Lose half a stone in June? Anyone want to join me?

I need to lose weight. I have a BMI of 24.5 so only just in normal range. I would like to shift a stone as I'm far too flabby at my current weight.
Anyway, I'm starting off by aiming for half a stone weight loss during June, through increased activity (Fitbit at the ready!) and sensible eating.
Anyone want to join me?

Go for it Threebats !
Loved reading your post.

Yesterday I weighed in at 67 kg. That means I'm aiming for 64kg by the end of June.

Yesterday I had a fast day. All was going well. Even though I was hungry I managed to stick to cups of tea. Then, whilst I was busy DH made tea.

ShockSome sort of creamy cheese sauce and chicken - with chips !!Confused
I ate it. Just it ( which was good for me because I was tempted to write the day off and have other 'extras').

So, this morning, hopped on the scales. And, yippee, I'm down just over half a kilo.
SmileI'm really pleased.

Now I need to eat reasonably today. This is where I need to be careful because I've had a habit of doing the opposite on a regular basis.

Ok fingers crossed. Can someone wish me luck to help me feel less lonely on this task today ? Sad

Thebigredcar · 01/06/2016 06:41

Hi all just weighed in for my first day at 12st 4lbs Sad Put on two pounds this last week then, I am hormonal though I suppose.

I'm finding it really hard to stick at a lower weight when I get there though I'm on anti depressants which I think make me hungry and I have a chronic illness that causes pain and fatigue so when I get a flare like last week I cannot exercise and I crave sugar when I'm tired. Hoping joining you all will help!

gillyginger · 01/06/2016 07:13

ALemonyPea · 01/06/2016 07:13

I'm in. Doing SW and so far lost 19lbs in 7 weeks. Need to lose a lot more, but in the meantime, I want to lose 9lbs by 20 June.

minnymoobear · 01/06/2016 07:15

Me too please!
1 st June
Fitbit charged and set to 8000 steps for this week - will walk more at work and in evening
Just done 10 mins sit-ups and beginners yoga
Having 2 boiled eggs for brekkie, and less carbs at lunchtime and evening

HairyMaclary · 01/06/2016 07:45

Weigh in this morning for June 1st is 64.6kg. I'd love to get to 60.something by the end of June. It's a bit more than half a stone but not much! I'm in my Lycra ready for work out once DS2 has gone out for the day.

Breakfast today is yoghurt and a banana, will make fridge porridge tomorrow, thanks for the idea, I love that and had forgotten about it.

I've got a massive cooking day planned - lots of stuff for the freezer, including cake, so will need to be really disciplined. It's the afternoon munchies that really get me and I eat cheese and crackers like there's no tomorrow!

MsColouring · 01/06/2016 07:52

Just weighed in at 10lb 9 so am aiming for 10lb 2 by the end of the month (a nice round 10lb would make me even happier).

Hagothehills · 01/06/2016 08:10

Good morning all!

Weighed in last night at 10st7 so down 3lbs! Made up! Grin

How is everyone?

Going to be a tough day today - lunch out with my mum in town and dp hinting at takeaway tonight. Breakfast was a wholemeal roll toasted (bit like a muffin) with butter and jam on one side. Works out at about 5 syns, that leaves ten for the rest of the day so not too bad :)

Bin85 · 01/06/2016 08:18

Yes please!
Got my Fitbit , need to up my activity levels
Got my motivation , holiday and a wedding to attend.
Need to find my willpower!

Rshard · 01/06/2016 08:20

I'd love to join please! Have lost almost 2 stone with WW and started running again. I'd love to get to the 3 stone mark for my holiday at the end of August so half in June and another in July should do it! Going a away tomorrow tho but taking running gear.

WW weigh in tonight so I'll update with a 1 June weight and target.

Good luck everyone!

CloudPiineNoNiine · 01/06/2016 08:32

Good morning Brew

I weighed in this morning at 10st 13 again I think the bloody scales are broken Grin

I have had the added pleasure of my period starting this morning - which will account for the huge bloated stomach I have been sporting for 2 days.

I'm aiming for 10st 6lbs by the end of June.

Good luck everyone!

threebats · 01/06/2016 08:35

Good morning all - I don't know how much I weigh, I go on my jeans, of which I have three sizes - (i) fat (II) where I ought to be (iii) too thin. It crossed my mind that I have not divulged my fatness to all so, I cannot say what I weigh, but I am struggling into a size 14 jeans, I am 5'4. I am 45, that is really old - I cannot believe I made it to age 45 - I am aware that at 45 I will begin to slow down and losing weight does become a bit of a chore, it's not as easy as it was at 25. I am a sloppy and lazy cooker/eater and have no time for faff diets and cannot, absolutely not fast - if I deny food for a day I will stuff my face until I explode the next day, this is because I am a rebel who will, even when against the self, refuse to follow rules and rebel. It is a problem, it's always been a problem... I have had this morning, a glass of water and 2 cups of coffee - I have this inherent hatred of food first thing. I have to be awake and alive for a couple of hours before I eat. I have chicken for today, beyond that nothing planned food-wise. I understand I need to plan more and be better at this. It's all part of establishing better routines going forward. I will begin this today. I will plan. I actually like low carb eating, I find it's very easy to sort out a quick meal. But as I cannot cook, any 'diet' becomes miserable as food repeats. And gets boring. But I am really going to try this summer to learn to cook just a few simple dishes that can sustain a healthier lifestyle. By the end of the summer, my intent is to: have walked and cycled my way to a little weight-loss so I can return to the pool and the laps I so loved doing 5 years ago, I am at Uni and they have a pool which means cheap usage and easy access each day I attend Uni - food is secondary for me to my fitness levels. So that may differ from a lot of people on this thread. I have debated purchasing a low carb cook book but honestly? Can't be f'ing bothered when I hate cooking so much I possibly will never use it after page one - how to boil an egg and cook a sausage... You all sound so much more together than I do... Sigh... Still, onwards and upwards I go, into the chaos I will enter and out of it I will be a svelte and fabulous older lady (!).

RedMapleLeaf · 01/06/2016 08:41

Good morning all on day 1!

Today's challenge for me will be on the sugary processed crap front. I'm on a training day and there's a threat of plates of biscuits. Luckily there's no catering provided, so I've got a calorie-counted stash of food to get me through the day Smile.

Motivation levels - high.

CloudPiineNoNiine · 01/06/2016 09:38

Threebats we are the same height and have same jeans size. I'm 10 st13 so I'd guess you're about that - give or take a few pounds.

You are so right about losing weight when you're older. It's a real pita

twobambinos · 01/06/2016 09:38

And we are off. I weighed last week at 9St 8 so I hope I'll be alot closer to 9 stone at the end of this month. Goodluck everybody

HairyMaclary · 01/06/2016 09:42

Workout done - off to drink gallons of water now while I cook!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 01/06/2016 10:12

I'm mostly with you on all of that post. I'm less interested in the weight loss and more in changing lifestyle habits back to where they used to be.

I might try and combine it with 52 small changes as well.

hellogoodbyeendo · 01/06/2016 10:19

Hello, I'd like to join you all too! I lost 5lb on the May half stone thread - *waves at hra and rainbow. A bit more motivation would be good.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 01/06/2016 10:29

Haven't shredded yet as ipod is out of battery and the download is on there!

Trying to stick to below 1200 calories.

Half term means I'm not getting the walking in which I normally do. Will have to get out with the kids and dogs and try to make up for it.

Can anyone recommend some decent scales. Mine are in kg and are on a dial so it's hard to see small losses. Want some electronic ones.

LMGTFY · 01/06/2016 10:40

OK so I weighed in at 12st 7 this morning, at 5'5.5" that is 2 stone over the top end of my healthy weight range. I've had 2 boiled eggs and 2 cups of tea so far, salmon and veg for lunch, it's tea time where I tend to fall apart though.

macnab · 01/06/2016 11:02

knock knock - can I come in too please?

I'd love to drop half a stone. I'm not hugely overweight but have put on enough that a LOT of my clothes don't fit me comfortably and I really can't afford a new wardrobe.

Snacking is my major downfall. And waste. It seems I just can't deal with it, instead of binning the toast my kids didn't eat I eat it myself. Same goes for anything that's left over. That and my ridiculously sweet tooth. I really need to get a grip.

I started back doing couch to 5k recently, just did week 5 run 1 last night and I managed it (3 x 5 min runs with a 3 min walk in between) I find I carry any excess weight on my bum and thighs and running really helps to shift it so I'm really trying to stick at it.

I work full time and have young kids so mornings are hectic. I like the idea of a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast - do you peel them or leave them in the shells in the fridge? Do they not stink the fridge out??

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 01/06/2016 11:08

Finishing of food is a difficult habit to drop! Luckily we have dogs , so they get the leftovers now.

OctopusArmEnvy · 01/06/2016 11:38

Kiddies leftovers are a nightmare for me too esp as I normally wait to eat with DH a few hours later so I'm starving when they are eating. I might try chewing gum tonight at their meal time????

Rshard · 01/06/2016 11:52

Totally agree with kids leftover, have to put them straight in the bin!

LMGTFY · 01/06/2016 13:03

I'm a total minesweeper too, think I'll have to make them eat lamb all the time as that's possibly the only thing I won't ear!
