Can't believe we've had to start a new thread already!

I'm on plan today and feeling good about it, this weight will go down! Still 10'13 this morning, not too disappointed. Hoping it'll go down with a good sleep or two over the weekend!

Wow Jonty! Well done that's brilliant!
No whoosh here. Up a lb to 10st 7.5!

A soup day planned Smile

Not2bObvious · 03/01/2016 09:34

That's brilliant Jonty! No stopping you now. I ate too much yesterday but no chocolate at least, had a few glasses of wine last night when I eventually got around to watching 'And then there were none', all I can say is Aidan Turner, phoarrrrr. Not feeling too delicate this morning as had a surprisingly decent sleep. Have to get it together today!!!

MustBeThin · 03/01/2016 09:53

Hello everyone waves I've been stalking these threads for the last week or so, I've read all 3 and it took forever. Shock You've all done brilliant, I can't believe how much weight you've all lost so I'm hoping you'll let me join? I won't be starting my diet until tomorrow when I'm able to do my food shop.
I hesitantly got onto my scales with my hands over my eyes and when I looked at the little number my fat ass weighed 13st 7 at 5ft 5, while that sucks I was the exact same weight when I had my pill check at the beginning of November so I've put no weight on over Xmas.
I'm hoping to get into the 11's at least but my first target will be getting into the 12's. I've never been successful with a diet, after losing a few pounds I give up and eat chocolate but I'm feeling really motivated this time. I've ordered 2 of those Brita water filter bottle things from amazon which will be arriving today to encourage me to drink more, I currently never drink any water unless it has dilute pop in it.Confused
Tea time should be easy ish because I usually plan what I'm having in advance because I go to the butchers every Monday. For breakfast I'm thinking a slice of brown toast with some cheese spread, dinner brown toast with egg poached/scrambled or soup does this seem ok?
What does everyone have snack wise? I'm not one of those raw veggy eaters, I can't stand raw carrots?

Sorry for the rambling post! I'm pretty excited tbh, hoping to be slimmer for summer. Off to download MFP to see how many calories I'll be allowed.

Not2bObvious · 03/01/2016 10:02

Welcome Must - delighted to have you here. With regard to diet or diet food, personally I try to eat what I like (trying to like less chocolate & crisps of course 😉) but just less of it. I find bread isn't something I can eat a lot of, although I don't cut it out, I try for 1 instead of 2 slices. Apart from low fat or skimmed milk - as I don't like full fat - I don't do low fat, I didn't like light mayo or butter so I don't have mayo and I measure out my butter. Know your portions, that's key. Now snacking, hmmm. If you can, and this is fantastic if you can do it - Don't. If you can get out of or at least reduce snacking, combining with reducing portion sizes, you can't help but lose, especially in your case as you had no gains over Christmas, you mustn't have been overeating, just eating enough to maintain.
I hope that helps 😁

MustBeThin · 03/01/2016 11:06

I'm hoping I can lose weight. Thing is I've been around 13st 4-7 for the last 2-3 years so that's really like I'm maintaining my weight isn't it even though I haven't really been watching what I eat. I probably pig out a bit less than I used too but meal wise I don't eat food that's that bad I don't think. I suppose all will be revealed when I log into MFP. A usual day is a slice of white toast and tea 2 sugars for breakfast, dinner some sort of sandwich on white or egg on toast, afternoon I'll probably have a cuppa and two biscuits (usually Jaffa Cakes if I'm being good lol) then tea I have homemade food, something like Chilli, Curry, Beef Bourguignon. For rice I used those boil in a bag in the orange box coz OH doesn't like rice so I just make it for myself (I presume one bag is a proper portion size but i probably dont eat half of it) then I'll probably have a choc bar at night.

Not including the snacks is it that bad? Some weeks I'll have a McDonald's or chippy tea but otherwise the above is a typical day I don't drink unless its a weekend and I might have a couple of malibu and pineapple or JD and coke.

I have been eating crap over Xmas but I've been more aware and not pigging out as much as usual because I didn't want to shift an extra load of weight in January. I have been eating shortbread which I know is full of calories. hangs head in shame

IMustEatMoreVeg · 03/01/2016 11:07

Hi Must. I basically don't snack because I am on 1200 calories and I just don't have enough for snacks as well! I eat whatever I like but one of my early rules for myself was to avoid diet food so I have full fat milk and yoghurt.

IMustEatMoreVeg · 03/01/2016 11:10

Must you definitely can lose weight. What calories are you aiming for daily?

MustBeThin · 03/01/2016 11:20

Not sure yet imust going to set MFP up in a little while, probably aiming for 1-2 lbs off a week.

I will try to avoid snacks I suppose I'll put in what I plan to eat for the day and see what calories are left and if I get peckish have a banana or something shrugs

My water bottles arrived Grin I only ordered them yesterday on free 3-5 day delivery and they came a little while ago. Glad I can start drinking more water from day one of my new healthy lifestyle.

Emz449 · 03/01/2016 11:36

Well done Jonty! What a whoosh! You must be thrilled Grin

Jumped on the scales this morning and no gain! I couldn't believe it. I do feel VERY bloated and sluggish though. Looking forward to going back to my relatively healthy way of eating from tomorrow so that I feel brighter.

Heading back to Bristol today but I'm meeting my boyfriend for an early dinner at Cau the steak place before I set off which should be great! Bloody love steak. It won't be a healthy meal but it will be my last of the day because of travelling. The train takes 4 hours

I've decided that while I'm still going to be tracking with you all, the fitness side of things will be my main goal. I'm slim but I'm wobbly and I don't want to be. Especially when I'm going to be in Brazil! I can only imagine the bodies! Forked out on a bloody expensive pair of Nike trainers yesterday which should be arriving soon so I'll start pounding the pavements shortly Smile

Right just set it up! I put in lose 1lbs a week and it says I should it 1500 calories 😕 do you think I should drop it and loose more?
Also if I have weetabix I presume I have to add milk as a separate item?

CortisolandCaffeine · 03/01/2016 11:44

I hadn't been adding milk in the past but I properly tracked it yesterday and it's quite an eye opener. A "small splash" in coffee was actually nearly 50ml. I would say definitely count the milk.
I wouldn't reduce your calories more though.

IMustEatMoreVeg thanks - my name pretty much reflects my life. Although usually it should be CortisolandCaffeineandWine!

I did manage a dry Saturday, I keep thinking it will mean I can eat more!

WaitingAtClockBusCanada · 03/01/2016 12:39

I'm abroad so it's getting towards the end of the day here - finishing up on 785 calories instead of 500 (damn you M&Ms) but very pleased that I said no to the office takeaway today. :)

Weighed myself this morning and I was 71kg. :(

Target weight: 58kg. It sounds so unachievable to me but you are all so motivating!! :)

Emz449 · 03/01/2016 12:48

Mustbe yes you have to add all separate items, milk in coffee, butter on toast, ketchup, Mayo etc. They may be small amounts calorie wise but they all add up Smile

IMustEatMoreVeg · 03/01/2016 12:53

I am urge surfing at the moment. I had an early lunch with DD and I know I am not actually hungry but I have a hankering for something sweet. I'm not going to cave though until tonight after dinner and I am going to have ONE champagne truffle.

MustBeThin · 03/01/2016 13:01

Thanks Emz I still have loads of Christmas munchies left over, I bought far too much plus I got 3 boxes of chocolates as Xmas gifts which are still unopened. Thorntons, Hotel Chocolat and a box of those boozy ones. I really don't want to throw them out 😕 maybe I'll have to see how my calories are at the wkend and maybe have one each night? Don't know how I find out how many calories are in each chocolate though because they all have different centres. 🙈

Not2bObvious · 03/01/2016 14:08

Assume 70 cals a chocolate and you won't be fat off, good luck 😉

Not2bObvious · 03/01/2016 14:09

Fat off? Far off even

CortisolandCaffeine · 03/01/2016 17:04

Trying to get some exercise in by playing Just Dance with the kids. I usually eat back my exercise calories but going to try not doing that this time. What is everyone else doing?

Testarossa1 · 03/01/2016 17:16

Can I join? Starting back on mfp tomorrow. Used it last year and lost 9lb, 5lb has crept back on, mainly through eating rubbish! I'm shelley378 if anyone wants to add me! I'll weigh first thing tomorrow morning and weekly from then.

aleC4 · 03/01/2016 18:06

Well the weekend is almost over, as are the Christmas holidays.
I am actually looking forward to starting my mfp and Fitbit journey tomorrow. I have meal planned for the whole week and did my shopping yesterday. I have planned healthy low-cal meals I think and changed the step goal on my Fitbit to 10000 so hopefully I should start to see some results fairly soon.
I am sick of being fat and unfit and somehow feel more determined than ever this time.

Emz449 · 03/01/2016 19:21

I would always factor in some sort of chocolate snack after my meals Mustbe, a chocolate or 2 a day would be good as you would still get that satisfaction without going overboard. Do the boxes have bar codes on? You could scan them if you have a smart phone with my fitness pal.

My dinner at Cau was amazing, back on the bandwagon tomorrow! A good friend of mine has made some low carb snacks for us tomorrow including bagels made of cauliflower and stuffed jalapeños! So work should be ok Smile

OMG I've just got on the scales. Blush
I weigh more than I ever have before, half a stone more than I thought. I now need to lose a minimum of 3.5 stone.
I have just made my pea and mint soup to take for my lunch tomorrow, it's only 276 calories for a big portion and actually tastes nice!
Breakfasts are what I struggle with, I always find it hard to find interesting things that are low calorie.
Good luck to everyone for tomorrow - old-hands and new starters like me!

twinkle183 · 03/01/2016 20:40

Evening ladies..:

Have just done my fat Sonia DVD from ages ago and omg am I hanging out Shock!! Was absolutely disgusted in myself and how I have allowed myself to get like this... Sad Before kids and dh I was a slender little thing.... Wink and quite toned!!!

Been good today... Be careful reducing your calories too much cos your go in to starvation mode and then your body will hold on to the fat instead of letting go...

Need to start upping my water intake as I found that was key to my weight loss as my body loves to hold on to those toxins!!! Lol

Am looking forward to weigh in and feel rather motivated! Am doing carb cycling as that works for me.. Only eating carbs after exercise xxx am back to work after 4 weeks off and am not looking forward to that early morning alarm... But I guess things have to return to normal at some point!!!

Welcome to all the newbies and please add me my name is the same as here!!! Wink

Not2bObvious · 03/01/2016 20:59

ale never take an evening weigh in as your weight (unless you're 8 stone to start with!) Weigh in first thing, post wee/naked - it will be a better number & then weigh yourself same time of the day next week, you'll be much happier I promise 😉
Big walk done today and around 1500 Cala, soup day tomorrow. Still feel very bloated but I'm sticking to jeans that feel tight, lest I forget what being a piggy did to my weight loss 😡 Back to work tomorrow, can't wait for structure again! Booked a mini break for 10 weeks away so I have something to aim for. Too excited!!!

aleC4 · 03/01/2016 21:16

Thanks for the advice Not2. I have always done morning wi in the past but dh, ds and I are all doing it together so we decide to do it tonight before ds got ready for bed. He is only 11 and has really whacked the weight on over the last year. I know some of it is hormonal as his body changes but I feel awful and I really don't want him to have the weight battles I have had. It doesn't help that dd is really thin and fit.
I figured if we all weigh in at the same time every week it shouldn't really matter in the end. I was tough to see those numbers though.
