I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

Good luck Super and Walk on your first day, hope it goes well.
I agree with NicNacks, get through your first week and you'll feel so different. I've just finished my first week and it's so so much easier.

No news from me, decided to weigh in once a week so resisting the scales :) have a nice day everyone

Superwitchy · 15/03/2016 07:57

Thank you nigel and good luck everyone, have a good day Halo

browneyedgirl1974 · 15/03/2016 09:04

Have a good day everyone. I woke up starving this morning. Just eaten a bar and I am still hungry. Lots of water with ice in order.

plumstone · 15/03/2016 09:05

Agreeing with PPs - it is mind over matter. a week in and a smaller number on the scales will reinforce the mindset!

Have a great day!!!

browneyedgirl1974 · 15/03/2016 20:54

Well had a variation today. Woke up starving so decided to trade my bar and cuppa in subway for a tuna salad. Know it is probably not the best choice but at least it is low carb. It must have filled me up as at 7.30 I realised I hadn't had tea.
so just had a choc orange cookie and off to bed.
Hope you have all had a good day.

WalkWaddleRun · 16/03/2016 06:29

My first day went okay. Had two shakes. Not sure I liked the chocolate much but coconut was great. Had steak and broccoli for dinner so low carb. Didn't think I'd make it with just the shakes yesterday so opted for a light dinner.

WalkWaddleRun · 16/03/2016 06:34

I forgot to ask about about drinks. I definitely didn't drink enough yesterday. Can I drink sugar free squash with this diet or not?

MiniCooperLover · 16/03/2016 06:54

Sorry, no sugar free squash allowed.

WalkWaddleRun · 16/03/2016 07:06

I thought so, sad day. I just hate drinking water. Have made some mint tea for the morning

MiniCooperLover · 16/03/2016 07:22

How about sparkling water with a slice of lemon or lime in it? I don't think the lemons or limes are technically allowed but they can prob sneak through? The water makes a massive difference I think. I've always drunk some but mostly lots of diet coke and I've found it slightly surprisingly easier than I thought I would to chug at least 8 pints. I think it's prob needed to try and avoid awful constipation. Good luck.

hello hello, I'm still alive! Have been crazy busy... Still going on exante - welcome to the newcomers! Just coming up to the end of my 5th week and I have lost a total of 18lbs, yay! Down from 197 to 179. Major goal is to get down to 155, so still a while to go. Can see I might get bored of this in a couple of months, but hoping if I lose 20lbs over the next 2-3 months, I'll be in a good place to move back into low-carb to maintain.

I've struggled this last week in moving back to just 3 packs a day (after the 4th week of including 200 cals of food). I find I'm fine all day until dinner, and I have been having some chicken or similar, when I had planned to have my 3rd shake/bar. Hoping I can wean myself back again and if I do don't think I will do a whole week again like that. on the upside, I'm not craving crap, just a bit of protein when I feel really hungry!

Had a crazy busy couple of weekends, first of which I was surrounded with oodles of cake (major wedding cake in the making) but I got through that great, which is fab as wedding season kicking in and I have a few more of those to get through. I was also surrounded by cake second weekend as I was at a wedding fair, giving out samples, but again no problems, - really happy with that as cake has been the major reason over the last year of most of my huge weight gain.

I did Cambridge a few years ago, along with other total meal replacement diets. You lose weight due to the calorific deficit but ultimately, once you get back to regular eating, its difficult to maintain the weight loss. I have been on so many similar plans and always the same story :(

I have started using a new product thats just launched in the UK, which involves a clean eating plan (no meal replacement shakes) and drops which help to speed up your metabolism, curb your hunger and burn fat.

Each to their own though and I know that people do what makes them happy and what they think works but if anybody does want any information on this plan, give me a shout and good luck with your weight loss journeys guys :)

questions2008 · 16/03/2016 16:46

thanks DSG78 - I've also done VLCD many years ago (and lost 30kgs in 4 months) and yes you're right it's hard to move back to the world of food after it. But statistically, any diet you choose to follow, the majority of people will regain the weight after a year or two of the diet ending.

For me, It's more for a kickstart towards moving (hopefully) towards a better way of eating in general, rather than hoping that I will miraculously stay the same weight once I've lost the desired amount with no further struggles.

Oh man I love a good takeaway haha :) have four inches to lose in bust and six inches waist to get into wedding dress. Current 14 stone. Realistically how long will it take to lose those inches do we think? Lost half inch bust and waist in first week at 6 pounds so in thinking shit will I have to lose four stone to get into dress (never been 10 stone?). It's a size 18 so I thought I'd fit into it after having baby. Was a 12 when I was 12 stone (down below I have massive tits). Thanks x

MiniCooperLover · 17/03/2016 06:49

6lb loss in first week. If I'd stuck rigidly it would be more I guess but I'm still pleased with that!! Will measure and see if I've lost inches later.

MiniCooperLover · 17/03/2016 07:51

1inch loss in all areas that I've measured (bar bust) .. I don't lose weight easily so I'm very pleased with 6lb and those inches.

plumstone · 17/03/2016 08:46

Morning all, yesterday was so hard - no idea why (TOTM is due at the weekend so maybe that) I have been so hungry since Monday - cracked yesterday and had three small pick and mix cheeses form M&S which were absolute bliss and made me feel so much better.

Also went on the website and was planning to get 60 for £60 however was quite miffed that this does not include things like the lasagne, and tuna pasta - was planning to have a couple of weeks with things like that when I was on holiday, ah well back to the drawing board. Was aiming for 10.10 for next Thursday when I go on holiday - was planning to look suitably svelte and fabulous when I arrived, and revel in the amazed faces of family Grin However I have a work dinner tonight, and a pre Easter Lunch on Sunday, so will eat sensibly for both those occasions, and stay on plan the rest of the time. Anything below 11 will be fab, and not to go above 11 by the time I come back is the plan!!!

Have a great day everyone!! xxx

Lovemylittlebears · 17/03/2016 09:17

Well done Mini Cooper x

PayAttentionNigel · 17/03/2016 09:35

Well done Mini! That's really good!

Plum, I think the pastas are weight management stuff, I did see a 25% off those things the other day so that do deals on them sometimes I think.

Afm, feeling quite good actually, have stuck to the diet ridgedly (last week had a couple of slices of cheese one night and small amount of chicken another) but no cheats this week.

Veg, how you doing? Did you manage to start? Hope you're feeling better?

are you finding it easier Questions with the reduced packs now? I'd been wondering if I should do the break week but might just do a long weekend instead, like you I really think I'd struggle to go back.

have a good day everyone :)

plumstone · 17/03/2016 09:46

Mini - sorry - didn't see the loss 6 off is fantastic - well jel!!

Nigel - Yes definitely weight management - I was just hoping that the week of holidays would be easier and less questions if I had something slightly more substantial to eat when with other people.

Its so good when in the zone, that was me for the last two weeks and this week - well thanks goodness I have a busy weekend and tomorrow is Friday

As a by the by has anyone done this or even just a few days on only bars, or only soup or only shakes - I inadvertently had a day on nothing but bars last week - I note what i eat in a note book (OCD again) and definitely feel fuller not sure if this is because of chewing or it actually feels like I am eating something!!!

Does any one loose more if they stick to just liquid products? I have tried this two and don't feel satisfied in any way - best combo I am finding is eggs for breakfast (only at weekends due to cooking facilities at work) then mushroom soup for lunch and then pancakes for dinner - with 4 litres of water I don't feel hungry at all with this

thanks

questions2008 · 17/03/2016 12:29

just a heads up, exante are doing an up to 45% off today for paddy's day - I managed to get 40% off my order (it's random apparently, you apply "saint" at check out and see what you get off, so maybe worth a try if the tuna pasta stuff isn't in the 60 for 60?

I'm down another 1lb, despite still having a little food in the evenings, trying to up my water to see if it helps with not needing that extra bit.

I have only done a combo of bars/shakes, not the food stuff. I like the caramel crunch bar the most. Having said that, the first 4-5 days I did just shakes, and that's when I saw the biggest drop, but that's when you'd expect the biggest drop so can't really it was because of having just shakes.

PayAttentionNigel · 17/03/2016 20:24

Thanks for that Questions, just ordered another months worth, I'll have to stick to it now :)

MiniCooperLover · 18/03/2016 07:27

Thanks all. Lost another 2lb overnight so am 12st something for the first time in a while hurrah ... So 8lb in a week and a day. Thrilled

MiniCooperLover · 18/03/2016 07:28

Plumstone, I find the bars much more filling than anything else, they can see me through breakfast till about 1pm without too much issue. I need to restock actually.
