Thanks green. I know I'm only 4 days in but I really enjoy this diet. It might be harder when at home thou as I am a picker. Blush

I track on my fitness pal (only the basic version haven't paid the monthly subscription) but I am weighing everything.

I prob average at 50 grams a day. In the book there is not set amount but I'm guessing you should aim for less the 100 and avoid all the "bad" carbs. I'm yet to weigh myself but I feel less bloated. Sunday will be a struggle as we have family round for ds1 3rd birthday but as we are hosting I'm hoping me running around will stop the temptation Grin

I checked my blood sugar level pre fasting and I was 4.4 which is a good level but apparently I am at risk due to my big babies and all my fat is around my middle. Apparently I should weight around 9st for health. this is my goal (fantasy) but it's such a huge way off its scary to think about.

Racheyg · 07/07/2016 06:42

green how are you measuring your steps? My fit bit broke and its 2years old. So I should think for buying something else. I spoke to oh as I like apple watch but he scoffed.

Racheyg · 07/07/2016 08:11

green don't beat yourself up about exante. Enjoy ur plans for the next few days then start the bsd

Greenrabbit · 07/07/2016 11:40

Thanks for the info about the carbs Rachey. I think I'd confused myself by reading some threads about it. I'm going to use MFP too. I think that the basic version is unite good. I did wonder what to upgrade would do?

I just have a basic Fitbit (it might be the one?). I was sick of clipping it onto my bra and looking like I had a deformed nipple so I bought a wristband to put it into! Not sure how well it's working though, it seems to think I've climbed lots of stairs this week (I live in a bungalow)
I still can't decide on a new one. I like the look of the new one (alta?) My dad has the smart watch one, which he likes but it looks too big for a woman. I've tried the Apple Watch on but the price put me off (plus I like my watch collection!). My DH thinks I should get one, I think there will be a new model out later in the year so I might wait and see.

I won't beat myself up about the Exante failure. It's pretty awful stuff.
I've been shopping this morning and lots of fresh stuff so I will plan some meals tonight and do some batch cooking so I'm more organised.

I've got to stop feeding the kids (only joking)

You know the sandwich thins? I put some Tom purée, cheese and veg on half and toast it like mini pizzas....... How can I resist eating them?

For dinner they have vegetable fritters, which are also delish. I'm going to find it hard to stop picking at their food. Hence I need to stop feeding them Grin

SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/07/2016 22:12

My foray in to Exante has been shit to be honest. The kids aren't sleeping properly, so I'm not sleeping properly and I am craving sugar and caffeine to get me through the day. I have an event in two weeks so on Monday I will be going hell for leather on Exante as I have a dress I need to fit into and I look like a heifer in it right now.

You are doing so well Rachey, do you find the lack of variety annoying or does the diet suit you? I have never heard of the blood sugar diet, is it a long-term plan?

You are right about Exante being crap Green, it's just depressing slop isn't it? It works when I stick to it but it's so hard to do.

Racheyg · 07/07/2016 22:20

Hi sol,
I only heard about the bsd about 6 days ago. Brought the book and I thought why not. It's 8 weeks of 800cals a day and no carbs. When they say no carbs it's things like rice, pasta bread, potatoes. Limit your carb intake to about 50-100g a day. After 8 weeks you do 5:2 (on 800 cals) then maintain on the med diet.

It can be quite repetitive and if you don't like eggs your screwed but I need to do something and was very unmotivated with the body coach. And you can have the odd glass of wine/alcohol as long as its within your daily allowance.

I have been weighing everything and tracking on my fitness pal. I'm not going to be to strict as have a few events but I'm hoping to lose a stone by September.

What event do you have that you have to dress up for? I love getting all dressed up

Greenrabbit · 07/07/2016 22:30

You need to stop cooking such nice meals for them Rachey Grin I was reading about Lavish bread on another thread, it's low carb and supposed to be good as a pizza base.

Sol the blood sugar diet is another diet from Michael Mosley (the 5:2 bloke). Have you got a Kindle/Kindle app? The book is really cheap on Kindle.
Plus you can have hummus!

It's basically 800cals a day for 8 weeks, lowish carb. Then you can switch to 5:2 or 4:3 (whatever you like) Great health benefits.
I'm starting on Saturday.

There is a proper website for it , I was reading the results thread and people are doing really well.
There are a couple of threads on the fasting 5:2 boards too.

I've made the decision that any remaining Exante is going in the bin! I know what you mean about sugar/caffeine cravings. I'm constantly exhausted at the moment. I look like crap, the house is a mess because I cannot be bothered with much. I can't wait for Autumn and dark mornings.

I have a wedding do at the end of the month so I'd like to be 7lb lighter by then.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/07/2016 23:14

Green my house swings between being super tidy and organised to being a shit-tip. 800 calories though, are you not bloody starving? I love hummous, are you inhaling it. I'm assuming you're not slathering it on crackers?

Rachey I am going to a 40th birthday, it's my friends Husband's birthday and I bought a dress on sale - it was 14 euro - but it's quite snug. It's a fancy party, they have no kids so they throw really lovely events.

Greenrabbit · 08/07/2016 09:45

I haven't actually started yet Sol, I'm sure I'll be hungry though. I plan to start tomorrow. If I have have extra calories to get me through the weekend I will. But I'm aiming for 800 during the week (ha, I sound so confident. I'll have probably gave up by Tuesday)
I think you're supposed to have the hummus with veg. It is hard to stop eating it once you start.

My house is always a mess. It's a real tip now because I started de cluttering again, which seems to distract me from actual tidying and cleaning.
Plus I have bags of stuff piled up for charity. It feels very cathartic though.

Racheyg · 09/07/2016 13:09

Ok, I'm not going to lie. 800 cals is hard work when ur at home. And I have a bbq to host tomorrow. Sad

daisywhoopsie · 10/07/2016 10:44

Morning all!

Been very busy here so haven't been able to post as much as I'd like! 2lbs down since I last weighed in (which I'm pretty sure was 2 weeks ago as opposed to 1).

Rachey, please keep posting meals! I'm so nosey I love to read things like that.

Will try and post more this week. Hope you're all well Grin

Greenrabbit · 10/07/2016 20:59

Hi Daisy. Well done on the 2lb, are you still doing lots of walking?

How was the BBQ Rachey? Was it for DS birthday? I've just realised that I'll have to organise something for DD next weekend Shock. A BBQ is probably a good idea.

You are right about 800 calories. I tried to start yesterday but failed miserably. I did do some batch cooking so I have a supply of soup and quiche/frittata for the freezer now. I will try again tomorrow. It's quite a busy day so I shouldn't be around food too much to be tempted.

OP posts:
daisywhoopsie · 10/07/2016 21:22

Hi Green! Still doing a fair bit of walking, yeah. Have been trying to incorporate some more toning exercises but my tum is going no where. I'm not sure it ever will but I'm trying to stay positive and remember I may now have a saggy different stomach but I also have DS. Small price to pay really but it's still getting me down a little.

Fingers crossed for lovely weather next weekend for your DD's bbq Smile

Racheyg · 10/07/2016 21:33

Hi all,

This weekend has been a right off. But I have avoid all complex carbs (Bread, pasta ect)

Thanks green yes it was ds1 birthday. (Well it's tomorrow but he is at nursery) he was very spoilt and had a great time.

Bbq is a great thing today for kids birthdays especially when they are young as it's very inexpensive. I'm waiting for them to have big parties when older.

daisy well done on your 2lb weight loss. I'm glad you are enjoying me posting my meals I will continue Grin

BeyondTheSea · 11/07/2016 07:06

Sorry not been around, crazy week and then DD birthday cekebrations. Had lost 2lbs but have cosumed a lot of cake and scones. There's also half a large pink cake in the kitchen to tempt me all week.
Fasting today.
Hope your DS had a great party rachey.
Might join you on blood group diet rachey and green.
How was your weekend sol?
Super well done on 2lbs daisy.
How's things mship?

Have a good week everyone.
I'll try and post more. On a very slow train to work at the mo but absolutely shattered. Attempting a fast day.

BeyondTheSea · 11/07/2016 07:08

Good luck with the exante sol and hope you get in your dress!

Greenrabbit · 11/07/2016 11:31

Hope they both have/had lovely Birthdays Rachey and Beyond.
DDs is next Monday. We've done a BBQ for the last 2 years. It just seems to have snuck up on us this time!
I suppose I can be grateful that I'm much thinner than 3 years ago!

I think I've came to terms with my stomach now Daisy. I was quite horrified by it after DD1 though.

DD2 had a nursery visit this morning. It was fine till we had to leave and she saw her sister. She had a massive tantrum, we haven't had one like it for months Blush. So I'm not looking forward to September (the teachers probably aren't either)

Anyway after dealing with that I feel quite sick. So I haven't ate anything yet. I have soup ready for lunch and roast chicken with vegetables for dinner.

Well done on your 2lb Beyond.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/07/2016 13:51

I had written a huge post but Ds2 deleted it. So this will be brief.

Well done on the losses Beyond and Daisy, you're both doing so well.

Green and Racbey, how are you coping on 800 caps long term? Are you not mysteriously hungry?

I have put back on the 10lbs i lost since my holiday. I now have 13 days to lose 18lbs. So exante for me for the foreseeable future with some exercise thrown in on top. I want to give up and buy a dress in a bigger size but I think think would be admitting defeat and Ill never lose the weight and Ill be fatter than ever. Feeling quite down but I will rise to the challenge,I think this will be one of moments where i either tackle my weight problem or don't. Its mind of make or break.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/07/2016 15:53

Ok. In a bid to be skinny I have put together an exante meal plan for the next 12 days and I will stick to it religiously. Then I will have no more exante left and I'm hoping I will have broken my dreadful binge/starve cycle. Its the weekends that are the worst for me. I don't even remember when or how I let it get so bad, but its terrible for my health, my self esteem and an awful example for my kids. I'm going to take before and after pic too.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/07/2016 15:54

800 cals and monstrously hungry. This pad is so annoying.

Racheyg · 11/07/2016 16:44

Breakfast
0% fat Greek yogurt 125g - 78 cal
100g strawberries - 30 cal
Flax seed 10g - 51 cal

Lunch
Tuna in spring water 100g - 90 cal
Courgette grated 1/2 - 9 cal
Spinach - 20 cal
Sundries tomatoes 40g - 41 cal
Trio Spanish olives 50g - 69 cal

Snack
Beef jerky 25g -72 cal

Dinner - I'm not sure but have about 300 cal left so may do something with butternut squash

Will post more later....

SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/07/2016 20:37

That sounds really nice Rachey, really healthy and loads for so little calories.

I stuck to Exante all day, it was a bit boring and way more synthetic than your lovely menu. I have my 12 day menu posted to the door of the press where Exante is, I can tick off each day as I go. I really need 18lbs to melt away in 13 days, do you think it's possible?

Greenrabbit · 11/07/2016 20:42

I wasn't too hungry today.

Had some coffee and tea with milk this morning.

Lunch was broccoli and Stilton soup (240 cal)

Dinner was roast chicken with stir fried vegetable and a handful of butternut squash (350)

Then 20g of almonds (150) I wish I'd had something more filling than these

I'm going to bed with a cup of tea soon.

I've ordered some high protein snack boxes from the Graze online shop. They work out cheaper than buying them from the supermarket and there was a good selection. There are some money off codes too (SHOP5 for £5 off £20 and SHOP7 for £7 off £30)
I thought they might be good for when I'm struggling.

I feel the same as you do Sol. My self esteem is very low at the moment, feeling very miserable. I know it won't all magically get better if I can shift some weight. But if I can get out of binge/ starve/ have afew glasses of wine to cheer myself up habits, then I might start feeling more cheerful generally.Flowers

Greenrabbit · 11/07/2016 20:44

I'm not sure you'll lose 18lb in that time? Don't put that amount of pressure on yourself. You'll just feel bad if you don't manage it.
