Lose half a stone in June? Anyone want to join me?

I need to lose weight. I have a BMI of 24.5 so only just in normal range. I would like to shift a stone as I'm far too flabby at my current weight.
Anyway, I'm starting off by aiming for half a stone weight loss during June, through increased activity (Fitbit at the ready!) and sensible eating.
Anyone want to join me?

Weighed in this morning at 10st 1lb, aiming for about 9st 8lb. Plan is sticking to around 1,200- 1,500 kcal most days, logging using MFP, HIIT 2-3x per week, 10,000 steps a day and running a couple of times a week. Normally eat either Greek yoghurt, fruit, a few porridge oats and flax seeds for breakfast, or sourdough toast with avocado, soup or an omelette for lunch and a 400-500 kcal supper with loads of veg and always a slimline gin and tonic because I need one! Slowly losing the last of my baby weight I hope.

Can I join? I'm a veteran of faddy diets and weight swings. I feel like I've been on and off diets for the last fourteen years but I've still ended up over three stone overweight. So since the beginning of May I've been trying to take a more sustainable approach. I've been fitbitting and MFPing and have lost six pounds. So half a stone in June would be lovely. Weakness for me is alcohol, bread and chocolate chip, and I eat when I'm stressed - which is pretty much all of the time.

chocolate chip cookies - no idea what chocolate chip is but I suspect I might like it...

I think chocolate chip is the sort of thing that would taste amazing, but in large quantities wouldn't help with weight loss.

Decided to spend less time sitting down at work today. Bit of a fail on the walking and swimming front though.

Good luck everyone - waves back at everyone, especially hra and hello and Peterson. I've managed to be sensible despite being on a work trip so the month's started well. I'll be reading the thread, eating three one plate meals a day, drinking water and trying to exercise and weighing in next Wednesday. My plates, when at home, are roughly half vegetable, or in the morning some fruit as well a quarter protein and a quarter carbs. When out I try to get as close to that as possible - on Sunday afternoons I've got an ice cream or slice of cake planned so I think about that whenever I'm tempted in the week.

Count me in, really need to lose more than a stone but can't bear counting calories/points/syns etc.I lost weight on weight watchers a few years ago but put it all back on, and more, the following year.
I took up running earlier in the year but my commitment is up and down.
Planning to try sensible eating, but keeping a food diary, as well as running and shredding.
I'm away with work at the moment and that's always bad news for my diet.
I'm currently lying in my hotel room wishing I'd forgotten to pack my running gear!
Well done to all the motivated people, hopefully I'll find my motivation soon!

Logging a 12,9 starting weight so hopefully will finish June at 12,3. That would be fab!

Yes please! I weigh 166lb (11st 12lb) and half a stone this month would be awesome. I was over 15st in 2012, have had 2 kids and lost 3 1/2 stone in between. I'm karatekimmi on mfp if anyone wants to add me. I need a focus and a kick up the bum.

Off to read the thread now!

Hope today is going well for you all! With HUGE effort, and thinking of this thread, I managed to resist the 3-5pm hunger attack and have stayed under 1200cal today even allowing for my small beer I've saved once the children finally drop off.

Weighing in at 10.11 at 5"4. A nice 10st4 by the end of June would be lovely although I sprained my ankle yesterday so won't be in the gym this week. Going to try for 1200-1400 calories a day too. Smile

Can I join?
Half a, stone is my giirst goal. I managed to lose a stone last summer, and kept ut iff.
But new medication put another 2lb on in the last few weeks.
I eat way too much chocolate and crisps, mainly at night.
Do we have to write what we've eaten?
Im not calorie counting at the moment, just trying to cut out snacks/replace with fruit.

Had a hectic day but a good one. Been so busy and on my feet all day so only had 3 small meals and no snacks so coming in at just under 900 cals plus I managed to fit in the shred this evening. Hopefully I can have similar day tomorrow to counteract the weekend of meals and days out with the family.

Wow, 900 calories! I think I might manage on that if I was ill with flu or something, seriously impressed.
Staying under 1200 calories is brilliant too, I can do that if I watch everything I put into my mouth.
I managed to drag myself out for a short run and also found a reasonably healthy option on the hotel menu so feeling a bit more motivated (also remembered to ask for slimline tonic with my gin - do I win the thread?)

me please. I saw a video of myself today (gave an interview, not famous though!) and I looked awful :(

I will try nutracheck and walking more. Will aim to start tomorrow, so one day late.

I have a wedding in under 2 weeks so if I could lose 2-3lbs in about 10 days that would be fab

1st June

Sugary crap consumed - none.
Calories eaten - under 1000 (too low).
Exercise - 1 conditioning class at gym.

Another day of too low calories, but meal out tomorrow at vegetarian buffet will address that. No sugary crap consumed despite temptation of free biscuits at training course.

Small bowl of coco pops (nothing else in house Blush
melon,
crackers with Light Philadelphia and grapes.
Curry (just over 400 calories) 2 Poppadums
Packet of crisps.
Ive got a stonking headache now and just realised it was probably the milk on my cereal. It seems to affect me sometimes Confused

Oh yes please, (I killed the last weight loss thread I was on though so you may not want me Grin)

5ft 7, come down from 12 st to 11st 2 in past few weeks and have another 7 lbs to go to feel reasonable. Got a holiday to aim for.

Using mfp and my trusty fit bit - did over 25000 steps on sat so better see a loss this week! Tend to be slow and steady on the weight loss but need motivation now to get the last bit off.

What diet is everyone following? So much info out there it gets confusing, any help would be great as I start the day well then fail miserably at the end. Confused

I use MFP, but honestly don't believe that there's any one single way that will work for all. It just depends what way of creating a calorie deficit works for you.

Report
RedMapleLeaf · 01/06/2016 22:35

How do you fail by the end of the day.

Report
MsColouring · 01/06/2016 23:33

I am using mfp too. Trying to work on developing habits that I can maintain once I have lost the weight.

Today has been mixed. Had a croissant with my breakfast as the kids were having them but only had one and had fruit with it keeping it below 300 calories. We were at Burger King for lunchtime for dss's birthday party - had a bean burger which clocked in at 500 calories - didn't have fries as that would have added another 300 calories and drank water. Ran this afternoon - now completed C25k. Had an omelette with lots of veg for tea which only had about 300 calories. So finished the day just under 1200 calories - not the best day for nutrition though.
