Hi all! Resistance training is going well. I thought a few weeks ago I was heading for a back injury, but took it a bit more carefully since and am now feeling quite strong. I'll weigh myself tomorrow or Thursday to see. I did officially pass my DD last week - she weighs 14lb 7oz and I have lost 15lb since I started tracking, so my knees will be net winners from now on as I hope to lose faster than she gains!

I'm a dual citizen as is DH and both our kids. I'm an academic with a shortage skill set. beyond - The mood at the institute where I work has been bleak. My job is safe for now, but DH and I are beginning the process of preparing for another overseas move. It'll either be NZ (long time dream location and I have collaborators there) or Canada (other citizenship and where our families are based).

Hi all,

Thankfully i am back in the world of Wi-Fi, ours was broken when we got back from holiday,so no tv or Wi-Fi for the last few days.

I too was horrified by the Leave result, what were people thinking? It has big impacts here due to northern Ireland but it's been the response from the politicians that campaigned to leave that has been most worrying-they don't have a plan.

Could i persuade any of you to move to Ireland? Its nice here, a bit expensive but we can get coffee instead of exercising!

Four dry nights is amazing Rachey, I'm glad the potty training is going well. I bought all my stuff today so we are easing DS2 in to the idea of it. I don't want to put any pressure on him but I don't want to infantalise (sp?) him either. I have a neighbour whose nearly 3 year old is still on 2 bottles of formula per day with a soother 24/7 and no attempt to toilet train, it'll be a disaster when he starts nursery in September because he won't be allowed any of these things.

I put on 10lbs on my holiday but I've lost 7 since Monday.

Oh feck, the kids are gigging, back in a bit.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 29/06/2016 18:29

Killing each other, they haven't started a band!

daisywhoopsie · 30/06/2016 15:38

Thanks, Rachey! Glad the potty training is going well and I hope you're starting to feel better. My secret? Well I wouldn't recommend it but what you'd need to do is get yourself 3 crazy dogs. Then find 2 hyperactive nieces and offer to look after them whilst your SIL is at work and team that with your newborn.

Constantly chasing someone/rocking someone to sleep/trying not to get pulled over whilst walking previously mentioned dogs and there you have it!

Please let me know if you struggle to find the required dogs or nieces and I'll drop mine over to you!

Racheyg · 30/06/2016 21:38

Welcome back sol and amazing to have lost 7lbs Grin

Please can someone kick me up the arse and get me motivated and to stop eating?

I did a trampoline class called bounce fit on Wednesday and my god it was exhausting. Today I did a skip circuit (so the cardio part was all skipping) things that we used to do for fun as a kid I'm now having to pay for to lose weight.

Teething ds2 is awake for the millionth time tonight. Be back soon

TheMshipIsBack · 01/07/2016 08:39

7 lb sol !! I take my hat off to you.

I thought this week was a bust but I stepped on the scales this morning to find another pound down. Woo! Going for a long walk this morning with my resistance training bundle Grin

BeyondTheSea · 01/07/2016 19:44

Sol welcome back, we missed you. Well done on losing 7 of your 10lbs. That's amazing :)
Ireland? We'll consider moving anywhere....

Well done on your 3lb Daisy I'll pass on the dogs and nieces if you don't mind though.

Super well done on your potty training progress Rachey You are amazing to keep going with the exercise with so little sleep.

Well done on you lb MyShip Have lots of kiwi friends and do sometimes think about going there for a while. Exciting for you to have options. Hope work doesn't feel as bleak.

How are you Green ? Did you go shopping?

So, I've done quite a bit of comfort eating this week. I've decided I've really got to try and move on a bit and try to be positive. So I'm fasting tomorrow, I think I've got about 3 days worth of exante and may even give that a whirl to get some quick results to try and spur me on.
In the interests of being busy and positive....
I popped to the shops today and got a navy cashmere jumper in the sale for £45 (thinking ahead to Autumn)
I also got a top which I though might be good with skinny jeans (and a substantial muffin top at the mo).
and a poncho from jigsaw (about my 3rd). Can't link at mo.

Has anyone tried the boots protect serum stuff? Feel my skin needs a lift!

Racheyg · 01/07/2016 21:04

End of week one with potty training.
I am so proud of ds1 we have gone total cold turkey with nappies (apart from 1 pull up the nursery out on him on Monday) don't get me wrong day 1 and 2 was hard but he started to do it but himself by day three and now he wakes up at night calls out of us, we help him then he goes back to sleep. Every morning he comes out of his room potty in hand with his first wee. I really did think that it would be a long slog but he has done so well. Dry at night and (touch wood) no accidents at home since Sunday (but three at nursery)

Sorry for the potty post

Racheyg · 01/07/2016 21:05

beyond your purchases sound amazing I love the fact you are thinking ahead for autumn Grin

Greenrabbit · 01/07/2016 21:34

That's great Rachey, he's doing amazingly well, you should be very proud of him. Staying dry overnight is also a great achievement.
DD2 is 3 during the last week of term. So once DD1 breaks up from school I'm committing to training her seriously. I've bought pink Smarties ready for bribing. All other smartie related treats are banned until then. I hoping her nursery visit will encourage her.

Weight watchers is okay as a diet. I suppose it's all about portion control. I have no self disipline at the moment. There is a 6 month online deal on Living social (I think it's £35)

Well done on the 3lb Daisy. I'm not keen on your plan though! Grin

Congratulations on your loss too Mship. The walking must be paying off.

Welcome back Sol. How have you lost 7lb? That's amazing!

It's felt like autumn here today Beyond. I'm not suprised you are thinking of warmer clothes.
I didn't go to the shops. I had to use my M&S voucher so I bought some proper exercise leggings online. They look tiny and scary.
I do have too many lipsticks.
I've not tried the Boots serum, it's supposed to be good. I did a survey for boots were you rated lots of before and after pictures. I think it was for the serum. The people did look better after!
I'm not having a great week.

Rachey I think you mentioned Mutu? (And did you Daisy? Or Mship*?)

They have 45% off one day next week (it's Wednesday or Thursday, I will find out for sure).
They've also just improved all their website and opened a new forum (it was previously a closed Facebook group). They won't reduce it again till Black Friday.

I've owned the programme for 3 years now and not started. But other people seem to have good results.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 02/07/2016 23:14

Thanks for the warm welcome back. It feels good to be back with my dieting friends. I have lost 8.6lbs now and it's down to exante. I had some pizza tonight but I'm back on plan tomorrow and I'm starting The Shred level 3 on Monday.

Rachey it sounds like miniRachey is doing brilliantly at toilet training, you must be so proud. I have loads of info from the SALT but I might pm you in the next day or so to give you everything. Is that ok?

Mship - well done on your pound. NZ looks fab, it's a place I hope to see one day. And Canada is amazing. We have loads of family who emigrated there and it really is such a lovely place.

Beyond I bought a ton of stuff in the H&M sale for Autumn/Winter. Lots of heavy shawls and cardigans. I love a bargain. I'm not sure how to convince you to move to Ireland, but I'll put my mind to it. Exante is definitely worth dong, the fast results have spurred me on.

How goes ww Green? I think I might sign up when all my Exante has gone. I seem to have lost all concept of what is good to eat and what isn't. I'm so sick of dieting,

Greenrabbit · 03/07/2016 09:43

I'm giving up on WW Sol. Like you I'm sick of dieting. At the moment I just can't get my head around it all. I've developed a terrible routine of starving/binging.
I'm also drinking far too much alcohol. I need to be strict and do something that has faster results. I don't seem to be able to control myself around normal food at the minute.

I have done Exante left, so I'm starting that tomorrow for a quick boost. I'm reading up on the Blood sugar diet. Once the Exante is finished (I have about 5 days worth) I will switch to that.

I do think that WW works. But I think I have to tackle it from a more psychological point of view. I've been pretty miserable about everything for the last month which isn't helping.

Hope everyone has a good day. I'm going to get dressed and enjoy the rare appearance of the Sun!

Argh so angry posted a huge post yesterday evening and my phone crashed Angry

green and sol I'm with you on the fed up of being on a diet feeling.

green I started the blood sugar diet yesterday. I will struggle with 800 kals everyday as I have ds1 bday on Sunday, oh bday in 2 1/2 weeks and my birthday in a month so I will try my hardest on most days to do 800kals.

sol well done for the continued weight loss
Darn at my stop and have to jump off the tube Will post tonight.

Greenrabbit · 05/07/2016 11:22

Will you tell me what sort of things you are eating please Rachey? Have you seen the threads about it on the fasting/5:2 topic?
I have the kindle book and I've also been looking at a low carb cookbook for inspiration.

Day 2 of Exante. I'm determined to use it up, but it's not the most appealing selection of meals.
I'm trying to plan some meals and a shopping list. I'd like to start the blood sugar diet on Saturday. Luckily I've only got DD2s Birthday coming up. Then I'm hoping that I can stick to it during the school holidays. Maybe the thought of being slimmer in September will spur me on. (New diet name- Slimmer in September?)

green I did look at mutu but I don't know whether I can start it yet. Once you have brought it is that it?

Greenrabbit · 05/07/2016 21:54

It's yours to keep once you've bought it, so you can start it whenever you like. They have a similar discount in November.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 05/07/2016 21:57

I'll have a look for egg whites tomorrow.

I've done over 10,000 steps today (and yesterday). I keep meaning to do Davina but my back was hurting after it the other day. I really need to start Mutu to sort my core muscles out. Having to carry DD2 on the school run today didn't help much either.

Morning all,

sol how are u getting on with exante? Sounds like things are going well? How are dc's getting on? Did they find it hard getting back in to normal life after holiday?

Ds1 had his follow up salt last week and they want to send him to a nursery that has 1 on 1 speech therapy. Only problem is it's either 3 hrs in the am or 3hrs pm 5 days a week. I have no idea how it would work as I work 1 1/2 hr away but I don't want him missing out. Me finding work else where is also an issue as I won't get the hours or wages.

beyond how are things with you? Any more purchases?

mship how are you getting on?

daisy thanks for the offer but I don't think I could handle dogs and children ds1 is not very confident around dogs and ds2 terrorises them. How's ur weight loss going?

Oh brought me a Levi button down a line denim skirt the other day. It's really nice and doesn't enhance my round tummy. But I've gone up a size was 29 in Levi's now a 30 Sad hoping this blood sugar diet is going to work

Racheyg · 06/07/2016 22:11

Left over chilli with kale 256 cals

Snack
Beef jerky 70 cal

Dinner
1 egg and 85ml egg white scrambled with spring onions, spinach and feta 203cals

Skimmed milk for coffee 35 cal

Greenrabbit · 06/07/2016 22:48

I like reading what you've had Rachey. You seem to have made a great start and it's really helpful. How are you finding it generally?

Are you tracking carbs and if so how many grams?( I need to read my book again)

I've fell off the Exante wagon tonight (because it's awful). Going to stock up at the shops tomorrow. We have plans for Friday night, but I plan to start properly on Saturday.

I had beef jerky this morning. Yum. I found eggs whites too.
