I've managed to shift some weight at a tediously slow rate. I think I might have - finally! - cracked the right balance of foods for me to eat to keep me within my calorie allowance. I am a regular exerciser anyway so that's good.

Now that I seem to have figured out the right balance of food, I am hoping that I won't have the slow loss I've been having and can get up to 2lb a week instead of 0.5lb a week. Fingers crossed!

Hello everyone, please can I join you? I am also 5'7" with 2 stone to lose. I've tried before but usually start off well and then lose focus and slip back into my old habits. I'd like to make proper life style changes that stick this time.

Me me. I was about 17st last July. Got down to 12.5st before xmas but have wobbled since then. Last week I was 12st and have been really good this week so hope to see a loss when I weigh myself tomorrow morning.

Would like to be under 10 stone within 4 months.

Need to get a grip...

Need to Quit chocolate and alcohol and start to get active....

So glad you all want to join me! I'm going to weigh in as I've had a non diet day today. Chocolate and roast dinner Blush. I'm going to be calorie counting but using food choices from slimming world diet so I feel more satisfied and don't fail!

Hey Dalmatian, that sounds like how I'm going to be doing it. Probably very low calorie in the day & a slimming world dinner for the hole family. I also really need to kick the Diet Coke addiction too & drink more water. X

Starting running too and booked a 5k for May so need to get going- I really feel every pound when I plod

Hi everyone! I'm planning on cutting out all snacks and not over eating at dinner time. Going to try and stick to no more than 1200 calls a day, if poss 1000. Worked out my TDEE and to lose 2lb a week I have to stick below 1000 a day. This makes myfitnesspall cross !

Something I discovered this week: About 250g of sweet potato, cut up into chips, dipped in egg and then a spice mix and baked for about 30 mins.

Tastes just like spicy wedges, is really filling and under 300 cals. I can have this for dinner and be full all evening!

I am 5ft 5 and have weighed 10st 10lb for about a year (up from 9 st 7). I haven't done much about it as it didn't seem too bad but I'm 40 in September and the weight is creeping up again.

I weighed in at 10st 13 this morning (Easter eggs and takeaway this weekend!) so my first target is to be under 10st at the end of May then under 9st 7 at the end of July. I'd then like to see if I can get down to 9st with healthy eating and exercise.

I make my own mix. Yesterday I put in salt, pepper, paprika, chilli powder, garlic powder, turmeric and mixed herbs.

I did learn though to dip and cover one side and bake face up before dipping and covering other side halfway through otherwise the delicious crust just sticks to the pan and you get left with sad, baldy chips!

:) Lorelei9here, you are right I just sneak in with BMI but honestly I am plump and I can't carry it and run well. When I pick up something that weighs two stone I can see why! Add in the fact that I put it on entirely through booze and more booze and crisps and takeouts on top of ordinary meals and I need to change!

I'm 5ft 5 and 12stone-ish. Would love to be 10 stone. Planning calorie counting via mfp. Have been running c25k since Jan and have just managed 1st 5k run yesterday but can't seem to get the motivation to eat less. Confused

I'll join you all. OP I'm same height but about 13 st, so want to lose 2 st. I started today. Gave up chocolate already (I've had two days of it already) so decided is give up sugar and am doing the Healthy Trim Mum healthy eating plan. Eat fats or protein - it's low/Nil carbs and healthy eating. Well that's the plan. I'll see how I go, but yes I will join you all too.

No specific plan. I was eating seriously badly and drinking far too much wine.

I cut out alcohol and most treats. I tried to stick to around 1000 cals a day except for special times like a holiday when I ate whatever but didn't binge. I would have one treat night a week which might be a takeaway. This stopped me feeling too deprived.

I also went from zero exercise to quite a lot. I started with swimming and more gentle classes like zumba. Now I do a hardcore class like body attack or body combat 5-6 times a week with some swimming as well.

I was seriously unfit and massive and now I am less enormous and feel so much fitter and healthier. I was a 24 in July and am now about a 12-14. Would like to be a size 10 which I'm not sure I've ever been. Not been this size since I was 16 and am now mid twenties.

Hello weight loss twin. I'm also 5 ft 7 and 12 stone. Keen to avoid fad diets, food obsession and eating unhealthy foods in the name of losing weight. But also keen to lose weight!
