I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

Helen - check out Exante - they have stuff on offer 70 items for £60 or something like that, works out as 85p an item I think!!!

helenahandbag · 16/02/2016 12:33

I hate Exante, I'm afraid to say! Literally only like the chocolate shake and gooey chocolate pudding, everything else makes me heave. I did like the mint choc shake but they changed the recipe (which they confirmed when I emailed them) and it's horrible now. Also, the carb count is higher than Cambridge and SnS so I never got into ketosis on Exante Sad

plumstone · 16/02/2016 12:54

Ah in that case don't waster your money!!! The puddings are the one things I am not willing to try - I don't particularly like puddings and never eat them, the ones on here would be a total waste of money for me!!!

Weird that we all have such different tastes - boring if we were all the same.

I have ketosis sticks that I pee on (TMI) every few days, and they have definitely gone a darker shade, not as dark as they could but definitely more of a purple than their original cream shade.

After two weeks, I am feeling so much better than I was this time last week. Have a drinks event tonight - however as I am recovering from my cold I will stick to sparkling water and my usual "don't drink on a "school" night" excuse - no ever really questions it, however Easter holidays may be a whole different equation. As long as I have another 14 pounds off though I will be happy to take the hit! Grin

helenahandbag · 16/02/2016 13:25

I did have ketostix but DP did atkins for a while and used one every single time he peed so they're all gone Angry

I've just had a coffee and a caramel bar (which was delicious!) a bit earlier than I would have liked but I'm in a meeting 2-4pm. I'll have a cookies and cream shake around 4.30, college is 6-9pm and then home for an omelette and an early night!

plumstone · 16/02/2016 13:44

Get your DP with that - my flat mate became obsessed with them ages ago - we had a couple of boxes in the bathroom - and every time she peed had to check!!!!

Caramel bars are lovely - not keen on the double chocolate - they are fine but bloody hard work to get through!

Enjoy the early night - I have one planned for tomorrow!!

questions2008 · 16/02/2016 21:45

I need to dig out my sticks, had some when I was low carbing...my mouth does have a metallic taste to it but not really strong.

Hmmm, I ate a 4 th "meal" today, don't feel great about it, but it's not the end of the world.

browneyedgirl1974 · 17/02/2016 01:57

I messed up today (yesterday) too. Took children out for a supermarket tea. Youngest ate hardly anything so I polished off a kids burger and a few chips. Not worried though as slighly dodgy scales are hovering around 13 stone and when I started they were hovering around the 14 stone mark. I just need to stick to it until the end of the month and I will than have a day off as I have sil birthday meal to go to.

helenahandbag · 17/02/2016 09:26

I've lost 4lbs of water overnight which I really wasn't expecting! Down from 14st 2.5 to 13st 12.5. Another 3lbs will put me back at my lowest from a few weeks ago so I'm hoping to get back there by weigh in on Tuesday Smile

browneyedgirl1974 · 17/02/2016 11:56

Fab helen

plumstone · 17/02/2016 12:11

Get in Helen!!!! A lower number at the start is always good!!!!!

questions2008 · 17/02/2016 12:46

Brilliant helen you've broken into 13!

Ahh browneyed wish I had your attitude, I'm the kind that packs it all in if I mess up! Need to get a handle on that, I'm very much either in control or not. Haven't found a middle ground.

Pee'd on a stick, although not the first thing in the morning, and came out in the middle, so not that strong. Haven't moved on weight last couple of days.

helenahandbag · 17/02/2016 12:51

I wouldn't worry too much about the ketostix as apparently they only go dark pink if you're not drinking enough water. If you're hydrated then it'll show somewhere in the middle.

questions2008 · 17/02/2016 12:56

good to know helen! I'm easily downing 5ltrs a day so I think that makes me well hydrated Grin

browneyedgirl1974 · 17/02/2016 19:01

question normally I am the one think well I blown it so I might as well carry on eating. For some reason I feel different this time. Party I think as I have to lose weight for surgery and also because I can see real results. I actuslly tried some size sixteen jeans on today and they fit. I haven't been that size for about 10 years. Although tbf I did lose some weight after the birth of my youngest and lost about 1/2 stone in the last 4 months or so. But about a stone in less than 3 weeks is amazing.

questions2008 · 19/02/2016 11:18

it's great browneyed when you get in the zone! and fab news about the jeans. I haven't worn jeans or trousers in years as I have serious thunder thighs, that's the last place the weight comes off which is why I need to get on the treadmill soon! Blush

OK so weigh in today says I am 85.8kg, a total loss in 8 days of just under 4kgs or 8 lbs exactly. My clothes are not so tight but last 3/4 days I have felt a bit "bloated" due to funny tummy rumblings and goings on, anyone else experienced that? I am going to the toilet, although it's sometimes bordering on diarrhoea.

Another win this week, is that I baked some cake and did not even consider tasting it at any point!

questions2008 · 19/02/2016 11:19

Oh and I have 2 packs of Orange & Pineapple (Exante) that I don't want if anyone wants them, happy to post? Too sickly for me!

browneyedgirl1974 · 19/02/2016 13:22

Thanks question and well done on your loss. I have another question. I am on week 4 of exante and they recommend adding at least 200 calories of real food for week 4. I haven't a clue what to have except avoiding obvious carbs. Had some chicken and grapes so far. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you

browneyedgirl1974 · 19/02/2016 13:24

I have what I call farmer legs but live in trousers and jeans.

questions2008 · 19/02/2016 13:35

I would suggest making those 200 Cals low carb, definitely no fruit! Stick to protein and green veg like brocolli green beans etc.

plumstone · 19/02/2016 13:49

Hey Browney - I start week 4 on Monday and have decided to do the following:

Breakfast - Exante Porridge + banana
Lunch - Exante soup - and some sliced ham
Dinner - Exante pasta/noodles/spag bol and small salad

not sure if this is 200 or more, I am actually quite nervous about this - I like the not worrying and just knowing that one pack of whatever is the right amount and all the counting etc is done for me!!!

Good luck!!

questions2008 · 19/02/2016 14:06

Plums tone I would swap banana with berries if you want fruit with porridge. But ham and salad sounds great.

plumstone · 19/02/2016 14:33

Berries it shall be!! :)

NickNacks · 19/02/2016 14:38

Hi all! Great to see everyone is still on board and still determined.

My weigh in number 6 and I lost 4lb. Total 24.4lb 😬

So proud of you all, keep going!!

Great work nick. Well I need to go shopping. House is full of carbs.

questions2008 · 21/02/2016 17:21

Inspiring Nick! Determined to get there too!

A busy weekend here, surrounded by all sorts of yumminess, think Nutella, white choc ganache, oodles of cake and even the fruit was staring at me! But I actually did not struggle, I must be in the zone! Woo, gives me hope I can get through March when there'll be even more of this going on.

How's everyone's weekend been?
