Welcome daisy well done on losing a stone, how old is dc? Are you doing a particular diet?

I have had a bad day. Was aiming for 500 cals but I started picking at the kids food then it all spiralled I'm now having a beer Shock

beyond that sounds like a excellent plan.
As the body coach says " step away from the sad step" I think you are doing an amazing job with the running.

I'm feeling very overwhelmed at the moment but I'm not sure why. I have a lot on my mind. I'm worried about ds1 his speech is still non existent it's almost as if it's gone backwards. He "talks" so much but it's just noise, no familiar sounds. He doesn't even say words that he used to. I'm also freaking out about potty training. He hates wearing nappies constantly pulls at them, but he freaks out when put on the potty or toilet. Do I just go for it? Spend the week with no nappy on? Sorry for my self indulgent post. Blush

Racheyg · 04/06/2016 22:48

Also is it possible to feel a little depressed about giving up breast feeding? I haven't feed ds2 for 4 days now. Just feeling quite sad about it Sad

Greenrabbit · 04/06/2016 23:44

Sorry you're feeling so down Rachey, of course you'll be feeling depressed about the breast feeding, it's a big change for both of you. Take care, I'll post properly tomorrow X

I'm just focusing on eating 'well' whatever that means. I don't trust myself to not get too obsessed with a particular plan unfortunately.

Rachey, breastfeeding didn't work out for me at all! I kept trying until a midwife gently suggested it might be best to call it a day (ridiculous that so many women feel they need permission to stop but there you go!) and I was very weepy about it so
Flowers for you! Congratulations on your weight loss too!

Racheyg · 05/06/2016 20:32

Hi daisy That is a wise move not getting too fixated on a particular diet.

I'm sorry to hear of your struggles with breast feeding. I also struggled with ds1 and gave up at 6 months. But ds2 I have just weaned at 1 year.

Thanks for the congrats. It's a bit of a sore point as I'm losing weight that I've already lost about 4 weeks ago, thanks to an over indulgent holiday Blush

Hope you all had a good weekend

Greenrabbit · 05/06/2016 21:08

Hi Daisy. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. Has the weather improved any? I hate walking in the rain.

My hormones sent me crazy when I stopped feeding DD1 (she was 12months). I remember crying at work for an hour over something ridiculous. I also felt bad about stopping (even though she wasn't bothered!)
This time it's taken about 6months for everything to settle back down. My periods got really close together and I was getting really bad PMT.
It's finally settled down now. I hope you are feeling better today. Sometimes everything just seems very overwhelming doesn't it?

Is your DS having speech therapy? (Did you mention him going to a group?)

I'm trying to potty train DD2 (again!). She was refusing to go on the potty. I bought her a book with stickers in (about a princess and her potty). She keeps looking at it and it has made her want to sit on it more. They probably do boys versions too (if he's not impressed by princess stuff)

She's only managed one wee on the potty all week. She must have a bladder like a camel as she's only had 2 accidents. She's held everything else in till bath time or till her bedtime nappy has gone on. She's incredibly stubborn. Although she did agree to wear knickers today, so that's some progress I suppose.
There is also a C beebies series called 'My first' and there is an episode about potty training. She was quite interested in that.
I'm just panicking because she is starting school nursery. I wouldn't be quite as bothered if she wasn't. I'm hoping something 'click' into place with her soon. DD1 did it in a week without any drama (I'm sure 2013 babies are more high maintenance)

How has your fasting gone today Beyond? I still think it's fantastic that you've reached week 6 with the running.
Is the party a special, one? Have you got an outfit yet? I'm sure 5lb will be achievable on your plan.

I'm glad you found my post motivating. Sadly I had wine on both nights. I have no will power. I haven't ate too badly though.
I'm switching to counting calories from tomorrow. I just think it's silly that some foods are so high in points, when they aren't too high in calories.
Example, I bought full fat Greek yogurt (it tastes better and keeps me fuller). 100g is 130 calories, yet it is 8sp( you get 30 a day). I've found similar with olives. I'd understand if they were processed foods, but it's not like they are in anyway bad for you if you stick to the correct portion.

The Davina website is okay. You get 3 workouts to do everyday based on your fitness level. There is a diet plan too, but it seems too complicated.
I'll find the code I used. It was free for the first month and £5 a month after. It's supposed to be very easy to cancel too.

I'll try and find some of the blogs etc. I looked at that many I can't remember.

We all deserve an over indulgent holiday every now and then, Rachey! Grin

Weather was lovely here today so took the dogs on a nice long walk today.

Hope everyone has had lovely weekends with at least a smidge of sun!

BeyondTheSea · 07/06/2016 09:38

Well done on you amazing loss Rachey I'm sure the remaining few lbs will be gone soon as well. Sorry to hear you are feeling down, hormones are crazy. I felt really sad when I stopped bf as well. Especially after DD as I knew we weren't having a 3rd baby. I'm really sad now as she is getting so big! I think they go through a phase of not wanting to wear nappies. You could try a nappy free week or maybe plan this for when you have a few days off together? I used Pirate Petes potty book with DS and I think it helped. I'd be happy to post it to you. Also sorry to hear re your concerns with his speech. Can you speak to your HV again?
Going to do another post in a mo, keep losing what I have written, laptop is dying!

BeyondTheSea · 07/06/2016 09:45

How are you Sol ? Hope you had a nice weekend? How are you getting on with insanity? Are you weighing in this week? Hope you have some luck finding a swimsuit you like, also hope that work is ok (ignore the very unpleasant people).

Good idea re calories counting Green those points don't make sense at all. I'm a big fan of greek yogurt for breakfast. I am trying to fast 3 days a week and stick to 1500 3 days. I Managed 500 on Sunday but was about 800 yesterday. Today is a 1500 day thankfully Grin

It's a friends birthday party that to be honest I can't summon up much interest in going, it's quite far away and we don't really have any mutual friends. I think I am just going to wear a old favourite top from Monsoon with skinny jeans and heels.

Thanks for your encouragement with the running. I'm not really making any progress now though which is frustrating. I am going to try harder this weekend.

How was your weekend Daisy ?
How are you getting on Miffy ?

BeyondTheSea · 07/06/2016 09:46

Ps Green Think I am in you neck of the woods next week, work thing.

TheMshipIsBack · 07/06/2016 10:28

Hi all, is it ok if I join? I have a 4 yo DS and a 3 month old DD. I'm 36 and currently working on a goal of losing about 5st, some of which is accumulated baby weight and some from before. I'm trying to do it gently, over the course of a year and a half, so under 1lb a week on average, as this is a serious lifestyle change. It's going pretty well, am down 10 lb in 7 weeks. I fully expect this rate to vary and for the last stone to be the hardest to shift.

Like daisy I'm not following any particular diet, just cutting out junk and trying not to snack. DD is EBF, which seems to be helping, plus we co sleep and she wants me in bed with her at 8 pm, so I have no opportunity for late night snacking!

I weigh myself on Wednesdays or Thursdays and was 16st 3 lb last week. My eventual goal is 12st, as this was where I felt most comfortable back in my early 20s. I'm 5 ft 7 in, and that would put me just at the healthy/overweight border.

So here's to healthy eating habits and feeling positive!

daisywhoopsie · 07/06/2016 21:02

I always have the best times when I didn't really fancy going. Low expectations, maybe? Hopefully that will be the case for you, Beyond! I also love the skinny jeans and heels look. Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with the ability to walk in heels. Very unfair really as I'm only 5ft!

Welcome Mship! Sounds like you're doing great so far. I think it's very sensible to go slowly and see your weight loss as a lifestyle change!

I usually weigh myself on a Sunday but as it's my favourite spot the sarcasm time of the month so I've skipped this week as I know I'll have gained. I'm sure periods were easier before DS came along! I think I now understand the meanings of both bloating and PMT unfortunately.

Not a bad weekend here. Trip to the park and the normal family Sunday! How was everyone else's?

Shirkingfromhome · 07/06/2016 21:07

Can I join please?

I've just had my second (and last) dc, 8 weeks ago and have the daunting task of shifting the post-baby weight. Being pregnant over Christmas did me no favours whatsoever! I'm considering a buggy-fit type class but I'm worried it'll be full of super-mums. Has anyone done one?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 08/06/2016 06:12

Hi everybody,

my dieting has swung between being on Exante to eating absolutely everything in sight. I am going on holiday in 4 days and haven't really lost any weight. Part of me wants to stick to it and lose some weight before I go, but the other part of me can't be bothered. I am really lacking motivation. However, I did a 10k charity walk and felt great after that, but I haven't weighed myself.

Rachey we are attending SALT with DS2 as he only has about 10-12 words, and at 2.5 years he should have about 150-200. I'm back on Friday and I can post up any info she gives us, like the way I did on the last thread, do you want me to? It's very worrying, DS2 is very frustrated with himself as well as us. I am dreading toilet training because he can't tell me when he needs to go. We're taking it very slowly, we got him a special seat for the toilet and he sits on it before his shower. We're going to switch to the Lidl pull ups too (they're quite cheap and very good) when he goes to Montessori in case he wants to try using the toilet when he sees all the other kids using it.

Green you are so right about 2013 kids being high maintenance! What was in the air that year? Perhaps we should start a toilet training support thread to save us from pulling out our hair Grin. I have heard that the new ww points seem to be all over the place, they seem to have lost their way a bit.

Welcome Daisy, Mship and Shirking, it's great to have new people on the thread.

You are doing brilliantly with your running Beyond, have you noticed much of a change in your physique since you started? Are you using MFP to track your calories? I keep losing track of myself when I calorie count. Your outfit for the party sounds lovely, I too love the skinny jeans and heels look but I have legs like a rugby player so I don't look good in it.

TheMshipIsBack · 08/06/2016 07:49

Good morning everyone! Weigh in this morning and I'm another pound down. Feeling really positive. DD is refusing to be put down for naps so I'm hauling an extra 14 lb of baby + sling and backpack around everywhere. I think of it as resistance training ...

Sol My DS was referred to SALT at 3yo, with a vocabulary of probably 100ish words, but minimal sentence structure e.g. just starting to do 2 word combinations. He was discharged after 6 months because it was like someone flipped a switch in his brain and the speech just came all at once. He's just turned 4yo and you can't shut him up now! The SALT team said this was a normal pattern of speech development for a minority of children, but they had to rule out any other issues. Oh, and he wasn't fully potty trained till 3.5 - frustrating that it took so long, but we got there in the end.

Greenrabbit · 09/06/2016 21:49

Hi everyone. I lost 3.5lb at WW yesterday, but I'm really struggling.

Welcome to the thread Shirking and Mship. Congratulations on your new babies.
ShirkingI never tried buggy-fit. You should go and try it, if you don't feel comfortable you need not go back. It might be fun, especially in this nice weather.
Mship the baby cuddles sound lovely, well done on your weight loss.

Sol 10k is amazing. I think you should just concentrate on your holiday and not worry about the dieting. you must be going very soon? Did you get your swimming costume and have you seen the beauty box from M&S (£10 when you spend £40, has Beyond seen it?)
I hope you have the best time. We'll deal with any weight gain when you return. (But drink lots of wine for me when you are there)

Beyond how are you? You'll look great in the outfit for the party. Are you staying overnight? I agree with Daisy, just enjoy a child free night. We have a wedding (evening do) at the end of July. It's DH's friend so I won't know anyone, but we are staying overnight and I plan to make the most of it.

Let me know if you are here for work.

Are you okay Rachey? How is DS1 doing. We are still failing at potty training!
How are you Miffy and Daisy?

Beyond sorry I still haven't tracked down any blogs. It seemed to be random links that I followed from Facebook, or came up when I googled specific diets.

I read this the other day and cried a lot. www.scarymommy.com/mom-bod-swimsuit/?platform=hootsuite

I also read the first Ruby Wax book. (I was going to read the one you mentioned in the last thread, but the first one was cheaper!)

Racheyg · 09/06/2016 22:39

Sorry had a huge post and it disappeared. I'm too tired to write again. Will do tomorrow.

Sleep tight everyone

TheMshipIsBack · 10/06/2016 07:35

Wow green 3.5 lb is fantastic! Hope it gets easier for you.

BeyondTheSea · 10/06/2016 12:36

Enjoy your holiday Sol you can concentrate on the diet when you get back and you'll be in good company :) That sounds like a really stressful situation with DS, 2.5 is still very little. I am sure he'll make progress, DS only had about 20 words at 2, I think due to constant ear infections, but all of sudden he started talking loads about 3 1/2. Good luck with potty training, I agree with 2013 babies...
Anyway I hope you a much deserved amazing break. Please try not to think about diet/weight and just have a lovely time.

Amazing work on the 3.5 lbs Green Saw that beauty box but am going to resist due to excess of toiletries. Definitely make the most of staying overnight at the wedding. We are staying over night too but DC will be with us, it's a family friendly party. I'm hoping to skip off with DS early, I'm so shattered and averaging about 6 hours interrupted sleep a night at the mo. I'll take a look at your link.

Hope you've had a good week Rachey

Welcome TheMship and well done on your lb. I had (have) a put down refuser too, exhausting but using up more calories {grin}

Welome Shirking I didn't do anything as energetic as buggy fit I'm afraid, I mainly ate chocolate and biscuits which is why I am still on the thread 4 years later. Congrats, 8 weeks is still very early, you must be exhausted so be kind to yourself.

How's you week Daisy ? I'm going to take some flats as well, I'm no longer a prolonged heel wearer, in fact I was thinking of charity shopping mot of my heels and just getting loads of nice sparkly flats.

TOM, not weighing in, since Wednesday not stopped eating. My fabulous will power is just astounding.

Racheyg · 10/06/2016 14:35

Hi all,
I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile.

Welcome mship and shirkin you have joined a great thread. Speaking as a fairly newcomer (1 year) posting on here has really helped me. Feel free to share other things going on other than diets. We love a bit of beauty Grin
