Morning all,

I'll join on Slimtember Green Hope you had a great time away. Hope you've had no more cake dreams. It's a bit depressing isn't it? Let's have a new Christmas target....

How are you Sol Liked your wedding ideas, wish I'd known you before my wedding, ours cost a fortune (we paid for it ourselves).

Rachey Hope the music festival was good, I like your chosen dress, lovely colour. I can probably give you loads of advice re not to do at weddings ! I wouldn't bother with favours for example. Also don't be forced into panic buying a dress that doesn't suit you ....

Daisy That's so stressful. You poor things. If you have been referred to a cancer specialist, you should be seen within 2 weeks, hopefully you'll get an appointment next week. I work in the NHS and although I understand why you are considering paying for a scan privately, I think it would be better for scans to be arranged in the specialist center, they will have the experts able to interpret the scans. Was the scan at the same hospital? Once you get the appointment, everything should be much smoother, the scan would be arranged and then formally reviewed with radiologists and the specialist (generally there is a weekly assessment meeting for all new referrals). Have you the name of the dr you will be seeing? You could ring his pa? I'm sorry it's all been so difficult and I really hope you get the appointment soon.

How are you Myship ? and Cellar ?

My summer has been awful diet wise. We went away twice, I find dieting much more difficult when at home with DC and not at work. It's been a juggle trying to balance childcare and work. A friend also was very suddenly unwell and sadly died, it was such a shock and has been emotional. With all this, I have been very unmotivated and doing a lot of emotional eating.
Anyway, I am roughly the size of a small island.
Which is just great.
And makes me feel worse.

So I weighed myself.
The scales managed a reading (while looking at me in an aghast kind of way).
I want to lose 25lbs before Christmas. I'll then reassess, Maybe I'll just go for it and try and lose another 7 (Which would be lowest weight for over 20 years).

Fasting today.

Greenrabbit · 30/08/2016 09:25

Morning everyone.

Daisy that all sounds incredibly stressful. I wish I had some practical advice to offer but I don't know much about referrals. Is there another GP you can see who will refer DP? I hope you get somewhere with it all soon.

Sounds like you had a good weekend Rachey. I've also piled on the weight. I think Slimtember starts today for me.
I've read so much about diets etc that I've confused myself again. My WW subscriptions ends in a month (I tried to cancel but they gave me a free month). I really can't face the scales and it's going to be difficult to go to meetings for the next few weeks.
I might just try the 4:3 fasting again. I really think I need to just cut out processed food and alcohol. Hopefully if I do some fast days I'll lose enough weight to keep going.

DD2 starts school nursery in just under 3 weeks time. It's part of DD1's school so I can drop them both off together. I'm hoping that once she's settled I'll be able to do some exercise straight after dropping them off. She's just doing mornings, but I'll have 2.5 hrs child free! (Although I'm sick of everyone asking if I'm going back to work)

I'm currently in the middle of decorating and sorting toys. I'm hoping I'll be finished by the end of September so I can have more time for exercising/cooking.

Hopefully your DS will settle in quickly. I'm worried about DD2. They still seem so young? She was tiny compared to everyone else at the nursery visit. They'll probably be fine. When does he start? Next week?

I hope everyone else is good.

Hi,

sorry for disappearing, I've had that bloody virus again and I'm in bits. I'm on steroids and STARVING! DH is joining weight watchers tomorrow and I'm going to do it too. So I'm totally on for Slimtember.

Sorry to hear all that you're going through Daisy, we're all thinking of you. I hope you get some results soon, the waiting is dreadful isn't it?

I'm hoping the endless routine of work and school for the kids will stop me eating. I won't drink during the week because we have to be up and out so early. I'm hoping it has some impact.

I've started my Christmas shopping, I love Autumn and Winter.

Greenrabbit · 31/08/2016 10:48

Sorry to hear that Sol. You must be very run down, make sure you get some rest.

I've enjoyed the summer holidays but I will be glad to get back into a routine. We've lost motivation to keep busy this week. the children have only just finished breakfast. I'm going to drag myself out soon!

Yesterday was fine (food wise). I managed to avoid chocolate/crisps/alcohol/bread, so that was a win!

BeyondTheSea · 31/08/2016 15:11

You poor thing Sol Hope you feel better soon. Good luck with weightwatchers, will watch your progress with interest. I do wonder if those good old fashioned diets are more effective than fad ones.
I like Autumn winter too, prefer the clothes and love the lead up to Christmas!

Are you doing the decorating yourself Green ? I am sure your DD will be fine, we worry too much. Well done on you good food day. I'll join you on the 4:3 fasting.

I didn't manage a fast day (birthday cake temptation) so fasting today instead. Had a tuna salad so far.

Good luck with the two nurseries Rachey That's a pain you have to pay for full days. Do you work 5 days? Have you made your final decision re dress?

Racheyg · 31/08/2016 17:16

sol I'm sorry to hear of your poor health again, you must be so fed up with it all.

beyond no I haven't decided I'm so fed up with trying stuff on, I feel very fat in everything at the moment. My families fave is the reddish flowey dress but mine is the coral strapless as I feel I look skinnier. It's so hard as all my friends are skinny so I really want to not be the odd one out.

Oh be back soon have to send a few emails

SolitudeSometimesIs · 31/08/2016 20:35

Thanks for all the kind words. I've been feeling very down about myself as I am the heaviest I've been in years. Hopefully the stronger meds will kill the infection and I'll get some energy back.

I have all the weight watchers stuff downstairs to read through later. Dh said the meeting was ok and the people were very nice. He tried to chicken out of going but I made him.

What's 4:3 fasting Green and Beyond? Is that 4 days fasting? I'm not sure I could manage that.

I think you should go for the dress you feel most confident and happy in Rachey. You'll be annoyed if you end up wearing something you're not 100% happy with. Have you got all your accessories and stuff?

Greenrabbit · 31/08/2016 21:46

The new WW plan is good Sol, if DH is doing it with you it should be much easier. I'm just greedy and lazy.

4:3 is 3 days fasting.

I've realise that I've done loads of Christmas present buying already. I picked up a Boots order today from the toy sale.
I love the Christmas topic on MN.

I agree with Sol Rachey, wear what you feel best in. I thought you looked skinny in your pictures. Don't compare yourself to others. When is the wedding?

I forgot to mention that the nursery thing sounds like an expensive pain. I always thought you could pay for half days?

I am doing the decorating Beyond and I stupidly bought the wrong finish/colours of paint. So instead of it being a quick touch up, I've had to do 2/3 coats on the ceiling and walls. Plus as its all open plan I still have loads to do.
The nursery teachers do a home visit in 2 weeks time, that's what made me start as the paintwork was filthy. I think I'm just going to tackle,it again at the weekend. The largest part of the room is done.

I had ice cream at the park today. It was really nice.

Racheyg · 31/08/2016 22:30

Hahahaha so I tried on the coral dress and it's super tight ShockBlush

Racheyg · 31/08/2016 22:40

Argh I had a huge post and my iPhone crashed. I've had a busy day at work and had to do some at home....... Too tired to repost. Will write again tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great evening

Greenrabbit · 02/09/2016 22:00

So Slimtember isn't going quite to plan. Think I'll start properly on Monday (new school year?)

I also hate decorating.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 02/09/2016 22:04

green I'm starting half way through slimtember as have a wedding tomorrow and a big night out planned with my dsis a week on Tuesday. I have just wolfed down a huge kebab as well Shock

I take my hat of to you, I always thought I would love to decorate then when we brought the house I was like..... No another day of stripping wood chip paper Grin

BeyondTheSea · 02/09/2016 22:07

Hope you are not feeling as down Sol We can get motivated again. You need to recover first though, be kind to yourself.

Pay someone Green ? And having some good days is better than having none at all. I fasted Wed/Thurs but have been totally off the rails today, hoping for some kind of loss on Monday.

How long til you need to fit in the dress rachey ? You have loads of lovely options.

I just ordered a few things from M & S, will try and link.

BeyondTheSea · 02/09/2016 22:08

Enjoy the wedding rachey Tuesday night out? That's hard core!

Racheyg · 02/09/2016 22:28

beyond have booked two days holiday while the kids are at nursery so I don't have to look after them while hungover which is what would happen on a weekend. Don't be fooled I'm a total light weight.

Thanks I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, although I'm nervous about the bra situation ( it's sheer at the back)

Ohhh please post links of your purchases.

Hope you all have a great weekend x

Racheyg · 02/09/2016 22:29

sol I hope you are feeling better? X

Greenrabbit · 02/09/2016 22:30

I'm only painting Rachey! We renovated an old cottage 10 years ago, never again. It's just hard painting over white paint without natural light.
I gave up and I'm drinking wine. I'll start again in the morning.

The place is never tidy enough for decorators Beyond! I'm sick of tidying. I've just been shoving all the toys to one side to paint.
The nursery teachers are visiting next week so I have to finish, it's been a great motivator.

I like your Tuesday night out Rachey, it's like being a student again. Enjoy tomorrow, you'll look great I'm sure.

What did you get Beyond? I've bought two coat/cardigan things from eBay. I need some jeans or trousers.
Well done on your fast days.

I haven't tried them on but though they might be good for autumn with boots. Of course they could equally be a disaster. I'm bored on my constant jean/jegging wearing.

Think we need to look into some storage options for you green
NO bra advice from me Rachey I'm in desperate need of new bras and some hoiking Blush

Racheyg · 03/09/2016 06:37

beyond I love the colours of both dresses. I'm sure you will look amazing in them.

Greenrabbit · 03/09/2016 08:52

They look lovely Beyond, nice and autumnal.

I can't wait to wear tights again. I miss my boots too, I have a pile of smelly slip on shoes to bin once summer is over!

We definitely need more storage. There aren't any useful cupboards etc in this house. We've had plans for an extension done but we didn't like them. So we are deciding what to do next.

I really need bras. I keep saying I'll go when I've lost weight (ha ha).

I'm trying to motivate myself to start painting again.

Greenrabbit · 04/09/2016 10:09

I've just placed an Exante order. I'll have 3 weeks worth of meals.

It's probably a really silly idea.

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 04/09/2016 10:32

I'm considering it Green due to some shocking photos - I honestly didn't realise I looked so bad :(

Greenrabbit · 04/09/2016 11:56

Non of my clothes fit Beyond.
I've got loads of nice autumn/winter dresses and tops but they look awful on.
The trousers I bought in May will explode if I wear them.

I'm going to have to cobble some legging/tunic combinations for a couple of weeks. I refuse to buy a bigger size. Hopefully getting back to a normal routine will shame me enough to get myself motivated. (Big sigh)

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 04/09/2016 21:38

How was the wedding Rachey?

Your decorating sounds like exercise Green. I'm the same as you with having no clothes. I tried to put on my work clothes last week and I was horrified, I must be a size 18 now.

I like those tops Beyond. I love Autumn and Winter. Probably because I can cover up more flesh. I love a long knitted cardigan, but I'm buying nothing until the end of September to see if I drop to a 16.

My eating habits are definitely healthier and there's been a reduction in snacking since I'm back to work and the kids are back to school. A new gym has opened beside DS2's Montessori so I am going to head there for 45 mins 3 days a week and do a workout. I'm going to drop in on Tuesday and have a look around.

The weight watchers plan is hard for me to get my head around, I preferred the propoints rather than the smartpoints. But DH has been enjoying it. I might stick to propoints. I seem to have lost the purple book with all the points in it, I wonder if you can buy them somewhere?
