Anyone else nearing goal and struggling a bit?

I've lost over 30 pounds since Feb, eating carefully and exercising more. I'm just within my healthy bmi but want to lose another 9 pounds or so to sit comfortably in the healthy range.

Obviously the weight's coming off more slowly now and that's fine but I am struggling to keep at it. I'm so close but yet so far!

Anyone in a similar situation?

So this week I have sts - not surprising considering I haven't made any effort whatsoever - need to get my weight loss mojo back!

Hope you two have been more successful!

cheapskatemum · 04/10/2015 17:02

Zumba was wonderful, thank you for asking, Letme. Reminded me how much I enjoy it. I was so stiff 2/3 days after though! It's not on next Tuesday, just as well cos I'm working again anyway. In a fit of enthusiasm, I joined Slimming World the day after, never been in my life before. It's quite a new group and a friend goes. It seems a strange way of eating, if I'm honest, but I'm not really in a position to judge! My weigh in day is Wednesday morning & I'm working all day Monday as well as Tuesday, so on the down side, I'm going to have to plan very carefully what I take to eat. On the plus side, I won't be spending much (if any) time in my kitchen in the days leading up to weigh in. Thanks for the encouragement chumbler, I jolly well hope I've lost something after all this effort! Weirdly, although I told the group leader what I told you, that I just want to get under 10st, she wrote 9st 8lb as my target weight Confused

LetMeDriveTheBus · 04/10/2015 18:42

Maybe she thinks there are 10 pounds in a stone cheap!!!Confused

I've done weight watchers in the past but not slimming world. Good luck with the new approach.

I'm the same chumbler. And I've also lost my focus somewhat. But here's to finding it again! I'm aware I've said this every week for about 3 weeks now!

Right. Motivation needed. What are your short term goals? Mine is that by the end of October I WILL be 9 stone "something".

chumbler · 04/10/2015 20:06

Well done cheap hope you find sw works for you, bit cheeky of your leader though?!

Hahaha you're completely right letmedrivethebus we've been saying this for a while!!!

My goal is 10st 7 by end Oct. We can do it!!

Can someone give me a big kick up the bum though?!!!

Think I need to start meal planning again and cut out snacks as they've been sneaking back in - pesky things!!!

It's a bugger isn't it! The only way I did it was to reduce my portions even further and exercise more. It fell off then. But I felt it was unsustainable so accepted I'd be a half stone more than goal. I'm 5ft 7 and 10 stone which is still slim, sometimes wish I had the safety net of 9 and half though!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 06/10/2015 08:27

I had an day of awful eating yesterday Blush.

Why am I sabotaging myself?

OP posts:
chumbler · 07/10/2015 05:37

I think we've been at this a while so need to keep it fresh - I wrote some breakfast ideas earlier so that I'll have 5 x different breakfast to choose from each day - so all healthy but hopefully I won't feel restricted then. Thinking about doing something similar with lunches.

I think for me I sabotage due to bad planning, having the bad thing in the house in the first place. For me getting the weekly shop right should help a lot

LetMeDriveTheBus · 07/10/2015 20:32

You're right chumbler. It has been a while. I've had a think about my triggers for over eating.

  1. Boredom. I'm more likely to stuff myself on days I'm at home with my preschoolers by myself.
  2. Snacking. I get hungry in the afternoon. I have a healthy snack and then go overboard with scoffing.

Think I'm going to try and eat more at lunchtime to fend off the snacking. I'm not sure there's much I can do about the monotony of life with my little tiddlers at times.

Is there room for one more on this thread? I want to lose 13 lbs. I get to 9 stone and then I go back to 9 4 and the cycle continues only this time I got to 9 7 and want to be 8 7 this week I have lost one pound.

Also a daily weigher. So far so good today at least got the exercise in and had a bagel for brekkie but it was filled w with healthy stuff spinach onion tomatoes and a little goats cheese prob not too healthy
My main down fall is junk food chocolate crisps coke if I just cut down on that I'd be winning already

LetMeDriveTheBus · 09/10/2015 07:11

Hi bambinos. You are most welcome here Smile

I've lost 34 pounds since feb. Have bounced around 10 st 2 pounds since the middle of august!! I'm on a mission to get uncomfortably in the 9 st bracket. Hopefully achieved by Christmas if my lindor habit doesn't completely derail me

Eating more at lunchtime has been successful so far this week. But the big test will be sat-tues when I don't have the structure and busyness of work.

OP posts:
LetMeDriveTheBus · 09/10/2015 07:13

Hopefully I'll be comfortably in the 9 st bracket!!!

OP posts:
twobambinos · 09/10/2015 09:15

Thanks for the welcome. Ya totally knew what you meant.

Yesterday wasn't too bad. Will be having a take away later however so hoping to be good for the remainder of the day and weekend with plenty of fruit veg and exercise fingers crossed!

Kinvale · 09/10/2015 19:11

Hi ladies can I join you? Started off at 94.3 kg in July 2014 and I'm now 76.5kg. My goal is 66kg. Feel like I am over the hump and on the home run but I haven't lost any weight in the past month arghh! My last stall lasted 3 long months before I started dropping again. I have upped the exercise and cut back on the booze but in the meantime I need motivation to keep at it until the scales start moving again!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 10/10/2015 08:58

Well done kinvale. You've done brilliantly. This last bit is so hard! I've struggled to keep motivation recently

OP posts:
twobambinos · 10/10/2015 11:24

Welcome kinvale that's great going hopefully you won't stall for as long this time.

We have a in 3 weeks so Im hoping that will motivate me a little bit more in the right direction. So far so good today and I'll be going for a run later too. Going to try up the exercise a bit

chumbler · 10/10/2015 15:23

Welcome kinvale and Bambinos :)

Boredom definitely = snacking!

Exercise sounds like a good idea!! I remember that swimming was on my list of things to do about 2 months ago when I joined this thread... Uh oh!

fidelma · 10/10/2015 21:16

Hi can I join. I lost 11lb from last November I am 9/9.2 but would like to get to 8.10
Eating a bit out of control. Need to calm down and eat better.
Going to put mfp back on my phone. Even 4 lb off for Christmas would be good.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 11/10/2015 08:34

The more the merrier fidelma Smile.

I'm a whisker from hitting the 9 st bracket. 10 st 0.6 pounds! I'm absolutely determined to get there by next weekend despite going out for an all you can eat curry this evening

If I do make it, I will be literally whooping with joy!

OP posts:
chumbler · 12/10/2015 14:17

Hi fidelma :) that's a great loss!

You can do it letmedrivethebus!!

I'm now 10st 8 so hoping to make 10st 7 this month, think I'm relying on breastfeeding to do the work for me though as haven't made any effort! I wonder how well id do if I made an effort this month?!

VivaHate · 12/10/2015 15:56

Can I join please? Not lost any weight for about 10 WEEKS- I am very stringent about what I eat, don't snack (apart from a slice of malt loaf before working out)...Decided to follow slimming world principles for this last 17 pounds or so.

Start weight was 19stone0.5 pounds in Jan '13. Waist was 50 inches.
Current weight 11st11pounds. Waist is 33 inches.
Goal weight is 10st 7. Waist 29 inches.

I do a lot of exercise, a mixture of HIIT and weightlifting. It's so frustrating not seeing my hard work reflected on the stupid scales, trying not to lose heart. I am not giving in though as I have come so far...

Kinvale · 12/10/2015 20:15

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!

My exercise is running. I tend to run 4/5 times per week. I really want to start toning my arms etc but still feel to flabby! plan is to get into the 60s and then start the tonig I think.

Anyone got any good recipes suggestions for lunch? I am struggling with what to take to work!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 12/10/2015 21:30

Welcome viva. What a fantastic achievement. You must feel like a completely different person. Keep going.....you've done so well.

I tend to take a massive salad to work kinvale. Feta, tuna or chicken for protein. But I've been thinking I might do a batch of soup as the weather's turning.

I'd recommend lifting free weights to tone your arms. It's completely changed my body shape, particularly my arms.

Thanks for the encouragement chumbler. I found the pounds came off pretty well when breastfeeding as long as I didn't stuff myself with cake.......unfortunately I basically stuffed myself with cake until I weaned the DC Sad. What an idiot!!

Hi! Welcome all newbies! I've succumbed to the lure of Slimming World in order to lose those last few pounds as well, VivaHate. It was so hard at first to eat so few cereals. It worked to kick start the last few pounds loss though - 10st 2.5lb on the scales today Smile. I'm routing out some old, low fat recipes too. Vegetarian moussaka, yum. Bit of an effort to cook, but lasts 3 meals (no one else will touch it - another result!)

Kinvale · 14/10/2015 18:10

76kg.... 0.5 off. I can get into the 60s...!! Come on!
