I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

On Exante if you catch the 100 for 85 deal it's £2.55 a day.

Pinkster007 · 06/02/2016 16:17

Hi all :)
I have been reading every single thread for weeks on exante and stumbled across this one which was the most current and active :) may I join you all ? Just need a few friends to keep me going ! I'm currently day 5 , second restart this time is my last ! If i can't do it this time I think I'm going to just boil my head and live in darkness for eternity 😂 well done to all the ladies so far losing on this thread ! You lot have kept me going even if you didn't know it ! I'm a daily weigher and trying not to 😯 I was 7lb down this morning and determined to be a loser !!!!!

browneyedgirl1974 · 06/02/2016 19:50

100 for 85 finished but they are doing 60 for 60 which is still good value. I think you can follow different plans and some involve regular foods too. I think with Cambridge you pay more as you have a mentor and weigh ins so I guess it depends what you arr looking for.
.Hi pink. 7lb down on day 5 is brilliant.

plumstone · 06/02/2016 20:39

Evening all, 7lbs is awesome! Well done. I will weigh in on Monday, totally forgot yesterday, and had a porridge this morning, before I remembered.

Am really struggling to drink water at the weekend, at work it's fine but today not so much. Did have a fairly productive afternoon, decluttering my wardrobes - anything to distract!!

Pinkster007 · 07/02/2016 14:55

Just went to hospital to see my dad who's had a heart attack Friday night Confused I pulled out a exante bar cos it was dinner time and I was hungry Smile my dad actually had the cheek to say "that can be healthy for you" so I replied "if you'd of had a few of these then you probably wouldn't be lying there in that bed "GrinGrinharsh ... Yes but true as he's overweight ! Anyway he couldn't answer me back cos he knew I was right lol ! Anyway weigh tomorrow still 7lb down drinking all the water and not picking ! Exante is going good :) how about you ladies ?

plumstone · 08/02/2016 08:52

Well 5 lbs down this morning, so very pleased with that in a week of doing it properly, with no cheating!!

If I can keep with a 3-5 loss each week I will be delighted.

Hi Loops - I bought the 100 for £85 which seems to have finished now. I was a bit dubious about the flavours as I don't have a sweet tooth, but the thought of loosing weight and wearing smaller clothes appeals more!! They are not as bad as I thought they were going to be.

My plan after speaking to my doctor, is to do this for 4 weeks, which is based on 3 packs a day, 84 packs. I will then have a think, and will probably keep with the soups for lunch - I actually like them, but would probably add in a banana and an apple. Things like the scones and the pancakes I like for the weekend, and the bars are great if out at lunch time or working late.

Have a great day/week xoxo

browneyedgirl1974 · 08/02/2016 09:11

Brilliant plumbstone.

helenahandbag · 08/02/2016 09:53

Hi everyone, I've tried meal replacement a few times and never managed to stick it. I love the Cambridge products but unfortunately I just can't afford the plan at the moment as I'm getting married in April and my car has started pissing around a month before MOT is due Angry

I have loads of CWP/Slim and Save/Exante packs in the house so I'm going to do a mish-mash of the plans with what I have left, plus a low carb meal in the evening as I've suffered with binges/bulimia in the past and TFR doesn't work for me. I lost 9lbs in a week on CWP step 2 before so I know I can make a dent in my weight in the ten weeks before my wedding - I just have to stick to it! Blush

plumstone · 08/02/2016 11:10

Thanks Browney and in the dimmed light that was my bedroom this morning - I may have caught a glimpse of collar bone - could have been a shadow, but I definitely feel by face is less rotund!! Probably due to the water I am consuming!!!

Helen - the thought of a wedding dress would be enough to make me do whatever it took to look good in pictures that will be around forever!!! - Congrats BTW!!

helenahandbag · 08/02/2016 11:24

plumstone

I've been eating healthily and going to the gym and I managed to shift a stone in a few weeks but I've been messing around with it the past couple of weeks, can't get back on the wagon and I just don't have time for this anymore! Unfortunately meal replacement isn't something I can do long term because the urge to binge overwhelms me, but I'll be happy if I can even shift another stone.

plumstone · 08/02/2016 11:41

I hear you - The thought of never having a pizza again can bring me out in a cold sweat - I am doing baby steps:

Get BMI into healthy range
Lower my cholesterol (got a shock when I was told it was high)
Get into a pattern so I loose every week till I am at goal - 9.7 - I look good at 10 but need a buffer to allow for "Pizza Friday" and life!
Learn how to maintain and start to incorporate exercises

I love a binge - but have to learn that my health doesn't! ( cholesterol way too high - got tested last week and between that and my weight, the doctor wasn't kidding when she said I am overweight and border line T2 diabetes) The shock and mortification I felt have really underlined that I need to have a really hard three months, and then reeducate myself, I always dieted for vanity - this is now not the case!

Have you tried talking to a doctor about the binging? xx

helenahandbag · 08/02/2016 11:49

Yeah, I was referred for therapy a few years ago but I switched from shift work to 9-5 so I couldn't make my appointments. I went back to the doctor a few months ago and she referred me to the local NHS weight loss thing but again, it was during work hours and I can't just leave in the middle of the day.

I recently had a whole battery of tests done and I'm a picture of health. "Perfect" cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugars. No thyroid issues, every level of everything exactly as it should be. I'm 13st 12 at 5' 5, very active, I don't look as heavy as I am and medically I'm fine but I want to feel fitter and more confident for myself.

browneyedgirl1974 · 09/02/2016 10:34

I have found it easier to not binge with meal replacements. I know I can have 3 and have been sticking to it. With food In be good all day and than mess up and think why bother and binge. Hence losing weight has been hard.
I had no help from the NHS in our area. Thry do a scheme with Slimming World for people on free prescriptions. I asked 3 separate doctors for help and each time I was essentially fobbed off. The last one told me to make an appointment with the only nurse at the surgery I hate.
Yet they are fine with vlcd.

brummiesue · 09/02/2016 10:45

Posted separately but looks like everyone is on this thread, started today, 2 stone to loseShock can we have sugar free mints??

questions2008 · 10/02/2016 00:30

Hello! I'm just popping my head in as I've ordered a month's supply of exante which should arrive tomorrow. (Btw, there's a 25% discount code "sam25" which used last night).

After having successfully LC-ed my way from 83kg to 72kg in 3 months, I have managed to put on and more in the proceeding 18 months or so. I love LC, but I've reAched the point where I'm not motivated long enough to stick with, due to feeling and being so overweight! Vicious cycle I know! So I'm going to do VLCd which is how I lost weight very many years ago. Anyway, enough of my potted history of weight loss and weight gain! I'm resigning myself to the fact that it's an ongoing never ending battle, sometimes won sometimes lost, but haven't given up fighting yet! 😁

Don't know what I weigh currently as have been too disgusted to step on scales, but as soon as I can start on the shakes will weigh in and face up to it.

plumstone · 10/02/2016 08:39

Morning all, today is a good day - after taking myself to bed to avoid everyone in my flat making pancakes - I know there are pancakes in the exact diet, but have had them most days and needed a break!! - I got dressed this morning and a pair of trousers which were a Next 14 and fitted, but were "snug" and a tad tight all over, now are needing a belt, and are somewhat baggy with a pair of heels for work make my legs seem quite long (well I think they do) also the top I am wearing is looking like I wanted it to when I bought it 6 months ago!!! Wont stand on the scales till Friday - but very excited about hopefully being in the next stone!!!

questions2008 · 10/02/2016 12:32

hi plum - sounds like a great day! Too tight clothes are the worst, and that currently applies to the majority of my wardrobe.

I've literally just received my shakes/bars and I'm digging into the choc and mint for a belated breakfast. Didn't weigh this morning as I wasn't sure when they were arriving, but also have only had black coffee in case they did, so it starts today! Will weigh in tomorrow.

plumstone · 10/02/2016 13:05

Hey Question - it is I am so happy and concentrating on my posture so I am not hunched over my desk, but sitting up nice and straight.

As well as weighing, I also took a tape measure as seeing that shrinking is super motivating!! have got from 31.5 to just under 29 since 1st Feb.

Don't expect that to reduce as quick, but as long as the numbers drop I don't really care!!

brummiesue · 10/02/2016 13:32

This is prob a stupid question but can you have the meals for lunch and dinner? Soups are not enough at lunchtime to last until dinner!

plumstone · 10/02/2016 13:45

I tend to keep quite "traditional" porridge through the week for breakfasts (pancakes or scones) at the weekend. Then a soup for lunch, and once I finish the obscene number of pancake packs it will be a meal for dinner. I tend to keep the bars if I am working late, or on the move at lunch time!!!

questions2008 · 10/02/2016 13:53

I'm not on CWP per se, but I imagine the same guidelines of VLCD in general apply - it depends on how many total calories you want to be consuming per day. Initially, it's best to do at least 4 weeks of around 600 cals, so I imagine that's 3 packs/meals per day. Not sure what each meal/shake in CWP contains in calories, do they specify on the packs?

plumstone · 10/02/2016 15:52

Each is about 200/210 calories so about 230 a day or so.

browneyedgirl1974 · 10/02/2016 20:53

Hi. Welcome to new members. No idea re sugar free mints.
I had a shake for breakfast, pasta carbonarra for lunch and a bar this evening. Love the bars. Wish I bought more of them. Unfortunately ate early when I cooked kids tea and now I am starving.
Had a little bit more enery at the gym today and did a sneaky weigh in. Down 3lb since Friday.
Interesting re the 600 calorie thing. On the exante website it suggests having an extra 200 calories for 3 week of 4. Not sure if this is necessary.

Lulooo · 10/02/2016 21:37

Hi all,
Checking in. I have found this so hard. I crave bread more than anything else and although I am only on week 2, I have given in on 3 nights out of 4 this week and that is definitely not good. I had 1200 calories on one day and 1600 calories on the other. And today I had a slice of toasted buttered muffin. I really need to pull my socks up.
Week 1 was okay; I lost 5lbs so was happy. I wanted more but then I'm just being greedy. Not looking forward to this week's weight in. I'm thinking of compensating by adding a bit of exercise but I think will barely make a dent on the scales.
Ah well. Try again tomorrow.

plumstone · 11/02/2016 08:41

Stick in Lulooo - it is hard, but think positive and long term - I was out taken out for an unexpected dinner last night, after mild panic had a "skinny" burger with side salad and sparkling water. Life happens and there is no point in getting depressed. I am focussing on today - which will be good. Want 2 stone off for Easter, and there will be times when I am going to have to break from the plan, but 99% of the time I am all over it. I want to be slim more that fat which I keep telling myself, also being slightly Scrooge like, It will annoy me if I have spent all that money and I have no results to show for it!!!
