Can't believe we've had to start a new thread already!

I'm on plan today and feeling good about it, this weight will go down! Still 10'13 this morning, not too disappointed. Hoping it'll go down with a good sleep or two over the weekend!

Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly Jonty. Hope it doesn't develop into anything more. That baby of yours had better let you sleep this evening.

Oooh, silent witness. I like a good crime.

JontyDoggle37 · 12/01/2016 21:10

Thanks Bath. Heading to bed now. I think husband will pick up one of the night feeds, he's really good. He doesn't usually do the middle of the night ones because he has epilepsy and too many broken nights affect how his meds work, but one night won't hurt. By the way, he's been on MFP for a week now, is finding it pretty easy and has lost 3lbs! So pleased for him.

Not2bObvious · 13/01/2016 06:01

Poor jonty, you've had a bad run the last few weeks, hopefully it's not anything that will take you down - but even if you feel ok today, try take it as easy as possible, you do an awful lot an awful lot of the time. 3lb off for your dh, that's great. I think I'd kiss the scales if it told me that at this stage😁 I ate rings around myself last night, total sod it humour. But thanks to a light breakfast/lunch, I was around maintenance cals. Breakfast will be porridge, lunch is salad with bacon & egg mayo (on the basis that while egg may calorific, it's yummy & fills me up), dinner undecided yet. I guess I'll see what cals that little lot adds up to and see what I've left.
Meant to say well done thankful on the 2lb down, super start 🌟

JontyDoggle37 · 13/01/2016 07:16

Morning all. V sore and swollen throat today and headache so having an easier day. Actually got 6 hours uninterrupted sleep though, until my throat woke me up at 4. Scales say I'm up 0.25lbs on yesterday, which should just be bloat but is annoying. The problem at the moment too is I'm probably putting on muscle mass, so while the fat is going down, the weight is a bit unpredictable. Goal is five pounds away, will have to evaluate when i get there, as at the moment I still have a spare tyre round my middle when I sit down! Although at 5'9, I can't go much lower than 9st 12 before I start hitting unhealthy BMI. I'm doing as much toning as I can too. Have a good day all.

MustBeThin · 13/01/2016 09:37

Get well soon Jonty

Weighed in this morning, still 13st 1 which I was surprised at because I feel a little bloated, probably from the lasagne and garlic bread. I wasn't hungry for my tea last night so at 9pm I just had a cuppa and 2 Jaffa Cakes as I felt like having something sweet. I still can't believe I've lost 6lb tbh, everytime I get on the scales I keep thinking it's going to display 13st 7.

Bathsheba3 · 13/01/2016 11:08

Poor throat Jonty, but glad you got a decent sleep.

I keep thinking sod it too at the moment Not2b. Very annoying. But it is always after dinner in the evening, when I sit down to relax & watch tv.

Just been for a run with the dog. No major distance, but good to get going again. My goal is to be a toned twelve rather than a flabby fourteen.

We're skiing in Easter Holidays. Last year I was over 13 stone. Struggled big time, as well as not having any clothes that fit, felt really fat & frumpy, and had to buy bigger ski trousers. Determined this year to have a better time.

Never thought I would reach the 11's again. Stick with it Must. You'll get there too!

Not2bObvious · 13/01/2016 12:50

6lb off is fantastic must! Bath I am a walking disaster at the moment. I've put away quite a number of biscuits this morning, and I've had to have a stern word with myself -thank god I'm on my own today, it was quite a talking to 😉 All is not lost, I have time to reel it back in before my Friday weigh in. Last week I was 11.12.8, I'm not expecting much - I would be happy to stay the same considering my behaviour. Hope you're on the mend jontyFlowers

Bathsheba3 · 13/01/2016 14:23

Shame Not2b. Sorry to hear that. Any particular reason? Anything troubling you? Very happy to lend an ear if you need one.

What I will say is having done so well to get into the 11's, be strong over the next few days so you don't head back up to 12's. It will be very de-motivating. Weighing in at the 11's on Friday will give you far more satisfaction than any more biscuits.

It is bloody hard all this MFP stuff, when natural default is to head for the biscuit tin. But even 1 lb is A LOT to loose. And requires a change in mindset, hard work and determination. You, me, we CAN do this. shutup Bath, stop lecturing

Bathsheba3 · 13/01/2016 14:24

and sit down and concentrate on your work, rather than procrastinating MFP is my new biscuit tin, can you tell?

Bathsheba3 · 13/01/2016 14:24

that comment was note to self btw

Not2bObvious · 13/01/2016 15:03

No good reasons bath, had a few frustrating work things yesterday that made me fall into old ways, and dh was too willing to go buy goodies. Today, well there were biscuits there from yesterday and I snaffled them😞 I feel fatter, I'm wearing a top I haven't worn in ages, it hasn't been loose in a long time and it still isn't! Just a reminder that I can't take my eye off the ball.

twinkle183 · 13/01/2016 15:36

Morning all just up from my second night shift and had a sneaky weigh in but really weigh in is on Friday... I have lost another kg which is fab... I usually struggle with nights but am feel not as tired as usual... Last nightshift tonight, hoping to be able to stay up tomorrow and then go to be early!!!

What do people do for a living??? Well done on the weight loss.... Fabulous work!!! I can't have biscuits in the house especially Jaffa cakes cos the whole box would be gone in one sitting!!!! Shock going to reintroduce exercise next week as I am on days... Yay Smile xxx

Keep going girls!!! And don't worry about the set backs they are in the past and "just keep moving forward!" As it says in my kids favourite film at the moment!! SmileGrin

Bathsheba3 · 13/01/2016 22:19

Hats off to you twinkle - keep it up and the 1kg may be more than just the one. Must be so hard working nights & not to hit the sugar the whole to stay awake when your body needs to sleep. And managing nightshifts with DC's and a family to run too.

I actually do have biscuits in the house at the moment, including jaffa cakes! Apart from Saturday when I ate too much finished the twix's I'm just able to resist. A huge just though. The lure of size 12 trousers is greater than the pull of chocolate at the moment. Long may it last.

Hope everyone are OK. And that Jonty gets another big sleep. Poor Jonty (& poor Mr Jonty too with his condition. That must be tough. None of us seem to have a "straight forward" life, if there is such a thing?)

Bathsheba3 · 14/01/2016 08:06

Rather surprised at another 1/2 lb off today. So down to 11 10. Wasn't expecting that. Really hope I don't ruin it all over the weekend, which seems to be my downfall.

Hope everyone else are OK.

JontyDoggle37 · 14/01/2016 08:33

Morning all. Ended up being really very ill yesterday and DH had to come home from work to look after baby as I didn't feel safe - feeling faint, sick, all joints hurt and pounding head. Feeling better this morning though still very sore throat and had a high fever all night. Haven't weighed this morning because I slept til 7.15 (Yey!) and DH brought me a coffee in bed, bless him.
Well done Bath on the extra loss!
Twinkle you asked what we all do - I'm in the midst of starting my own company, though it's slow going at the moment between baby illness and my illness!

Bathsheba3 · 14/01/2016 09:54

Poor you Jonty. Sounds like proper flu, which is very nasty when it strikes. You need to stay in bed / rest if you can.

Not2bObvious · 14/01/2016 10:01

Poor you jonty, but hurrah for the lie in (I wake every day @5am so 7.15 sounds decadent!) Goes to show you really did need to rest if you felt like that.
Brilliant bath! I was 11.12.8 today so even a smidge below that tomorrow would be great as I have been so bold the last week. Weekends are a disaster for me too, much do better. I'm doing office mgmt & accounts at the min twinkle but only for a few months. I'm an IT geek normally 😩

MustBeThin · 14/01/2016 10:11

Well done on the loss Bath and glad to see you got to sleep in a little Jonty

Pretty annoyed this morning 1lb up 13st 2 Hmm hope it's a little bloat but I don't feel bloated. The only day I've been bad was lasagne day but I only ate half a banana and a cup of tea and jaffa's for the rest of the day. I only had 1026 calories yesterday.
Maybe it's because I'm due TOM, was my last day taking the pill yesterday.

Testarossa1 · 14/01/2016 15:37

Have failed miserably today, had porridge and 2 slices of toast for breakfast, then soup and a ham sandwich, yoghurt and fruit for lunch, then this afternoon have snacked on hula hoops, crackers and a laughing cow triangle and a snack a jack. Only 175 calories left for tea. Feel bad now, worst of it is I knew I wasn't really hungry....

Thankfulforeveryday · 14/01/2016 15:46

So my 7 course dinner was amazing!! Anyway back on it now after that blow out! I got my fat % done at the gym again today, I was 37.7% 6 weeks ago and now I'm down to 30%!! So mega chuffed with that. Been to 3-4 classes a week so it's starting to pay off at last. Albeit body combat is a killer Shock
I don't normally work as I took early retirement from the police when I got my stage 4 cancer, so it's been a huge lifestyle change, which is why I got fat!!! I do help out in my sisters cake shop occasionally though which is torturous looking at cake all day!!!
Glad your feeling better jonty. Well done everyone with their loses its so encouraging.

Not2bObvious · 14/01/2016 17:33

Sounds like the carbs got you Testa, put it behind you and if you're not too hungry maybe a 2 egg omelette for dinner & then close the kitchen?
Thankful that fat % loss is incredible! I had been doing 3 boot camp sessions but I was ruining it by my eating. Really tough and I eventually couldn't take the lack of results coupled with the agony - I still have a few classes left to take...next month 😁 I don't think I could help out in a cake shop, you're double hard 😉

twinkle183 · 14/01/2016 17:57

So NOT ashamed to admit that I have had a complete blow out this evening... And ate everything insight plus ordered dominos pizza..... I know this sounds mental but it has made my cold feel better xxxx will hop back on the wagon again tomorrow X

JontyDoggle37 · 14/01/2016 18:26

twinkle that's the good thing about MFP - every day is a new start. Enjoy the pizza!😄

twinkle183 · 14/01/2016 19:23

I have lost 6lbs over two weeks so hoping this blow out will keep me going... Have been super good so back on the wagon tomorrow xxx

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 14/01/2016 19:41

I'm resurfacing after Christmas + exam period (last exam of the semester tomorrow morning, so about to head to bed). Smile I'm sure I'll trawl recent pages to be nosy sometime soon!

I'm still hovering around 10st 3, which I think is what I've more or less been since the end of November. I'm back on it now though. Want to get consistently under 10st by March, anyway, which should be quite doable. Then I'll try to keep motivation up to make it down to 9-9.5st as quickly as possible so I can finally buy some 'final weight' clothes (since that's my current predicted final weight, but we'll see how I look).

Just thought I'd post again to 'commit' as it were. Grin
