I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

Hi everyone. Can I join too please?
I'm shit at this whole weight loss thing. I've started and stopped so many times its ridiculous. I really hope I can stick to it this time.
I have an event on March 5th which is about 5 weeks away. I'm 5'1 and 161lbs of blubber which makes me obese. I want to lose a stone in 5 weeks and I'm hoping that if I can do it, it will motivate me to carry on.
Doing Slim n Save.

billabye · 29/01/2016 08:19

toasty good on you for getting straight back on it. Hopefully you won't have done much damage.

Hi to Luloo and Eddmr Smile

toastyarmadillo · 29/01/2016 08:30

Luton, a stone in 5 weeks should be a walk in the park on a vlcd like slim and save. Just keep chugging down water and once ketosis kicks in its a breeze,I promise.

toastyarmadillo · 29/01/2016 08:32

That was luloo not Luton, bloody autocorrect.

Hi to eddmr as well, which diet are you going to try?

plumstone · 29/01/2016 08:57

Morning All, I have started!!!! Had Raspberry Porridge for breakfast - and it was OK - What may and only may be an issue is that it is oddly sweet - I don't have a sweet tooth at all, chocolate has never been my issue - now cheese and on the other hand..............

Now my light hearted goal - is a stone and a bit off by Easter to ensure jealous glances from my my friends at how svelte and awesome I am looking!!

Serious Goal is to get my BMI into the normal weight range!!!

Currently wearing skinny jeans but only so I can say goodbye to the dough like ring of flab happily residing over my waist band.

Also Have decided on the water thing I will have 2 x half litre bottles in the morning, another 2 in the afternoon and another 2 in the evening. That is 3 litres each day, and in half litre bottles is not nearly as intimidating as 1 2 litre bottle and a 1 litre bottle!!

Have an amazing Friday everyone - will check in later

browneyedgirl1974 · 29/01/2016 09:53

Hi everyone. My pack has just arrived. So I am starting today. Filled up fridge water cooler and waved bye bye to diet coke. Going to try breakfast eggs. Will report back later. Want to lose 2 stone to qualify for an op and be less blobby when we go to disneyland Paris at Easter.

browneyedgirl1974 · 29/01/2016 09:55

Long term need need to lose between 4 and 6 stone in total to get to a health range.

billabye · 29/01/2016 10:37

Hi brown hope your first day goes well. Have you done a VLCD before?

nickdrakeslovechild · 29/01/2016 10:42

Only lost 2lb this week, this damn 3rd week is hard! Hoping for a good one next week as have another 2 stone to lose.

NickNacks · 29/01/2016 11:56

I've been so unwell this week that I wa kind of expecting it tbh. It takes me to a stone lost in 3weeks and so I'm pleased with that.

Hi everyone, can I join in please?

I'm doing Slim & Save with the aim of losing 6ish stone before September

I've done it before, but only for a few weeks, then I gave up! I lost 10lbs in the first week, so that's motivating me (though I don't expect to lose that much this time round!)

Day 1 today, doing okay so far. Dreading the next couple of days but will push through!

Does anyone do much exercise? I know you shouldn't do much what with having so few calories, but I really want to tone whilst losing. I'm planning on using the weights I have at home and weighted hula hoop & squats etc. I also really want to do clubbercise, but would that be too much?

Well done everyone on your losses so far, this thread has really motivated me this morning! :)

Lulooo · 29/01/2016 13:13

CatsAreTwats, I'm on day 1 of SnS too. I've also done it before for a few weeks and given up. My long term goal is to lose 3 stone. Hope to do it by mid June when I go away for a month abroad but I'm concentrating on getting the first stone off my 5th March.

I though I would go easy and not exercise in the first week as I get used to the eating plan. I will try to walk to work and back which is only 15 mins per day in total but is something at least. I have a Fitbit too so will try to get in 8,000 steps per day. Then I'll add 2-3 workouts in week 2. That way I'm not overwhelming myself.

plumstone · 29/01/2016 13:42

Ok, just had the mushroom soup for lunch - its quite nice and tastes a lot creamier that I would have thought.

Now on the subject of mixing the powders, would it be worthwhile buying on of those little hand held milk frothers that you foam milk with when making a latte? I mixed with a fork and it was OK, but I feel it could be better!!!

Also had the white chocolate and raspberry bar for dinner last night - I like it, took quite a while to eat and chew, I may go down this route for dinner so I get the sensation on actually chewing!!!

So far today is good, 1 litre of water down - 2 to go!!!

With regards to exercise, I walk to work and am middle of C25k, will try and keep with the walking to work out may stop the C25K till I am used to this!!!

Lulooo · 29/01/2016 13:48

Plumstone, I have a cup with a lid and shake it like crazy. It did come with a swirly ball whisk thingamajiggy but I don't use it as I cant be arsed pulling it out and washing it etc. What I do sometimes is empty it into a washed glass pasta sauce jar, close the lid and shake it. It gives the same result.

billabye · 29/01/2016 13:51

I'm not an expert but have been advised in the past by Lighter life councilor and Cambridge to be very careful with exercise. Light exercise is ok but during VLCD is not the time to start up strenuous exercise. I think if you want to exercise you should be on one of the higher steps where you take in more calories.

plumstone · 29/01/2016 14:03

Cheers Luloo - I will experiment with the shaker cup and jar with lid.

Billabye - Any excuse to give up exercise is good with me!!!

browneyedgirl1974 · 29/01/2016 15:17

Thank you. No, I have never done a vlcd before. Had breakfast eggs for breakfast. They were just about edible. The toffe caramel shake was nicer but not very filing. I too m wondering about exercise. I am aiming for 7000 steps per day but also go to the gym and I don't really want to stop. Maybe will need to cut down sessions.

billabye · 29/01/2016 16:56

The shakes are nice whizzed up in a blender with a few ice cubes along with the water. It seems to make them thicker and more satisfying.

nickdrakeslovechild · 29/01/2016 20:13

I use one of the protein shakers that my OH has lots of they are like a drinks bottle with a plastic mesh in that mixes it all up nicely. Tried it with ice in a blender and also with the milk frother and prefer the shaker.

SwedeDreams · 29/01/2016 21:40

I have a milk frother thing and it works very well for shakes.

3 and half weeks here and 15lbs down. I finish this phase on weds, as have loads on plus we go away next Sunday! Thank god all my dresses now fit.

I am having a break then back on the packets 1st March to easter Sunday, thats four weeks and ill hope to get another stone off.

My top tip is sugar free jelly, I have them whenever sugar craving is strong!

Lulooo · 29/01/2016 22:17

Swededreams, 15lbs in 3.5 weeks is excellent! Can I ask how much you weighed when you started? Or how much you need to lose?

SwedeDreams · 29/01/2016 22:34

I was 13st 3, now 12st2. Which is much nicer. I am short arse and need to get to nine stone to be a normal weight so I have a long way to go, but hopefully I can do it in chunks without putting on too much in my breaks! Thanks for asking it's such a horrible thing, feel like I have had to be completely obsessed with it in order to stick to it. Mind you I'm like that with easier diets like weight watchers- at least this is quick!

browneyedgirl1974 · 29/01/2016 23:06

thats fab swededream. I would love to lose just over a stone by the end of Feb. I am short too and weigh 14 stone now.
well I survived my 1st day and I don't feel hungry. The bars are quite filling.

SwedeDreams · 30/01/2016 06:40

As others have said, get past day 3 or 4 and it gets easier. After the first week it's a lot easier- I presume because your stomach shrinks?

I found weighing every day helped me, but I know that dosent work for everyone. And reading on here about week three helped me not give up! You can easily do a stone or more by end Feb.

I cracked a few times- but only for one meal, and I got straight back on and was super strict for next couple days and it probably only slowed me a little bit. So even if you do mess up one day its really worth persevering.

Lulooo · 30/01/2016 09:32

I think that's always my biggest downfall. I crack and then I give up and binge. And I also crack too much.

Another short arse here. 5'1.
