Can't believe we've had to start a new thread already!

I'm on plan today and feeling good about it, this weight will go down! Still 10'13 this morning, not too disappointed. Hoping it'll go down with a good sleep or two over the weekend!

So that's the first day of exercise of 2016 done... And my goodness was it hard work!! But onwards and upwards xxx Smile

Bathsheba3 · 01/01/2016 21:35

Happy New Year all! I have been logged-out and not able to log in for quite a few days, but I'm back again. Phew.

You are all doing so well - amazing weigh-ins, and great goals. Very inspirational.

I really did loose my mind focus in Autumn, but new year, new start etc. Except today Blush. Celebrated New Years today instead of NYE. I'll be embarrassed to reveal my weight next week (away at the mo, no scales), given I was on a par with you, and I'm now Mrs Fattie-pants, but hey ho

aleC4 · 01/01/2016 21:40

Hi everyone, please may I join you all.
I have never used mfp before but have decided to combine that with my Fitbit and hopefully shift some of my weight.
I am 13 stone and need to be 10 as I am only 5' 4''. I turned 40 this year and swore I wouldn't be fat and 40. Now I am determined not to be fat and 41!!
I may have lots of questions as I try to get my head around all this so apologies in advance.

aleC4 · 01/01/2016 21:44

Ok so I have questions already!!
Is the number of calories it has given me to eat worked out for me personally or is that the average amount allowed for a lady of my age?
I have linked my Fitbit to mfp. Will the steps I do transfer from Fitbit to mfp?

JontyDoggle37 · 02/01/2016 03:56

Twinkle well done on the exercise
Bath welcome back, no shame ever on your weight, the important thing is you're doing something about it.
alec your calorie count will have been calculated based in your height, current weight, and rate at which you said you wish to lose. Welcome!
In other news my husband has decided he is going to start using MFP from tomorrow and is going running on Monday!!!

Not2bObvious · 02/01/2016 07:35

Welcome new mfp'ers! (Yes steps do transfer but I think there's a step you need to complete in Fitbit & mfp app - can't quite remember)
Goodness, I wish I had a time machine so I could go back to Tuesday, remember how I feel when I saw 5lb more on the scales instead of turning into a one woman eating machine that decided to add 3 more pounds to the party - welcome back the 8lb I'd lost in December!!!
What a disaster, glum glum glum. Anyway. Right. That's it now. Chocs are gone, last night of wine for a week tonight, and I'm going low cal for the next 3 days - nothing ridiculous, max of 1200 but Monday will be a soup day. I want those bloatey/crappy lbs gone in the next 10 days - 2 weeks. If I gained it in 10 days, I'm loosing it in around the same (😡) So for my goal setting, I want to be back to 11.9 by the 13th, and by the 2nd of February, I want to be 11.6.2 - that will take me to 1.5 stone in a year.
Anyone up to anything today? I think I'll get some walking in, I'm craving air.

aleC4 · 02/01/2016 09:12

Thanks Jonty, I thought that was the case. So I am I right in thinking if I stay under the calorie count it gives me then I 'should' start to lose?
We have a day/overnight with friends today so this will be my last blowout. I don't think it will be a crazy one but it's always hard when you're not in control of meals etc.
Monday is when I start for real - back to work and back to healthy eating. I have done my meal planner and shopping list which I am going to get shortly.

twinkle183 · 02/01/2016 10:48

Thanks for the welcome!!! So great start to the year our car has broken....! But I will not do the usual and eat cos that's what I would usually do!

So weighed in this morning 74kgsShock I only have myself to blame though... No one else forced me to put the food I my mouth!!! What to lose 20kgs... So that I have 9 at the beginning!!! Or a 5..(kg) . LolWink

Going to exercise every other day and my goodness are my legs sore from kettle bells yesterday.. I am walking like John Wayne from a western!!!

Please feel free to add me I am twinkle183 on mfp!

Keep going girls onwards and upwards xx

JemimaMuddledUp · 02/01/2016 13:35

Sorry to hear about your mum twinkle

Right, today is Day 1. Started off by walking just over 2 miles in 30 minutes, burning 181 calories. I use the MapMyWalk app, which links in to MFP.

Measured out my Special K and almond milk for breakfast with measuring cups to be sure of portion size. Lunch was a bagel with ham and Light Philadelphia and an apple.

Tesco is delivering later with a whole fridge full of low calorie foods. I'm quite excited about getting going with this!

Emz449 · 02/01/2016 14:07

Welcome to all new people!

Well I have been bad, very bad in fact. The last few days have been a whirlwind of too much food and lots of drinking!

Tomorrow is going to be a fresh start with low carb eating. Not sure what scales are saying but I'm expecting at least a few pounds with food bloating and things. I need to do a big food shop when I get back, and it will be a healthy one!

Thank you for all the welcomes and sorry for not being back since joining the thread... Blush I have not been very good.

Had not too bad a day today though, and I have sorted all 3 meals for tomorrow for a 500 day.

I dread to think how much cheese, wine, pudding and other naughty things I have consumed over the last fortnight!!!

IMustEatMoreVeg · 02/01/2016 15:03

Wow lots of new people! How lovely! Hello everyone!

I am pretty much the same as the last few days - 10st 6 and a bit. I had my normal breakfast then DH announced we are all going out for lunch . Unfortunately I have a fairly high cal dinner planned involving meatballs. Never fear, I ate just soup at lunch and skipped the dessert so handled that fine. I feel really good about myself doing that! The actions of a thin person I think!

I'll be seeing some friends I haven't seen for a couple of years in about 6 weeks and I would really love to be sub 10st for that so that is my big goal.

I also aim to do a lot more walking, drink a lot more water, and keep my environment tidier so that it is a more pleasant place to be.

CortisolandCaffeine · 02/01/2016 18:10

Hello, can I join? Been doing MFP on and off for years. Need support- I'm sick of losing and gaining again. Got a stressful new job and put on a stone Shock. Need to lose 2 stone in total.

First day today - lots and lots of veg and lean meat. And I am doing dry Janary. Most of the weight gain is alcohol related I'm afraid.

DietChic · 02/01/2016 19:29

Walked 14,000 steps today and after a large lunch, just having a couple of boiled eggs for dinner. Maybe early bed. Under calorie goal by 500 exercise calories so hopefully that will work its magic.

Feeling motivated!

Tiredemma · 02/01/2016 19:33

Ive rejoined MFP but under a new name. Have no friends Sad

Can I be added by people? Im emlouwat

JontyDoggle37 · 02/01/2016 19:46

Welcome everyone!
Emz glad to see you back - don't forget you have some wiggle room as you lost a bit more weight in the end than you intended I think?
IMust looks like we're on about the same deadline - 6 weeks to get below 10st - I'll race you to the finish lol! 🏃🏻

IMustEatMoreVeg · 02/01/2016 20:17

Chic - you will definitely see a good weight loss after a day like that! What a great start!

Cortisol - I love your name. I have definitely had times in my life when I was composed primarily of those two!

IMustEatMoreVeg · 02/01/2016 20:19

Jonty - you are on. But I am giving you a head start tonight because I have drunk half a bottle of wine (hic)

Not2bObvious · 02/01/2016 20:20

Just sent you an invite tiredemma😉

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 02/01/2016 20:21

Emz449 · 02/01/2016 20:57

Yeah there is a bit of wiggle room Jonty, I just don't want to get too comfortable. Monday will be a fresh start, back to reality then! My boyfriend will be leaving in a few weeks too, this time for 6 months Sad

OP posts:
twinkle183 · 02/01/2016 21:52

I would love to get below 10st in 6 weeks but that might be asking a bit much.... Hmm

Emz449 is your boyfriend in the services???

Hello to all the newcomers my name on mfp is the same as here!!! [waves]

Had a lovely dinner of stir fry veg with a low fat fish cake from aldi!! Yum, yum xxx

Tiredemma · 02/01/2016 22:00

Thanks for adding me!!

Emz449 · 02/01/2016 23:13

Hi twinkle, no he isnt, he's at uni and a part of his course is spending a year abroad in a country that speaks Spanish or Portuguese. He's just been in the Galapogas for three months and then will be heading to Brazil in March. Lucky man! I'll be seeing him hopefully in April which will be lovely, just feels very far away at the moment. Just have to think that in August we'll be living together again Grin

OP posts:
JontyDoggle37 · 03/01/2016 07:41

Emz just as importantly you'll be going on summer hols together in a gorgeous bikini, shorts and stewpot tops with not a qualm about showing off your body!
Well, I've had wooshes before but never one like this!!!! Day before yesterday I weighed 10st 7.75. I didn't weight yesterday because I forgot when I got up. Got on the scales this morning a bit worried in case more 'holiday weight' had landed....scales said 10st 3.75!!!! I got off and got back on again to be sure!!! 4lbs (clearly of bloat and water) disappeared in two days!!!! Can't stop smiling 😄 Means I'm back at my lowest so far already. So 5.75lbs until my revised goal of 9st 12.....woop woop!!!
