy but with very small portions. Not sure what to do about dessert.

gillyginger · 02/06/2016 18:23

Have an ok day so far , though this is the time I usually start picking , under my 1200 calories today , just need to figure out food for later might involve ratatouille , just need to drink more water, stayed the same the past few days hopefully will get under the 11stone mark by Monday !

HairyMaclary · 02/06/2016 18:52

Hungry now! The wimpy at lunch was really empty calories and not worth it but I'd promised the DSes!

Going to drink loads of camomile tea and water try and feel full!

MegBusset · 02/06/2016 19:13

I've had a good first day:

Oatibix with soya milk
Veg soup and rice cakes
No snacks as not really hungry enough (must still be full from yesterday's pizza)
Tea will be Quorn chilli

Drinks: coffee x2, diet coke, glass of water. I really need to drink more water. I find it very boring though!

Two-hour walk with the DC this afternoon.

bugsyburge · 02/06/2016 19:19

Decent day today...I was toying with fasting today or tomorrow. I decided this morning to fast tomorrow but then I've ended up fasting today. I normally save my calories for my evening meal on fast day but I split it over lunch and dinner tonight and I was uhming and ahhing over fasting for so bloody long.

Today I have had:
2 sunflower seed toast with whole earth PB and half banana
Greek yoghurt with 5 strawberries and 1 Apple

Lots and lots of water plus a couple of cups of tea.
I've done an hour of yoga and will likely do another 30 minutes when DD has gone to bed

Slightly over the 500 but I don't stick religiously to that figure

Cocolepew · 02/06/2016 19:20

Think Ive done well today also.
3 oatcakes with peanut butter and an apple
Some peri peri chicken and salad.
Salted chilli chicken, peas, carrots and a small portion of chips.
Drinks, grapefruit juice, 1 green tea, 2 diet cokes Blush

karatekimmi · 02/06/2016 19:27

Quite good so far today, have eaten under my cals, but could do with eating better food and less crisps!! How's everyone else going?

Thebigredcar · 02/06/2016 20:02

Done good today come in under Cals. Had bolognaise with courgette and carrot spaghetti for the first time and it was lovely, didn't think it would be! Enjoyed it as much as pasta

HairyMaclary · 02/06/2016 20:04

Was too hungry, had a banana! Now 1400 cals exactly. Not too bad as I'm looking to be between 1200 and 1400. Looking forward to proper food tomorrow though!

RainbowFlower24 · 02/06/2016 20:49

zazu I'm doing the no s diet by Reinhard Engels as last month I found it relatively easy to sustain except when I had guests who kept buying cakes. If you search on your preferred search engine, it comes up but essentially it is
No sweets
No seconds
No snacking
Except sometimes, on 's' days ( weekend, special days)

Today I didn't leave the house as I had a work from home day but I did do a fitness blender workout so not a bad second day.

Zazu44 · 02/06/2016 21:13

Thanks

That sounds great will take a peek and see what I can find. Smile

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 02/06/2016 21:14

1.6 1050 cals
2.6 1100 cals plus 30 day shred lvl 1

Also downloaded a free Paul McKenna type weight loss hypnosis app. If nothing else it'll be good to go to sleep to as it's very relaxing.

Zazu44 · 02/06/2016 21:19

Can you tell us a bit more about the Paul McKenna hypnosis app?
