Twinklestar2 · 13/02/2016 19:03

I have yoyoed with the same stone since the beginning of last year. Getting fed up now but need some motivation to stick with it. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm so near yet so far!

Will be weighing in tomorrow and posting all food eaten. Feel free to join me!

Afternoon all :)

AMB good luck with the sleepover, I think that would have me reaching for the Wine and Chocolate!

Well done lougie and bambinos on the losses

Two minor miracles this week. First that I have got up early every morning since Monday to do the 30 Day Shred. Second that I had one glass of wine with my dinner last night and managed not to have a second, or any chocolate after!

Weight 9st 11lb this morning so down 3lb since the weekend :) it gets harder from here on though! Good luck everyone for the weekend!

anothermadamebutterfly · 15/04/2016 17:20

Meg, yes, just the thought of the sleepover has me contemplating the Wine and Chocolate! Neither DH nor I can really remember ever fully agreeing to it, DS suggested it and we probably said something non-committal and then it suddenly became a reality. Ah well, I guess you only have your birthday once a year.

Well done on the 3lbs. I really want to get out of the 10s and into the 9s. 9 lbs 13 is my first target, after that I think I will concentrate on maintaining and getting back into good exercise habits, and then maybe try to lose a few more lbs in the early summer.

lougle · 15/04/2016 17:36

I did a night shift last night. I resisted temptation for the biscuits and had my very healthy salad (baby bistro salad leaves, cucumber, baby plum tomatoes, mozzarella, shredded ham hock, two tsps balsamic dressing) and seasonal fruit platter (melon, kiwi, strawberry, pineapple and apple). I finished the day on 1043 calories.

fadingblonde1 · 15/04/2016 18:06

Wow well done Meg :)

Madamebutterfly it doesn't matter what the numbers on the scales say, if your clothes fit better your getting smaller and that's the main thing :)

I went to the gym yesterday and had about 1,450 cals. I don't deliberately eat back exercise calories but often find I'm hungrier after working out.

MegBusset · 16/04/2016 15:10

OK so I failed last night and had the second glass of Wine followed by some Chocolate, because it was Friday!

Still managed to get up and Shred this morning and have been good foodwise today.

anothermadamebutterfly · 16/04/2016 18:06

Meg that is a great approach, it is so easy to have a bad evening and then give up completely! I had some beer last night and a not-so-healthy second dinner (DH's fault, he popped out to get some milk from the supermarket late last night and came back with beer and chips from the takeaway, and these chips are irresistible, the proper big fat ones, not the french fries type).

Today so far OK, eggs for breakfast, mushroom soup for lunch, and I have some thin pepper steaks for dinner, with a salad.

DS and his friends are out bowling, so I still have an hour or two until they descend...

AuntieStella · 16/04/2016 22:19

I think I've had a good week. Will find out tomorrow.

Well done meg on not letting one reckless evening change the basic plan.

hinkyhonk · 17/04/2016 07:54

After giving up trying to cheat mfp I've been trying a sort of mindful eating (trademark hinkyhonk) where I've been conscious about what I eat and don't eat. I wrote down yesterday and Friday where I made choices not to eat something and on Friday it added up to over 500 cals Shock and yesterday could easily have been more. This has really helped me as I actually spat out half a pork pie on Friday that I'd popped in as I went past the fridge Blush

Bovnydazzlers · 17/04/2016 08:04

hinkyhonk I like your strategy, it's the worst when you realise you've just eaten your whole snack allowance without even noticing/enjoying it.
Well I had a rare boozy night on Friday and can't even remember how many (calorie laden) cocktails I drank which is surely not a great thing for weight loss. It was fun though. I'm slightly up 0.2kg on pre-boozy night, but rounds the same to 8 stone 8. But I'm away this week with all you can eat dining (oops!) so expecting to be back up to 8 stone 10 by next Friday again!

AuntieStella · 17/04/2016 08:23

Yippee! I'm 2lbs down!

I know what you mean about mindful eating. Waiting until I'm actually hungry has helped. Also, inputting what I'm planning to eat into MFP before eating it, to see how it all stacks up and then altering it if it seems too 'expensive'

lougle · 17/04/2016 09:46

Checking in! I've weighed this morning and I'm 65.9 kg! I've lost 3.4kg in just under 3 weeks.

What I'm most pleased about is how my attitude to food has changed. Yesterday I was post nights, so had missed a meal. I had 700 calories left so thought I'd start my easter egg. I weighed some out and started eating. After a while I I realised I want enjoying it, so I put it back and had Greek yoghurt with a banana instead! On my night shifts they had chocolate digestives. I didn't even struggle with the choice. They're empty calories. I just wasn't prepared to use my calories on them.

MegBusset · 17/04/2016 21:52

Some great strategies here! I too put the day's meals and snacks into MFP ahead of time and adjust if necessary.

After Friday's relaxation, I have been super good all weekend. Moved on to level 2 of the Shred this morning then went for a lovely long walk in the countryside. Going to attempt another week of early morning Shredding and no drinking until Friday.

9st 10.75 this morning. Would be great to be 9st 9lb by the end of the week.

lougle · 17/04/2016 22:59

I blew it today. 500 calories over. But it tasted nice and I still finish the week under my goal calories.

fadingblonde1 · 18/04/2016 13:37

Checking in, I got weighed this morning and I'm down 1 pound from last week. I managed to have about 900 cals a day for the first three days of the week, then went up to 1500 over the weekend. 1500 a day that is. I have a meal out on friday planned - leaving do from work - and afternoon tea on sunday so I plan to cut down until Friday. It gets quite frustrating losing and gaining the same pound but if I gave up I suspect my weight would go in one direction only - up!

readyforsunshine · 18/04/2016 14:12

Very well done Stella Meg fading & lougle, & anybody else who's managed a loss. I didn't dare weigh this am, feel really bloaty. However, am feeling well, mostly pain free & energetic so I've done day 1 level 1shred! Am out for dinner tonight but should hopefully manage a good week & get myself back on track. So frustrating to keep setting myself back but keep going forward. As you say fading the alternative is to get biggerShock

anothermadamebutterfly · 18/04/2016 17:48

Well done stella, meg, lougle, fading and anybody I could have missed. Good to see you all keeping going. I have had a good weekend in spite of the sleepover, and today was back to a normal menu (porridge with honey for breakfast, chinese noodle soup for lunch, and fish soup for dinner, sounds like a lot of soup, but I love soup).

I will be away with work from tomorrow until Thursday with work, so not sure whether that will be easy or not. The food should be good, but I know the place we are going and they have tasty low calorie options, so maybe it will be oK. I will see on Friday I guess.

AuntieStella · 18/04/2016 18:04

We're having family takeaway pizza night tonight, so I guess I'll be flatlining for a week or so....

Twinklestar2 · 18/04/2016 20:58

Everyone's doing so well!

Weigh in tomorrow evening Grin

twobambinos · 18/04/2016 21:18

Well done fading lougle Stella and bonvy.
Everyone is doing so well.

Bonvy can I ask what height are you. You are the weight now that I would like to be and trying to visualise what I might look like at it if I ever get there. I know everyone looks so different at the same weight I shouldn't even ask.

Today didn't go too bad. But I am dehydrated didn't go to the toilet once from leaving home this morning until I got home after 6. So I'm here guzzling away at the water. Also trying to avoid the munchies. Think I will get a satsuma or something so exciting not.

Keep up the good work everyone. I should really dust off my shred dvd hmmm maybe next week Smile 35 mins on the exercise bike today will have to do

readyforsunshine · 19/04/2016 08:56

Day 2 shred done. Weighed in this am & was not good, only 2 lbs down from start weight.

hinkyhonk · 19/04/2016 09:55

Down another 0.8lb today. Slowly slowly going in the right direction. Dear god it is slow though

AuntieStella · 19/04/2016 12:53

It's not feeling very 'well done'-worthy this morning.

So, it was pizza night. The amount I ate was about what I would have had before say about Christmas, and I guzzled it down, enjoying the taste and havering some wine with it. But then I felt so unpleasantly full, and am simply not hungry (yet?) today.

And to think we used to do that weekly - it's now monthly, or longer, spacing (I think this is the third time so far this year).

Moral: slow down! (and feed DC left overs to DH rather than grabbing them so he can't)

PetersonPeterson · 19/04/2016 13:01

I weighed myself this morning and it's going down SLOWLY- about 2lb in 2 weeks. Been walking a lot and eating a lot less chocolate, generally being careful not to snack etc, but can't do anything too drastic as have small children at home (6 months and 2) and I'm exhausted!! I know if I stick to it I can lose a stone, just hard to stay motivated. But I have a wedding in a few weeks so determined to try.

PetersonPeterson · 19/04/2016 13:04

Does anyone also find it takes a couple of weeks of eating less to start losing weight and then it starts shifting more easily? I often have to stick to it for a good two weeks and then my body starts to do it more easily. This is my 4th and last baby so I've had to lose weight post pregnancy several times in the last few years!! Think it gets harder each time.

lougle · 19/04/2016 14:00

I read that what you see on the scales reflects your eating habit about a week and a half ago. I was down to 65.9kg, then I had a big sunday roast and went over target by 500 calories. Now I'm back up to 66.3kg. I expect next week I'll drop again because I'm eating healthily again now.
