Twinklestar2 · 13/02/2016 19:03

I have yoyoed with the same stone since the beginning of last year. Getting fed up now but need some motivation to stick with it. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm so near yet so far!

Will be weighing in tomorrow and posting all food eaten. Feel free to join me!

Daren't get weighed after Easter as if I haven't put on weight I'll think 'great I can egg some more of the eggs', if I have I'll think 'bugger it, I might as well finish the eggs then start again'...

Instead I tried on some size 8 jeans I have that have never quite fit (not half as roomy as my Tescos 8s!). I'm aiming for them to fit properly which I think they will if I lost about half a stone, I suppose it's hard to tell until you get there as too how much weight you really need to lost. I'm sure pre kids I was smaller at the weight I am now so I don't want to get too obsessed with numbers.

Twinklestar2 · 28/03/2016 19:52

I have been bad thurs - sun. Been good today though!

I was the same Twinklestar, I'll try to keep it up for the rest of the week and get weighed on Friday (by which time I've hopefully undone some of the damage).

Twinklestar2 · 29/03/2016 11:31

Let's weigh on Friday together Smile

Hi, is it too late to join you guys? Just weighed myself, knew I had gained a few pounds but AM OVER A STONE HEAVIER THAN THIS TIME LAST YEAR! Apologies for shouting, in shock as my entire wardrobe is too tight or I cannot even get past my very dimpled thighs! Actually feel a bit rubbish as even my cheeks resemble a greedy chipmunk - please can I join your gang as need inspiration?!

FurbysMakeSexNoises · 29/03/2016 12:00

Oh me too! Am same as after baby! I'd be happy with six pounds off, eight better but not sustainable. I'm a massive piggie with sweet stuff and love booze but am okay at exercise mostly.

Oakley02 · 29/03/2016 16:14

Sounds like we have something in common, Furby - only I had my baby 13 yrs ago! I do love to exercise (5 classes a week usually) and have an energetic dog who needs lots of walking but just adore booze and chocs! Usually try to only have the naughty stuff at weekends but this Easter have really pigged out. To be honest I can't afford a whole new wardrobe and it would be lovely to feel better too....

Twinklestar2 · 29/03/2016 16:20

Never too late, Oakley! Join us! Spring is in the air so let that be your motivation. I’m 7lbs heavier than I was this time last year, I was about 3lbs away from my goal – grrrr, why do we sabotage ourselves!

Furbys – It’s so little to lose yet feels so much and so hard!

Thanks, Twinkle - it's always the last few pounds that are most tricky to shift. I have moved all the booze and Easter eggs into the garage so as not to be so tempted. I am really going to try hard - any tips always welcome Grin

readyforsunshine · 29/03/2016 21:30

I chanced a weigh in & am still stable, however have just had a glass of wine & shared an Easter egg Hmm 9lbs to go for me. Just dd & I for a long w/e so will be easier I think. Keep the focus on getting back into those clothes! I have put 2 jars on my kitchen window sill, 1 with lbs to lose & 1 with lbs lost, it does seem to help as a visual reminder. Also a silly thing that I read on another thread, choose somebody you admire, usually famous, then think "what would 'insert name' do?"!!
Daren't tell you who mine isGrin

runningLou · 29/03/2016 21:33

Place marking for tomorrow when I will weigh in and start logging meals ... Had enough of this muffin top!
My worst time of day for diet fails is about 4pm when DC are home from school and I am making them snacks and dinner but I have to wait to eat with DH in what seems like hours! How does everyone else deals with this time slot?

Oakley02 · 29/03/2016 21:49

I buy fresh blueberries, wash and freeze them and find they satisfy my sweet tooth until it's time for dinner. Also works with grapes too. I fill a small ramekin with them and convince myself that I am eating sweets....

Twinklestar2 · 29/03/2016 22:38

I need these damn Easter eggs gone! I'm doing ok during the day then end up eating a bit of chocolate after dinner!!

Hi all. It's good to see how you handled Easter and it's not just me struggling at the moment. I was doing really well until Thursday, and I should have weighed myself then. But four days later I think I'm the fattest I've ever been.

Really struggling to get into clothes, feeling terrible, and I've got a big wedding to go to next week.

I should be doing 30-day shred like crazy, but my motivation has totally gone.

Humph! At least today was a normal day, I was within my cal limit, but no exercise really. Hopefully getting out and about with the dc tomorrow will help me feel better. Just dreading this wedding as will be totally on my lonesome and mega fat 😔

anothermadamebutterfly · 30/03/2016 09:58

Good morning everybody, nice to see all the new faces, welcome everybody! Oakley I had the same reaction when I realised that I was a stone heavier than this time last year, it is shocking! But I have lost a few pounds since then, so there is hope for all of us, and you still have time before the summer comes.

Ribina sorry to hear you are struggling, I know it is not much help, but remember that at a wedding everybody is way too concerned with how the bride looks and how they look themselves, they hardly notice other people. The bride and family just want you to be there to share the moment with them, and will not care whether you are fat or thin or have three eyes or five legs.

I am still fighting off this horrible cold, and I have not been on the scales recently, can I join you fading and twinkle for the weigh-on next Friday? I will probably be about the same as last time, I have not particularly been paying attention to what I have eaten this week, but I think I have managed to not eat too much.

runningLou · 30/03/2016 13:39

Weighed in at 10st 13 this morning - I am 5'7 so this is the top of normal for me. I have been bigger after having DS 4 years ago, but then I lost the weight pretty quickly, and now I find that I need to make a bigger effort for smaller impact (an age thing I think - sigh).
I do lots of exercise as I don't drive so get everywhere on bike/walking. I will do an 8 mile round trip to work/on school run today. I find that the exercise makes me hungrier though, and cycling has given me thunder thighs - I am size 8 on top and size 12 on bottom with big hips so very unbalanced. I would like to slim down my bottom half for summer but am wary of doing anything extreme as I have had very strict diets trigger an ED in the past. I'm not wanting to cut out any food groups or expect very fast losses as I know this messes with my head.
But, I really would like to be under 10 stone to fit into summer clothes.
Also I have 2 x 10k runs coming up and I want to feel like I am not lumbering along self-consciously in my running leggings.

I struggle with good food choices as crave carbs, and also portion sizes.
This is what I have had so far today though as I have said late afternoon is my failure time. Feel free to critique!
Breakfast - 1 small slice rye bread with organic peanut butter, banana
Lunch - portion home-made salmon risotto, Greek yogurt with honey, apple, date/orange fruit bar

AuntieStella · 30/03/2016 13:44

I haven't weighed in, but think things have been going OK over Easter. But then again I was thinking that a week or so ago when it all went in to reverse.

I remain comfy in my smaller size of jeans, so am also clinging to that as a source of optimism. It's Wednesday today, isn't it? I'll see if I can hold off until Friday. I find that if I weigh myself too often, then weight/food become too frequent a thought and ai don't think that helps.

runningLou · 30/03/2016 14:10

That was just a starting weight - won't weigh till next Tuesday now, and will try and weigh weekly on a Tuesday morning. I find if I have a weigh in on Fri/Sat it encourages me into weekend bingeing just after!

Oakley02 · 30/03/2016 16:40

Ribena, agree with Anothermadamebutterfly - noone will be there looking at you in a judgy/bad way at the wedding, they will just be pleased to have your company, you might even enjoy yourself? RunningLou, seriously impressed with your activity and food intake, hope this afternoon has been successful too. My diet proper will start Monday when back at work and Easter grub all gone.

fadingblonde1 · 30/03/2016 22:35

I've managed to stick to 1000 cals today and I'll get weighed on Friday. All the Easter eggs have gone but a friend gave me a box of chocolates today - they're hiding in my car at the moment!

readyforsunshine · 31/03/2016 08:21

I was sooo hungry yesterday, I think it was because I succumbed to toast for bfast. I then had TWO delicious pastrami sandwiches followed by a chunk of Easter egg & a large portion of shepherds pie made with the left over Easter lamb & ANOTHER chunk of Easter egg Shock the carbs seem to set off my hunger, one small person really shouldn't need the huge volume of food that I ate!
Back on the protein today! I'll join you all in the next weigh in please.
ribina enjoy your wedding & the fact that you will be able to hold your drink! I remember having a booze free, clean eating Jan, then attending a friends wedding. got lots of lovely comments about how well I was looking but was hammered after my first glass of fizz! I'd have looked a lot better filling my dress rather too well than the drunk mess I was later that night, drunk is never attractive!

Twinklestar2 · 01/04/2016 08:38

How did the Friday morning weights go? Pleased to report another lb off so 10st 6.

Menu today

Muesli
Salad
Chicken casserole

runningLou · 01/04/2016 08:57

Well done Twinklestar! That's fantastic! Had a bit of a diet fail yesterday due to a friend offering me a chocolate croissant and then doing some baking at home ... Hope I can keep on track today!
Will weigh tomorrow morning after parkrun.
How much muesli do you have, and what do you put in your salad?

AuntieStella · 01/04/2016 09:22

I'm a happy April Fish!

To recap, I was 1lb off my tier 1 target about 10 days ago. Then I plateaued and even went in to reverse (2-3lbs up). But I stuck with it.

And the mysterious rise has mysteriously vanished, and I've lost a further lb. So I'm at my tier 1 target!

(This is actually a danger time, because I have only half a stone to go now, and it's very tempting to coast IYSWIM. I got down to this between DC2 and DC3, but I want to get to my pre-DC weight, which means keep going for a bit longer).

runningLou · 01/04/2016 09:29

Well done Stella that's great - what diet are you following?
