I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

Well that's day one done. Feeling good. My Cambridge consultant won't allow bars for the first few weeks as they have too many carbs in, so just shakes for me. I am super fussy so I only have the chocolate and the mint ones. What time of day to people have theirs? I'm doing Sole source plus, where I have a 200cal meal each day.

Hello hello, I had the chocolate shake at the hairdressers, then the caramel chocolate bar for lunch, and will investigate the pancakes for dinner.

Also managed to trip and fall in the middle of the road outside a posh bridal shop and all these lover ladies came rushing over to see if I was Ok, fortunately yes, ripped the knee of my jeans and my knee, then had to go to the hairdressers - nothing was stopping me getting my roots done. Got home and my knee is a bloody mess - however the rip in my jeans looks IMO quite hip! Have retired to bed - it's a safe place!!!

Have s great day!!

NickNacks · 30/01/2016 16:29

Hey yes I am fine, detol stings like a bugger, but I will be fine!!!

Also the maple pancakes are quite nice, will need to purchase a non stick frying pan, but nearly as bad as o thought they would be!!

browneyedgirl1974 · 30/01/2016 17:40

Ouch plumstone. Take it easy. Well I had exante honeycome shake for breakfast on day 2. Not keen tbh but had spag bol for lunch. Omg it actually tasted good.
Will go easy on the bars in thst case but I guess the meals are just as bad. Shake for dinner. May try mint choc.

browneyedgirl1974 · 30/01/2016 17:41

Also proud as kids had Mcdonalds for lunch and didn't even touch the leftover chips. I can do this.

Lulooo · 31/01/2016 08:10

plumstone I had a similar experience on the way to the hairdressers a few weeks ago when I fell and cut my knees to shreds. Hairdressing trips are lethal.

The only difference is I initially jumped up almost immediatly and carried on walking as I was too embarrassed. But got lots of sympathy and help when I showed off my bloody knees at the hairdressers. Grin

I've kind of used the past two days to ease myself into it, having a mix of shakes and low calorie meals but I'm hoping to start properly today. Will do a shake for breakfast, a soup for lunch, a for tea and some leftover homemade soup for dinner which will be my one proper meal of the day.

plumstone · 31/01/2016 08:39

Lu, that sounds awful, I didn't have the balls to mention it so just flicked magazines and drank coffee - bliss,

This morning I have had the cheese and bacon scone things they were OK, I have a question, is it three per day of any of the packs, eg, scones for breakfast, soup for lunch, and the sweet and sour noodles for dinner - that is today's plan, or should I be sticking to three shakes. Am trying to keep the porridge, shakes and bars to work days, as they are easier to transport and make at work.

Have a great day, I may spend some time picking dried blood off my knee 1 lovely!!

SisterViktorine · 31/01/2016 09:18

I have three of any combination plum, although I am staying off the bars and finding that easier. However, I am also having as much diet coke as I want so I may not be as purist as some!

I have just ordered some extra scones as I rather like them. I make them in a Yorkshire pudding tin rather than a ramekin.

plumstone · 31/01/2016 10:11

Hi Sister, yes the scones were lovely, now with a smear or a cheesy butter they would be outstanding!!!!

I will try and keep the bars for when out and about, I don't drink fizzy juice at all so I guess I will be rock and roll with fizzy water!!!!

browneyedgirl1974 · 31/01/2016 15:25

Interesting about diet coke. I used to live off it but haven't really missed it so far. Although it has zero carbs so should be ok if I cave in. plum I had the mushroom soup and it was nice unlike the veg one whick I threw away.

plumstone · 31/01/2016 19:19

Ok so day two done! Definitely agree with you Brown that the mushroom soup is good, I have the tomato one to try.

Have purchased a non stick frying pan, and have made the blueberry pancakes to take to work for breakfast tomorrow. Usually take breakfast with me so this is fine. Had the sweet and sour noodles for lunch, hmmmm they were edible not something I would rush to have in a restaurant, so God knows what possessed me to have them on this, but hey ho, they did the job!

Had the chocolate shake for dinner, added a teaspoonful of ground coffee and had a cold mocha! I am living on the edge!

Also I know some of you have small people and partners in your life, but as someone who has neither, loving the fast food prep! I love cooking but for one it always seems a hassle, this is great, in that it takes not a lot of time in the kitchen and clearing up is to a minimum!

Lulooo · 31/01/2016 23:14

This is hard. Sad

NickNacks · 31/01/2016 23:20

Being fat is harder lulooo, you can do it! We're all in it together. Flowers

Brown stay off diet coke, although it's zero carb it contains citric acid, which is a huge no-no on vlcd. It can knock you out of ketosis and hamper weight loss.
Coke zero, is allowed.

Luloo, keep at it, the first few days are hard, once your in ketosis things get much easier. Try keeping busy, I have been spring cleaning, keeps me from thinking about food and burns calories, getting you into ketosis quicker!
If you feel hungry drink a pint of water, water consumption is key to surviving those initial few days. You can do this, once you see the weight drop off you will feel great!

toastyarmadillo · 01/02/2016 06:58

I survived restart day one yesterday, kept to shakes, fingers crossed for today. Going to tidy up the house, it always ends up a state over the weekend.

How's everyone doing today? No weekend slips I hope

plumstone · 01/02/2016 08:58

Morning All, Had a sneaky stand on the scales this morning - 3lbs off since Thursday - totally delighted.

Felt so hungry so looked at before and after pics on Youtube - slightly odd admittedly - but so motivational!!! Also gave myself a lovely manicure for the first time in ages, so I have bounced to work with by three pound loss and pretty hands - its going to be a good day.

Blueberry and raspberry pancakes for breakfast - made last night, had them cold - they were fine - made six small ones so it felt like quite a lot to actually eat.

Had a conversation with friend last night, and she las lost 3 stone over the last year doing SW - she said that having a lot of baths helped her with night time nibbling, would spend hours, with bubbles, candles scrubs etc and then would go straight to bed.

browneyedgirl1974 · 01/02/2016 16:46

All good thank you. Actually I felt more hungry when eating regular foods. Must be carbs giving me an appetite. My scales aren't very accurate but scales hovering just under 14 when they were hovering just over so going right way.
DAY 4 nearly over and haven't even missed diet coke.
Just wondering though how do you know you have hit ketosis and how long is it safe to be in ketosis. I understand its 3 weeks and than you add snack for a week and 12 weeks total.

browneyedgirl1974 · 01/02/2016 16:47

Thank you.

plumstone · 01/02/2016 16:54

Brown, I have no idea, and due to the lack of information I got in the box, i am still none the wiser.

I am planning to be on this till the 16th march, I have a work trip then, however will take some bars with be for breakfasts and lunch and go carb free for the dinner, then home for Easter - it will be the cheese board that will be the killer tho not the chocolate!!!

Any who Day 3 almost completed, and home for a hot chocolate and ginger, or possibly a porridge - damn my life is exciting!!!!

browneyedgirl1974 · 01/02/2016 17:02

Think there was an attachment in an email but can't open it. I have à birthday meal to go to at the end of the month so will have to make a sensible choice.

billabye · 02/02/2016 07:25

Just weighed and I've got 15 lbs off in 4 weeks Grin

Lulooo · 02/02/2016 13:59

That's excellent billabye. Go on you!

Thanks for the encouragement , Nicknacks and Toasty. I was feeling so hungry that day and I'd cheated too. I think cheating with a few carbs makes me hungrier and I can handle myself much better if I stay away from unhealthier foods completely. Its my willpower that gets the better of me.

The thing with me is I spend so much of my day focused on food. I cook 1-2 meals a day for the family; I love watching cookery programmes; I love learning new recipes and cooking them for family and friends; I take delight in planning what I'm going to eat and treat myself with foodstuff. This is where I need to change; I need to stop giving it so much importance and focus on other objectives and pleasures in life.

I'm going to use what Nicknacks wrote in response to my post as motivation: Losing weight may be hard but being fatter is harder.

billabye · 02/02/2016 14:40

Lulooo I totally identify with what you're saying. I think about food all the time, cooking, eating, shopping etc

I just tried some of those slim noodles in my oriental chilli soup. They weren't bad at all. Odd texture but added a nice bulk to the soup.

MariaV0nTrapp · 02/02/2016 15:11

Hi! I've done Cambridge in the past. Well I went from a size 22/24 to a 16 in 10 weeks for my wedding 6 years ago then went onto a 10/12 after that. Then in the last 5 years I've had a miscarriage and 3 more babies 2 with slightly traumatic births and I've got anxiety and a whole host of other stuff going on so I've comfort eaten myself to the point that Im a size 20/22 with near on 9st to loose Sad I ordered a load of exante and I'm on day 11, I think, now. I lost 6lbs in my first week and measured yesterday and I've lost so many inches it's unreal... can I join in with the support thread because I really need it!
