I'm at my heaviest ever-5'4" and 15 stone so I need to lose 4/5 stone. I've lost a couple of stone many times then get bored and put it all back on again but this time I'm determined and am going to take one day at a time. I started on Monday and all good so far-anyone want to join me and we could motivate each other and post meal suggestions if it would help?

Welcome lam-how did first weeks weigh in go?

OP posts:
Iamnotanugget · 26/05/2016 22:42

Thank you for the welcome. It went well, 2lb off. I'm trying not to think about how long this is going to take and get to grips with the idea that it's taken years to go on if it takes months to come off that's okay. I'm calorie counting but trying to look at a weekly total rather than daily as I'm want to be flexible in the hope that this becomes a permanent change in my eating habits rather than a diet if that makes sense.

Poppledopple · 26/05/2016 23:48

That's an interesting approach - weekly calorie counting - never considered that before - but genius really....

Well done everyone! It's great hearing about your continued success, makes me feel positive I can do this if I stick with it. I've lost 2lb this week, which I'm pleased with. I'm seeing my mum in around 5 week's time. I keep thinking how great it would be to have lost enough for her to notice.

hunibuni · 05/06/2016 10:25

I'm back after a hectic few weeks. Been sticking to pt and spin and have 7lbs and 7 1/2 inches off all over, mostly from my hips and thighs. As one of the posters said, it's difficult to keep in mind that it won't just drop off. I was happy with the results considering that I had a week of mostly eating out due to birthdays etc.

Going to tweak the diet and actually start using my pedometer because I've realised that I tend to rest completely on non-gym days and not take the dog out because DS does the walks, so I'm going to tag along.

Poppledopple · 05/06/2016 13:55

That's great huni - it's all of those little tweaks and habits that matter and make a difference in the long term

Agadooo · 06/06/2016 12:26

Can I join in? I've been slowly losing weight since before Xmas and have gone from 15st11 to 12st10. I'm 5ft5 and aiming for around 9.7, ideally a little lower. Seems insurmountable at times but taking it one day/week at a time. My BMI has dropped from 38 to 30, and waist is 7inches smaller. I'm very keen to get my BMI under 30 by next week which I'll do if I lose 1lb.

Agadooo · 06/06/2016 17:37

Welcome sugar-that's great progress you're doing-3 stone down-wow, well done you- I'm aiming to eat about 1200 calories and no junk or high fat stuff like cheese etc. what about you?

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 06/06/2016 18:01

I've been counting calories with MFP, aiming for around 1300-1400/day. Need to up my exercise now really though as the weight loss is slowing down. I've cut out as much processed food/junk as possible aside from the very occasional treat. My current targets are really quite modest, aiming to be 12-12.5 for a wedding in July, and 11-11.7 for another in early October. I'd love to be a healthy BMI (

I had someone who I hadn't seen for a while say that they noticed a difference, which was a boost cos I don't really notice it except for the bit immediately below my boobs. I think I'll notice it more when it comes off my face. My neighbour lost 5-6st a couple of years ago and she was saying that it took her 12 weeks before she felt like she was making progress.

Wow really impressive results from all -- important to look at the total loss - doesn't really matter how long it takes does it ? - as long as each week you either stay the same, loose a bit or address it it you put on a bit - that is progress and puts you in a much better place that when you started.

Daughter - I have looked at the bsd - not ordered the book yet - but have you seen the support thread a on here? I think that I will transition to it when I have done 12 weeks of Cambridge......as I won't have reached my goal by then but I hope to have created new habits around eating healthy nourishing food.

For the first time ever I couldn't physically finish a slice of peanut butter stack Shock I went for coffee with my friend and we spilt it in half and I couldn't even finish my half.... I don't really like sweet things but it was the first treat in 6 weeks and I couldn't eat it Grin

Agadooo · 09/06/2016 15:39

Wow hunibuni that's never happened to me Blush!! Daughter-am sad that you missed out on something u really wanted because of your weight-you'll get there-very demotivating when ur loss is slow though, know what you mean. You losing 1/2 lbs a week?

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 09/06/2016 17:56

Hunibuni it's never happened me either. I'm very weak when it comes to any nut butter.

Daughter- I've only lost 0.5-2lbs a week since January and I'm over 3 stone now, so what seems like minimal progress turns into good progress fairly fast.

I have trouble in that I know I've lost quite a lot of weight, and am wearing smaller clothes but can't quite see the difference. Some of the clothes I was wearing at nearly 16stone still fit (although I was fairly squished into them!). I need to lose 2 stone more to get to a healthy BMI so it's still a long way to go.
